1. WiseScreen Sensor
The intelligent sensor system allows you to activate your phone smartly. The moment you pick up the phone, the sensor on the phone’s frame and the front infrared camera recognize your hand and your eyes, and put the phone into action by activating the screen. When you put down your phone, or place it in your pocket, the screen goes off in one second.
2. Intelligent Face Code Recognition
New message notification will only show up for pre-registered faces to ensure users’ privacy.
3. Honor Magic Live
Honor Magic Live smart engine does not only understand the users’ needs, but helps to organize their life. By detecting external factors such as touch, direction, brightness, speed, distance and location, Honor Magic does not only function passively on your demand, but also provides active services beyond your imagination.
4. My Pocket
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to activate the ‘save’ and ‘share’ button so you can collect and share your favorite articles, music and videos.
5. 3D Glass Curved Design
Honor Magic boasts of an ergonomic design with its double 3D glass covers and Class-A curvy style which reflects bright, shining lights.
6. Magic Touch: Effortless navigation with one key
Besides being Honor’s first smartphone with front home button which also serves as fingerprint scanner, Honor Magic’s home button is an all-in-one key replacing the “back” and “overview” buttons, enhancing the actual screen size considerably.
You may navigate around, such as unlock the phone, return to previous page, browse history and return to the home screen, simply by touching, double tapping or swiping on the same key.
7. Fast charging
Thanks to the introduction of a special graphite molecular structure of the new battery materials - and the new charging design, Honor Magic achieves an incredible boost. It only takes 20 minutes to juice up the battery to 70% and 10 minutes to charge up to 40%. With Honor Magic, your days of worrying about low batteries are over.
8. 2K AMOLED Curved Screen
Honor Magic features a stunning 5.09-inch 2K AMOLED curved screen which presents the vivid world in all its color.
9. Dual 12MP Parallel Lens
Honor Magic boasts of 12MP dual lens camera, one lens captures black and white image while the other one captures color images - the former guarantees detail and the latter delivers vibrant color. The dual lens work together to effortlessly capture clear and vibrant images.

Not related to the above, but i like to share my thoughts on some initial worries people have about the phone.
1) battery life
While it is indeed a comparatively smaller 2900mAh battery, but its running on a 5.1 inch screen phone. It all comes down to optimization. Samsung S7 was 5.1inch, 2k screen, 3000mAh phone and had decent battery life. The google pixel with 5", 1080p & 2770mAh is not so great in battery life.
So lets hope Honor has optimized it well along with the 90% minute charge in 30 mins being a big relief.
2) The Kirin 950 performance
here again, while on the sheet K950 is not the latest out there, but as seen from real life test of opening apps and ram management, the Huawei phones like Mate9, Honor 8 are actually putting better or on par performance than other phones like One Plus 3T, Iphone 7, S7 Edge, Pixels, etc . And it all has to do with Huawei's EMUI doing some great job in the software department and if that is the case with Honor Magic and its own new UI as well then it should not be a worry.
That said, this is obviously not a phone for hardcore gamers considering its size and design.

Agreed. If we pay 35K+ for this phone then we may expect a better battery for sure. not sure in real world how it would perform with 2900 mAH battery but seems Magic UI is light weight than EMUI so we may expect a better performance or battery. lets see how it goes.

I will also add that the Kirin 950 running a 2k screen should also not be a worry as Honor Note 8 with a massive 6.6" 2K display also runs on the Kirin 955.
When compared to Mate 9 20 mp camera, difference is Mate 9 can take better videos with 4k video recording and OIS and it has that nice zoom feature. Besides that there is not much difference and the quality of regular photos aren't any different on the Mate 9.
In short, if really heavy games and high quality video recording are priority to you, then obviously Honor magic is not for you. To be fair Kirin 950 works perfect with games and yet to find any users of P9 series or Honor 8 complain to that effect. But the Kirin 960 is more future proof having twice more powerful GPU and VR capabilities. Also the 2900mAh battery capacity is not best if you spend most of your time on games. Honor magic is also not outstanding if you want to get a phone for real cheap. The Honor 8 is 170$ cheaper than the Magic.
Honor magic shines & seperates from the rest at having a gorgeous unique looking device curved on all 8 sides with 7.8mm at thickest and thins out to about 3mm at the edges. It is also currently the only phone at handy size of 5.1 display having a curved screen. With a 2k Amoled screen display adding to the pleasure.
Despite 2900mAh which is quite normal for a phone of this size , there is the super charger getting 90% in 30 minutes with added safety measures in place as well. The extra front infra red camera & sensors and the front finger print sensor should make getting your notifications and daily usage much more of a relief.
That said, im still having fingers crossed fingers on the UI firstly if it works well with non-Chinese language and don't end up with lot of Chinese stuff popping up that cannot be stopped. If an international version does come out, im not sure if it will bring any of the Magic live contextual aware features, and even if they do so whether it can be ported to the China version of the phone. And secondly since this rom is different from EMUI, it is still at early development stage and with Android 7 update not yet out, i hope i don't miss any crucial & loved features of EMUI 5.0.

