[Completed] Help Rooting the dreaded Huawei phone! (Sorry if Wrong Area) - XDA Assist

Hi!
My phone is a Vodafone New Zealand Carried Huawei Y6 Elite. Nothing else, it's less than three days old. Stock, nothing added to it, sim's in, WI-FI is on, all that jazz, no settings changed (BESIDES THE ONE NEEDED FOR OBVIOUSLY ROOTING) but for some reason i can't do it. I am dying on the inside.
All I can say is, I bought this phone specifically to root it - literally specifically to **** with it. It's probably, two - three years old (since release) and is a piece of **** to many, and in performance comparison to a Samsung phone but don't judge me. I am ambitiously poor.
So, I pretty much tried everything and according to every root software's list of devices they support, this piece of **** phone is not in any of those god damn lists, please someone tell me why. I rooted a Vodafone phone. But can't root a piece of **** Huawei. I know nothing of technology just tutorials on the internet, so I literally followed everything I could find related to 'ROOTING HUAWEI Y6 ELITE' although most pages actually showed P8's and ****, but anywho. I can't root it. I tried the ADB Thing, it just doesn't recognize the device in the cmd thing, like I found a tutorial with the commands for it and ****.
Oh my god, this is frustrating can someone help me please? I don't know what else to put in this I'm not overly tech savvy, I had to google where to find my serial number. I know some things though, I'm not overly useless but this was hard.
Hey thanks anyway, I probably look a fool but please help <3
edit: also so u understand new zealand an iphone cost $1,100 and a Huawei P8 cost $800, this phone cost $89.

Old Fart (really) Needs Help!!!

I know now that it was a mistake, but I bought a Chinese Clone of the HTC Touch Diamond2(?) but now I am stuck with it. What the problem is that at my residence, I have a poor signal from my Rogers provider and will only work intermittently just in one corner of the house if I stand in the corner, hold my mouth the right way, stand on one foot (you know what I mean). From reading your forum and others, it is suggested that upgrading your ROM may help with reception issues. O.K., more than willing to try this but for the life of me, I can't get this phone to upgrade. Seller is of no help either. I can get into the boot menu buy holding the phone answer and power buttons at the same time. I have not found the combination or a way to get it to give me a hard reboot. I have tried the HardSPL method but that does not work or the RUU way either. I am having major surgery two months from now and will be bed ridden for at least 6 weeks. I would dearly like this phone to work for so I can keep in touch with my children via text messaging. Here are some of the numbers I have found inside:
02-8174-85053
T5353
Serial:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
IMEI:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Windows Mobile 6.1
O/S: 1.0.02.342
Boot: 1.0.02.347
I apologize for being so long winded....just trying to give the most information possible. I really appreciate any help or guidance you can give me. Thank-you from Canada.
Well, the HardSPL and rom flashing are device specific, so even if you bought a device that looks like the Diamond 2, you have something completely different under the hood. Hence, none of the tools that you mentioned will work. As far as upgrading the rom, it isn't the OS rom that may help you with your reception issues, but the Radio. I know of a few Chinese forums that are involved with these knock-offs but to be honest (from what I have read), people simply complain there and I do not know how much help are they receiving.
I am sorry for telling you like this, but there is a very small chance that someone around here is going to have a radio or a custom rom for your device. On the flip side, if you would have been successful at flashing your device, you would now be the proud owner of a shinny, expensive paperweight, so not all has been lost...
I hope you can get some more help. Google your device +your carrier (ie Sunno HD +Rogers +no signal) or something like that (be creative) and you may come up with an answer.
Best of luck with your surgery though
I have a better idea- you were mis-sold a product, and are entitled to a refund. Do that instead. There's no way I'd put up with accepting a copy of a product if it was advertised as such.
In future I would be more careful as to where you purchase things! As an old fart, you should know this!

Well, I guess he knew that it was a knock off, and most Chinese Vendors will tell you that whatever you are buying is not the real thing. So, unless there is something really wrong with it, they may be hesitant to refund any money.
Kind of had that feeling that I was screwed but it was worth asking about it. Thanks for all your help.

