AboutThe existence of mAid (abbreviation for [m]anage your [A]ndro[id]) has a simple reason. I wanted to have something where I were able to point users to when they came with issues on Windows because the most problems around were solvable when using Linux (for my personal special use cases) ...
Spoiler: Click to reveal more...
The only issue with Linux (even with Ubuntu, Mint and such) is that they do not include everything an Android user needs (out-of-the-box). You still have to issue commands to install and you have to make other adjustments like udev rules etc. Nothing a "normal" Windows user can/want do without guide-lining.
That was the main reason why I started mAid.
For those not familiar with the above: do you have ever thought:
... Windows is not detecting my Android phone?!
... adb, fastboot?? what are you talking about?"
... or do you just wanna support someone who is using Windows and having issues?
and of course:
... you have re-installed the drivers of your phone's vendor.
... you have re-downloaded the newest one from the the vendor's homepage as well
... you checked other drivers and uninstalled and rebooted hundreds of times
........ it still does not work!
This is where this Live ISO should help you out. The main purpose of this project is:
... give you a quick and just working start to use the standard Android tools like adb and fastboot with ease
... No driver hassle
... No complicated installation of android tools
... if still nothing works: activating a remote support tool (teamviewer or tmate) so a friend can help you out
... just download, flash and enjoy
mAid: a maid which helps to [m]anage your [A]ndro[id]that's all about it
Features
See Post #3
DownloadmAid is available as stable and nightly release.
Obviously the stable release is preferred as it is tested and everything should work.
A nightly is a snapshot of the current development and so might fix an issue you currently have. So if the stable release does not work for you give a nightly a try
Main & Fast Download Server (stable releases):
SourceForge
Slow Mirror Download Server (stable releases):
leech.binbash.rocks
Nightlies:
Note: These builds are completely untested and unsupported but the most current you can get: leech.binbash.rocks
Installation1. Decide how to use mAid:
Flash mAid with Etcher (recommended)
Flash mAid with Rufus(if Etcher fails)
attach mAid to a VirtualBox VM
2. Boot mAid
3. Set your language at the top right
4. Login with username/password: android / linux
5. Enjoy

LEGACY - FWUL Changelog
All new mAid releases will release their changelog here .
The following contains the changes for all pre v4.0 releases for historical reasons.
Spoiler: click here to reveal the legacy changelogs
FWUL_v3.2_x86-64 (forgetful/ISO only)
Released: 2020-09-13
Reason: Maintenance release
Download: Go to the Download section in the OP
All closed issues for this release: see the Milestone tracking
Full Changelog (this version VS. previous): git commits
Summary Changelog:
Fresh Manjaro Arch Linux base from the day of release (means all OS packages are top current)
new look & feel by a new icon and desktop theme
backported from v4.0: new installer dialogs (goodbye ugly terminal outputs)
backported from v4.0: SALT's new requirements are pre-installed now
backported from v4.0: AMD graphic support for newer models
backported from v4.0: fully pre-pkg all installers. this one is incredible important to keep the installers working without doing a full system upgrade. Previously once times passes by and you wanted to use the installers the package (e.g. spflashtools, teamviewer) got downloaded by the normal way. As everything depends on each other that could result in hundreds of Megabytes if not a full system upgrade at the end. Useless and annoying for a live ISO. The new approach will fully pre-package all dependencies directly within the build process so they will always fit exactly to the release. That way even if you start v3.2 in 3 years it will just download the pre-packaged file which contains all you need.

