[Dec-24-2016] H850 20A DeOdexed - LG G5 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Developme

Your warranty is now void, don't blame me if your phone blows up blahblahblah.
Only system and kernel are being flashed, no Modem, BL, etc. You should update to 20A before using.
Have not tested this myself, due to not owning the H850. edit: flashed it on T-Mobile 830 for fun with 830 boot, no surprise, didn't work.
Decided to post anyway. If your going to use it, BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP
Based off of 20A Complete zip from @autoprime. Only things touched are bootanimation (pixel black) and renamed recovery-from-boot.bak. It's also been zip-aligned.
Flash in recovery, profit??
SuperSu and Busybox included. Only /system is wiped, data left alone.
Can dirty flash over current 20A if you like.
Any errors, etc, would most likely be related to deodexing as all files are stock.- Again, haven't tested this one myself
Link: H850_20A_DeOdexed
MD5: bb58ff90c21bbc09b4d0f1c132fa91b3
If anyone would like to use this as a base, Great! Would appreciate some credit. [emoji3]
Enjoy.
Optional: Adjust Screen Color , Fluence HD Patch
Credits: @autoprime for stock zip. @Chainfire for supersu. @SuperR. for the kitchen. @Tilde88 for pointing me in the right direction. @PlayerZ_ZawZaw for bootanimation. @jcadduono for TWRP.
It's people like them that make Android great!
Finally, thanks to Google/LG & XDA.
...whew.

Um, so why post something for others that you haven't even tested for yourself ? Seems a bit dubious? No?

Edit... At least have an H850 tester first?
Regardless, thanks for another option for a ROM. Hopefully something good 😊

Let me know if you end up trying it. I'll update OP and give you credit.

Right on! So this should work well with FluenceHD, potentially trying to bring myself to update to Nougat, but man Xposed has some pretty clutch tools, and reverting back to marshmallow I'm reading is a few more steps than I would like to take in a given night, you know if I decide that no ads on YouTube and background playback is worth giving up...
Still thank you for uploading and I will report back if I decide to pause Xposed in my day to day

It'd be nice if you could dual boot it alongside MM (wishful thinking). Don't think the kernel would boot on the old bootloader....maybe someone with more knowledge can help, or a daredevil could just try to flash it. The older MM modem should still work though, maybe. Shouldn't hurt? if your flashing in dual boot or just through TWRP normally because there's no modem, BL etc being flashed just system&boot.
Now with my old S4 there was no problem running an older BL with newer kernels, but this phone....idk.

Received error while flashing, code 7, seems it couldn't locate a certain filesystem and aborts installation

Hmmm I removed the assert from updater script already....maybe TWRP needs to be updated??
Just finished DeOdexing 20B so I hope this is working.....

Im using 3.0.2-1
I'll get you a log soon and will gladly test 20b whenever that's uploaded

Going to try to flash this 20A myself soon, with a replaced 830 boot.img and see what happens......

Ok, just downloaded 850 20A checked MD5, then replaced boot.img with 830. Flashed fine, no problems. Wouldn't boot though....no surprise really.
Have you checked the md5? could be a bad download, it is mega after all. Can't think of another reason why it would flash here but not on yours....

