It will work fine... One with a higher rating may charge faster, but it shouldn't be significantly different.

Replacement AC charger cable

I recently forgot my AC charger and cable at a Hotel. I found a HTC charger for $8 at Amazon but it didn't come with the HTC power cable. Without that power cable it will only charge at a trickle instead at the full AC rate. Does anyone know of where I can find a replacement charger cable? The ones on Amazon are regular USB cables and not the HTC cable.
You could try verizon. They usually stock the replacement stuff.
the plug on the eris has a standard usb micro type b port, with one corner extended to make it look like a different plug, but it's still a usb micro b port.
you can buy essentially any charger for that, or just a usb cable to plug into your computer or any ac-usb converter.
I personally use just a usb to micro usb cable. I personally got one that is longer than the stock one so that I can use my phone while it's charging if I'm in bed or something.
I personally get all my cables from this site:
http://www.pchcables.com/usbtytomibpd.html
They are super awesome people and local to my area, i have yet to find better deals in town.
Shop around in your area for a "cables" store, you may have one in your area too. or if not these guys do shipping, but im not sure how much it is, but if you need any other cables it may be worth it.
I have never noticed a difference from the 15' i got, to the stock 3' cable that came with the phone.
i do know that AC Charges the phone faster, then the DC Car charger being 2nd, then plugged into a PC being the slowest. i think its due to the voltages that the adapters output to the phone, with AC adapter being the highest.
For the ac adapter or cigarette lighter adapters, i got mine on ebay for super cheap, like $3 with shipping i think it was for both. I dont notice a performance difference, just the build quality is cheap, but how often have you broken your ac adapter? lol your more likely to lose it
Just my 2 cents, hope it helps
I bought this back in Nov. Cheap and it works great. I bought this for a buddy as well and it working out great for him too.

any blackberry or old motorola charger will work. I switched from blackberry over to the eris and all of my chargers work with this phone.

Cheapest / best cables around. At least IMHO. I buy ALL my cables from them and so should you.
I second the monoprice. Their prices are so low it's silly.

[Q] Charging problem (micro usb)

Hello,
I have a Moto G 16Gb version from amazon.fr. Now I have a problem with charging the device. There was a charger from motorola in the package (a White one) that works without any problem.
Here at home I have another micro usb charger from my Samsung Galaxy S3 / A tablet / chinese phone / and from a Raspberry pi. All these chargers don't work on the Moto G... Is there any difference? I thought that Micro USB was a Standard worldwide ?
Think I found something. The chargers that doesn't work are chargers with an output of 1000mA. Then I took a charger (with the same USB cable) with an output of 500mA and it works. So all chargers with 1000mA are worthless with this phone I think.
I use a charger with 1000 mA and it works...
Support says it's best to use a branded charger as the charger needs to fulfill certain specifications to be able to work. But you used a Samsung charger anyway - maybe it's an issue with the phone?

The higher rating has no bearing on the charge delivered, the device will charge at an appropriate rate.
True, tried my car charger (2A) and it worked.
But it doesn't work with my Raspberry Pi charger, Jiayu charger, ...
So I have to buy a different brand of charger I think. But it remains strange. So, If I am by a friend, and I want to charge my phone and he has a different brand of charger ...

Correct ! My opinion that a 1000mA doesn't work is not true. But it can be that brand X works and brand Y doens't work. That's my conclusion so far

Charging the OnePlus One

i got a oneplus and am wondering if its okay to use a 3rd party charger. i got the anker 40w 5 port charger and would like to know if that charger would be safe to use with the oneplus one. or should i stick with using the original charger? thanks
You can use any charger. But if the output is any less than 2.1Ah you'll charge quite slowly. You also need to use the original cable or a cable with a 24AWG or better rating.

Woah, good to know... I use the OEM charger/cable for the main, overnight charges.
Otherwise the other ones I have kicking around are:
3ft and 10ft - USB 2.0 A Male to Micro 5pin Male 28/24AWG Cable w/ Ferrite Core (Gold Plated)
6ft - USB 2.0 A Male to Micro 5pin Male Premium (Gold Plated) - not as heavy gauge as the above
So if I use my the cables mentioned above is it an issue? Or would I just expect slow charging? I use those for PC connectivity and charging at work.
Anything less than 24AWG will result in at least slow charging, and in some cases it won't charge fully.

I just use my old HTC charger/cable and it charges fine

At the same speed as with the OEM charger? It's impossible.

I didn't say at the same speed, just that it charges fine
It went from zero to full in about 2 hours from memory the other day, maybe a bit longer I can't remember
Gonna buy the kopi cable recommended in the other thread. The OEM cable is too short for my use. I do have this long generic cable I bought off eBay and it seems to charge fast. Maybe 1% per min.

Review: Choetech 10400mah QC 3.0 powerbank & 18w QC 3.0 wall charger-great combo!
I've been using these for about 2 weeks now so I wanted to share my experience.
They both arrived in nice minimal packaging. Cardboard boxes. The battery bank contained the powerbank, a nice thick USB micro cable and a USB a to USB type c cable. Both are thick and should last a long time. The powerbank is a nice metal black one, with chamfered edges.
The wall adapter comes solo as the wall adapter itself. I received the black one made of plastic.
Ports- the battery has both 2 charging ports, 1 the qc 3 port and 1 regular 1amp port. Then there's 2 recharging ports, 1 microusb and 1 lightning port. I've got an iPad so if you have a lightning cable it'll actually take both the Lightning port and the qc micro USB port to recharge, speeding up the recharging process.
The wall adapter has a single USB A port, which is actually reversible so it'll take the USB end both ways. A nice touch.
Ok testing this I used both a G5 and I used the wall adapter to recharge the battery, since the battery is qc compatible for charging and recharging. The wall adapter is just as good as the oem wall adapter in charging the G5. Both chargers took about an hour to charge from a dead phone. Impressed.
Then I used the powerbank to charge the G5 using the qc3 port and included type c cable. Again it was charging the same rate, finishing at about an hour. Compared to a qc2 charger I'd say there's about a 10-15% difference due to the faster charging up to about 60-70% before trickle charging.
So for the powerbank recharging it with a normal non-qc took around 6-6.5 hours. So using the qc wall adapter it charged noticeably faster, at just over 4 hours. Then on top of that if you use both the qc charger plus a lightning cable it cuts about an hour off that. Very good results for a 10400 capacity. Was able to get over 3 charges on the G5 with room to spare. The battery has 4 lights that are blue, with the first one turning green when utilizing qc for both charging and recharging.
It's a great combo. I used the bank to charge the G5 and the extra port to charge Bluetooth headphones when needed. I like both products. Any questions let me know. Thanks!

USB-PD 25W PPS Charger ?

With my S10+ and S9 before it, I had several multi-port USB chargers where one support QC 2.0 or better for fast charging. Other than the OEM charger, I haven't seen any other chargers explicitly support the 9V/2.77A USB-PD 3.0 PPS standard the Note 20 Ultra uses. I have seen some USB-PD 45W chargers that say in the footnites that they do not support the 25W standard so this makes me wary of others. Grateful for any experiences others have had.
Even I am looking for an answer to this. Anybody found anything?
There's a few on Amazon I've ordered, I will update when I try them out
I got a car charger that actually does pps. And also a battery tank as well. Both charge the phone at 25watts (super fast charging).
You guys only looking for wall chargers?
I'm interested more in a power bank if possible
