This car charger support Huawei FCP
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Compatible-with-HuaWei-FCP-IBD-universal_60481400296.html

I've been using this one for a month or two now. Works fine: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/ITI...32633009425.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.wVRln2

Can anyone confirm that quick charge really works? I mean there is a quick charge notification in the lock screen and the two thunderbolts instead of simple charging and one thunderbolt?
@tap007 @perzan07 @evilpaul13
As long as I know most of the market chargers support Qualcomm Quick Charge in any of its three versions. QC 3.0 has backward-compatible with QC 2.0 and QC 1.0 devices so buying a QC 3.0 is the simplest answer for a devices that use a Qualcomm processor but Honor 8 uses a HiSilicon Kirin 950.
QC 1.0 is 5V and 2.0A and QC 2.0 and 3.0 are 5/9/12V 3A. The chargers have a driver based in Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage (INOV) to know how to charge the phone. I've read somewhere that Huawei QuickCharger has it own charging protocol and can charge QC 2.0 devices but a QC 2.0 charger cannot charge a Huawei (not Qualcomm) device.
So what I expect from all of those quick chargers in the market is that NOT recognise the Honor 8 as a compatible device and give it less than 5V 2A (10W), probably 5V 1A (5W) that are not the 9V 2A (18W) expected.
That's why I ask for a confirmation that charger and device recognise themselves and quick charge is really activated.
PS: In their webpage, Aukey says the following: "AUKEY AiPower Adaptive Charging Technology gives all your USB powered devices exactly what they need with up to 2.4A per Ai USB Port." and "Combine AUKEY AiPower with Qualcomm Quick Charge in a single USB port and you get PowerAll Adaptive Charging for all USB powered devices. One USB charging port to rule them all!" so maybe their chargers are compatible but I still looking for a confirmation somewhere. (I don't trust too much Alibaba, aliexpress, eBay... product descriptions).
Thanks!

I've gotten two chargers off there and both, including the car one I linked, support Huawei's Fast Charge. I get the Fast Charge message, my battery icon turns green AIDA64 says I'm charging at >1A. My battery has been lasting long enough I haven't bothered charging it in the car much though.

for the time being available only in china but maybe it will come also to other countries: HUAWEI SuperCharge CAR charger http://www.vmall.com/product/944393591.html

I was unable to order them so I ordered an Aukey one with AiPower that I think could work. If does I'll post it here. If not I'll resell it to someone with a QC device. Thanks for the advice!

Well I've received the Aukey charger and I've to say that the info I read on some forums is wrong and it is not compatible with our device (and probably not compatible with any not Qualcomm Huawei/Honor device). The item bought was that:
http://www.ebay.es/itm/252404366500?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
It official info here:
https://www.aukey.com/products/dual...ick-charge-2-0-aipower-with-usb-a-to-c-cable/
Review:
It came with 2 high quality USB cables, one microUSB and one USB-C. It looks as a high end product and works fine as a regular charger. May be your car charger if you are the owner of a Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 compatible device. About the seller just say it took 4 weeks to be in my place (one week less than average China packages).
Check pics attached. Regards.

I have the Elephone "Tornado" charger on order from the 'Bay, and supposedly it supports HFCP AND comes with dual charging ports.

I have this one for the car. I never see "fast charging" when using either port, but it does charge faster than a standard "cheap" car charger.

Any updates on the charger ?

Huawei does not support FAST CHARGING, it has its own unique charging which is Super Fast Charging, if you bought a car charger or any charger and use it and it did not show Super Fast charging Notification or your battery icon on the upper right has no 2 electric logo inside the battery icon it means you bought the wrong charger.

Hi
You have to look for Huawei AP32 it's Original Huawei wall charger
and Huawei AP38 it's Genuine Huawei Car charger.

Just to add more info regarding the ''fast charging''
I have orderd from ebay some cheap usb type C cable
And it works fine and gives the ''fast charge'' messege and I have
tested it ... it also takes same time in minutes to charge the phone..
So that means it has no difference to use that usb cable..
Some of my phones as soon as I changed the usb cable were not fast charging
That why I am reporting it ..

To anyone interested, I searched Nillkin's site for Honor 8 accessories and it gave a result for a car charger, called Nillkin Celerity Car Charger. It does support 9V/2A so I believe it should work with Honor 8.
I also found it in eBay cheaper than in Nillkin's site.
Also, Huawei Honor AP31 car charger should the job. It does support quick charge. Found it in eBay for about 25 US$.
P.S. Sorry but I cannot post links, since this is my first post.

