New to this forum, wanted to share this app I wrote to get rid of spam sms. I dont know about other countries but its a big menace here in India. This is a very simple app, wrote over a weekend, totally free and has no adds or any such nags. Hoping this would be helpful to someone. Comments and suggestions welcome.
Features:
1. Block sms if sender is not in contacts.
2. Block duplicate sms.
3. Add sender to “Allowed List”.
4. Optional status bar notification.
5. Restore blocked sms to inbox.
6. Automatic & manual deletion of collected spam.
Android market link: SunLikeStar.noSpamSms
I don't really have much use for it at the moment, but it looks great, and is a good idea.
I'm sure it will be useful for a few people.
Thanks mystichobo
Rather than block all unknown texts, is it possible to add a number to the block list?
Yes, i was also thinking about adding this feature. I'll get it done and update here.
Many Thanks!
I just tried this app and it's fantastic!
Thanks so much to SunLikeStar for creating it!!
This app has no "permissions abuse" and does a perfect job!
Is the source code available? That would also be nice...
I'm very pleased... :^)

[Q] [Q, APP] obfuscate calendar data

gday folks
intro
i'm planning an app that will hide valid/ private calendar data within a larger body of fake data, such that any calendar u.i could be used to view & edit these data, and any of the standard android synch tools would also function as expected
the design would work in such a way that any copy of the calendar data could be de-obfuscated by any implementation of the algo combined with the shared secret
this must work without root, and would be nice to appear to the casual observer as a valid calendar
tech. specific
my limited understanding is that a custom calendar provider would act as a suitable intermediary between the stored data and the de-obfuscated data that should be displayed in the (/ any) calendar u.i.
android api: calendar-provider
i envisage a bunch of patsi... err, notable people's names could also be scraped from wikipedia on a per-key basis which maybe a grand datasource for 'attendees'
phone numbers could be scrambled to uselessness if the data model's allowance for string length isn't too restrictive
times could be stretched and skewed
the number of events could be increased by a factor of 3 or more to give enough junk data without raising any eyebrows, or imposing too excessively on synch adaptors or service providers
wikipedia: steganography
please share any thoughts you might have, from the thoughts on using 'calendar provider', to the security, to any existing functionality like this or even just answer the poll!

Whatsapp is becoming really a privacy concern ..
Is any of you guys is using their other brands ; like instagram, FB Messenger. . Etc?
Are you blocking them from accessing private data?
Are you using any modded apps that they don't like?
I don't know but I think that they are trying to link everything they own together .. so if you block any of it in away that the info they get is not identical , they block you, and force you to supply the info they failed to collect from your devices ..

Instagram only stores viewing info for the discover algorithm (on the search tab), they don't allow you to access yours or anyone's viewed information, as in you don't receive any of that data. If you want privacy, why not private your account? And block him as well.

I dont want to make it private because I want others to see my profile just not him. And even if i block him he has another account which im not aware of. but thanks anyway
To be frank, there is no way to find out. Since the company doesn't share any information with third-party apps. The apps available on the internet are fake.
You can read a detailed blog post on this here (https://geekermag.com/who-stalks-my-instagram-profile/)
There is now lol

Samsungs's E-Mail App (v6.0.04.6): Can it encrypt/decrypt emails with GPG?

Dear All,
This is my very first post on XDA, so please bear with me if I may not be able to describe my question well enough in this post. I own a (Magisk'ed) Samsung S7 (SM-G930F) and wonder if/how I could encrypt/decrypt emails in Samsung's official email app (v6.0.04.6) with GPG.
Whereas I have seen several posts on the internet, e.g. this one [1], that describe a "security options" section in the settings of the email app, these were always some older(?) email apps from Samsung (or apps bundled/created for a specific carrier?). I.e. my Samsung email app has no such options (if I have not completely overseen them).
If there is nothing "onboard" for encryption/decryption with GPG in Samsung's email app, are there any convenient tools/addons that you would recommend or other email apps that include GPG?
I am aware of MIME encryption/decryption using 3rd-party apps, but that implies copying emails from the email app to that 3rd-party app, as far as I understand and that is a no-go for me, I am afraid. Thanks for your helpful hints.
Cheers

Sorry to push. Does nobody use email encryption/decryption on a Samsung S7? If yes, which email app do you use?