FWUL_v3.0.2_x86-64 - PERSISTENT ONLY
Released: 2019-01-15
Reason: Maintenance release, ONLY for persistent builds
A patch has been released for FWUL persistent builds.
Patching a persistent build is handled by the FWUL LivePatcher which can be found on the desktop.
Due to many under-the-hood changes (mainly the repo URL path changed and that required adjusting several files) the following procedure is needed to upgrade correctly to the latest release:
double-click "FWUL LivePatcher"
click "Check & Download Patches" button!
once finished click "Start LivePatcher" and wait until it finishes
you will be prompted to re-open the LivePatcher as there was an update for the LivePatcher itself
you should be informed that your FWUL version is now 3.0.1
close the LivePatcher and re-open it
click again on "Check & Download Patches" button!
once finished click "Start LivePatcher" and wait until it finishes
you should be informed that your FWUL version is now 3.0.2
if something goes wrong do this in a terminal:
Code:
tar cvzf flu.tgz /var/log/fwul
and attach the resulting flu.tgz file in your post.
Summary Changelog:
changed repository patch for FWUL LivePatcher to gitlab

Fresh Manjaro Arch Linux base from the day of release (means all OS packages are top current)
Versions of the main FWUL components for this release:
Kernel -> version: 4.19.13-1 (major upgrade)
ADB and fastboot: android-tools -> version: 9.0.0_r18-1 (major upgrade)
simple-adb GUI -> version: update6
SALT -> version: 3.21-4
ROME -> version: 1.0-1 (newly added)
TeamViewer (req user install) -> version: 14.0 (major upgrade)

heimdall-git -> version: 1.4.2.r7.ga2cfdaa-1
xfwm4 -> version: 4.12.5-1
lightdm -> version: 1:1.28.0-1

virtualbox-guest-utils -> version: 6.0.0-1 (major upgrade)
firefox -> version: 64.0-1
hexchat -> version: 2.14.2-1
testdisk-wip -> version: 7.1-1
tmate -> version: 2.2.1-2
new: added MiFlash for Xiaomi devices - read the short summary in FWUL included tools & installers
new: finally pre-configured hexchat
new: added two android boot image manipulating tools
new: added an even more clear Virtualization warning in the welcome screen
new: added [ROM][E] an extract tool for ROMs - read the short summary in FWUL included tools & installers
new: polished up wallpaper
fix: from now on FWUL supports (partly) system upgrades (see issue #63)! This means:
- you CAN update FWUL (using the desktop icon for adding/removing software or within a terminal: trizen -Syu --noconfirm)
- you will NOT be able to update the kernel, virtualbox guest utils or any other kernel related module(s) (they are excluded automatically so just for info)
- you will NOT be able to update to newer FWUL releases. This will ALWAYS require a re-install as changing that would require an incredible amount of work and resources, update servers etc.
there are more fixes/changes: follow the above full changelog/milestone link!

The following known issue and workaround exists for this particular release:
I cannot connect password protected wireless network...only free to air connects. When I click on password connected wireless network., it simply don't open.
Click to collapse
There is a package missing which will be included in the next build.
You can still use Beta-3 when you do this after booting (The procedure has to be repeated on every boot):
click on the WiFi you want to connect to. nothing will happen but it is needed for the next step.
right-click on the network symbol in the panel and select "edit connections"
you should see the WiFi you tried to connect to --> click on it and then on edit
open tab "WiFi security" and type in the WiFi key
Save it and it should connect
If you can connect once by cable you can follow this instead:
Connect the network cable
Open a terminal (look at the panel at the bottom - black window with c:\ in it)
type in that terminal:
sudo pacman -S gnome-keyring
you will be asked for your password (linux) and then press Enter when asked to install it
Disconnect the network cable
Afterwards it will work. No reboot. Just try again

It didn't detect my phone as well, even changing the usb cable, i think my problem is in my LG G4, I can't even use an OTG on it. Does someone know what it could be? It happened after unrooting my phone.

It's not because I can use my Xbox 360 wireless adapter, my external hard drive, other phones, my headset, everything.

It didn't detect for phone ?
Can you elaborate ?
When you connect the phone you get nothing on the file manager ?
Does adb devices help ?
Is USB debugging enabled in the phone ?
If you have twrp installed can you boot into twrp and then try it .
Also do you have the latest BETA ?