Fast Charging "Homemade". What are the risks?

I lost my original Fast Charger in my school and now I'm without one. The problem is, that sometimes I need that great feature.
My question is, can I disassembly a random 9V charger and "adapt" a Micro-USB cable to it? Since the GS6 supports 9V I don't see a problem there. Or must I short some data pins in order to enable fast charging to not fry the device?
Why don't you just buy a new one?
I definitely think that's not a good idea. Buy a new one. If you are worried about Samsung charger price you can buy a cheaper charger that support Qualcomm 2.0 quickcharge, it's compatible.
I thought the whole thing was dynamic, that at lower battery levels it charges at different amperage than higher levels, and at a certain point it kicks over to 5V. It doesn't charge at 9V the whole time.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using XDA Free mobile app
@quarlow is right, it's dynamic.
You should buy a new one, much more safe.
If I plug a normal 'old' 600mA 5V charger to it, it says that it will charge in 6 HOURS! I can't wait for that.
I have disassembled the charger, unsolded the Female USB plug and solded it to an 9V charger from an TP-Link Switch.
I plugged it in and the phone started charging. It says "Cable charging" instead of "Fast charging" and it stated 6 hours too. After that, I shorted the data pins and then the time reduced to 2 hours...
I also tried a 12V charger (1.5A), but it don't charged, nor maked any charging sound.
Now I concluded two things:
1. Samsung S6 phones are very robust with charger voltages :silly:
2. It isn't that easy to make a fast charger.
I hope I have saved some questions now

Thanks for all the replies, but now I haven't money to buy one. Where I live, they are really expensive!
Oh, aaand, I don't know if it's a good idea to charge at 9V the whole time, because when it reaches 100%, I hear constantly the charging sound.

Thanks, I will search for an 9V charger that has this amperage.
Btw, some chargers have adaptive 12V output.... Is that QuickCharge 3.0?
A normal Samsung or LG charger of 1.8A/2A output still charge my S6 in about 1.5 hours. Get one from a relative or friend or buy one if the S6 charger is too costly

You gotta be kidding. Spend $10 and get a QuickCharge 2.0 adapter.
Don't risk it. Samsung Fast Charge is the same thing as Qualcomm Quick Charge. It's Qualcomm's technology, licensed with no loyalty fee.
QuickCharge 2.0 uses the data pins to negotiate the charge voltage with your power adapter. Otherwise it just uses 5V.
I see on my S6 it stays at 9V all the time. The phone pulls the current it needs, so you don't have to try to match that current on the power adapter side. Just make sure it's at least 1.6A, preferably 2A. I never saw my S6 pulling 2A at 5V or 9V.
I'd imagen as this a form for devs . And this guy is trying to create somthing . The devs would be a bit more yaknow . Creative. First off
The guy is trying to make the adaptive charger .give him a bit of credit . I'm currently making a portable charger and I want it to use samsung fast charge
I'm using 18650 battery's 4.2 volts fully charged 3.7 volts give or take when they sag.
So if there is anyone with half a brain out there. How do you get the 9v (8.4) amp to make it a fast charger ( under one and a half hours. ) I'll worry about building the switch to the 5 volts after ( 4.2)
Is it loop the pins . Pin to earth pin to positive loop pins to negative ) the information isn't out there so surely some one has the information. ( just FYI the sgs6 is perfectly capable of being charged at 9 volts. The battery is a nine volt according to the build information explains why charging with any other charger takes 6 hours. .
Also to the op if you did indeed have a similar idea to me just tell erm straight I wanna mess about with low current and voltage dc haha. ( also I tried 18 volts samsung phones do no alow the charge over 9volts so it cannot hurt you're phone

replacement charger or third-party charger

I've spent a solid half hour searching every place I can think of, but haven't come up with anything. Has anyone managed to find a third-party replacement charger that will activate rocket charging (double lightning bolts), or found a place that sells OEM replacement chargers (especially in/to the UK)?
In India, its available only at the service centres for Rs. 1600 (GBP 19).
Thanks. Lenovo or Motorola service centres?
Any news of any third-party chargers that actually work with rocket?