Rooted NK2 AT&T t337a w/ Tutorial

******UPDATE FIX YOUR T337A WITH LOLIPOP FRIMWARE FILE******* I do not take credit for this file at all, all credit goes to MichaelSaya. Here is a direct quote from him "Here is the link to my Google drive with the Official Lollipop Firmware for the AT&T TAB 4, SM-T-337-A https://mega.nz/#!0Q4AXQgZ!Df-pTUo6eA80kGTrzpYCAJ0ilGbUzMYCE4nRtvume6s Place in AP slot in Odin and flash. Be aware that many have been bricked. Only root with Kingroot and when you reboot, you will lose root. Simply re-root with Kingroot and you will be fine. DO NOT REPLACE KINGROOT WITH SUPERSU!!!!! YOU WILL BRICK!!!!! But we have the firmware now so we can now play around knowing that if we mess something up, we can fix it."
I found a way to re-root the t337a with the latest OTA NK2. Not sure if I was the only one in this boat or whatever but I got bored and started experiment. First thing i did was Flash the older NF4 kernel with ODIN. Put this in the PDA slot and flash! It was successful, I downloaded Towel root, and bam! Root working again ! Cheers!
Tutorial:
1. Get the latest drivers to make sure everything goes smooth http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.c...NG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.5.45.0.exe
2. Get Odin if you don't have it yet: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1168421
3. Download the NF4 kernel from the attachment below
4. Go into Odin.
5. Click on PDA, search for the file you downloaded boot.tar and select it. Pic: http://i.imgur.com/XrqVPLZ.png
6. Now, put your tablet into download mode! If you don't know how to enter download mode go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDE1oB2-nYw its the s5 but same concept.
7. Plug in your tablet and it should say something like this in message window in odin: http://i.imgur.com/uWFc4YX.png
8. Now, hit start. Let the process run. If all goes well it should say RESET! I dont know what happened to this pic lol http://i.imgur.com/AbH5qW7.png but hopefully you get the point.
9. Give the tablet a few minutes to boot. Keep it plugged in until you see PASS! http://i.imgur.com/eTuHDUl.png
10. Go get towel root. Run it. And BAM! You are rooted again
*** WARNING *** This doesn't work with the lolipop update. I have tried to downgrade my tablet and it did softbrick it. Do not try to downgrade your tablet/try this method if you are running lolipop 5.1.1. This only works on kitkat. HOWEVER. I have the lolipop boot.tar. Use the instructions above to unbrick your tablet (This will not give you root access. I'm going to look at it and see if I can figure something out to get root access). I have not tested this myself because mine is at a friends house BUT this should work. Cheers

Hi,
Neat ! so if the older kernel was compiled before towel root's october deadline [i think it was october] when that vulnerability
was closed then that would make sense. :good:
so the rom run just fine with the older kernel ?
could you post the older NF4 kernel/boot.img and modules ?
thanks
m
Absolutely! Heres the thing. I cant post links yet. Is there anyway i can pm itnto you and idk you set up a post? Or is there another way

Yeah you indeed do have the wrong device, however if you want i can upload the NE1 kernel (first kernel for the t537a). However... i have not tested it for this device. It should be the same concept but im not 100 percent sure it will work. Do you want to at least try? Ill post it in my next reply if you are interested in giving it a go.

CocaFoca,
hi, this is off-topic but, do you have a working recovery for the 337a yet? Or a lead on unlocking it?
I've alternately tried to mod safestrap and actually build it from what sources Hashcode had up
but no dice.
on the odin image, it may have been packed wrong,
run this script in the same directory as the boot.img
#!/bin/bash
tar -H ustar -c boot.img > boot.tar
md5sum -t boot.tar >> boot.tar
mv boot.tar boot.tar.md5
odin complains about the md5 sometimes so you can skip
the last line, it will still flash.

I unfortunately do not. I do believe I know why safestrap isnt workin SElinux wont disable at all for me... Tried booting safestrap for different att phones and it woulndt stick always said not active. I believe we need to find a way to make it permissive then it will work? Tried the one on the market didnt work. I did get one to make it permissive but it reset after reboot :/ im just a newbie at this stuff but tbh I want to learn. Anyways... Im interested in this... Will look into it tomorrow

Coca,
ok you may need selinux enabled busybox, check this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...de-busybox-snapshot-building-android-t2857650 , the OP is a good read the links are a ways down, i've tested out both versions and they seem square.
my last thought is to replace the two distinct busybox binaries in safestrap, busybox and bbx, my attempts with safestrap
end up rebooting to my actual recovery if that provides a lead. the version i chose for modding was Galaxy S4 (ATT) [JFLTEATT]

Just had a had a thought, maybe we could tweak a twrp version for say the t-mobile version and try to code safestrap into that and make it boot on our t337a? Recently had the need for a recovery and I want to help get it working! [Stock][d800][AT&T] Lollipop D80030F - Partitions

Dump of Stock Partitions
Lollipop d800-30f
Since we don't have a d80030f KDZ or TOT yet, I decided I would try to do the next best thing. I did a back to factory 20c -> 20y -> 30f upgrade progression. Then I did a factory reset, followed by one click root. Then I dumped all of the partitions that are normally part of the KDZ.
The zip includes Stock 30f images of:
aboot
dbi
laf
misc (removed, not needed - specific to each phone)
persist
rpm
sbl1
tz
I have the modem partition, which will get its own zip and its own post. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-g2/development/modems-att-stock-modems-t3106221)
I also dumped system, but it is huge. Please don't download it if you're not a ROM maker (it'll make Google mad at me): https://drive.google.com/folderview...NEb0dUVlpQenhrOHZsaGYyQ3ZiOGV0LWM&usp=sharing

