Maybe just a reporting issue ... e.g. overflow for the datatype used to show the file size?!
Better ask in the 8.9" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.
There are many exerienced users having the same device ... and hopefully answering your question.

im using the kindle fire hd 8.9 (jem) and is now stuck at the kindle fire logo and doesnt show up on the computer at all, i tried booting into twrp and doesnt do anything.
using:
kfhd8-freedom-boot-8.4.6.img
kfhd8-twrp-2.7.0.0-recovery.img
kfhd8-u-boot-prod-8.1.4.bin