Thanks, but I literally just got a refund for a very similar product on ebay about 10 minutes ago. Sellers list the same item, which is a general "adaptive quick charger," for dozens of phones and don't bother to find out if they will work.
It seems that Lenovo's is somewhat proprietary and any old adaptive fast charger won't work.
Hi
I can confirm this car charger works in fast charging mode for the P2 and S7 Edge, it a multi standard charger
The P2 uses MTK Pump express so you need to look for a charger that supports this.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/IBD...-Mobile-Phone-Travel-Adapter/32812410639.html
I can really recommend the IBD charger its really well built and works with other phones as well so future proofed as well
I live in the UK and it took about 9 days for delivery from the seller above
Thanks! This is really helpful, much appreciated.
It looks like the following Sony phones also support MTK Pump Express charging: (as per http://bit.ly/2vH9wfl)
-Xperia™ XA/XA Dual SIM
-Xperia™ XA Ultra/XA Ultra Dual SIM
-Xperia™ XA1
-Xperia™ XA1 Ultra
I've gone ahead and ordered a charger from this link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162631584402 , which specifically mentions the MTK compatibility. I'll check back in and let everyone know if it works.
The info in this thread sounds wrong. The Lenovo P2 doesn't use mediatek chipset, so it shouldn't have MTK Pump Express charging. However, I've charged my P2 using 2 different Quick charge 2.0 chargers and they work with the double lightning bolts.
Since the chipset is a qualcomm snapdragon, I would've thought only QuickCharge 2.0 (or 3.0) chargers would work. But @imi2003 has experience to the contrary so I won't fight him on that.

Just editing this post coz I've actually clicked through to your link. I don't know why you say that's an MTK Pump Express Charger. @ericastill Just buy any charger on amazon UK that claims to have Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0.[/QUOTE]
My QC 2.0 charger (which worked fine on an S7 edge and G5 plus) won't quick charge my P2. It's not impossible that there's something wrong with my phone, though everything else is working fine.
In any case the sony charger I ordered supports both Pump Express and QC 3.0, so maybe that will do it.
Hi all
Just to clarify the car charger I linked to in my previous post, supports the following charging modes
QC 2.0 ,QC 3.0, MTK PE2.0, Huawei FCP/SCP
I got the charging specs from a different forum which I have linked below.
ht t ps : / /w3bsit3-dns.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=761560&st=7760
I hope this goes some way to end the confusion around charger compatibility. It might be a idea to make a sticky somewhere with proper specs.
If the P2 was QC 3.0 then the P2 wall charger would fast charge my S7 Edge, which it doesn't.

The P2 charger has a capacity of 25W. So find a charger of that same capacity and you can get the fast charging in Lenovo P2.

Do not give wrong advices to the people. You have no idea what are you writing about.
Quick charge is not only about output power of the supply but also possible output tension. In case of Lenovo Quick charger these are: 5.2V, 7V, 9V and 12V
---------- Post added at 05:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:05 PM ----------

"Charging is fast, too. You can go from empty to full in around 1hr 30mins using the bundled Rapid Charger. Rapid Charge is Lenovo’s own 24W fast-charging tech, and you’ll only get it from the supplied adapter."
http://www.gsmarena.com/lenovo_p2-review-1557p3.php
"We initially thought that the Rapid charging tech used by Lenovo must be Quick Charge 3.0 since the P2 uses a Qualcomm chipset. However, our third-party QC3.0 charger didn't charge the P2 particularly fast, so the jury is still out on whether Lenovo is using a proprietary charging technology. "
In short: only original Lenovo charger is good for our phones
Lenovo P2 can NOT be fast charged with qualcomm quick charge 3.0

I have 2 Anker Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 wall chargers one with single port and one with multiple ports. I have tried my lenovo p2 with both of them (in QC 3.0 ports) and it does not do any rapid charging.
I don't see any double bolt or double charging sign even when I have switched on power saving mode with the physical power save button on the side.
My Lenovo P2 model is p2a42 and I am on the lastest nougat software update that is P2a42_S244_170725_ROW.
When I go to detailed battery menu in settings during charging it just says "Charging on AC" i.e. I do not see anything like rapid or fast charging or anything like that.
I also installed the Ampere app on nougat I never saw the voltage going above 5v (actually always stay slightly lower than 5v) in that app. Unfortunately, amps calculation is not working in that app I don't know why. I do not know if it is QC 3.0 instead of QC 2.0 that is making this difference.
Also my phone was at 4% charged when I did this test.

who ever tried it ?

Did anyone find a charger? Can you please share a link?

