trident krios dual case google pixel xl - Google Pixel XL Accessories

Just bought this case on Amazon. Reminiscent of the Supcase beetle from the Nexus 6p. Excited to try it out.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MQTN2RS/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Wow does look alot like the beetle. let us know how it is.

Was really disappointed to see that the Beetle changed so drastically (and not necessarily in a good way). Needless to say, I hopped on this case as soon as I saw it. Should be here Saturday ready for a head to head with my UAG. ?

Would like to know how buttons feel? clickiness? responsiveness? How loud compared to no cover? How responsive compared to no cover?

buttons very clicky. No perceived volume effect. touch effect not changed,

Buttons feel very similar to UAG, very responsive and sound almost exactly the same as naked.

My first favourite case was a trident for my Moto x. After that, I had the speck candy shell for Nexus 6P which I loved. My current Caseology is great looking but too slick for my liking. I'll definitely try this once the clear|black is back in stock. Thanks guys for sharing your experience.

How's everyone liking this case. Does lint and dirt get caught in the back crevices?

Looks exactly like the new ones from Supcase what's different?

The new version from supcase is crap. This one mimics the looks of the beetle case they had for the 6p. Which was one of best cases I've ever used. I was really hoping supcase would have used a similar design.

Looks kinda bulky. Is it? How is the grip? They are still out of stock on Amazon.

Trident is good. Dunno about this case.

Diztronic vs Rearth Ringke Case?

Have Tried to find which case do people prefer - Between Rearth Ringke and Diztronic. The owners of both seem to love it, but dint find any comaring one with another - need help in deciding which one to buy( Both available on Amazon)
Those who've used/have Both - Please give the specific details of why/if you like one over the other.
And, Color choice - Grey vs Metallic Black?
Thanks
the Matte Navy Ringke Slim is awesome. Looks great on a N4.

Co-sign. The revised case is awesome, and fits super well. Cut outs are all perfect.

I have Skinomi skin protector on with Ringke. The top-left corner is a little too tight and it pushes the skin protector up a bit. Regardless, I still love the case a lot.
Anyone have any thoughts on Nillkin vs Ringke vs Diztronic?
Have 2 Ringkes and a black Diztronic, of the 3, the white Ringke is by far my favourite. The Diztronic is nice, too but I find it takes away from the visual clean lines of the Nexy where as the Ringkes are so minimal, you don't notice it. Will likely be selling the Dizt shortly.

Of the Ringkes, I have one black and one white. I pondered on the grey as well but did't want to buy too many. The white is simply stunning.
Ringke All the Way!!!
I have both and I'd have to say Ringke is the best of the two. I especially like it because of how clean it is, looking that is. Keeps the phone looking very sleek.
Also, Rearth Ringke has very good customer service. At least with me they have. I pre-ordered the original one, and it had the slight manufacturer defect. I just e-mailed them through amazon asking for a replacement, not a refund. They had the revised edition in my mailbox on December 12th, day after they started shipping. They didn't charge me a dime, and even told me to keep the defected one and how to 'bend' it to correct it. I only sent a single e-mail, and they honored their product. Don't really see that much for accessory providers, at least in my experience.
Edit:
I have an xoskin on my phone with this case, and it doesn't mess with the screen protector at all. The xoskin is actually the best screen protector I've bought so far. I doesn't even feel like it's there. Smooth glossy/glass like movement when swiping.

I vouch for this. Except I contacted them directly towards emails and no response (maybe they dont check those emails? .. not sure, but i got one from [email protected] but I eventually gave in and just called them and the lady was really nice) same case scenario over here. Got it replaced without question, received it Saturday.
Using the Black one here. Eco packaging very nice as well.

I usually always get a Diztronic cases for my devices, until I replace it with a Mercury Pearl Tpu, as they become available outta Korea.
This time since there wasn't any Diztronic yet, so I went for the Nillikin and I am very impressed.
I may still buy a Diztronic eventually if I don't like the Poetic Atmosphere or a Mercury Pearl doesn't come out soon.

Cut corners as....? The Slim Rearth case looks exactly the same on the S3. it's their newer model of their cases whereas GN had everything covered on the sides.
Definitely not junk, I prefer the new style over the old. But the old one provides more protection, the new one i like the material of it a lot more.