Nothing wrong with trying to be cost effective and trying to look for and find bargains in this world economy.
We all just need to remember that nine times out of ten, you get what you pay for.

[Q] LG Optimus 2/ LGAS80

So I have a LG-AS680/LG-Optimums 2
Specs are as follows
Andriod: Gingerbread 2.3.4
Baseband:6170

SuperOneClick does not root my device
I need help, I haven't been able to root my device in form or fashion. There is little to no help on this phone. I have looked all around for rooting this phone. I have attached my Screen shot of the S.O.C and I am tried not finding nothing. Unlike most areas of the United States Alaska sells this phone as a service phone although I bought this phone at full retail value.
I have watched the video in the beginning and searched to find nothing on this site.

Hello
So I am going to say this and be very blunt as possible. Out of the entire programmer’s in the world no one has any program that suites this phone model. This site and many other vouch that they are the best and have everything you need while no one has any idea to help and literally stubs there nose up and avoids the question clearly. Not one of you can take time out of your day to even give any help will you? This site’s advertises how it is so great yet clearly has nothing to offer here. This is to the people out there as well who think less of the phone because it is a “pre-paid” when some service’s like mines sell it as a phone for service.
This makes the community look like a load of yuppies. Only helping those who have the phones like them and disregarding those who have to make due with certain phones. Genius!

So for 2 damn years not one person could help with this phone? Yet this is one of the "greatest" sites?
Well hello? I need help with this
Bumping for the phone that causes hackers to choke
SO I am going to try to see if this "software" called "King Root" will work. Still looking for any help for anyone that could help me root this damn phone. I will not root any lf my other phones (S3, Tab 2, Tab A, or S5 active) until I get this one phone that has crippled a community to root

Seeking help. Novice user rooting advice. Feeling like a fool!

Hello all!
First of all I'll say that having spent several hours browsing the forums here I am in awe of what you're all able to achieve!
Anyway, here's my story...
My partner and I have not long moved to South Korea and, with my first paycheck here I decided to treat myself to a Mate 9 after HOURS of research. I've always had older, cheaper smart phones and this was a real 'treat yourself' purchase for me. I ordered my new phone on Gmarket and it arrived, from China, a week later (last Friday). Since then I've been knocking my head against the wall. It's not the international version I've bought myself, but the Chinese version. I can't get google play, gmail and all the other great stuff that really makes an android phone properly useable. I am gutted.
I understand that all is not lost- I can wait two weeks and request a code from Huawei to unlock the bootloader, and from there root the phone and get it onto international firmware... right?
My problem is, after a weekend of looking into this obsessively I feel like I'm in WAAAY over my head. There are so many options for different firmwares, different ways to do it and, well, I'm massively confused.
I'm hoping some kind soul will make me feel less utterly stupid than I feel right now! I'm not wanting to do anything fancy, just change the ROM to make the phone function as if I'd bought it back home in Scotland. Is there an idiots guide to this? I am brand new to this kind of thing and terrified of making a useless lump out of my new phone.
One of the biggest issues with living abroad, I'm over 5000 kilometers from the people I'd usually go and beg for help when I've been a tech dunce.
Specs of the phone;
4 gig ram, 32 gig storage
Running android 7.0
EMUI version 5.0
Build number MHA-AL00C00B213
Thank you all in advance!
-Michael
If that's your only issue you should just get GMS you'll get Google apps.
If your looking to change your Rom and take a dive in this world. Read read read read.
If your just interested in getting it done fast. I would recommend funky Huawei (Google it)
You still need to root. If you don't want to wait for the bootlocker unlock code just get DC-Unlocker.
These are paid services. But they make life easier. If you want a easy step by step guide ask I'll try to make it.

Thank you for your reply! I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, I managed to get the GMS core working and got so excited I forgot! Unfortunately the reason I've remembered is because I'm back on the forum looking for help again. Just about to post a new thread!

