Purchased the VENA clear case. I was looking for a Ringke fusion type case, I but couldn't find one so I went with this option. This is an excellent alternative. I'm very pleased. Very sturdy, fits perfectly (even with tempered glass screen protector) and it's non slippery, while maintaining a minimalist profile. This is just my personal opinion. I couldn't ask for more.

I love it as well, my only two annoyances are the scratches and fingerprint magnet, which is found on pretty much every clear/glossy case.
Is this case rigid? How large is the headphone/USB cutout for larger cables?

no, is a slim hybrid with hard plastic on the back and flexible tpu bumper as far as the cut outs go, they're pretty big i have not had any problems plugging in different cables

Where you buy from?
Im on Amazon, im seeing VskinCl and Retain models, which one did you get?
I just got the incipio octane in the mail yesterday. I guess its originally 25 but someone Herr posted a link with a code that made it 11 total so I grabbed it. People were saying they really liked it, imo its decent but nothing to go crazy about.
I was thinking about picking up something else. Had my eye on the cruzerlite bugdroid case. Then I seen this post. Not sure what to do.

Seems like he's talking about this one. I have one on the way. I had a similar case for the Droid Mini, and Turbo. They hold up well, and no matter how clumsy I may be, I never managed to crack a screen. Hopefully this one treats my X just as well.
Thanks...
....Thinking of ordering one, I have a cruzerlite bugdroid on the way, seen it on the 6p, it looked nice, so I ordered one for this phone.

Just ordered mine a few days ago, my only concern is the TPU turning yellowish over time so I opted for the black border, but I have a white/silver frame :/
The Incipio case has a frosted back and silicone bumper and is running at $14 on sale right now, might go for that one too

I don't really like the bugdroid on this phone. The thickness of the case, coupled with the cutouts for the buttons makes it hard for me to press the buttons sometimes. That's why I ordered the Vena case for this phone.
I'm still liking the VENA, I use it for more rough handling like outdoors or exercising... Most days at the office I prefer the PLESON tpu case, vile which is more flexible and has a slimmer profile

Probably the best TPU case for this phone
I posted a review/overview of the Vena VskinTPU cases on Youtube that I cant link because XDA thinks I'm a new user for some reason. I have had mine since the video was mad and alternating carrying them has kept them from yellowing at all. Just perfect TPU implementations. Not a lot of added bulk, good drop protection, and laser-accurate cutouts. They have been a real surprise.
Search 'Moto X Pure 2015 clear TPU' on Youtube to watch it.

I have Skinomi skin protector on with Ringke. The top-left corner is a little too tight and it pushes the skin protector up a bit. Regardless, I still love the case a lot.
Anyone have any thoughts on Nillkin vs Ringke vs Diztronic?
Have 2 Ringkes and a black Diztronic, of the 3, the white Ringke is by far my favourite. The Diztronic is nice, too but I find it takes away from the visual clean lines of the Nexy where as the Ringkes are so minimal, you don't notice it. Will likely be selling the Dizt shortly.

Of the Ringkes, I have one black and one white. I pondered on the grey as well but did't want to buy too many. The white is simply stunning.
Ringke All the Way!!!
I have both and I'd have to say Ringke is the best of the two. I especially like it because of how clean it is, looking that is. Keeps the phone looking very sleek.
Also, Rearth Ringke has very good customer service. At least with me they have. I pre-ordered the original one, and it had the slight manufacturer defect. I just e-mailed them through amazon asking for a replacement, not a refund. They had the revised edition in my mailbox on December 12th, day after they started shipping. They didn't charge me a dime, and even told me to keep the defected one and how to 'bend' it to correct it. I only sent a single e-mail, and they honored their product. Don't really see that much for accessory providers, at least in my experience.
Edit:
I have an xoskin on my phone with this case, and it doesn't mess with the screen protector at all. The xoskin is actually the best screen protector I've bought so far. I doesn't even feel like it's there. Smooth glossy/glass like movement when swiping.

