Huawei Share and Voice-controll - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

What does this "Huawei Share" button in the notification bar do?
And somehow Huaweis voice-control doesnt work for me, I did like 100x voice training but it still does nothing when im saying "Ok Emy". The google version does work tho.
Do I have to change something in order to get the build-in voice-control working?
Phone is MHA-L29 and
Build Number: MHA-L29C432B126

Now on Tap

Hey everyone, I received my Mate 8 about a week ago but no matter what I try I can't get now on tap working. Every official Google app has permission to do whatever it wants and I have the latest firmware version installed (and yes, now on tap is enabled within the Google app) but I still can't get it working. I've read that other people have the same problem. Has anyone else figured out how to fix this? Thanks in advance

Sorry can you elaborate more? do you mean google now? as I know it's clashing with EMUI of Huawei at the moment unless others can correct me....
Well Google now works in general, "OK Google" speech recognition works fine as does pretty much everything else, the only things that don't work are the home button related gestures (holding home for Now On Tap and swiping up from home to get to your now cards).

googlequicksearchbox:interactor error

Recently after updating to Honor 5 I have been receiving this error whenever I try to use MIC on any app.
http://i.imgur.com/RSKzF3z.jpg
I searched it and I know that if I disable the optiong to "Ok Google" from anyscreen it will go away but I cannot believe that is the only option.
Has anyone found the same error or solution?
Is there any Huawei channel to submit this error?

I have the same issue, the only solution I have is to disable the ok Google option as you said.

I think problem should be addressed to Google first cause of Google now, or Huawei, second, cause the service is continuosly listening for "Ok google" activation, but it should stop or, better, stand-by, so the
microphone can be used by the concurrent app, when finished, service automatically restarted. This behaviour doesn't require any error or warning pop-up when happens.
Even I like to know, if anyone knows how to submit issues directly to Huawei/Honor.
Just started having the same issue with the latest Google app update, but I can't even disable the "Ok Google" detection. It just turns itself back on immediately. Here's a screencap of my dilemma:

@Xichael: Tap on "Delete Voice Model" and you can turn it off permanently. This is, as far as I know, the only way other than deleting / deactivating the Google App or possibly tweaking certain permissions. Once you delete the voice model, the "Ok Google" should still work within the app or when long pressing the home button.
@xghost1 Yes, deactivating "Ok Google" on any screen by deleting the voice model is so far the only solution that works permanently. There is currently no way to have "Ok Google" everywhere while also not getting that error message. We'll just have to wait for a fix. I think this only applies to the current "Google Assistant" though. It might be possible to go back to an older version of "Google Now" where "Ok Google" on any screen still works while not getting that error.
Thanks, that solves it for me. I can live without "Ok Google", but that popup was intolerable.

Remove your trained voice and then "Ok Google" detection on any screen will then turn off. That is the only way I found to disable it.

Other Nougat phones with OK Google active don't have this issue. So I'd say Huawei would be the first to be addressed.
It's hard to know who to blame on this one. When Googling, it looks like it's only a problem on Huawei devices. That said, when I try to disable all-screen OK Google detection, the setting won't stick and always reverts. That sounds like a Google issue. I had to delete the voice model.
Likely it's some combination of both.
I called the service hotline last week and they said it was the update to Google app that was screwing things up. For me it was creating a toast message in my camera app when I would record video or use voice activated shutter control for still pictures. He told me to revoke permissions in the Google app for the microphone, or revert to an older version of the app. I'm assuming pre Google Assistant. I haven't tried that option yet.
Turning off all-screen 'OK Google' detection is likely the best option, especially because you can map your Smart Key to Voice Search and get nearly the same functionality. The only impaired function is if you hands-free dock in your car, but even then I rarely use Assistant anyway in that setting.
Thank you all for your comments and replies.
For your information I was receiving this error even without Google Assistant, since I was using my phone with Portuguese language. I tried to reset and changed it to English, now I have Google Assistante working but the error still remains. So like it was already mentioned my best gues is to associate the problem with Google App and Huawei Software.
To be sure it would be good if anyone could test the issue on a Custom Rom.
Thanks
Go into Playstore and chose to uninstal Google app. It will roll back to a version before Google Assistant and your phone will act as normal, you just don't have assistant. I even noticed an issue prior to this while using Shazam to identify a song I was listening to.
Background processes
"com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox:interactor" is a common Android process.
Huawei is at fault for this bug.
I can confirm only Huawei handsets are experiencing this annoying bug.
Huawei also has their own voice assisted application/processes I.e. Quick calling. If you disable all Huawei voice assisted features, this most likely will solve the problem as well.
It seems Huawei voice assisted processes and Google voice assisted processes cannot be active at the same time without the user seeing this message. If you prefer "Ok Google" and other Google voice assisted processes then try disabling Huawei voice software first.
Go to settings and search "voice" then select "voice control" turn off all Huawei voice assisted processes.
Hopefully this helps.
I guess if I want to disable OK Google and use Huawei's voice assistant instead, I can be away from the evil Google. But what does Huawei voice assistant do? I only found "find my phone" and very few other functions. While from what I heard, in China where Google services are totally disabled, Huawei's voice assistant can do a lot more things. Where are they?
Turning off the Huiwei voice facilities does not work. Still get same error.
To get rid of the box you have to turn off "ok Google" detection from any screen.
If it it turns itself back on (a Google bug) you have to delete the voice model.
To use the assistant you'll have to hold down the home button.
The interactor box is just another big of many that Huawei hasn't bothered patching. Huawei clearly doesn't care. Last time buying a device from them.