Here ya go.
Flashable zip of the whole ROM will be soon (probably work on it tonight).
@blastgator, what will be the difference between your flashable zip and the stock OTA, other than the fact that it's a zip? Also, do you find it preferable to use stock LP on our device vs BlissPop or other 5.1.1 ROMs? I spend a lot of time and computing power building nightlies, want to know if it's pointless. I don't think so, but now that we have LP, I needed to ask you. PMing you!

I still run KK. I am just doing some of this stuff to get ready for the upcoming move. I was going to start looking into ROM creation, based on stock ROM (since we don't really have any at this point).
Therefore, I don't really know the answer to your question - "is it worth it?"
And yes, the zip is just what I recovered after doing the FOTA. Much easier grabbing these instead of having to flash 20c and then force 2x FOTAs.

I slapped a zip together earlier for the stock ROM - it wasn't cooperative and made me mad so I gave up for the evening. Kept getting error:
E: Failed to sysMapFile
It was >2GB so that might have been part of the problem.

Exactly what I'm looking/waiting for as well. 100% stock Lollipop rom in a flashable zip format. Well, a debloated version would be better but I'll debloat myself if need be. Our Devs are amazing, I'll hang tight and wait for it
Awesome, thank you so much! There hasn't been much movement for a stock LP ROM for the D800, so I'm glad you're doing it!

It might not work! Please make sure you know how to recover!!!
I would not post something I would not try on my phone.
HOWEVER, I have NOT tried this on my phone because I had some family issues come up and I can't be "off the grid" so to speak to test things in recovery.
This flashes 20y bootstack, 30f modem, 30f system, and 30f bumped boot.img. Nothing else /should/ be modified. Root may or may not work. It appears installed, but you may need to run "One-Click-Root" or some similar thing after install.
Also, I modified nothing other than root and doing a bump. FOTA will still be functional as well as any other nasties that could cause issues down the line. This is STOCK!
If anyone tries, please report back, for everyone's sake.

Question can i flash that from 20k? or do i need to be on something specific?

I downloaded the beta earlier but ran out of time today to do the install. Before I get brave and attempt it tonight or tomorrow, has anyone done it already and if so what were the results? Thanks.

Didn't work. I had a bad update-binary in there. Once I fixed that I kept playing mix and match because of fastboot error. Still no luck, and needed my phone back. I'll tinker more later.
Tried full 20y bootstack. Tried just aboot and laf 20y, rest as LP. Tried each of this with bumped and unbumped stock LP boot.img.
Bumping gave me a padding error, guessing it might be partially related to that. Unsure.
Thanks for the update, saved me a few headaches I'll hang in there until you get a version that boots. Thanks for doing this!

Thank you @blastagator for all your help. No rush. To know someone is looking into it will hopefully spark some interest in the d800 community! Once again - your contributions around here have been invaluable.

Any way to root MRA58N?

BETA-SuperSU-v2.52.zip just gets things stuck at the boot animation. Is there any working method at this point?

before you install supersu please install a different kernel, i personally use the elemental x kernel.
if its bootlooping now, what you can do is too go back to recovery and restore (assuming you have already backup) otherwise just reinstall (re flash) the mra58N
hope its help, if you need further instruction do not hesitate to reply
Removed - wrong device... duh... I don't want to be responsible for bricking someone's phone.

I know what you were trying to say, and you're wrong. We have hammerhead support.

Oh well, it's not the first time I've been wrong, so no worries on that score, but at least it's ended up with a positive result for the OP.
Actually I do have a hammerhead root as well
http://superuser.phh.me/nexus/hammerhead/MRA58N/
Take boot-su-eng.img fastboot flash it, install phh's Superuser from playstore, and you're rooted.
The proper post would rather be http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/wip-selinux-capable-superuser-t3216394 instead
Edit: Oh right I'm laggy as well.