Supcase cases (Heavy Duty Holster case + Unicorn Beetle)

Just found these cases on Amazon. I've always been a big fan of these. I've never had the heavy duty holster case before but I've had several of the Unicorn Beetle cases and have loved them. It seems they always have a tight/snug fit that protects the phone nicely with easy-to-use buttons, although I'll hold judgment until I get my case and phone in.

Just so you know there is already a case thread, & I did post about this one and a holster thread a couple days ago. Looking forward to it for sure.
Looks nice hope it gets an AF cutout
I have had great luck with Supcases on other phones and tablets. Love the fitment and the rubber last forever.
Looks like the pictures for both cases on Amazon have been updated. They look really nice and don't interfere with the auto focus sensor. Unicorn Beetle Slim and Pro
Edit: I believe they also added new colors
I like both of them, but more leaning to the slim model. I like the bigger one, but I am always afraid the screen protector will affect screen usage. Anyone have any experience with how the built in screen protectors feel?

I'm actually waiting for a tank case, since I don't care about added bulk. I find it more reassuring. Problem is, the tank case makers don't seem to have committed to making cases for the 6P. Griffin, Ballistic, Trident, and OtterBox are out. Seidio is making one, but I'm not sure which one. I'm hoping for the CONVERT case. Other than that, options seem VERY limited. : /

Yeah, the unicorn beetle cases are absolutely insanely tough. I've thrown my g3 across the room many times and across the asphalt and concrete plant in the case doesn't even have any scratches. Very hard to get off but I don't know that I'll ever use another case again.

Yes, although the built in screen protector is pretty nasty. Easy to remove by pushing it out of the frame and scraping off the adhesive. I have one on my g3 and the buttons are open, but that's probably because the way the g3 sits. Looking at the version for the Nexus it looks like they are completely covered.

This is what I did for the iPhone version. I couldn't stand the built-in protector for more than a day before I ordered glass.
I preordered this case about a month ago and absolutely need this case. After using one on my Motorola nexus 6, and doing construction work for a living its my go to case. I don't know how much longer I can wait for this to ship.... Seems like the date keeps getting pushed back on Amazon.

Only the pro has the built-in plastic protector. Buttons are covered, but still just as effective/responsive. IMO from personal experience, the pro version is complete overkill because the standard cause does such a great job with almost no perceived bulk. Pro only wins out over the standard version if you expect to drop your phone from an extreme height like 15 feet or so. If you, like many, like UAG cases, you'll love this one.

VENA CASE looks excellent

Purchased the VENA clear case. I was looking for a Ringke fusion type case, I but couldn't find one so I went with this option. This is an excellent alternative. I'm very pleased. Very sturdy, fits perfectly (even with tempered glass screen protector) and it's non slippery, while maintaining a minimalist profile. This is just my personal opinion. I couldn't ask for more.

Im on Amazon, im seeing VskinCl and Retain models, which one did you get?
I just got the incipio octane in the mail yesterday. I guess its originally 25 but someone Herr posted a link with a code that made it 11 total so I grabbed it. People were saying they really liked it, imo its decent but nothing to go crazy about.

I don't really like the bugdroid on this phone. The thickness of the case, coupled with the cutouts for the buttons makes it hard for me to press the buttons sometimes. That's why I ordered the Vena case for this phone.
I'm still liking the VENA, I use it for more rough handling like outdoors or exercising... Most days at the office I prefer the PLESON tpu case, vile which is more flexible and has a slimmer profile

Probably the best TPU case for this phone
I posted a review/overview of the Vena VskinTPU cases on Youtube that I cant link because XDA thinks I'm a new user for some reason. I have had mine since the video was mad and alternating carrying them has kept them from yellowing at all. Just perfect TPU implementations. Not a lot of added bulk, good drop protection, and laser-accurate cutouts. They have been a real surprise.
Search 'Moto X Pure 2015 clear TPU' on Youtube to watch it.