Yes. Get that you have to turn off OK Google.
The trouble is, I don't *want* to turn it off.
Very annoying bug for sure.

I totally agree, but that's what we get for giving Huawei money, clearly they don't care.

Google Assistant / "OK Google" Wake-Up and Unlock

@Puksom had said in another thread that he had OK Google working to wake up the phone, but I've heard from many others that it doesn't.
Hoping anyone running various versions of MIUI Global and/or Chinese can chime in if they have this feature working.
If it works for you, please let me know your build number. I can confirm it doesn't work on the latest Chinese stable, but, since I still have another couple days for bootloader unlock, I can't confirm much else.
Note that by OK Google wake-up, I mean with the screen off, and the phone unplugged.
By unlock, I mean that you set a PIN/Password, and that saying OK Google can bypass this lock screen if your voice matches.
(By the way, a somewhat difficult work-around for people who need this feature but can't get it working...)
You can set up, on the Chinese builds, a voice wake-up for the Chinese assistant.
Although you'll need to pronounce it well, you need to program the wake-up word, Xiao ai, by saying Xiao ai tong xue
Then saying "Xiao ai" can make the phone wake up... from there, you can say "OK google" and access assistant. But of course we all want to access assistant directly.
I have that working I'm on official Chinese rom with Google apps and services installed it works ok
I'm running Global Version (9.5.4), and it doesn't work.
When the screen is off, it's not listening. When the screen is on, on the lock screen, it activates, but it doesn't unlock the phone (there's no Trusted Voice), so you need to enter your PIN/pattern.
Trusted Places is not available either, so there is no way to have the phone unlock automatically except using a Mi Band or some other bluetooth device.
@funziebear What is working for you exactly? OK Google with screen off? Does it also unlock your phone automatically or do you have to enter your pattern/pin as well? I though no version of MIUI supported any of those features, based on what I have been able to dug up.
I'm also on the Global Rom and it does NOT work. As well as not having any face unlock options.
Very disappointing.
I'm on official chinese stable. Installed all Google Apps and gave full permissions and autostart permissions to all Google Apps. Installed Assistant and was even able to activate it properly with wake-up and trusted voice. But it's still not working. There was once a message from within the assistant, that said Xiao Ai is still the default assistant and Google Assistant is not set as default.
It's working with screen on, but not unlocking
It's not working with screen off

Are you sure? Can you say OK Google with the screen off, and it wakes up?
can you guys please figure this out definitively ? Cuz I'm willing to buy the phone, but i will not buy it if google's assistant isn't able to wake-up the phone. pretty please figure it out.
It currently does not work with the screen off.

within your helm of knowledge do you believe it's going to receive this feature in a near-future update?
Cuz I ran into this EXACT same issue with my Galaxy S7 and saw people with Galaxy S6 and S8 facing the same issue, all of them can wake-up the screen, even the word can be configured to whatever word the user wants as long as it is phonetically pronounceable in the 5 most common languages, but the catch is that it only works with Samsung Voice later renamed to Bixby. And I even tried running both Samsung and Google's assistants simultaneously, it doesn't work, they both compete for the exclusive use of the microphone so the idea of using one to wake-up the screen and the other to execute the command is not practical or viable since the second one will only have access to the microphone-audio-stream after the first one released it. So in the end I deactivated the ****ty Samsung Voice crap and decided to stay with Google's Assistant even though it does not wake-up the phone.
what a barbaric decision this is specially coming from Xiaomi. truly ****ed up
Any updates on this? I haven't tried newer MIUI 10 versions, wondering if they added support.

I got the phone right now, seems like the app itself works but I can't enable "Access with Voice Match" to say "OK Google" from any screen, not sure why.
Although I can still say "OK Google" on the app itself.
I believe for that you need a different launcher which at this point isn't possible unfortunately.
Please if anybody got any success with enabling the "Access with Voice Match" for Google Assistant, let us know.
Cause I was using Google Assistant alot with my previous phone(while driving etc.) and now I have to press it each time.

Huawei Celia help

Hello. So I'm using p40 pro, with emui 10.1.0. I tried setting up celia, but it's not working.
The hivoice itself is working, meaning if I go to "tools" folder in home screen, and open hivoice, it's working. I can press the button to start giving voice commands.
What's not working, is the wakeup phrase, the "hey, celia". When I clicked the option to toggle voice wakeup, I got the screen that said 'say the wakeup phrase, "hey, celia"', but I'm stuck there. Below the screen, there's the hivoice circle icon, but it doesn't do anything when I click it. I repeatedly saying "hey, celia" many times, with and without pressing the icon, nothing.
I installed GMS and google play. Does that have anything to do with the problem?
Thank you.

Don't think so, because it works on my phone with GMS. Had to set my country to UK though since I'm in Germany. This is with the latest .121 firmware.
Hi, sorry for the late response.
Tried it again the next day, and it worked as it should. I'm guessing there was a server problem on my failed try. My internet was up and running at that time, no problem browsing and watching videos.
can one of you guys export the apk? I'm hopping to be able to use it in a country where its not yet available.