This worked after the MRA58N update but one of my apps that requires root does not work.(it says I don't have root???)
I'm sure it is an issue with the app because root checker says it is rooted along with es file explorer and adaway.
Thanks
Well, this root is still in development. Which app is it?
Thanks phh. It's working so far.
I couldn't get this app to work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/widget-toggle-cell-radio-5-0-xda-t2945397
But it then I read the fine print:
Requirements: When SELinux is set to enforcing: a superuser app with support for a SELinux context parameter (-cn). Currently, only SuperSU supports this parameter.

Any chance of this happening with your root?
Can you test http://phhusson.free.fr/temp/new-boot.img ? I have no sim in my N5. I just ignore the -cn parameter, that seems to do the trick.
Incredible. That solved it. I never expected such instant gratification. Thank you!
Do you have a thread I can watch for a stable release?
Good, thanks.
I'm not sure what you're asking: You want to have a thread as for when this SuperUser will be considered stable, or when I'll make a properly generated version?
For the first one, I don't have such a thread yet (I mean except for http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/wip-selinux-capable-superuser-t3216394 )
For the latter, I've already regenerated (same http://superuser.phh.me/nexus/hammerhead/MRA58N/ place)
So being someone who hasn't rooted or installed ROMs in a few years...is there a guide I can follow and then use these files? It seems that some of the tools are the same as they were a few years ago, but would rather not mess things up too much. On a Nexus 6P...so time to play with the 5.

Would you mind to point out the differences of these images in short?
[ ] boot-su-eng.img
[ ] boot-su-power.img
[ ] boot-su-user.img
My guess is that there are differences in sepolicies and/or dm-verity handling... Correct?
Would help me/others to decide which one to take for testing :highfive:
Cheers,
scholbert
None of them has dm-verity disabled. I might consider adding a version for it.
boot-su-eng has su permissive
boot-su-power has all known sepolicy enabled: ie as soon as I test a new usage which doesn't have SELinux rules, I add the rules.
boot-su-user has only the known policies I consider safe
su-power and su-user's policies are really light at the moment, and I don't expect it to be usable at the moment. (but any help/bug reports on them are welcomed)

My wife and I got to visit there several years ago and we both had a wonderful time.

Phusson, I got a bit confused. I was trying hard to root my hammerhead with MRA58N, but it keeps bootlooping. Which of the files you uploaded should I flash? And if all, in what order. Should I do it via ADB?

Flash again the original factory image, and then fastboot flash boot boot-su-eng.img
With boot-su-eng.img coming from http://superuser.phh.me/nexus/hammerhead/MRA58N/boot-su-eng.img
Then reboot
All in fastboot mode

[US996] 100% Stock deODEXd ROM

Do you have a US996, and want to be able to start modding/theming the ROM? FINE! HERE! Lol...
Please know, this is 100% stock, including kernel. Also, I do not own a US996 (but I do own the H918). This ROM has already been tested (thanks @monsieurtalbot !)
No changes on the ROM. SuperSU gets flashed alongside the ROM. Oh, and setenforce=0 is set via init.qcom.post-boot
Before proceeding. It is absolutely necessary for you to be on a stable TWRP build (currently, RC8, 3.0.2-0, and 3.0.2-1). Also, you must have already have had decrypted your ENTIRE phone. If your phone bootloops into TWRP, you probably didn't decrypt, and/or didn't flash no-verity properly, or it could also be that you are on an old TWRP build. . You have been warned.
This is for the Factory Unlocked US Cellular. Untested on the other US996.
Here we have the base NRD90M ROM from LG. The only difference from this, and what came on your phone is, that it is not ODEXd anywhere. DeODEXing basically bundles all parts of an APK together which saves space, allows for modification of the APK (like for System UI and stuff), and ever so slightly increases performance (by the littlest amount possible). This is ONLY for the US996.
Also, no need to wipe, as /system is fully removed (your apps and settings will stay since that is in /data). Since we only have 1 base from LG, ROMs don't need to be wiped, even if coming from ODEX.
Major thanks to @Chainfire for creating SuperSU
Major thanks to @jcadduono for the root exploit, AND for the TWRP image(s), AND for inspiring me to learn to do it. Also, he supplied the stock System.img, boot.img, and sources for a custom kernel!/RealMVP
SUPER happy to say I am using this currently and it is flawless. Fantastic base for our custom unlocked US996 community.
No more systemless root. This is a full root and I was finally able to delete the stupid boot sounds.
Thx for letting me be the test dummy.
Just so everyone knows I dirty flashed in TWRP from stock and I have had 0 issues. I am a heavy power user.
Everything is working as it should be.
Since it's not specified in the OP - let me make sure that everyone understands that this is for the USA Factory Unlocked US996 ONLY.
Super excited for some custom roms. =)

