The stock launcher of OOS is not that much good, the default icons are too big and when DPI is 400, the shelf looks like a bloat.
The trebuchet launcher has lots of built-in options too.
Is there any idea to port the latest trebuchet launcher to OOS 3.2.8?
You can try this app available from the Play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kaneoriley.cyanogenport.launcher3

I tried this but it doesn't have all features as that of trebuchet.
Anyway, thank you so much.

I just got the Nexus S. Before installing CM 7 i tried out the stock launcher with a live wallpaper running. I was surprised at how smooth it was and that it had a very nice way of scrolling through the app drawer. After installing CM7 and launcher pro plus i noticed that opening the app drawer wasn't as smooth with a live wallpaper running and it didn't have the nice way of scrolling. Launcher pro has many more features but the stock did have that smoothness. Is there anyway to get this on launcher pro?
You could try playing with the settings and see if you can normalize it.
There are other alternatives to launchers if you like.
ADW Launcher EX (Paid), ADW Launcher (Free), GO Launcher EX, and more.

not sure what you mean by normailzing. also i would like to use launcher pro only. thanks!
Launcher pro is almost always smoother than stock launcher. But with live wallpaper I know what you mean with the choppy app drawer. Only solution is use static wallpaper instead.
damn that sucks..thanks anyways
The only launcher where the app drawer stays smooth with a live wallpaper selected is the stock launcher, all the other ones get choppy.

Here is a thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933517 it's a zip that removes adw and add stock launcher
Stock launcher is the only one that can use hardware acceleration therefore it will always be faster/smoother than any 3rd party launcher.
with the exception of UD Launcher which was used in nscollab for only two releases. Loved it because it was just as smooth and basically the same as the stock launcher but gave you more home-screens and a 5 button dock option and saved a lot of battery even!!!
But then again I guess it is based directly on the stock launcher - at least that'd be my guess.

yes it does, only on the nexus s so far with gingerbread. other phones it is powered by the CPU like normal. i guess google wanted to take advantage of the nexus s powerful hardware. just wish they did it for the rest of the phone, like the web browser, etc.
Yes that's true. Stock Launcher is smoother than ADW, ADW EX and LauncherPro.
I realized that a few weeks ago.
How do i enable the stock launcher? I downloaded Gingerbread Launcher from the market? is that the same thing?
My gf currently has the skyrocket from [email protected] and just updated to ics. I have the epic touch 4g and I go to settings, all, then clear defaults on two launcher to get the pure ics launcher. However I have noticed that the skyrocket does not have the plain launcher. Only tw launcher. Is there .a yto enable ics launcher without downloading a launcher. I thought Google required all phones on ics to have the default launcher as well.

You can also try Nova launcher
Yeah only he TW trash. Flash CM9. It doesn't have TW. It cones with trebuchet and is the spitting image of the default ics launcher complete with the persistent search bar. But if you don't want to go through the ROM flashing process then apex or nova launcher is for you. Both are virtually the same and amazing. Some have different options but both great. I go with nova prime for the ability to folder some apps in the app drawer which was always something I had been looking for. I'd suggest you and her play around with the available launchers to see which suits best.

Hey guys,
I'm currently using the Google Now Launcher, I really used to love the big & clear icons.
Lately I gave Nova Launcher a try and I really like it - you can add more icons to your homescreen,
the icons are smaller and customizable.
I think I'll switch to Nova.
What's your launcher of choice?
Nova no doubt it.

haha, why no doubt? google now launcher is pretty good. very stable as well.
don't you think?
Nova is much more customizable and it allows you to disable animations. It feels faster than Google Launcher, but Google Launcher falls in with a close second place to me.
I run 100% stock these days, don't even unlock the bootloader. Android in it's current state doesn't need anything else IMO
Huawei home ( no apk drawer ) - fast rock solid.
Apus launcher is replacement is fine too.
Try inspire i started using it with nexus 5 kii kat. It still keeps some of the originality the google launcher has including the google now page !!!
Omni launcher
Nova ftw!
Stock.
I'm using aviate and quite like the change.
Nova launcher for me. Swipe gestures are something I've gotten too used to now to go back to GEL.

Google Now Launcher with XGELS.
The developer of XGELS is doing a really great job at implementing popular features from other launchers such as Nova.
Looking forward to seeing what future updates bring!

Hey guys, I am still on EUI Laucher, but i wana change. Have you tryed Google PIXEL Launcher, there is no official support, but you can downloand apk. ANy tips od experinece?
I am using stock launcher I do not see anything bad with it, personally I do not like the app drawer , however before using stock launcher, I used to use next 3d lsuncher, and google now launcher which was really smooth, I did like it.
The stock launcher is fine but I use Go Launcher mainly to eliminate the live button.
I have tried Pixel Launcher and its nice.
But my preferred Launcher is NOVA because it have many useful customisation and drawer tab support.

Google Pixel launcher
I have been using SquareHome forever now. Before that Lightning Launcher. Both very customisable, SquareHome is Windows 10 style with tiles rather than icons.
I like that a lot - Notifications on the tile, live tiles, great overview, easy on resources.
I am on 21S and currently using the Pixel launcher. I'd prefer to use Nova launcher because it can mimic Pixel launcher and has the added advantage of nougat-like long press functions and you can use a Pixel icon pack to get all round icons. But I find that Nova launcher has issues with the multitasking selection cards on this phone - it won't show a card for the homescreen like it does on other launchers, so you can't close the last open app/page. Anyone else found this? It also has weird scaling compared to other launchers - at 100% all the icons are much too small. To get them at what I'd consider a normal size you need to set them at about 125-130%.

In the ROM section.
Trebuchet or CM standard
I got tons of Android devices and I'd go crazy if each and every one was different. So I not only try to use a stock Cynogenmod launcher but also make sure that applications are in the same place across devices.
I'm even using Trebuchet on my Note 3, which uses a hybrid Note 3/Note 7 TouchWiz ROM somebody put together to offer Marshmallow features on the Note 3, which has long since been abandoned by Samsung.
Not only is Trebuchet available on all devices, it also has the minimal amount of "Google" in it.
I value my privacy far more than Google's "added value". So no "Google now", no Google search on the phone, nano GAPPS. Essentially I just want the Play Store, nothing else from Google.
Too bad they are not satisfied with that...
The best is nova launcher, fast and very recomendable

I just rooted and installed magisk. I love everything about the stock launcher except the icons. I love the icon pack on the play store called MaterialOS, so is there a mod to apply that pack to the stock pixel launcher? I saw some modded pixel launchers in magisk but they are not the same as the pixel 3 launcher. I've searched for info on here but haven't found a solution. Thanks for any help!
Just install lawnchair or nova launcher. they have the exact same features as the pixel launcher (and much more). Plus, they have proper icon support. No magisk modules needed.
Lol so I guess that's a no...

The recents menu is set by the OS, not the launcher. If you have pie, you will have pie recents.
