Mate 9 for the US- Jan 6? - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

I saw there have been a few rumors that it will be released in the US. Does anyone have any news on this?
Things i want to know, apart from which model 4/6gb they will sell, is whether it will be fully compatible (as opposed to partially compatible) with AT&T (the international version it misses band 30) and if they will sell the new obsidian black version.
anyone?

According to Evleaks, Jan 6th is the date. I bet they only stick with the Grey/white 4/64 GB versions though:

I thought you were in the same boat as me? Not able to get it because it doesn't work on CDMA. I'm so bummed, guess I'll have to get the Pixel XL or LG V20 unfortunately

I may still go for 6/128 dual sim. But with s8 around the corner......

I couldnt wait, just bought a l29 for use in the US. Might sell if Tmobile decides to carry the phone. Have to see what type of us waranty they offer or im going to keep it.

Or the Moto Z Play... I'm checking out all three. I have a V10 and am worried that the battery of the V20 will be equally horrid. Otherwise the specs are a nice improvement over the V10.

Once you get use to the mate battery life its hard going back to a 3000mah battery . Ive been using the nexus 6p for a few months after I broke/sold my mate 8 and battery life is decent. But charging 2-3 times a day sucks.

Actually I do lean that way. But I'm finding that most of the phones I'm considering don't offer CDMA either. So CDMA is a strong interest, but had dropped off the 'must have' list. But 6 GB remains on the list.

Sounds like a good plan! I'll be looking at getting it Jan 6th for my T-Mobile carrier...

gorgeous device but way too overpriced for a huawei. there is virtually no resale value for them and the carriers wont sell it. also there is no development because of the cpu. might as well save money and get an honor 8. but again the phone is stunning.

I suspect you are right about it being a dying network...but w/o it I presume I have no immediate options to change to Verizon, and expect consistent coverage. Is my understanding incorrect?

great design junk software.

The software really isn't at all bad this year. Previous versions, yes but this year is perfectly usable. If anything, it feels way better than Touchwiz and it's easily on a par with HTC Sense too imo.

FWIW, Newegg is advertising that the Mate 9 will be released in the US on Jan 5th.

Galaxy s2 syrocket Vs Galaxy s2 HD LTE

i have had my GS2 HD LTE for about a week, its of course an import and ill say this by far the most beautiful screen i have ever seen, very smooth and fast UI, and lets not get started on camera and movies, only thing is that i cant use the LTE radio because its not compatible with at&t LTE bands. oh well so i hit up craigslist and traded my white I9100 for a skyrocket i got to say now im torn the LTE is nice i gotta give at&t their props. first speedtest i ran clocked 57mb's on download and 25 upload i thought i was going crazy. screen size HD LTE-4.65", skyrocket 4.5" so u cant really tell to much of a difference, still gotta do some more testing but ill keep everyone posted.

As far as importing goes try this website:
http://www.welectronics.com/gsm/Samsung/SAMSUNG-SHV-E120S-GALAXY-S-II-HD-LTE.HTML
Out of both screens I gotta go with the hd, it's just so clear and defined it really is like watching bluray and DVD.
The company is out of Chicago so it will be much easier for u than it was for me, mine came from Mongolia, where ever that is
This probably isn't coming to the US anytime soon and I'm not gonna shell out the cash to import. Very jealous though.

I looked at both I can't tell you what the effects of the differences would be but I noticed one had a CDMA radio so if it does come to the USA, sprint might get one or Verizon, but with the nexus on the horizon I doubt it. Butnthanks for putting me up on this
Does the HD have the same screen problem as the Skyrocket?
The hd dosent have any problems
I'm planning to import one (GS2 HD LTE white), and I wonder if it would work in France?
I must buy in USA or in Korea?
Looks like Korea and France both use 2100 for 3G, not sure about 2G but it's probably 900 and 1800. So make sure it has those bands. 4G is a crap shoot.
Where are you importing it from? What retailer?
I do not really know which site to go, I went on welectronics.com
if you have other websites I'm interested
This is the samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket forum. Not the where can i order a.galaxy s2 hd lte overseas forum lol but if the hd had a 4.5 inch display it would be better

It's time to upgrade!

Alright, My contract is ending very soon. So, I'm wanting your opinions on which carrier and device I should choose?
What are you currently using? Is there anything you especially like or dislike about it?
I just upgraded to an SGSII and love it, especially with the active development community here, but I'm also stuck with AT&T.

The primary downside to the AT&T SGSII is no LTE (4G). If that's important to you you'll have to avoid that phone. AT&T released a "skyrocket" version that is larger and includes LTE, but it has other differences as well that cause it to have a smaller developer community.
Have you asked friends on other providers how good their 4G service is in your area? Perhaps that would help you determine which carriers are best for you.
What's important to you? Monthly price? Coverage? Unlimited mobile to mobile? LTE in your area or areas you frequent? CDMA technology vs GSM? Having the hottest phone? Customer service? Do you get a discount through school or employer for a specific carrier?

I used Cyanogenmod 9 (iyokan for MK16i) and three days ago and found some problems like:

HTC ONE X
Bro, I currently have a sgs2 and am loving it. Once you find the correct settings for performance v's battery life then it is grand. I have ordered a HTC ONE X as I would love to use it while flying to help me pass my aeronautical acrobatic exam. The camera is out of this world and the battery life is about 3 times better than an sgs2, running it with comparable settings etc. So, if you got the cash go with the HTC ONE X and I am sure you will not be let down. My copilot on one flight had one and it is freakin legendary. Anyways, hope that helps bro.
I would go with either the One X or the Galaxy SIII. im kinda partial to the SIII because i've had my Captivate with CM9 and its wonderful. Carrier wise just go with someone who has better coverage in your area
It´s time for you to learn where to post!!!