Moving this conversation over from the H918 thread...
I would love to see the FM working on our US996 . . .
BUT - I've had no luck flashing the available zips so far that are for the H918.
FM Service crashes - I figure the chip is there - just needs to likely be enabled on the kernel end.
SO - if you are truly looking into making us a kernel, let's put that on a likely very long todo list. lmao <3

There's another US996 for US Cellular - as we all know - so as things get released possibly for that model (which holds the same model number for whatever reason) and this thread ages - it might not be a terrible idea to exclusively specify so some poor soul down the road doesn't flash this to the wrong device... :highfive:

Shouldn't be too hard to enable in the kernel. And if it isn't in the source, it could added i guess

It would have to be later tonight, getting ready for work now. You can just double click the zip on your pc. If it opens without an error, you are good to go.
Would you happen to have a stock ODEXed rom for US996 to post as you did for the H918?
Also, are you planning to build anything off the US996 stock deODEXed rom or is it for safety net purposes?
I was thinking about diving into the v20 world to do some dev work, though am I reading this right? Each ROM has to be based off of the system.img for each model number? That makes it hard to decide which device model to buy

I honestly am not sure, but I did this just to be safe. As it turns out, FM is not included in the US996 ROM or kernel. I don't know of any other discrepancies, but that was enough for me.
IMO the H918 is the way to go, and just Unlock it from Tmobile. But that's just my opinion.

I suppose I could upload a stock ODEXd, but, I don't see the point. :cyclops:
You're right, no point. It's early in the game, hopefully there will be a .tot or .kdz (lg equivalent of ruu) for the eventual 7.1 update.
Thanks for your efforts to date.
Can this ROM be flashed on a sprint 997 that was unlocked and rooted using the dirty Santa method?
The reason I'm asking is because that process seems to change my phone to an unlocked 996 and I want to start fresh with a stock ROM.
Well this is weird. I went to install this and TWRP is telling me I have the wrong device. It is telling me i have a 918 when I know for a fact its a 996....

It detects your model from build.prop I believe.
Can you change your model in your build.prop and retry?
Would anyone be willing on trying out a custom kernel? FM might be working. Plus other things and stuff .
I don't have a US996, so I can't test it. So be sure to have a stock boot.img and your stock /system/lib/modules folder. If this fails, you can simply flash your stock boot.img right within twrp, and then push the modules folder into /system/lib/modules. Or you can reflash the ROM.
i was able to dirty flash this straight onto my stock VS995 with the konverge kernel flashed as well and the only problem i have is the static boot but that's easily fixed

basically until the phone actually boots into the os it looks like a messed up tv showing only static colors and you cant see anything, what you do is you wait until it boots into the os and shut the screen off then hold your finger over the front camera and it fixes it and everything is normal.

Any chance you could do it, If it's not too much trouble? I'd like to install it on my F800L, if I can, and I seem to be having issues with the current deodex'd version.
If I'm honest, I have no idea if it will make any difference whatsoever, and the issue could be something completely unrelated (ihavenoideawhatimdoing), but I'd just like to try it, anyway. I got an odex'd H918 working, so It has me wondering if it makes any difference?