Wireless Charging > 11W? (Seeing 13.2W)

I just got a wireless charger, this kind of weird off-brand:
New poster so can't link. Search Amazon for "Yootech 7.5W/10W/15W Fast Wireless Charger with Cooling Fan,7.5W Wireless Charging Stand with QC3.0 Adapter Compatible iPhone 11/11 Pro/11 Pro Max,15W LG V30/V35/G8,10W Galaxy Note10/S10,Pixel 3/4XL" It's about $22.
I bought it because it supports up to 15W and comes with a charger. Anyway, I put the device on the charger and I'm seeing 13.2W consistently:

This is both cool and kind of unsettling to me. Is the charger violating specs and sending more power than the Pixel 4 XL can take or can the phone take more power than the 11W advertised?

Phone can take more than advertised.
Pixel Stand charges mine at that rate.
I might have seen 15w once too.
Maybe it's 13.2 watts from the charger, but the pixel only gets 11 watts. Not sure what the loss is but it's not 1 to 1.
The wireless charger for the car I got gets to that level but it seems to cause the phone to run hot. once it reaches 104 F it stops charging. I have had to reposition the charger to the AC vent to circulate air and sometimes for the AC to cool it so it'll keep charging. Is it better to get a wireless charger that doesn't output that much power?

Just bought that one for my daughter, so that's good to know it charges that fast.
To be honest, I don't trust Inware's reported power draw anymore. I dropped my phone onto an old Tylt 5W pad and the app reported 8.4W, up to about 10W at one point. I seriously doubt that the pad is able to do that and suspect that it's misreporting. What other apps do people use to measure charge rates?
I bought the latest version of this charger. Amazon has 5 SKUs for this. 2 older models, one with charger, one without. 2 newer models. one with charger, one without. Finally a black version which I can't tell if it's new or not.
The updated version I bought for my Pixel 4XL shows charging at 10W using Inware. That's fast enough for me.
I am guessing that for the Pixel to say fast charging it has to reach 18W? The only time I have seen it say fast is plugged in with fast compatible chargers.
I have to say this version feels premium and fancy. Very nice.
One last thing, gave up having my mini wallet attached to the back of the phone. Not even the Google Wireless stand can maintain good contact for it to charge. On my previous Samsung i had no problems charging with the wallet attached with 3 cards in it. No luck with the Pixel.

Nevermind. For some reason I thought this was about a car charger

Quick Charging with Aftermarket Chargers?

I'm sure this phone works fine with aftermarket chargers like the Anker PowerPort Atom PD 2, but will it charge the phone faster? While the 18W fast charger included with the phone is good, it is admittedly slow to charge the massive battery this thing has.. I don't really care about reducing the lifetime of the battery all that much given that i usually don't use a single phone for longer than an year so i'd be happy if an aftermarket charger can charge the phone faster without setting it on fire.. Any thoughts?
I currently use USB-PD 30W charger + type Cs cable, and it shown fast charging. But I am not sure which standard it use because it also support QC4+, MTK PumpCharging, VOOC, Samsung's adaptive charging and Huawei super charge XD

Haha that sounds sketchy. Does it seem like it's charging the phone faster tho?

Sketchy as it is used for marking 30W wireless and 100W wired I believe. Mind using an app that checks the reall wattage speed? Maybe (Ampere)?
Redmi Note 8 Pro uses Type-C interface, and the data transmission standard is USB2.0. Supports Quick charge4 + fast charge protocol, USB Power Delivery (USB PD) fast charge protocol, MediaTek Pump Express 2.0, 4.0.
Give me link for charger Turbo plisss
For me the pixel 2xls charger is showing turbo charging screen as posted above.. charging at 3300 to 3500 mah on accubattery..
For the Stock charger it never went above 3000mah
On stock have 2400 max that way need New charger
I use "Baseus adapter 30W" its quick charge if you use usb cable to tpye c, but this charger use turbo charge if use type c to type c cable
i compare this adapter with stock adapter
this time im compare with app battrey log
fast charging Usb to tpye C (Stock cable)
----------------
stock adapter
-----------------
start time : 17:27
percentage : 14%
Stop time : 19:24
Percentage : 97% .
Total Time : 1h 57m
----------------------------------
Baseus charger adapter 30W
------------------------------------
Start time : 09:24
Percentage 14%
Stop Time 11:11
Percentage : 97%
Total Time : 1h 47m
there is a difference of 10 minutes with a stock adapter

My Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 charger shows quick charge. It's one from Hama I got a couple months ago for about 20-30 quid. I am pretty sure any QQC 3.0 charger will work
So is it beneficial to go for aftermarket chargers, specially while using custom roms?