Cut corners as....? The Slim Rearth case looks exactly the same on the S3. it's their newer model of their cases whereas GN had everything covered on the sides.
Definitely not junk, I prefer the new style over the old. But the old one provides more protection, the new one i like the material of it a lot more.

Do you know if anyone else is selling the clear black nillkin case?
I bought THIS a while back and have been happy with it. It was cheap. It feels good in the hand. It doesn't add that much bulk to the phone, (i.e. otterbox type stuff), and gives a bit more security for drops than just a TPU or silicone case. Only problem I've had with it is it peels up the screen protector on the bottom right corner. So yeah, good purchase for under $4.
Thanks for the link. The phone my cousin gave came with an otterbox case. Didn't like it. I really like the nillkin one. Found a grey one. Hopefully same as clear black.

I have a speck case (which I bought from at&t, the day after the phone was released). It looks horrendous, but it does it's job. It's been over a year since it's release, and I've seen some good ones over the web (usually just browse random mobile websites). You'll come across something you like.
I've gone to not using a case though, as I really like the slim candybar feel.
I used to use an Otterbox...but the port covers fell off so I tried the Trident Kraken. The case looks really nice but it is SUPER BULKY. I was surprised at first how big the case was. I like the case and the how it looks...but I probably wouldn't buy it again

That's what I got after I ditched the otterbox. The kraken ams case is average at best. Bulky as **** and the top left part of the plastic piece that fits on the screen side decided to to snap and break. Didn't drop it or anything just pulled it out of my pocket weird and the skinny piece of plastic snapped clean in two. I have since taken the outer plastic shell off and have been using the silicone innards as a case. Doesn't even fit right and its entirely too loose to really be useful. I don't have a choice until I get another case.
Thinking about getting either he incipio hard shell or whatever its called or a seidio active

Overall though, I can't recommend it since it cracked. I've been running caseless for a while now. Its nice.
Hi
I'm just looking for some advice.
I'm using a Spigen Slim Armour currently and whilst I love the case I find it's a little bit slippery and the lip on the front is a little too shallow for my liking.
I cant decide whether to get an Otterbox Commuter or Cygnett Workmate. I've never owned cases from either but Otterbox is a brand name I recognise.
I like the workmates protection --- the drop test is convincing but there are reports about the charging port being too small.
The otterbox looks like it might be a bit slippery and may not offer the same protection.
Any advice welcome!

I currently use an otterbox commuter. I think for the protection it offers it's not that bulky.
It still easily fits in the breast pocket of my military uniform without being all that noticeable.
Plus otterbox has awesome customer service and warranty. I've gotten several brand new cases from them over the years when port covers broke off or if I had other issues with the case.

No need to worry. Yes, the charging port is too small (narrow) for the stock S4 charger, but one sharp knife and five minutes later... problem solved.
I received my Workmate Evolution earlier this week, and got my S4 this morning. Sure enough, the charging port was too narrow. I took a sharp knife and raked it across the upper and lower surfaces of the case's port, holding the blade at a 90° angle to the surface. Thus, abrading it rather than cutting it. Took about five minutes.
In Cygnett's defense, the OEM charger plug is much bigger than any other micro USB cable plug I own.
Hours into owning the phone, I can say I'm happy with both it and the Cygnett case.

+1 for otterbox.
I've been using it since iphone 4.
I recall dropping it from 6 feet on concrete.
The corner of hard shell broke but my iphone was flawless. They also sent me a replacement case and honoured on their lifetime warranty policy.
As for s4 commuter, I personally find it a 'little' slippery but not as much as a naked s4.

