Maybe just a reporting issue ... e.g. overflow for the datatype used to show the file size?!
Better ask in the 8.9" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.
There are many exerienced users having the same device ... and hopefully answering your question.

Happy new year !

Hi there!!
I found a guide to return your device to stock. It may be all you can try.
> Amazon 7" Kindle Fire HD, 8.9" Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Fire 2 > 7" Kindle Fire HD Android Development > KFHD System.img Restore Tool- Updated links 5/15/14
Hopefully that can get you up and running!! ?

The program did not work because the kindle does not connect long enough for fastboot to recognize. if i can force the kindle to stay connected longer then this will work
Here's a thread I just found with same issue.
> Amazon 7" Kindle Fire HD, 8.9" Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Fire 2 > 8.9" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [HELP] KFHD 8.9 Red Screen
There's a couple suggestions there. If nothing works, post in that thread instead of starting a new one.
Hopefully it gets worked out! ?
I was wondering if anyone has rooted the new Fire OS4.5.1. Have a Kindle Fire 7 HDX that just received the new OS update to Fire 4.5.1 and I need to root it. I have looked all over the internet but cannot find any help on this new OS version. Can anyone here help me?
Hi,
You can review this thread on your device about downgrade possibilities.... You can join the discussion here as well.... But there seems to be no root solutions for your version now.

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. I think it'd be best to ask here:
Amazon 7" Kindle Fire HD, 8.9" Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Fire 2
But when you create your new thread you'll need to provide much more information than you have here, make sure you say what steps lead to get your tablet to this point.