Agreed completely mate. You have pointed sone really important things here. Lets wait for the global release, if planned any, and see hows the real world experience .

From what im reading, the face recognition on this phone is unique from previous iterations on other phones, in that it recognizes only a 3D face and hence not a photo. And secondly, it can recognize in the dark as well.

it must be infrared, low light 3d scaning would be a bad joke, if it's not for the infrared

Lenovo K900 thoughts

Didn't find a Lenovo K900 thread anywhere, on any site as a matter of fact, so I'm starting one. First phone from a Chinese company to get me excited. I'm still leery of ZTE and Huawei, but Lenovo has been making Thinkpads for several years now so I'll bite. This phone looks amazing, especially the diamond pattern. It's super blocky, but its so thin at under 7mm it makes it look really cool. The frame around the black glass front really makes it stand out in its own unique way. It even has a microSD slot. A big middle finger to all those other unibody phones that keep on saying no microSD is the future. The only thing I don't like is the look of the speaker grille. There's also a 13MP camera by Sony. Hopefully it is the new Exmor RS and not the old R. If it is the RS, it's kind of weird that Sony is not making their own sensor exclusive, and instead sharing the limelight with Lenovo on the same show. The Lenovo one is even thinner. Did I mention it has a 5.5" 1080p IPS screen?
Here's a fun video where the rep makes a bunch of mistakes. Poor guy confuses sim card with microSD card and internal storage with internal RAM. He also does this Sarah Palin-esque jumble of words about how he personally loves the phone, its good for low lighting, because he's a power user, and a whole bunch of other stuff that aren't necessarily connected. Does it in all the other videos too. Gotta dig how he says that 5.5" is the perfect size.

Here's a comparison with the Galaxy Note 2. Its a little bit taller, but looks a little bit less wide, if not the same.

Since you want thoughts, I have to say that IMO that's one of the ugliest phones to date. The shiny back thing worked well on phones like the Nexus 4 but on that it looks absolutely awful. From a specs standpoint it seems pretty decent, although I don't think it's any better than the Xperia Z or ZL (whichever one's better lol). The Xperias are infinitely better looking, too. However, as stated in the comments of the youtube comparison with a GNote 2, phablets are pretty pointless without some sort of special S-Pen like functionality.
I like the metal and those screws which make it look solid and upmarket even though being so slim. The diamond pattern version is not for me, although it does look like those engine turned instrument panels on pre-war Mercedes'. Performance wise I've seen initial benchmarks which look impressive. It does need an S-pen. At the moment the Note 2 is my favourite phone even though Samsung is using far too much cheap looking plastic.

Congratulations! Nicely designed hardware (the simple stainless version), unfortunately with really tacky overlay, but nothing that a good launcher can't help, I hope.
I just ordered one
Is the K900 definitely a WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100 phone? Most specs mention only 2100 for 3G, some add 900, but one of the shops confirmed, when questioned specifically, that the K900 covers WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100. This is important for the US users (and here is what Lenovo seems to be distributing: http://www.letsgomobile.org/images/news/lenovo/lenovo-smartphone.pdf)
How do you like it so far?
What is the battery life?
What is the camera like in low light?
I also have the HTC One Developer Edition on order, but will probably cancel it (the f/1.8 lens on the K900 was the tipping point for me, hope it's great not just on paper).
Also, does it have FM transmitter?
Most of the chips with FM receivers include a transmitter as well, just curious if there is an app on the K900 for the transmitter.

k900 and iphone 5 have their own strengths,in your link to zol.com.cn ,they show that iphone 5's photo is better at night, but ,Lenovo K900 is still very stable from the comparison of outdoor , indoor , macro , panoramic night view of these aspects , whether it is indoors or outdoors, Lenovo K900 can be very accurate in place to restore the colors and details . iPhone 5 because of its usual " automatic " style ,adjust the photo color , brightness to compare to please the eye , but During panorama shooting iPhone 5 " automatic " loss of efficiency , a significant drop in the brightness of the screen .