I absolutely love both Otterbox and Cygnett. In the past, I've had issues with Otterbox's silicone warping out of shape. The new one on my wife's HTC One (which is identical to the one I tested on my S4 earlier) is way better than the older versions. Went with Cygnett this time purely based on aesthetics as I think the Cygnett looks wayyyyyy better.
The main differences in protection are that the commuter cases have the hard polycarbonate closer to the edges, while cygnett offers a wider tpu layer. The lip above the screen on the workmate is slightly higher than that of the Commuter. Cygnett's TPU is harder though I can't offer an opinion on if its better or worse (though it means the fit on the Cygnett is slightly better, espcially around the sections where the hard bits clamp around the soft bits). I think the hard shell is thinner but the TPU thicker on the workmate
Usage wise, the Cygnett is slightly grippier than the otterbox. The button presses slightly less mushy. The edge of the lip on the front is sharper and you'll notice it though it's not uncomfortable. I like the fact that the ports are uncovered, but the reports are right. The hole for the USB port is too narrow. I can't fit the original cable in, however it's not a deal breaker for me as I have 3 other cables and chargers. Nothing a sharp hobby knife can't fix though.
To be honest, unless the sharper edge on the front lip or usb port hole size are deal breakers, I would recommend the Cygnett. That being said, both are pretty good cases, and you can't go wrong with either when it comes to protection.

Hey figsalan101,
Nick here form Cygnett, mate.
Sorry to hear about that the charger port isn't lining up correctly with the WorkMate Evolution, we have had a few reports of this happening.
The issue of the charging port has been fixed and all of the cases we are introducing into the market now are working correctly. You entitled to a refund or exchange at the point of purchase if you'd like to.
Regards,
Nick
I went for the black Cygnett Workmate Evolution in the end and love it - thanks for the advice.
The ports are all correct - I bought it directly from Cygnett's website and I guess they have fixed the issues with the earlier ones.
The buttons are still a little stiff even after a couple of weeks use.. but it's a small price to pay for the protection.
I have dropped it once already when getting out of my car. It bounced on my driveway a couple of time without any visible damage.
I still like my Spigen Neo Hybrid, Slim Armour and UAG Scout but none offer the protection I need at work... and excellent grip.
I was wondering which case is better than the other?
I'm looking to keep the nexus 4 slim, sexy, and functional.
I narrowed it down to these two cases because of the clicky tactile feels (on the fusion revision) and the original bumper while maintaining slimness.
I got the bumper a week after I received my phone. Well, not the official one, but a replica of the LG one that's sold in the Play Store. The one I received off Amazon seemed fine, but after about a week of normal use, 2 cracks appeared - one on the bottom where the USB is, and the other on the power button.
I think that they appeared because of plugging in the phone and clicking the power button turning it on and off. The material (metal-looking plastic) that surrounds the bumper is flimsy on it's own, and with a certain amount of pressure and heat from the phone, it's prone to cracking.
If you Google around you'll find that a lot of people have had the same problem with the official one. I bought the same bumper for my friend too, but his is holding up well so far, so I'm not sure. The bumper seemed to have a tighter fit on his N4 whereas mine felt a little loose. He has been using it for a couple months as his was the first wave of N4 that were shipped out. I just got mine a little less than a month ago.
Switched over to the Ringke Fusion based on the number of excellent reviews it got both on XDA and Amazon. Took about a week to get here and because it is the revision, the buttons are clicky and give a good feedback. The case also doesn't add much bulk at all. While I do like the heft of carrying around the phone naked, the glass panels scare me. I never used cases on my old phones, but then again, they were plastic and metal. They sure could take a hit!
The Fusion makes the N4 feel more solid as it is, and it works well with wireless chargers. The only complaint I have about it is the back clear plastic tends to dirty quite easily, with scuffs, fingerprints. But then again, who takes time out of their day to gander at the back of the phone. Sure it's pretty but you'll be spending more of your time messing around with the front.
Where'd you find the official bumper for 13?

I remember when i bought my N4, I kept buying different bumpers because either they were too tight [messed up my screen protector], too bulky or did not protect my phone good enough. In January, I bought Ringke Fusion; been using it since then . Its not one of those cheap bumpers, you will definitely feel the quality. Its fits the phone very well and you wont feel the size of it in your hand or in your pocket.

It's a replica. The real ones are sold on the play store. If it says official elsewhere and is less than the price you would normally pay, chances are it's not official. Anyone can say it's official but it isn't.