When I plug my G4 on every USB port it only charges, trying FWUL nothing has happened, in Windows it says it's not recognizing, adb devices doesn't help, I already tried debugging enabled and disabled and it doesn't matter, I have unrooted my G4 and can't root or flash a new ROM, I still have the superSU installed.
In G4 it seems like I'm connecting it on a charger, I don't have the mtp option in notification bar, I used to have it but now it only charges.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Known Issues (regarding latest available build)
Please do not report bugs if it is already listen in the list of known issues
Audio HAL isn't working correctly, causing VOIP issues, HDMI audio instabilities and mixer paths conflicts
STK Toolkit isn't working yet, SMSs aren't properly sent (RIL issue)
SELinux policies are almost complete, with just some minor missing rules
Wireless Display (or Miracast if you like) stream is corrupted, buffer issues
Adoptable Storage isn't stable, crashes while encrypting the external storage (Kernel Panic). Read Here: http://goo.gl/0w6DPt
Device Encryption isn't stable for the same issue that affects Adoptable Storage
Reporting Bugs
First of all, read this: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs
You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread. Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running as stock as possible. This means no custom kernel, no custom framework modification, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the rom again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.
REPORT BUGS IN THIS THREAD ONLY
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. The following is a useful format to follow. Note: If you can provide the latest night/build that the bug didn't exist, it would greatly help in tracking down what caused it.

Important! Read this before any other question/doubt.
If someone doesn't like my ROMs, or doesn't like me, or even better, doesn't want to like/appreciate my works, then you can just go ahead and use/follow someone else works. Easy, not against XDA rules, and smart.
I'm not here for "fame" (or "glory" as someone in this forum said) unlike someone else, neither this is my job. I'm working on this device just because TW is far than usable (at least for me) on every Samsung device, not because someone else requested me to do it.

Differences between GearCM (Optimized CyanogenMod) and Official CyanogenMod (NIGHTLY):
Degrated Shadow said:
Enough of those dumb questions..
The Official CM rom is maintained by @Alberto96 and @intervigil
He makes the very recent changes here relating to performance...which are then in time pushed (even if partially) to CM Official Sources. The kernel is different because it has seLinux disabled and few minor tweaks you might not even notice...this GearCM ROM will have more performance. But CM will have their updated base changes which are included here with each update.
What I mean is you probably wont even notice what's different in terms of user interface. GearCM will have more performance. Official CM will have updated sources. But it will include GearCM's changes in time as @Alberto96 pushes them to CM
You can decide by a simple choice..more performance and not-nightly updated sources or similar/worse performance (improving with nightly updates) with updated sources. I would choose GearCM because of the reasons i mentioned above. Do what you will...and let this be a note to everybody who ask this again and again and again. Don't spam the thread with same question in every alternate page...because there are other people who might have different problems they need to ask. Read at least 15 previous pages and the first post Changelog before asking the question. Reading most of the times will give you a solution and if not most of the info you will read will help you anyway.