Sure, the K900 has an overall fine camera with great wide aperture and hopefully the software side will be tweaked to make the shots better.
Thanks for the photos in the rooting thread you've started, it a great-looking phone.
Have you figured out if the phone has radio transmitter (so that you can stream music to FM frequency on your car radio, for cars without A2DP receivers)?
Also, have you come across any documentation on the 3G bands enabled (850 and 1900 are of particular interest)?
Oh, and can you get through the day without a recharge (with "normal" use)?
Thanks.
guys frankly before ordering i was thinking this is the best phone in the world in this price range but after i used it for 1 month ive realised that firstly..camera is good but it needs some settings every time.....guyz im not a developer but i guarantee u with roms like cm or miui this big beast will turn to a monster...problems is in its software"lenovo UI"..I WOULD APPRECIATE IF SOMEONE WOULD PORT ROMS ON K900

Zopo ZP998, So-called World’s First 8-core Mobile Phone: Not As Ambitious

Just one day after MediaTek raised the curtain of MTK6592, Zoppo, the Chinese phone maker, held a press conference flaunting how its new flagship, powered by the Octa-core chipset, would be a monster. Henceforth, it spent about 2 months hyping (perhaps optimize, too) the so-called world’s first 8-core smartphone everywhere.
Clearly Zoppo was trying the same hunger marketing tactics by Apple, or its Chinese mimicry Xiaomi. That did intrigued me somehow, but I was left cold when I held the very stuff, namely Zopo ZP998, in hand at last.
1. Design
iPhone 5/5s and HTC One have inscribed metallic surface and matte finish as major elements into the aesthetics of mobile phone design. The ZP998 seems looking for a breakthrough with its leathery plastic rear side, which, suggest more premium a feel than Samsung Galaxy S4’s cheesy case would do. That aside, the Zoppo handset’s overall design is not inspiring.