How to charge with PD 27W?

On xda site they said the OP8T can charge up to 27W with a PD charger however I tried many PD chargers with all kind of cables combination and it never goes above 1-5W.
I'm not the only one, there are many posts on reddit about this.
What's your experience on this?
Same over here, can't get it over 5w.
Charging voltage has something to do with it, what's ur charging voltage?
Using a digital usb meter I noticed all PD chargers stay a 9V with 0.45A output. I tried a kernel on XDA that it's supposed to force fast charging but i didn't do anything.
I find it very weird nobody is talking about this on XDA, only a few threads on reddit.
If you are outside and you don't have your stock OP 65W charger with you you have a high possibility of not being able to charge at all since it can take 5 hours to a day a this speed. How is this even legal?

I may be a little confused here, but I get pretty dang close to 27W of charging power when using my USB C charging brick that came with my Samsung Galaxy Book 360. Franco kernel manager usually says I average around 25W charging power. I'm assuming the USB brick is USB-C with PD.

HI,
First of all (I'm using a usb tester) I noticed the cable has nothing to do with this problem. I have one BaseUS 100W PD charger, one UGreen 36W PD charger, one BaseUS 65W power bank and one 18W power bank. They are all able to provider PD charging at 12/20V at their maximum advertise wattage with my devices and a usb-c laptop. They can also provide 9V/3A (tested).
I noticed then when the battery is below 60% connected with a usb-c cable they all default to 9V/0.45A and sometimes even 0.22A (last night I left it to charge and in 8h it only charged 7%!) when above that you can get 5V/2.5A which is much better.
So I'm not sure what exactly those PD chargers are missing if they work with all other devices.
Also I find it weird you can see 25W from franco kernel since the phone shows half of the wattage being a dual battery. So yhat would be a real 50W.
Connected to a 100W PD charger at 1W

Yes of course.
Bro, something is wrong.... I just tested my google chromecast with google tv power block and cable and I am getting this:

I don't know exactly, whatever google uses for this: https://store.google.com/us/product/chromecast_google_tv?hl=en-US
It's a 5V 1.5A so that value you see in FKM cannot be real.
You should use BatteryGuru and multiply by 2.

Well I guess this block is different. It says 5V 3A or 9V 2A, so 18W would make sense no? I'll try a different app. This is from the battery guru app and electron app:
Yes makes sense now. I'll try to find other chargers at this point. I know everything I have is not supported by this phone.
It's like u can't find a compatible charger lol whatever charger I tried charges at 9v 1.8a until the phone reaches 65% and then it drops to 4.5v 0.4a and it takes ages to get from 65% to 100%
Idk what the hell is this problem but I know for sure it's their dual battery design messed up for real
Could anyone try monitoring charging voltage and amperage across different charging percentages and report back.
And for monitoring use OnePlus toolkit it's baked in the rom, *#800# to access it then tap on enter and tap on tools to see charger option and then choose it.
It displays the voltage and current without having to multiply it.

I suppose the problem is also in the technology itself:
In contrast to USB Power Delivery and Qualcomm Quick Charge technology, which increases the voltage during fast charging, VOOC/Warp Charge/Dart Charge use a higher current than standard USB charging.
All versions of VOOC require a proprietary cable to work. In addition to electrical requirements like thickness (low electrical resistance) to handle the high currents without overheating, the VOOC 2.0/Dash protocol requires a fifth pin on the (USB-A to USB-C) cable to communicate through. Without such communication, the charger runs at a limit of 5 V/1.5 A. From VOOC 4.0 this limit elevated to 5V/2.0A.
On the Android phone end, the VOOC communication code is open source under GNU General Public License (GNU GPL) version 2 as a part of the modified Linux kernel, and has been used by custom ROMs like Lineage OS.
So i presume it's just not compatible with many PD chargers.
Oppo Gan Charger Kit supports 65W charging protocol,You can buy it about 80-90RMB on the Xianyu app 。There is also a power bank that supports 65W charging called Sdoutech but a little expensive , 400RMB/26800mah about four times for 8T
Mainly I want to charge with other chargers and power banks I already have not buying other VOOC chargers.

I don't understand why it can't be compatible with many PD chargers if PD is a standard. What would be the discrimination factor here?
I tried charging the Pixel 6 that supports PD with every PD charger I have and they all deliver 23W, while on the OP8T all stuck on 5W or even less sometimes.