950U stock rom 7.0 with flashable root... SafeStrap needed

First off Safestrap is need for this to work...:good:
This is a complete stock system .IMG I pulled from BQL1 /BRB1 just to keep the same as rest of the roms out there.....Fully bloated nothing removed...100% Stock
The stock images here will now work for SafeStraped Revision 5 or 6 bootloaders in order to obtain nougat rooted
No mods/No crazy fancy foot work....This is a do it your self stock rooted rom setup for all who wants it....
And no this uses the same kernel as other roms, Battery charges to 80% like any other for Snapdragon S8
Manual fix for 80% charge
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/wip-manual-charge-past-80-snap-dragon-t3918553
This is the last nougat firmware available before We went to nougat...
Super stock 7.0 No bags/No wallplugs
Without further ado
I have updated with BRB1 as well at bottom of this post.
Download the stock system .IMG from here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kPJaF4AMNyMr-3RLfycKuX3ZOxPQeWz1/view?usp=sharing BQL1 here
We need busy box from here...... https://drive.google.com/open?id=1k1zOTMAAuqL1KydoHj_QpOwmOQQqSTXT I used this one as i know it works if you want to update go ahead.
We need system mode SU Not system-less from here..... https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/v2-64-2-66-supersu-mode-t3286120
Ok Now we got all that. Place the system .img on internal SD card and extract there.....Then goto TWRP in SafeStrap......
We want to wipe system cache and dalvik....Like always...:good::good::good:
Then after that flash that sys.img to system..
We need to then flash Su and Busy box....For good measure factory reset after all said and done...
Before reboot Reboot to download mode....
In download mode then flash your respective CSC file in Normal odin I use 3.13
If you do not do this you will have a bunch of metro pcs cricket and tmobile crap as well as double and triple menus,So you are warned
Once all this is done reboot system as normal sign in and do your thing enjoy a 100% stock rooted rom.....
No xposed no nothing Be aware xposed will break Bluetooth pairing on reboots...
Also on a side note.If you are on bootloader revision 3 or 4 you cannot downgrade to root nor is root available for these revisions
Revision 5 or 6 bootloaders see here for safestrap, https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/development/root-t3904613
Then you can follow this starting with system img... DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLASH REV 4 OR LOWER BOOTLOADERS ON REVISION 5
Make sure to give our man @jrkruse the proper credits he deserves for Bringing this to revision 5 bootloaders..
Instructs for rev 5 or 6
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79004426&postcount=29
Again you must already Safe-strap installed...
Credits
As always Thank @partcyborg for root and wonderful rom for our S8.
@mauam for the version of SU downloads
As well as @Chainfire for all of his hard work and SU
@YashdSaraf for his version of busy box
@TheMadScientist For all this crap here lol:good::good::good:
If I am missing any one just hollar at me:good:
Disclaimer This is a build your own system from scratch So any issues you may have can be possibly helped here but in the end it is your own accord of flashing and modding Dont cry to me when you break something
Im a mechanic Not a rom developer I just know there are several out there that dont like the other roms available for our S8 locked bootloader. So just another option:good::good::good:
This is Jrkruzes safestrap method and zips in this post very helpful
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79004426&postcount=29
And BRB1 latest 7.0 here https://drive.google.com/open?id=1h6e-3qCkE4JhiAlGjk94jpCz2CVMir8Z
And here is the BRB1 baseband CP for odin https://drive.google.com/open?id=1BuUc-R6jU7ha4nn4vkPrLfvfz2axi5Ru
Flashing this is similar to flashing the first one.But if you are on my stock rooted now you can dirty flash this system followed by su then busybox and then open odin and reflash CSC or a no signal situation will present itself.
Other than that I did dirty flash all of my apps and most of my settings were left untouched...
Thanks i'll try later this week

By the way @TheMadScientist, you should make a correction to your OP about your build number versions. One of them is wrong. Specifically when you say the build number BLQ1 twice in the OP. It should be BQL1 instead of BLQ1 so people don't get confused. I know it's a minor typo but I thought I'd point it out. Or maybe you noticed but didn't care to fix it, who knows lol. Also, quick question, is there anyway I could go about deodexing these ROMS of yours? Or should I message PartCyborg how to go about it?

This will not work with BL 3. You cannot downgrade either. There is no way for you to root with ANY ROM on the regular S8 above BL 3 as of right now.
Sent from my SM-G950U using XDA Labs
Thanks for the step by step.. I'm hoping to do this with the g950u1 firmware. I am guessing since you said you must start with rooted firm, if I use magisk and get systemless root the add safe strap then proceed to your steps that should put me in the right direction.. then I could make a full system backup to make a flushable stock pre rooted firmware I could store in case of a rainy day.. does this sound logical or am I a bit mistaken?. I'd like to create a true 4 file firmware from a system backup after I make any adjustments or add any apks so that if I ever need to reinstall.. everything will flash without having to readjust settings or use data to download any of the apps/flushable .zip files as well as avoid the need for re writing the build.prop and such. I'm open for any suggestions if you have any. Thanks again!
In first part there is no CP just sys.img SU & BusyBox
So I assume no need of CP there
And in BRB1 there is CP file do we have to flash that thru regular Odin or we can skip that.
Thanks