Its front is a round-cornered rectangle, measures 5.96 inches tall by 3 inches wide, and is covered with an all-over piece of glass slightly above the edges. In a word, the handset has the magnified face of iPhone 5, plus a few compulsory tweaks such as touch-sensitive physical buttons at the bottom in place of iPhone’s home button, a wider earpiece outlet at the top to fit the ZP998’s oversize, and a bigger front camera on the earpiece’s right instead of top.
The trim encircling Zopo ZP998’s chassis is in fact made from aluminum, though the finish and color deliver a feel not as metallic as iPhone’s. The volume rocker sits on the upper left edge, and the right edge houses the power and camera keys. Between the phone’s face and edges, there is a distinct seam that shows lesser delicate craftsmanship.
The camera starter button, also the physical shutter, serves as Zopo’s messenger to tell us how outstanding the camera is, but it is placed so far that I must adjust my grip every time I want to reach it. I’d rather start the camera by the app icon and use the virtual shutter. Similarly, it can be quite a stretch to touch the back button if you hold the phone in your left hand, the inherent drawback for oversize cell phones.
A cool work looks cool and reasonable. In this sense, Zopo did not put enough sweat and tears into its new hit.
2. Display
Zopo’s has proved excellent in displaying system by its last flagship Zopo C2. The new one’s screen is just as good with the same resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels and a bigger 5.5-inch size.
While the added 0.5 inch decreases the ZP998’s pixel density to 401 PPI from C2’s 441 PPI, I don’t find major degeneration in image quality. The screen still shows extremely vibrant colors and crispy details.
Being edge-to-edge, the display helps cut Zopo ZP998’s body size a lot and its border is proof against accidental contacts. Both features are favorable except in one case: if you hold the phone tight (you normally use some strength to grip the phone when it is vertical to the floor) in your left hand, the border of the display is sensitive to your extruded palm flesh when you can’t switch home screens to the right by siding the thumb of the same hand.
Quibbles aside, Zopo ZP998 is paired with a fantastic full HD screen.
3. Operating System:
While the Mainland-China version of Zopo ZP998 runs Yun OS 2.3, an overhauled Android 4.2 system with flat icons and translucent notifications pull-down menu, the overseas version comes with the pure Android 4.2.2. The latter offers all the language options born with Android and has Google Play Store onboard.
Switch of home screens and Launcher layouts are smooth, though not very pleasantly fast. Annoying but tolerable delays were found during shifts between widgets layouts and between pictures in gallery. And I was able to open and close apps again and again without any hiccup.
Powered by an 8-core CPU and Mali-450MP GPU, the aforementioned performance indicates inadequate efforts on OS optimization.
4. Camera
Able to shoot 14MP pictures, the ZP998’s back camera uses an alleged F2.0 big aperture, bigger than that of any cell phone to my knowledge. Indeed, the camera is capable of drawing blur background and foreground with quite strong Bokeh effects.
However, the photos come out neither very vivid nor crisp in comparison with the 8MP iPhone 5, another proof that face-value resolution is not everything for a camera. The 5MP front camera has low contrast, too.
normal light, low light
with flash, under fluorescent lamp
background blur, foreground blur
5. Core Components
Before running some benchmark software on the ZP998, I tried 2 games that had never worked well on Android phones equipped with previous generations of MTK chipsets. Temple Run Oz, with all its thrilling high definition, vividness and 3 dimensions, always and frequently encountered skips of frames. And the blockbusting NFS: Most Wanted proved out of MTK’s ability to handle.
You can hardly say the cars are whizzing on Zopo ZP998, but the speed is about twice as high as it was with some quad-core MTK6589T-powered phones, and the background motion is nearly smooth. Skips of frames with the Oz have been reduced to an extent that you can really enjoy the game.
Yes, I did see considerable improvement in processing ability from the coordination of the 1.7Ghz MTK6592 CPU and Mali-450 GPU. On the other hand, Zopo’s mediocre software optimization gives me hope that some bigger phone makers, perhaps Lenovo, would forge some perfect stuff out of the chipset.
The Zopo handset notched scores of 8000 and 13000 on Quadrent and Antutu, respectively. Quadrent says the phone is better than HTC One X, and Antutu even says it’s better than Samsung Galaxy S3. But it’s weird that both benchmarks give the pixel density of 480PPI and front camera resolution of 8MP.
6. Battery Life:
I used the ZP998 for two weeks, including 3 and half a days with the display shut down after full charge (of course I need to activate the display a few times to see the power usage). The battery is able to last you for approximately 9 hours of light-to-heavy use, or around 11 hours if you don’t play games at all. Anyway, once-a-day charge is inevitable.
Antutu battery test gives the smpartphone a score of 486, between HTC Incredible S and Milestone.
7. Others:
The ZP998’s gesture sensor is more responsive than any Chinese phone I’ve ever tested. In the past, I nearly have to touch those screens to make my “air” gesture work out. NFC is another feature that often failed on Chinese phones, while Zopo ZP998 stimulated me a lot. It has no problem in data transfer with Xiaomi M3 and Sony Xperia. As for Miracast wireless display, most Chinese Phones are OK, so this one is not something exceptional.
8. Conclusion:
Zopo ZP998 is still a typical phone made by a typical second-tier Chinese phone maker. It is a storehouse of trendy technologies, while each of them doesn’t bring stunning user experience. What’s interesting is that the 8-core mobile phone has the same or lower price than some 4-core Zopo-branded ones.
Let me be less cynical! After all, Zopo ZP998 is sold not with a super price, so I shouldn’t have expected a super phone. In spite of all its embarrassing drawbacks, this is a worthy product, for sum-up.

[REVIEW] Lenovo lenovo Vibe X2: octa-core, 4G, 5" HD, 2GB RAM, lightest metal phone
Last the September 2014, the Chinese giant Lenovo launched a new phone with 5.0 inch screen called Vibe X2, which became also the flagship smartphone on IFA exhibition of Berlin.
To have a better idea of the level, this phone was sharing stage with the almighty Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Sony Z3 and Huawei Mate7 ect
Are you maybe willing to know more about what can this Vibe X2 offer? Lets start with this review