Dear all,
LG did it again! I loved the first Flex... and after to meet the Flex2 all the other mobiles look generation back. Why you are looking for it?
Just we can collect here our impressions and suggests...
Regards,
Let's hope the development is a lot easier on this. And I'm kinda disappointed by the smaller screen. I don't think I can go smaller than my current flex. When I hold other phones they feel like little kid phones

I don't think many ppl will jump ship. The Flex 2 will be expensive when it comes out I'm guessing, plus it really is the same as The G3 but curved and bumped up specs which is fantastic for me since I never owned a G3 yet. But for those G3 owners I think they'll wait for other snapdragon 810 phones to come out.

I don't know about that... http://www.androidauthority.com/lg-g-flex-2-price-amazon-de-579879/
The LG G Flex 2 was recently unveiled at CES 2015 and comes packing plenty of cutting edge hardware, including LG’s latest flexible display and Qualcomm’s new high-end processor. According to a listing on Amazon.de, the LG G Flex 2 will retail for around €599.99 off-contract. This will probably work out to around $600 in the US, give or take, based on the usual price differences.
This puts the G Flex 2 just on the cheaper side of your typical flagship smartphone and certainly isn’t an unreasonable price for a handset featuring a 5.5-inch 1080p flexible display, 13MP OIS+ camera, Snapdragon 810 processor, and a self-healing cover. However, what isn’t clear is whether this is the 2GB RAM/16GB storage or 3GB RAM/32GB storage variety of the handset, although the price probably suggests the former. Unfortunately, there’s no mention of a release date either, although pre-orders are available now via the link.
If you would like a closer look at what the G Flex 2 has to offer for €599.99, check out our coverage of the launch announcement and our time spent going hands-on with the handset at CES.

Thanks, comparing to the Exynos 7420 leaks of S6 it's not dragging behind much, but it does pull the shorter straw in all tests, especially multitasking and CPU integer/float-point. Obviously we have to see how the S6 does in real life later.
Since AnTuTu tests a lot of different areas the result can vary a bit depending on heat, current load on the system etc.

Ugh...I have to explain everything.
mgbotoe was confused because he said you could have bought the phone on any past March 2nd. I simply brought it to his attention that the Note 5 did not exist on any March 2nd prior to March 2, 2016.

So far its alot smother atleast thats what it seems like to me. its not a major improvement from the Note 5 but just the sd card itself is the best thing im glad they listened and brought it back.
Then the camera is a lot better than the note 5. it was worth the upgrade im sure not everyone feels the same tho

Well, in all fairness, the note series to the S series is never a major upgrade...it been that way since the note 3 release. Note 3 to the s5, total pwnage by the note 3...note 4 to the s6...nothing really, other than the device cosmetic look. Same for the note 5 to s7. And no I am not downing the s line, all I am saying is that note line is made to be the better big brother of the S line. By the time the new S line get here, there is not a HUGE improvement you know? If you look at the release dates of the device it make sense to me.
For damn sure. Everyday with this phone im basically just never bored. Love my Gold Tmobile Note 5.

samsung deal

Was just wondering if you sign up for the next big phone, up to $600, and $50. Will you pay for rest in full or?

well usually when you buy from samsung the rest is owed so id think so...no freebies lol.
carriers obviously will offer to put it on 2 or so year plan with a specific data plan. but ive never heard of electric device companies offering leases. usualy that's the job of the 3rd party resellers to screw you over for a couple of years. but i miggt be wrong.
edit:
so there is something similar but this is evil at its best:
https://www.samsung.com/uk/samsung-upgrade/
you have to keep on paying and paying and each year you get a new device. plus you never own the device and must return it once the new one is released.
I owe $750-ish on my Note 10 so $600 doesn't seem so bad. I signed up just in case I decide to get it. However, the ridiculously high price hikes with each new itteration makes me want to go to one of the 2nd or 3rd-tier manufacturers, so, we'll see...

I will be buying directly from Samsung, $600.00 for my S10 plus or my Note 9, and I have up to 24 months to pay off the rest. Usually I paid off in 2 months, but is good to know that I have the option to pay in 24 months I'd something happens.

Details of the current lender used by Samsung in the UK can be found here https://www.klarna.com/uk/cbrf/consumer/#section-5
The only downside I can see is that they perform a credit screening on application, which can affect your credit score for other credit screenings. Not a big deal for the most part, unless you have any credit issues.
Sold my 7 Pro, picked up a cheap 3 XL for the $600 trade in. Going for the 10 Plus. Unlocked Version 5G hopefully at launch. Outright.

I just placed a "Pre Order" for Note 10+ Aura Glow with a pair of Galaxy Buds as bonus!
Delivery August 21.
The 5g version is Verizon only right? I don't see an option for unlocked N10+ 5G. I really wished the all exynos rumor was true. I can only use Verizon where I am, so I've never been able to buy an exynos phone.
5g version only comes in black?

black, white and the aura color. 256gb or 512gb. it only lets you select verizon for carrier.
