Hi All
I m using nexus 5(Marshmallow v6.1). Well, i was trying to change my boot animation, I downloaded and installed a corrupted one. So, when i rebooted, the phone shows ANDROID like always, but after, a black screen appears and stays forever. I can access recovery, and the phone is rooted. No backup. I deleted the corrupted bootanimation.zip file under System\Media folder and rename it's original name (bootanimation.zip) through recovery mode TWRP. But stuck again in same place in boot animation after reboot and can't go inside. Could you please tell me anyone how to fix it because i don't want to reset or wipe the data it or install another ROM, unless necessary.
Thanks

Hello,
You can download and push the correct bootanimation via TWRP to system/media.

Hi there,
I succesfully restored my Nexus S OTA2.3.4 firmware to the original one.
Clockworkmod Recovery is also uninstalled, but I think the Recovery partition is empty now.
I thought /system/etc/install-recovery.sh is the file I had to run, but even with root access it doesn't install recovery...
Any idea where to get the stock i9023 recovery image that I can load on with fastboot?
Thanks!
Start your phone into fastboot mode, click on recovery. If you see a Android who looks like he's climbing out of a white cereal box, with a curved arrow, then everything is as it should be.
You should rename the file that will remove the clockworkmod everything you reboot. Forgot what is the name of the file.

Hi Everybody,
I unlocked a Samsung Nexus S 4g, managed to installed clockwork 3.0.2.4 and now when I reboot, it got stuck on the loading screen where it shows "google" and the and the padlock at the bottom. Please help me fix this.
This is my friend's phone. It seems that it does not recognize the sdcard.
Thank you for your help if you can provide any advice.

Have you ever taken the phone apart? I normally only see that when the NFC/"SIM" daughter board isn't connected. Also, can you boot into bootloader?

Boot into fastboot.
Download the recovery image again. Make sure it's the correct recovery for your NS model (don't use the NS4G recovery on the NS GSM). Flash it using fastboot.
Then go into recovery, do a full wipe and flash a ROM.
Idk why, but my friend had the same problem. He downloaded an older version of CWM recovery through ROM Manager, rebooted into recovery after and was able to install CWM 4.0.1.4 after. Idk if that will help but it worked for him

Fixed it!!!!
Thank you guys for all your help. I had to unrooted and make sure it loads completely and do the whole process of rooting it again with the newest Clockwork recovery for the ns4g.
It took me a good couple of hours and bring my friend home mad at me, but she will be happy today when I get back her phone.
I wanted to thanks all of you for your help. I'm new to this forum but I appreciate your prompt response. I guess I'm going to stick around more often.
Thanks again

When you unlock your Phone, everything is wiped.
After you install recovery, you have to start your Phone by holding the Vol Up and Power button.
Go to recovery - mount your SDCard, copy the ROM that you want to flash and flash it.
You are not stuck on the Google Bootscreen - there is no ROM to boot from.

Thanks alot, it really got me worry but I was able to mount sd card and complete the whole process, now it is running the latest MIUI port for it.
I had a similar issue only that when I would click to flash the zip for clockwork in bootloader it said "file does not exist" I had to run a cmd prompt on my comp to install the clockwork mod.

I have a problem when I reboot into recovery. The recovery that I am using on my HTC One S is TWRP. When I go into the bootloader and go to recovery, it will boot up to the HTC screen with red text on it. Then the phone will restart and boot normally. Then I would have to go to bootloader again and go into recovery and then it goes into TWRP. I don't know why I have to do this twice. I am not sure what I have done wrong and I can't find a way to fix this. Also I've been trying to flash CM10 and on the first boot, it stays on the animation for a long time. And one last thing. Root checker says I am rooted but when I use Apex Launcher and use a stock HTC widget, it says that it doesn't have root permissions. So can anyone help me with this? This is also my first time on XDA. Another problem. When I restore from a backup, it boots up fine. But then it stays on the lockscreen for couple of seconds and it restarts again. And when I rooted my phone by flashing SuperUser, It didn't say upgrading android. Was it suppose to?
Bump. I too have this problem with booting twice to get into recovery and can't find any answers. Thanks.
I have the exact same issue. I experienced it with both CWM and TWRP. Also when I reboot from recovery, the device seems to reboot twice, and it gets back to normal with a dialog asking if I want to send an error report to HTC. I was beginning to wonder what I have done wrong.

I would suggest downloading the newest twrp recovery IMG and flashing it with fastboot.. As far as flashing cm 10 make sure you flash the boot.IMG through fastboot before you flash the ROM..and wipe both caches after installation.. If you get stuck at boot animation go back to recovery and wipe both caches again...are you guys all using the all in one tool... Or flashimggui..?

Put the SD card into a card reader, then put that into your computer and delete the file, then boot into hboot then into recovery.
OR during the boot loop get into adb on your computer and type "adb reboot recovery" I would actually try this first.
I made a custom boot animation from a program I downloaded and I put it in data/local and set the permissions correctly and I rebooted my phone and after the samsung logo pops up it is just a black screen and after about 5 seconds the navigation lights light up and they stay on, and I can click on the black screen and my volume is blasted and you can hear that the phone is on, just continues with the black screen. So I can't go into root explorer and change the boot animation and I don't know what to do I can plug it in my computer and the storage comes up and I can also boot into recovery mode but I'm not sure how to get it to work again. I already tried re-installing the rom I have on it again to like refresh it so it would come back but its still black & also my USB debugging isn't on so I can't use a root explorer on my computer to change it while my phone is plugged in
Hope someone can help please!
did u make a backup? no.
from recovery delete the file.
or perform a factory reset
No I didn't make a backup I wasn't expecting it mess my phone up but, how do you delete it from recovery? I have CWM recovery v6.0.4.8

There's always Odin. Chalk it up to a learning experience. You always make a backup if you're messing with system changes.

it normally shouldnt have
im on twrp not sure about cwm but should be similar iirc
from main screen goto mount>check data
go back to main screen>advanced>file manager and navigate to data and find the file, select it then delete it
Thanks guys I fixed it! I went into recovery mode and click sideload and plugged it into my computer and went to SDK and then into adb and sideloaded a .zip file that removes the custom boot animation for data/local and then it went to default boot animation and loaded up!