Otter box commets

I looked around and couldn't find any threads on otter box so I decided to share my experience.
I have the commuter series because I wanted a glass screen protector and didn't want to go through the effort of punching out the plastic on the defender.
I was a little worried about making my phone super bulky but after putting it on I love the size. It feels very comfortable and safe it's a bit cumbersome to take on and off.
My only complaint is that the port covers seem fragile. I'm a little paranoid since on my defender case for my Nexus 7 both covers broke off do to use.
Last I did attach a popsocket to the back and it sticks fine to the case. I've moved it around a few times and found the best place was just under the print scanner. It makes the phone feel so nice.
I got a commuter for my XL. The power button is very hard to push. I called OtterBox today and they are sending me a new one. Getting a replacement was easy and the guy on the phone was super nice.
I was really happy to see the case is made in the USA and sounds like their customer service is US based as well. I had wrote off OtterBox a long time ago when they started making their cases in China and lowered their warranty period. I started buying Supcase unicorn beetle pro cases and while made in China their price reflected that. Since the pro series isn't available for the XL right now and I needed a case right now I went to Verizon and bought the OtterBox. It's very nice other than the hard to press power button.

Power button feels much better. The case has a silicone sleeve that goes around it with thick buttons so the buttons will feel mushy but it's a trade off that I'm willing to live with.

Super Slim Case

Can anyone recommend a super slim case for the 4XL? Something similar to the Bare Naked case, but either much cheaper or higher quality? the Bare case I had on my 3XL was super cheap quality with rough edges and let a lot of dirt etc in between it and the phone. Have currently got a Caseology case on my 4XL but its pretty bulky.

It's a Caseology Solid Flex Crystal that I have, its not massive but I find it bulky. I think the MNML one sounds very similar to the issues I had with the Bare case, recently you could almost rattle the phone around within the case. Was hoping someone made a decent quality really thin case, I'm not too fussed about drop protection, just need a way to avoid scratches and wear and tear
Spigen thin fit had one on my note10+
I loved the pitaka case on the pixel 2 xl and although they didn't come out with one for the 3 xl, it still worked every though it didn't line up perfectly. Unfortunately i can't use it anymore on the 4. They have no plans to make one either. That's been the best and thinnest feeling case I've used while still being really solid. Such a shame.
I have the mmnl on order so we'll see how that goes. I also have a skin on order as well so i might just go naked with just a skin to protect the back from scratches. With the matte sides, its not slippery at all so i might go that route.

I hear ya on the Pitaka. I love it on my Pixel 2 and was really bummed to see they didn't do one for the 3's and probably won't for the 4's. I wonder if it being a magnetic case interfered with wireless charging? That obviously was not a concern with the 2 and 2XL.

wireless charging shouldnt be the reason though since new iphone and samsung has it too which they still make cases for. I asked and they gave the same answer, due to low demands they have no plans to make one for pixel 4.. The magnet on the pitaka case doesnt cover alot of the case so still works on most wireless chargers. It works inconsistently on the PIxel stand though..

Just don't take it off a lot and you'll be fine.
Here's the MNML vs the ESR Essential Zero (quite a bit thicker than the MNML). https://photos.app.goo.gl/vUBq1HMjPPwAaH6S7
Also, PixelLoyalty is a good discount code.
Have you tried the Spigen Liquid Crystal? It's been my go to case for my past 3 phones (Pixel XL, Pixel 2 XL, and now Pixel 4 XL).

Aw, they must have just pulled it at midnight. P4reddit and MNML20 are others.
Thanks for the pics.
I'm very interested in the MNML and your pics make me more interested.
I ordered the esr essential zero, esr mimic and spigen liquid crystal for my 4xl and ended up keeping the mimic as it felt and looked the best.
I will say the esr essential zero definitely was nicer than the spigen liquid crystal, or should I say slimmer.
The MNML looks to be even slimmer and that's enticing.
Food for thought.
Thanks again.

I have the Spigen Thin Fit for my 4XL, and it's mostly OK, but it sticks up a bit too much for it to be comfortable to use with gestures. Especially since it has really sharp edges. I ended up not using it for that reason. It would have been perfect if the edges didn't stick up so much past the screen on the sides. The grip is really good on my black one, but someone commented that the white one was slippery.
I was messing around and was able to order the totallee thin case for $15. It's regularly $29.
I was wondering if anyone is familiar with it and what the opinion was on it.
It's got a 30 day money back guarantee, so I can return it. I'm intrigued with how thin it's supposed to be.

Peel, MNML, Totallee are all the same/similar.