Unboxing Video:
As seen the video, the package of Vibe X2 is very different and I would even say more creative than others. As we usually see, it presents a double level design, in the first one we have X2, slot needle, warranty card and user manual. In the second have USB cable, special attention to the 1500mA charger (normally they are just 1000mA) and earphone. We have already told before that now many smartphones do not bring earphones in box, something very inconvenient for the users, but Vibe X2 has it and it’s appreciated.
Appearance
After unboxing it, we will see the Vibe X2 is a very elegant terminal:
No matter if we have chosen the gold, red or white version, the front part is completely black, occupied mostly by the 5” screen.
Once turned, it's completely flat, I love it!
On the side body, Lenovo Vibe X2 uses a very unique four layer design, different than other smartphones that use to bring a more integrated design... With only one color.
Talking about the dimensions of X2, they are 140.2x68.6x7.27mm, very close to the 4.7 inch iPhone6 dimensions (138x66x6.9mm), with the difference of screen size on favor of the Lenovo model.
The thickness is also once of its strengths, specially because the camera does not protrude as we’ve seen on the iPhone6 or other phones.
Lenovo has used an aluminum and magnesium alloy for the structure, which is around 45% lighter than stainless steel. So the Vibe X2 only weights 120 grams, being 1 gram lighter than its predecessor Vibe X S960.
By the other side, power and volume buttons have a very nice non metal feeling when you touch.
Lenovo Vibe X2 has a dual SIM card slot in one tray on the left side, where we can put together a micro Sim, and a nano Sim. And what is more interesting, both slot support GSM/WCDMA/LTE networks.
Hardware
CPU MT6795 Octa Core 2.0GHz
GPU PowerVR G6200
RAM 2GB
ROM 32GB
Extend card No supports SD Memory Card (TF-Card)
Display Size 5.0 inch FHD
Screen Resolution 1920×1080
Screen Type IPS-LCD, Multi-Touch Capcitive Screen
Display Colour 16 Million Colors
Front Camera 5.0 mega pixel, supports Skype Video Calls
Rear Camera 13.0 mega pixel / Auto Focus / Flash Light
OS Android 4.4 with Vibe UI 2.0
Battery Built-in Battery 2300mAh
It’s equipped with the MTK MT6595M Octa Core CPU from the well known Mediatek and 2 GB of RAM, running perfectly with a resolution of 1080p on the 5.0 inch LCD screen.
With this hardware, it scores as high as 45000 in Antutu tests, so no matter what normal use, video or game we play, it goes with speed and high quality image experience. Adhering to MTK always probes quality experience for media, so Vibe X2 can play 4K videos incredibly smoothly .
The rear camera with 13.0Mpx and front camera with 5.0Mpx bring high quality images in this smartphone.
One of the main point on this Vibe X2 is not only that the dual SIM slot support 4G LTE, but both can be active simultaneously (it means your calling party will never hear "Not reachable" message if he calls you on second mobile number when you are busy on talking on first number. He will be just on "waiting" that time ....), very useful!
About the storage it has two versions, so we can choose between 16GB and 32GB, what a pity is that it doesn’t support micro SD card extension.
Finally the 2300mAh battery makes delivers a good time of endurance.
Note: Official ROM only has Chinese and English languages. However some sellers like Etotalk (http://www.etotalk.com/lenovo-vibe-x2-x2cu_p6697.html) customize the ROM so it comes with many other languages and Google Play installed.
Screen
I have already mentioned about the 5.0 inch screen, capable of offering 1080p resolution with a pixel density that reaches 445ppi; in addition it uses LTPS technology, which means low power consumption.
Lenovo Vibe X2 screen support customized parameters like custom color and saturation ect.
As usual on almost every phone, it brings a “Smart bright mode”function, capable of auto detecting the level of light and enhance the visibility of the outdoor and indoor environments instantaneously.
Camera
As you can see on the samples below, the photo quality is excellent with the main camera thanks to the color reduction technology. Showing colors close to true even with very different light levels.
The camera app includes Quick Shot technology for still camera and video, improving the users shooting experience. Of course, these results rely on “Super Camera 4.1” Function developed from own Lenovo labs.
Note: When the phone is on sleep mode, we can activate the quick shot function by doing double click on the "home" button, very useful.
Battery
About time of endurance, because of the ultra-thin body of this phone, the battery is only built-in 2300mAh, facing the MT6595M CPU and 1080P screen, it is kind of stressful demand.
After running some tests:
 Watching 30 minutes online video, power dropped by 10%
 Playing Asphalt 8 game for 20 minutes, made the battery drop by 6%
 Standby time during the night (so 8 hours with Bluetooth and GPS disabled but keeping WIFI on) and the power only dropped 4%
 After one day of standard use, we still had 24% of battery
With this figures, one charge per day should normally be OK. We must also think that I was simulating normal use, so I didn’t enable“Ultimate Power Saver Mode”during the tests.
Other says that opening it, the phone should be fine for 2 days of use, even 3 days some say, although I consider it too optimistic.
Conclusions
From my side, no questions the main point of Lenovo Vibe X2 is its cools and elegant appearance, with that colorful layer design that breaks the common practice of smartphone side design.
The aluminum and magnesium alloy frame keeps the phone weight very tight, in a way that having the terminal on the hand feels very light, even lighter than iPhone5 despite the different size,
To be honest, we cannot look only to the design, I wouldn’t be practical at all for a smartphone review. The powerful hardware brings us speed, then, but also the quick shot function, dual full active SIM with 4G LTE support
And about places to buy it. I have already a wide experience dealing with Asian sellers, and sincerely have been cheated (not same product, low quality, long delay, orders canceled, excessive customs costs...) so lately I prefer to go to those ones giving me more confidence like Etotalk (which as I said also modify the ROM to include more languages) who in addition uses VIP DHL shipping, so normally it takes less than 5 days to have the goods on my home.
What about Lollipop for this phone?