Where is "Developer Options" category?
To activate 'Developer Options' category in Settings you need to tap 7 times on 'Build number' located into Settings -> About Phone.
What can i do to fix VOIP audio calls?
There's not a real fix yet, so i found this useful workaround that could help you.
If you need to make a VOIP call:
1) Play something using stock music player (also third-party music players SHOULD be fine)
2) Do not pause audio playback
3) Make a call using your preferred VOIP app.
Or you can just use a Wired Headphone/Headset | BT Headphone/Headset.
This workaround should work also for incoming VOIP calls.
How can i solve problems with Hebrew language?
Go to "Developer Options" in Settings and check "Force RTL layout direction".
What can i do to reduce the "echo effect" while in-call?
Try to reduce in-call earpiece volume (if possible). Shouldn't be required on latest builds.
I'm having problems with battery life, what can i do?
1) Use "Greenify" to hibernate all apps with a "little cloud + 'Gcm' word inside" on the right of each app's name. Donation version is recommended because it allows deeper hibernation of apps
2) Disable "Location" or set it to mode "Battery Saving" (Settings -> Location)
3) Make sure that your 2G/3G mobile network signal level isn't always low or unstable
4) Deny "Wake Up" and "Keep Awake" permissions to Google and third-party apps. (Settings -> Privacy -> Privacy Guard -> Press menu button and check "Show built-in apps" -> Press menu button again and go to Advanced -> Horizontal Scroll to Device)
5) Disable "Sync" or sync only useful stuff like Contacts
6) Disable "Auto-rotate screen" (Settings -> Display & lights -> Rotation)
7) Use one of the latest Modem/Baseband listed on first post.
8) Disable Ambient Display
9) Install Xposed Framework and configure Amplify
If this isn't enough then replace your battery and/or reduce your phone usage. :silly:
Is GearCM OTA supported?
Yes (Since 20150707 Build)
Why is my phone over-heating while playing heavy-games or running heavy-apps?
Use a bit your brain to explain why. High CPU and GPU usage = high heat production. Your phone will automatically throttle CPU when needed so don't worry, it is safe and normal.
Can I use another kernel instead of the one included in the zip?
No. Only use the included kernel for 100% compatibility, bug reports with non-standard kernel will be ignored.
Can i disable S-View cover features (lock/unlock)?
Not yet.
*** IR Remote app isn't working anymore/was working on previous builds/causes my phone to crash, what can i do?

[APP][2.2+] CodenvyDownload 1.0-BETA1

There is a online (cloud) IDE with which users can work on various languages including Android.
But to test the APK in a real device is a pain as the APK needs to be manually downloaded and installed in a Mobile device. The following application is to ease this process.
This App can be used to trigger remote build and download the project artifact (An android application APK) and trigger installation of downloaded APK in the device.
Usage:
1. Go to Setup
2. Login using Codenvy Credentials
3. Select the Workspace & Project for which APK needs to be downloaded
4. Go back
5. Click on 'Build Download & Install'
6. The Project gets build and the generated APK gets downloaded and installed automatically

The development of the mate 7 AOSP android 6

I am still working on the thread
After the development of the AOSP for the mate 7 hit the wall I made this thread to gather the developers efforts to make this dream come to life
What we have here is a astock rom for the mate 7 all that it need is some rebooting or crashing bugs only lefted all we need is agood devoleper or two and some time for them and it can be completed
I stepped the first step to learn development but not even a close to give help
Any one can ask for help from a developer or can fix some bugs will be a great help
We have 4 places or more to ask for developers help in
Xda site and Huawei club site in both Huawei mate 7 and honor 6 section

Any one have any news about it can write it here
We can update the post with every news
Would it be possible for me to get a bug list for the current status of the project. Although I don't have the device I can definitely see if I could take a look at it. No promises though
There's still a way to get AOSP to the mate 7.
Last resort: Find a dev and pay him. On reddit r/android you could find devs. Perhaps if everybidy whos interested pays a minor fee, the dev is willing to help us.

[PORT][ALPHA][MT6735] Lineage OS 14.1 for brown 1 (V4701_I01)

Code:
*** Disclamer
* I'm not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed (like it did for me...).
* YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
* Your warranty will be void if you tamper with any part of your device / software.

[QUOTE]
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1.2 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.
LIneageOS 14.1 has now been ported from source and is available for the Brown 1. This ROM is not recommended to be used as a daily driver because of its issues. As usual do not hesitate to let us know of any issues regarding this ROM.

• Congrats, Bootloader is now unlocked!
2. After unlocking the bootloader, flash TWRP via PC.
• Before proceeding, please make sure that you have already downloaded all the files in your SD Card, otherwise, your Brown 1 will encounter a bootloop.

• Locate where the Custom ROM is stored and look for this file “lineage-14.1-20190525-UNOFFICIAL-V4701_I01.zip"
• And then, Flash it.
• After flashing it, flash Google Apps by looking for “open_gapps-arm64-7.1-mini-20190119.zip”