I got both . Currently sporting the white OEM bumper. Before that I sported the Ringke Fusion. I will continue using the Fusion when I travel to like Disney lol.

Same. I got the fusion and the white OEM bumper.
To the OP: if you haven't seen it yet, the poetic bumpers are pretty good.
Stopped using my white OEM one cause it turned yellow on the sides and can't clean it no matter what I try.

I'm gonna use the hella out of the OEM white bumper because I got it for free .
The bumper makes the phone really wide

I got ringke fusion, official bumper, the white look alike of fusion and poetic. I wanna use my fusion but my tempered glass doesn't fit well with it. I'll rather go with the fusion because of its solid feeling but the bumper is good.

I got the Ringke Fusion. IT shows fingerprints REALLY bad - much worse than the back glass - and the fingerprints aren't easy to clean off unless you use water. I ended up taking it off and using the bumper I got free before finding another case.

Fingerprints to me don't show as bad when I put my dbrand skin on. I hardly notice any unless I view the back at an angle.

We talking about regular prints..? Cuz my hands are always clean, and while it definitely attract prints, a quick swipe from my t-shirt takes them right off.

So the Google bumper on amazon is fake and the fusion case attracts a butt load of finger prints
I see that most people tell me that they are using bumper instead... What bumper? Poetic?

LOL I would personally get the Fusion, and yes, most bumpers online are replicas even if they are in LG packaging. The normal bumpers cost about 20bux (USD) so that's a good gauge in authentic or not.
There's a thread somewhere comparing the packaging but basically, if there's a holo sticker on the back, mine is square that reads "Original accessories by LG".
GL
Bumper
Wider
Looks better
Less protection
Ringke
Better protection
Lets you create custom designs to insert behind the plastic
horrible protruding creases on the back of the case. - rough to the touch
picks up fingerprints and dust way too easily.
I use bumper for everyday use and if i'm going to be somewhere outside for a long while where i won't have a place to put my phone safely away i use the ringke.

Does the Ringke Fusion case fit properly with a dbrand skin on? Was looking on getting the case but was not sure if it would fit on, as I have a dbrand carbon skin on the back.

Yes it fits fine. I have a custom and that's technically two skins of thickness in my areas and fits fine.
For those of you feeling the pain with me from manufacturers not producing cases for the Moto X Pure, I reached out to Diztronic yesterday. They produce really well-designed and high quality TPU cases. I have never owned a shoddy case from them. They provided good news that cases for this device will be coming soon.
Sweet, I will probably getting one.
This is awesome, Diztronic has by far the best cases I have used. My last two phones (OPO and iPhone 6 Plus) I used their cases.
Pretty good company, I hope they make a bumper... Or something to show off my ash wood back
Great news

Motorola is shipping them with a bumper this year so rest assured that you'll be able to show off your ash. Heh. Post a pic of it when it comes too I'm interested to see how it looks. I'm personally torn between bamboo or walnut with red accents
God I hope they make a transparent back
Great news. I purchased multiple cases for my devices. And one of them is always Diztronic. Simple, clean, always a perfect fit, just enough protection without bulking up a phone too much. And generally reasonably priced on Amazon.

I love their cases. I never had a screen break when using one of their cases. And that's with some hard drops. I'm only considering bumpers though.

This is a two-part case, inner hard case and outer TPU bumper. According to the description anyway. A 2-part case is sure to add bulk. Not quite what I am looking for like from Diztronic.

Diztronic just listed cases for Moto X Play on Amazon and their website, so hopefully the Moto XPE cases will be soon.

Here is a video of the same case (i-blason) for the galaxy s6 for reference. I wish it was thinner but otherwise it looks very good. Probably the best to show off your motomaker design. I wonder if the clear tpu will get discolored.

I had asked Diztronic a week ago on status and received the exact same response as author of the original post...so no ETA yet. Disappointing. Also noticed Zagg is not supporting this phone either.
Pure isn't getting any love from case makers....
Sent from my Moto X Pure
Pure has no love from most accessory makers. Motorola probably didn't do what's necessary ($$$) to get that moving.