Design
Let’s start off with the design and how the phone looks. The Elephone M1 is a very stylish smartphone I have to say, it has an elegant look and looks quite premium. Its body includes up of a metal construct which not only supplies durability to the smartphone, nevertheless it appears first-rate aesthetically too. When I gripped the smartphone for the very first time, I knew that I have been dealing with a premium best handset in view that of the fabric that was used to make it used to be made of very excessive first-class., also the fingerprint scanner in the back of the device gives a more eye-catching look to the M. Elephone M1 heirs the design of the Huawei P8 and the iPhone 6, both smartphones are beautiful so is the M1.
Button Placement
In 2015 people tend to buy smartphones with big displays and that’s the issue, some hands are small and some big. The M1 with the 5.5inch display is quite big and in many phones with that big display placing the buttons in the right position is a nightmare. Thankfully the M1 buttons are well aligned and correctly placed, coming from a Note 4 with a 5.7inch display I enjoyed more having the power and volume buttons in the right hand side. Not incorporating a bodily residence button proper within the core is a process that a number of Chinese smartphone OEMs follow and it's not necessarily a good approach. This is because it's not going to provide that clicking sensation when a user really presses a physical home button, and majority of the instances, they will need to tap on the capacitive button.
Display and resolution
I would love to see a Full HD Display on this smartphone but sadly, Elephone integrated it to the Elephone M2 which is an upgraded version of the M1, but don’t panic having an HD display will you more battery life. Despite the HD display on the M1, performs very good. Having the brightness to maximum level I had no problem using the phone under the Sun, also the display is gorgeous, I have never seen such a beautiful HD display on a smartphone at first I couldn’t believe that it was only HD. The M1 has some awesome viewing angles thanks to the IPS panel, even though you will easily be able to notice the difference in display quality thanks to its 5.5 inch screen. The pixel per inch density of Elephone M1 is relatively low, which will degrade the overall quality and experience of the user, but eventually you will get used to it. MediaTek has developed features that are simple to use and cater to the latest trends. MiraVisionTM provides the high-definition, fluid video playback you would expect from an HD television screen while using a mobile device.
Performance
As Isaid earlier the performance of the phone so far is absolutely amazing. With a quad core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz having multiple applications open and gaming was piece of cake for the M1. I tried to squeeze and push the device to its limits I haven’t seen it lag yet, I have to say that Elephone did a great Job with this device. Comparing it to my Note 4 clocked at 2.7Ghz some apps run faster and much smoother on M1, maybe the reason for that is that the MediaTek CPU has a 64-bit architecture, but hey it’s still a 1.3Ghz CPU it won’t give you too much power.
Camera
The camera is not that great but not so bad either. I would rank it as a medium-range smartphone camera. OmniVision 13MP camera (physical 8.0MP, upgraded to 13MP with software) says Elephone. It also supports 1080p video recording. A variety of shooting modes like sunset, landscape and portrait are supported. And various filters in black and white, cameo, neon, etc, fun techniques like Smile Snapshot, Picture in Picture Mode and more, so obviously picture taking is more interesting.
Battery Life
You hardly find smartphones with awesome battery life, and this phone isn’t one. It has a very good battery life but not awesome. The idle times were amazing, better than my Note 4’s. The Elephone M1 lasted for 3 and a half days without charging while in the end I had 2hours and 30minutes of SOT. The M1 has two power saving modes , one is for intelligent power saving standby which means when the phone is idle it consumes way less energy and there is also the Battery Saver Mode which reduces the device’s performance and limits vibration and background processes.
Conclusion
Overall the Elephone M1 is an almost perfect smartphone, despite the beautiful elegant look with its all metal body design it also has an awesome display, a very good speaker, quite good back camera, great battery life and the performance is great. Don’t forget the awesome fingerprint scanner which is located in the back of the device. The only drawbacks I found on the M1 were the front camera and the lack of customizations on the System. Elephones UI (Interface) does a really good job of keeping up the performance. I would also like to point out that the M1 has a two slots one for SIM and one for microSD card up to 128GB, but you can also have two SIM cards instead. If you care about aesthetics then this smartphone is for you because it can combine enough performance for many different tasks and also having a smartphone that others will be jealous about. The best price I could find was at Geekbuying which they have it for $130. I think it’s a great deal since the phone it solid as rock and the performance brilliant in light to medium tasks.

