Greetings and welcome to assist. The bands are normally governed by hardware and can't be altered

Unlock LTE bands

Hi, I bought a Xiaomi mi4i from China recently but cannot use 3g (900mhz) and LTE 4G b1 (800mhz) in the Spain , I would like unlock this bands , I read other threads but was for mi4 .... I know that other phones with this processor had this bands (zte blade S6) .
Sorry form my english.
I think the bands mi 4i work on are
3gHSDPA-(850), (1900), (2100)
4g/LTE-3(1800), 7(2600), 38(2600), 39(1900) 40(2300) 41(2500)
I dont see ur band and sorry but i have no knowledge of unlocking other bands dont know if u can actually do that to phone but u check with the Carriers which work on these bands in ur area that can solve it
P.s it greatly depends on the carrier then changing bands on ur phone
Tho this might help

HUAWEI Honor X2 GEM-702L 4G - (newb)

I'm in the UK,
Will a Phone SIM from Three UK network work in the HUAWEI Honor X2 GEM-702L 4G ?
the reason I ask here rather than Three support is because those guys previously steered me wrong,
any advice appreciated before I order this phone from China, thanks guys.

In the UK the bands used are bands 1,3,7,8 and 20. The Gem-702L has bands 1,3,7 and 8 but not band 20. I'm pretty sure band 20 is the lower mhz (800 MHz) band for in building coverage (similar to T-Mobile's band 12 here in the US) You should get LTE just fine but in buildings where LTE coverage isn't the greatest you may only get 3G as the X2 doesn't utilize band 20 in the UK. From what I see for Three is that they use 2100mhz for 3G and 800mhz and 1800mhz for 4G. The X2 doesn't have 800mhz but has 1800 mhz so 4G should work.
Sorry. Posted on the wrong thread.
I am on Three in Austria here use "3" LTE 2600 and 1800 MHz perfect for Mediapad X2 703L and 702L,since the two have no Band20
But Three in UK use LTE Bands 1800 and 800MHz,only Mediapad X2 701L supports 800MHz (Band 20)
But LTE 800 is used only in rural areas and in the city the 1800MHz
Hiya, I'm on the 3 network in the uk, GEM 702L and I have no problem with 4g or any other network issues.
Bought the phone from 'Oxford Street' on amazon, not directly from china.
many thanks guys,
it turns out the phone I have ordered is the GEM 703L version, according to the Huawei web site it uses the following 4G bands
1800MHz (Band 3)
2100MHz (Band 1)
2600MHz (Band 7)
UK Three network uses 4G on
1800MHz (Band 3)
800MHz (Band 20)
and 3G on
2100MHz (Band 1)
it should be OK.

XT1557 frequencies

Hi,
I'm thinking of getting myselft a moto g 2015 turbo edition xt1557.
I am ready to give up on band 20 (seems to be impossible to unlock it on snapdragon devices) and living with 3g where 4g is only delivered on band 20.
While I was roaming the internet I landed upon an italian page that gives all information about chinese handsets.
Among those informations there is a worrying one:
european 3g bands are 900 Mhz and 2100 Mhz. Same as China, but they can't be used as EU uses UMTS-FDD, while China uses UMTS-TDD.
I think I understood that merlin was for the Indian market. Since I can't find this information anywhere else, could someone tell me which 3g merlin uses?
Thank you very much indeed for your help in advance.
Have a nice one.

Keep in mind that country and service provider play a significant role as well, just because a band is available in the EU doesn't mean that your provider has access to it. There was also a thread discussing unlocking freq bands, but it hasn't been too active lately, so I wouldn't put a lot of faith in that option.......
as for the bands,
xt 1557 uses :
2G : GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
3G : HSDPA 850 / 900 / 2100 -
4G : LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 7(2600), 8(900), 28(700), 40(2300) - XT1557
(* source - gsm arena.)
Hope that helps.
Thank you

just ordered G955FD and have a question

i didnt notice i had ordered the g955fd until a day after and im wondering since i live in the usa if im going to be able to use my carrier on this device. i use metropcs and live in a semi-rural area in georgia. i spend a lot of time in the city aswell. any info would be greatly appreciated.
MetroPCS is a US prepaid wireless service offered by T-Mobile US. MetroPCS uses T-Mobile US's GSM (1900MHz), a combination of UMTS/HSPA+(850MHz/1900MHz) and their 4G LTE networks.
For UMTS (3G) MetroPCS works on bands 2 and 4. UMTS B2(1900 PCS) and B4(1700/2100 AWS 1).
For LTE (4G) MetroPCS works on bands 2, 4, 12, 66 and 71. LTE B2(1900 PCS), B4(1700/2100 AWS 1), B12(700 ac), B66(1700/2100) and B71(600).
Samsung Galaxy S8+ G955FD supports all these UMTS/LTE bands except the B71(600) band. Usually GSM operators use higher frequency bands like the 2100/1900 MHz bands and rarely they use the lower frequency bands like the 700/600 MHz bands. So your G955FD will work flawlessly on 3G/4G MetroPCS network.
You can use LTE Discovery app from Google play store to check your band online while using your mobile. You get the band number on the Notification bar real time.

Thank you for this very detailed post! I do have one more question though. Do I need to flash any CSC? It seems like I was getting much better connection on my Nexus 6P than I am on this phone right now.
I'm running Renovate ICE 14.1 right now and I'm wondering if its possible to flash Snapdragon CSC on Exynos variants. I have tried it before on completely stock rom with no luck, but I have seen people say its okay to flash Snapdragon CSC on the Exynos variant of this device. Once again I really appreciate all this information <3
