I've noticed a considerable battery drain on both MHA-L29C432B126 and MHA-L29C636B136 from having a google account sync the calendar. It just syncs again and again. Anyone else noticed this? Wakes the phone up a lot and seems to have a huge effect on the phone getting some much needed sleep.
I've turned off calendar syncing for all my accounts and switched to outlook to sidestep this, but I'm curious if anyone has experienced it and/or seen a solution.
I use Google calendar sync for multiple calendars. No problem. Maybe a failing sync causes the problem? L29 B126
I had the same problem with google calender when i unistalled it. Google calender sync was on all the time. When i reinstall google calender it stopt syncing.
No problems here. L29 B126
Just so everyone knows it was able to be solved with a factory reset from settings menu.

Both solutions work :silly: if you installed Google Calendar and deinstalled, install it again.. If you don't won't to install it again try deleting and adding again Google account and if it doesn't help do a factory reset, and don't install Google Calendar
I have the exact same issue. I can't say for sure if it coincides with the installation of Google Calender or with starting using the Huawei Calender App. I did both at the same time (I was thinking about using aCalender+ which needs Google Calender to be installed to work properly, or to use the Huawei one)
Now any Google account which has calender sync enabled has said issue.
I have uploaded a video to youtube. Search for "Huawei Mate 9 Calender syncing issue"

Goto Settings -> Accounts & sync
Select the Google account
un-tick Sync contacts and Sync Calendar
That works after you setup the account but there does not seem to be a way to disable the initial sync of calendar and contacts and once I disable syncing of those items it does not get rid of any that it has downloaded.
Any other thoughts on how to disable syncing of google calendar and contacts from the start?

reset yoyr phone to factory specs. then restart your phone. when the htc setup wizard starts skip over everything. once the home screen loads go to settings, sync. now uncheck calander and contacts. now click on add google account, enter in your google information. calander syncing and contact syncing now should not occur (make sure they are still unchecked though)
Hi,
In my Desire S,
------------------Ignore this part - solved
under Manage Accounts, there is google and a few others.
I want to remove some of those others like News, Weather and Stocks.
How to do that ?
-----------------
need an answer for the part below.
Secondly there are some processes which i can see running on process monitor but do not show on the app drawer. they are probably related to some telco apps which i do not need and would like to uninstall.
Would this require rooting ? Any other way to uninstall those unnecessary apps ?
thanks
thanks
I am having a problem with my calendar, the birthday feed from google doesn't sync with the calendar even though everything is set up to sync.
All my other calendars sync just fine.
I'm running stock ROM, fully updated, and standard calendar app.
Hoping somebody knows why I am having this problem, and can help me solve it.
Thx
Anybody ?
So 156 people later and still no solution :/
Was hoping somebody would recognize the problem, seems like a complete cleaning is the next step..
I am trying to sync Google calendars on my tf700 with my calendars on my Nexus 4. I have made sure calendar sync is checked under account settings On both devices, but still no luck. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Which rom are you using on both?
I have had extensive problems with calendar sync with my SGS2 -- I know it's not the same device, but it is finicky. Check under the attached Google account if there are sync errors -- if there are, remove the attached Google account altogether, re-add it and sync the calendar anew. I know it's a pain the proverbial butt, but after days of fooling around on my SGS2 I got it working. (Luckily I had the 700 for my day-to-day calendar needs.)
That's a little vague....
Do you get any errors? Or does it simply not do anything? Or do you get a semi-sync?
what calendar app are you using? you should use the one from play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar&feature=search_result not the preloaded one
also go to settings of the app (not system settings), tap your account and check if sync is enabled
I am having an issue with reminder syncing when it comes to calendar. I have narrowed down where the probable issue is and I think it is from the browser to the phone. I downloaded 2 other calendar apps and the reminders are syncing between the apps but they are still not syncing to the browser. It is not syncing also, when the events are created on the browser and refreshed on the apps. Any one have a fix for this?

So I am not sure if maybe using another calendar app fixed it, but it is fixed. The reminders are syncing now. I did remove cache/data for the Calendar app & Calendar Storage app before I tried another app.
But all is good.

Ok another update, it seems the issue is my shared calendar. I am sharing my work Google calendar to my person Google calendar and it seems that there is an issue with calendar reminders syncing across shared calendars. I am going to keep working on this.
Has anyone had luck setting up an exchange account in gmail and google calendar after installing exchange services APK? Adding the account through the Settings app I was able to get it to successfully sync my email but both calendar and contact sync are erroring. Thanks!

Had the same issue. Here's the fix: Go to the application manager, find exchange services, select the option for Permissions, and give it perms for your contacts and calendar.

Beautiful! That did it, thanks! I've normally just been prompted for each permission needed, odd that even re-adding the account didn't trigger it. Anyways, certainly good info to know for the future Thanks again!
Thank you SO MUCH! I've been trying to figure this out for weeks. It worked previously on my Galaxy S5 with no additional permissions required. I guess the security is a bit more stringent/granular for the Galaxy S7.
On a similar topic, I just lost exchange services today. Unable to sync calendar or contacts...the exchange calendar doesn't even show up in the calendar app any longer. Anyone experienced this? I'm a bit lost without my work calendar.
Tried everything under the sun...removing account, reinstalling exchange services, resetting permissions. I even factory reset my phone hoping to fix it. Nothing. Anyone else?

I decided to roll back to an older version of Exchange Services (Version: 6.5-1520254) and everything is back to normal.
