SDCard Missing when using Adopted Storage - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've had this problem since I bought my 8GB osprey. Long story short, if you format the card as Adopted, it will work flawlessly for some weeks and then a notification saying "SDCard missing" will appear, and all the apps installed on it will vanish. It will only work again if you format it again, losing everything.
I've figured out that formatting it as Portable will work great, but creating a second partition and using on Link2SD or similiar won't. I've tried using EXT2, EXT3, EXT4 and F2FS on the second partition, and they won't even mount, neither through the app nor manually using the mount command.
This is really pissing me off, since I can install only 5-6 apps on the internal memory.

It looks like this is a major Moto G 2015 hardware flaw, since I've seen a lot of people with this problem and it has happened on every ROM i've tried (and I change ROMs frequently).

[Q] Random reboot debugging help needed

I've been running CM dailies for a while. A few weeks ago, i started getting tons of random reboots. I grabbed quite a few debugs, and if i'm reading it right, it seems like i have some memory errors that cause the reboots to happen. I tried a few formats and things, nothing seemed to help. I finally went back to stock, and have had no reboots for over a week.
So the questions are:
1) is there anything i can do to avoid the problem?
2) at boot, it says the kernel has option errors=panic. Can i easily turn that off w/o a recompile? Is that a good idea?

Did you ever get this sorted? I came across your post while going through essentially the same process.
I was fine on Slim Bean 4.4.2 build 3 with marmite 8.3-bigmem. Moved to Slim build 4.2 and turned on encryption, and had a couple reboots and a freeze with the capacitive buttons lit. Updated to build 5 and had two more solid freezes. Ditched encryption and moved to CM 10.1 RC2 and started getting frequent reboots, to the point where it'd go through 3 or 4 in a 15 minute period if I wasn't touching it. Started learning more and pulled last_kmsg on a couple, and found essentially the same thing: I/O errors on mmcblk0 right after it wakes.

Back to stock 4.1.1 and it's been running perfectly since. Looking for any ideas before I go wandering through that entire process again in an effort to narrow it down.
I never really figured it out. I gave up on CM10.1 and went to stock. I didn't get any more reboots after that, but was getting some app crashes.
Went to Slim bean build 4 & 5 a few weeks ago and that's been running fine.
I'm really liking slim, so i'm just going to stick with it.... until i get antsy and try CM again.

Rooted OPO reboot issue

I am not sure what happened but since I unlock the boot loader and rooted my phone, its randomly rebooting, something 2-3 times a day.
Is there any app or way to track what is causing the reboot? or is there any app which keep tracking the reboot and crate a dump before a reboot?

Need to see the most bottom. Usually if there's nothing wrong/no particular hardware problem it will say No errors detected on the bottom. If there were errors it would state them. Also it tells when it reboots, can you paste it in http://pastebin.com/ please?

Always look at the last few lines of code from your last_kmsg to debug your issues.
It is due to the kernel/ROM combination you have. I am on AK and I have seen this on the release of ak045.
Try flashing a new kernel/custom kernel if you're just on stock - or reflash CM11S (if you are on stock)
Yes I am on stock, I flashed another kernel I remember, but battery was crappy so I reflash the stock kernel, I think thats where it screwed up maybe.

Try flashing the latest Franco kernel for CM11S. AK requires boot.img from your ROM prior to installing so that requires you to reflash CM11S.
Also if you can, wipe cache/dalvik after installing, possibly clearing bad app compiles the next time you boot.
You said AK required for the boot.img.

It is required for the AnyKernel format ak uses in his kernel.
If you go the AK path:
Flash CM11S latest update again (to flash the latest boot.img for AK's AnyKernel)
Flash AK
Flash UKM (If you plan to use Synapse to tweak [RECOMMENDED!])
Install Synapse (If you plan to tweak the kernel)
If you go the Franco path:
Flash latest Franco kernel
Download FKU Updater (Paid/Free, just needed to update the kernel directly on your phone easily)

You can't just flash any boot.img and it would be dangerous to find one/extract one yourself - if you do it wrong. Easiest is to reflash CM11S zip.

I just realized.
it soft brick the phone and then I had to reflash the zip from recovery to get the phone boot it again.
the latest for OPO is r22 compare to FKU free suggest to update to r64

Latest is r22 for OPO. Only supported version is Franco Kernel Updater (paid) for opo.

Yeah Franco free is not supported. But it's a cheap app and a lot of people recommend getting to support the developer

Not supported. Carefully read before you do things man, if that app actually flashed the kernel. it could have bricked your phone for flashing a kernel not for your phone.
Either buy the app as what nicholaschum said, or stay up-to-date to the Franco thread and update the kernel manually.
changing kernel back to Franco did not help.

Xfinity Home Touchscreen to Android OS?

Hello everyone, I got my hands on a xfinity home touch screen, if you go on Google Images it should be the first one and I was thinking if there would be any way that I could dual boot it so I could use Android OS. Thanks.
It does run Android, the only issue is Xfinity has it locked down like Fort Knox. I talked to a tech on the phone who spoke english, went to school for computers, and worked in the Philadelphia office.

Nah the system was trash so I sent it back finally
I have a TCA300COM TCA300 made by technicolor . I have serial console on it. UBOOT looks for and can find a usb drive with a file called boot.img.usb.prod_signed . I have yet to get uboot to stop or get to cli via uboot.

Thanks for getting the picts up! The serial (uart) port I connected to is on your first image. the 2 rows of 6 solder / test points to the left of the power connector. Serial is on the upper row of points, 3 and 4 from the left ... or right for that matter. Labeled TP22 and TP23. 23 is the Board ts 24 is Board rx. If you hold the little black switch down above and to the right of the usb port , uboot reports "Fastboot normal" during boot up . When you get booted up and hit enter it gives a Localhost login prompt. Only login I have found is root, have tried multiple generic passwords ..... no success yet.

update: the little black switch needs to be pressed , you can stop u-boot but requires a security code.

Random hard reboots

Hi guys,
I am experiencing random reboots on one of my one plus one devices.
Long story short:
reboots seem to started happening after switching to a certain carrier (Swisscom)
one of my OPOs is fine, even with the Swisscom sim card, whereas the other is affected by reboots
reboots happen even when the phone is sitting on its own, I could not identify a specific use case that triggers them
reboots happened both on stock rom and on resurrection remix (ResurrectionRemix-M-v5.7.4-20161117-bacon)
reboots seem to happen only when connected to the carrier (not in airplane mode i.e. or wifi only)

Hi,
yes, tried several times.
Also, let me add the fact that this OPO has a couple of years of perfect service, so I would exclude HW problems.
