i got a oneplus and am wondering if its okay to use a 3rd party charger. i got the anker 40w 5 port charger and would like to know if that charger would be safe to use with the oneplus one. or should i stick with using the original charger? thanks
You can use any charger. But if the output is any less than 2.1Ah you'll charge quite slowly. You also need to use the original cable or a cable with a 24AWG or better rating.

Woah, good to know... I use the OEM charger/cable for the main, overnight charges.
Otherwise the other ones I have kicking around are:
3ft and 10ft - USB 2.0 A Male to Micro 5pin Male 28/24AWG Cable w/ Ferrite Core (Gold Plated)
6ft - USB 2.0 A Male to Micro 5pin Male Premium (Gold Plated) - not as heavy gauge as the above
So if I use my the cables mentioned above is it an issue? Or would I just expect slow charging? I use those for PC connectivity and charging at work.
Anything less than 24AWG will result in at least slow charging, and in some cases it won't charge fully.

I just use my old HTC charger/cable and it charges fine

At the same speed as with the OEM charger? It's impossible.

I didn't say at the same speed, just that it charges fine
It went from zero to full in about 2 hours from memory the other day, maybe a bit longer I can't remember
Gonna buy the kopi cable recommended in the other thread. The OEM cable is too short for my use. I do have this long generic cable I bought off eBay and it seems to charge fast. Maybe 1% per min.

Hello, ive bought these on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-CAR-CHARGER.../180497049900?pt=Other_MP3_Player_Accessories
http://cgi.ebay.com/Micro-USB-Data-...ARE-BB-Storm-/170525850383?pt=PDA_Accessories
Trying to use them to charge my phone in my car, but no go. When i connect the cable it asks me if i want to connect to kies, mass storage etc. I just press the back button, and phones tells me its charging, when in fact, its not, battery is actualy draining, and it gives me some weird msg about sd card. (In norwegian)
Any way to resolve this, or do i have to buy an original samsung charger?
did you try the USB cable on your computer?
does it charge when you plug it into the computer using the USB cable you got off ebay?
possibly the car charger is bad, if the USB cable works on your computer
I havent yet, i will do so and report back
The cable does not charge in the pc, and i can not mount my sd card on my pc with the cable, so, i guess its the cable then
Maybe this will do the trick: http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-Sync-Charge...895319?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item20b30c83d7
They say its for samsung i9000
Also! have you made sure the charger supplys the right amps, if you get one even with the right voltage if not the right amps you will still get battery drain! I had this issue when the gf's blackberry charger got swapped with my hero charger by accident, took me ages to realise why the battery was still draining when using co pilot on long car journeys!!
get this one instead
2000 mAh (2A) charger

Get the HTC C200 charger.
I paid a lot for this phone so paying 15 euros dollars for a car charger makes sense
paying more for something that comes from the same manufacturing center (China) will not make it any better.
Thanks for all the good tips. Ill check those out

I've used cheap ass car chargers and all they do is get hot and aren't very efficient. Have a HTC mini usb charger and it stays cool while charging, which means it isn't wasting any power...so to me...its worth paying extra
My battery charger's pins are not in proper place.I mean they are bent down.so I don't think it has much longer life =( where can I buy an original charger?? Online I mean

basicly any charger that gives out 5v with atleast ~500mA is good for you, there are some cheap ones with a miniusb jack at the end, you can get an adapter for pennys that will transform miniusb into microusb. But a samsung charger is a cheap and durable option, tho you can look for an original LG one or HTC one that has a detachable data cable via a standard USB jack. I whould try to find one at any of your local phone retailers, pc shops.

You are lost buddy. The original LG charger of my O1 has an output of 5.1V and 0.7A. You need a higher voltage for a charge the the one of the battery. Id atach a picture of it but some ppl refuse to fix the camera on ICS

Hello,
I have a Moto G 16Gb version from amazon.fr. Now I have a problem with charging the device. There was a charger from motorola in the package (a White one) that works without any problem.
Here at home I have another micro usb charger from my Samsung Galaxy S3 / A tablet / chinese phone / and from a Raspberry pi. All these chargers don't work on the Moto G... Is there any difference? I thought that Micro USB was a Standard worldwide ?
Think I found something. The chargers that doesn't work are chargers with an output of 1000mA. Then I took a charger (with the same USB cable) with an output of 500mA and it works. So all chargers with 1000mA are worthless with this phone I think.
I use a charger with 1000 mA and it works...
Support says it's best to use a branded charger as the charger needs to fulfill certain specifications to be able to work. But you used a Samsung charger anyway - maybe it's an issue with the phone?

The higher rating has no bearing on the charge delivered, the device will charge at an appropriate rate.
True, tried my car charger (2A) and it worked.
But it doesn't work with my Raspberry Pi charger, Jiayu charger, ...
So I have to buy a different brand of charger I think. But it remains strange. So, If I am by a friend, and I want to charge my phone and he has a different brand of charger ...

Correct ! My opinion that a 1000mA doesn't work is not true. But it can be that brand X works and brand Y doens't work. That's my conclusion so far
iSmart Charging Port: Compatibility maximized.
Not all charging ports are created equal. Standard ports only communicate effectively with particular devices, like Apple OR Android, often limiting their recharge rate. But with iSmart technology, each port intelligently identifies your device to speak its unique charging language. So plug in any brand or model and enjoy compatibility that doesn't limit your charging speed

So do I need a special forked cable to combine the ampherage from both usb ports to get the 4.5A in the title? :silly:
This headline is totally misleading.
If you want an actual battery power bank that works a treat with the 6P check out the RAVPower 20100mAh that has a 3A USB-C port that does in fact fast charge the 6P.
Thread closed. You chose to ignore my PM Sir. I suggest you reply if you'd like this reopened.

With my S10+ and S9 before it, I had several multi-port USB chargers where one support QC 2.0 or better for fast charging. Other than the OEM charger, I haven't seen any other chargers explicitly support the 9V/2.77A USB-PD 3.0 PPS standard the Note 20 Ultra uses. I have seen some USB-PD 45W chargers that say in the footnites that they do not support the 25W standard so this makes me wary of others. Grateful for any experiences others have had.
Even I am looking for an answer to this. Anybody found anything?
There's a few on Amazon I've ordered, I will update when I try them out
I got a car charger that actually does pps. And also a battery tank as well. Both charge the phone at 25watts (super fast charging).
You guys only looking for wall chargers?