FRP Locked Pixel 3

Hi,
I am kinda new to the forum. And I am a little lost with the phone.
My step-father gave me his Pixel 3, as a gift. However, my step-dad has a pretty wicked sense of humor. He gave me the phone, but he didn't entirely log out of the phone. When I turned on the phone, it turned out that the phone is FRP locked. I asked him for the damn pin code, but he rebuked that, unlocking it is part of the learning curve, and I will value this phone more.
In the past few days, I was googling every possible exploit I could find there. Just to learn that phone is running Android Q, so nothing really works. (You can see my dad is a wicked person).
I understand that I have flash new software, but any ideas how could I do that? I have absolutely no clue how what to do. I downloaded Android Studio, but I don't even know what to do with that software. I a complete noob, to that.
What I managed to establish is that the phone has dev options turned off. It's running Android Q from April this year, and device in fastboot mode says the device is locked.
I will be grateful for any tips. I wanna see shocked face of my step dad.

If say give it back to the rightful owner. You won't get any help here trying to hack into someone else's phone.
Either your story is BS, or he is an idiot and doesn't understand FRP. I'll pretend that the story isn't BS however unlikely, and tell you to get the PIN/PW. Otherwise, take your losses on whatever you paid for the stolen phone.
He guys, I just stole a phone, can you help me launder this phone? - Is the honest question here I suspect.
If not, you should be able to get the password from the person who last used it.
First, thank you, everyone, for the replies. Second I would like to reply to some concerns, that were raised here, So to address the biggest elephant in the room, the phone was not stolen. my stepdad simply has a strange sense of humor and he likes to torture me with his ''jokes''. This would be one of them. He gave me a locked phone on purpose thinking it would be funny, watching me twiddling with the phone for hours, until I would come to him begging him for a password. Which already happened yesterday. The phone is now, working as it should be. The third thing I wanna mention is the fact that at the time of writing this post, I was pretty confused about the whole situation. I didn't realize fully what is FRP, . It was the first time when I heard about it in my life. All my life I had Samsung phones, and never before I had to deal with something like FRP. I simply thought it was another stupid joke of my stepdad..
I am a person, who likes challenges, and the fact that my stepdad has pulled another number on me made my desperation, but defeat him, even bigger, I am rather a tech literate, so having him challenging me on unlocking this phone rubbed my ego wrong way. I apologize for causing any disturbance here.

If this is legit then post the IMEI of the phone and take a pic of the phone box with the matching IMEI or a screenshot of the order email / receipt

For what purpose? He already said he got the P/W and it is working. He didn't ask anything else and simply said "thanks."
Thread closed as the Op doesn't require any additional assistance.
Second of all if you can help then please do so... if you think something isn't right hit report and move ahead.

Used phone without pin code details

I've recently (thankfully without too much of a cost) bought a used Huawei Honor 8S phone.
I didn't get any details about the phone's previous owner (yes, I know that sounds dodgy AF) and have obviously come up against pin code verification issues, meaning i've got myself a very light-weight brick and being a 6 digit number, this would take a couple of lifetimes to crack
I have tried contacting Huawei (i'd make a terrible criminal), asking them if they could contact the original owner, so I could swap details but without any luck.
Of course, I can understand their position on this but I really don't think the phone was stolen and I certainly wouldn't have contacted them via my real email had I thought this was the case.
Anyway, I would of course like to get the phone going again. Is there any legitimate way of doing this or am I wasting my time?
My current phone (HTC One M9) hasn't allowed me to access the google play store for a couple of years now, neither will it connect to the internet via giffgaff, although it works fine from my home router.
Anyway, I thought the Huawei would be a fine replacement that wasn't too crap to be worth bothering with.
I'm not particularly technical but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for replying but i've never found any of these vids that good. Have you watched it yourself and tried following along?
You'll be lost within the first few minutes.
What I really need is a comprehensive guide that allows me to ask questions when I come to stumbling blocks....which is inevitable.
Does anyone have such a link?