Does it feel smooth? I'm currently deciding if I should buy this phone or the Mate 20 lite (I'm buying with Tre at the same price), I really like the screen and the camera but the SoC is slower on the A7. As long as it is a smooth UI I'll buy this one, since I'm not that interested in graphics demanding games and CPU intensive apps, I just need it to be usable without lags and random freezes.

Don't buy the Mate 20, i bought one before getting the A7, the screen in the Mate 20 is really bad, has one of the grey "ish" blacks I've seen on any recent phones, my unit also had a problem with hot pixels that were only noticeable on black colors in very dark environments

Is it really that bad? I mean, it's an LCD, obviously OLED screens are better, but I was told and I found online that it's a fairly good LCD for a mid-range phone. Also, I don't really mind the screen, I just need a smooth system, and from experience I know Samsung ones can be quite heavy. On the other hand, after two years and a half of EMUI I'd like something that looks newer, and Huawei has recently stopped providing bootloader codes for free. That said, I'll still keep EMUI if it means that it's smoother.

The Mate 20 has a faster chipset, if your priority is power then i guess that's your best option, having said that, the A7 is a very smooth device, i have not found any stutter or any apps that struggles to handle, i think the experience is very good
i primarily use my phone for media consumption and was very disappointed with the screen and audio quality of the Mate 20, the volume with headphones is below average in volume
this is the way i see it:
Mate 20
pros
faster chipset
feels very premium in hand
cons
screen not as good as the A7
sound volume and quality are below average
has a notch
A7
pros
fantastic screen without a notch
very good audio quality (has dolby atmos)
better camera than the mate 20
is widevine L3 certified so you can watch netflix at full hd
you get always on display
cons
the device is very light in a cheap kind of way,
front camera doesn't have autofocus
the side bezels are a bit bigger than we are used to in 2019, i'll take that over a notch
doesn't have usb type-c
i hope that helps with your decision

well, the xiaomi mi A2 is almost half the price of the A7, only $ 180, i don't think is a fair comparison, the A7 is better in every single way but that's to be expected from a device twice the price
if money is not a problem i would go for the A7, if you are on a budget and want to save some money then i guess the xiaomi is a good option, i've never had a xiaomi device so i can't really tell you what to expect

Thanks a lot, a check with Smart Switch revealed that there is an update for the Netherlands as well. I guess for a lot of other European countries tool. Rooted phones will not receive the update OTA, you must manually download it. For that you can use Sammobile.com which is excruciatingly slow however. If it works, use SmartSwitch instead. It is ree, quicker, less of a hassle and you can be sure you get the right version for your phone.

Youre getting a way better camera, super amoled, one ui with a7. One ui is the best skin right now.
Mi a2 has sd660 which is slightly better in gaming and youre getting android one. Better updates.
For me, id go with a7 because of one ui and the camera. Go with mi a2 if you feel like gaming but battery is terrible
