Broken Wifi Antenna - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

My Google Pixel's (regular) WiFi antenna has broken and lost most of its ability to scan for WiFi signals. Are there any ways I could fix this? I've visited a couple of phone-repairing stores but they won't take it because the model's to new.
Any suggestions will be appreciated!

You may find some help here.

How did it "break" ? Warranty coverage?

Have you tried to reset the network settings? If that doesn't work, I would backup and do a factory reset. If that still didn't work, I'd flash the factory images. (This is my process if I run into major problems with any phone) If it didn't work after all that I would talk to google support about a RMA.

How did you know the WiFi antenna is broken? Also, why would you void your warranty and pay to have someone fix it instead of having Google warranty it?

Hotspot not working. (Xt1033) (Factory Reset with Lolipop 5.0.2)

Having compared it with a friend's phone (exact same specs), the issue seems to be that when devices connect to my phone's hotspot, the phone doesn't seem to assign them an IP. Consequently, despite being connected to the phone's wifi, these devices cannot access the internet.
After observing this, I factory reset my non-rooted phone. However, the problem persists.
How to I rectify this? Should I just go to the service center or is there a solution that doesn't involve me rooting or invalidating the phone's warranty in any way?
Hi.
I had the same problem, and I found a wrong configuration on APN, it was selected GPRS, and I justo change it to web and problem solved.
Hope could be same easy to you.

[Completed] Wifi controler disabled on Note-3 T-Mobile

I have a Galaxy Note 3 on T-Mobile. I have it rooted usig CF-AutoRoot with smn900t and Odin Mod.
my phone has been running fine (besides a busted GPS that I can't fix for some reason) until last week. I was playing Minions on my home network when the Wifi shut off suddenly. I thought nothing of it, but then I realized after hitting the Wifi button it wasn't turning on. I went to the setting menu and swiped the toggle to the right. It would remain grey and still say "off". After approx. 120 seconds, it just slides back over into the original "off" position. I also cannot utilize my systems Hotspot function.
I'd like to know if there is an option that doesn't require my to do a full system reset. I have data that I can't recover or back up and restore without root access. If I have to restore, I will not root my phone. it was nearly impossible for me to do, and it still doesn't give me full root access.
I have no idea what could have disabled my wifi and my phone was stationary for the most part when the issue happened. if you need any additional info, please let me know.
bump
Update: I got fed up with not being able to use my WiFi and did a factory reset. Factory reset has not restored my WiFi capabilities.
Outside of getting a new phone, anyone have any idea on how to get my WiFi capabilities back, or at least an alternative to downloading my apps and settings that doesn't require using my already capped cell data?

Hmm ... could also be a hardware issue.
If you are still on warranty, try to flash back an official firmware and claim warranty.
If not ...
Best to ask in the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.
There you should get best and quick help and advices of users with the same device like you.
Good luck !

I'm almost certain it is a hardware issue. I reset my phone back to stock and no bueno. Plus, my phone is long over its warranty date and the Knox Counter was tripped. I can't see how the hardware would just fail just sitting there, but its technology.

loosing reception/signal on my s8+

Somehow my s8+ loosing reception all the suddenly.
phone has never been dropped.
i am loosing cellular signal all the time. no mattere where i am.
first i thought it was software problem, an did all the right things. safe mode, checking third party apps,
hard reset, an all that.
then i downgraded the room back oreo to see if it helped, no luck ;(
changing sim did NOT help either.
any suggestions? i have no warranty left on the phone as it a bit over 2 years old.
Mine is doing the same thing, even with wifi. It started after the most recent update. I have been googling, but haven't found much so I assumed that it was localized to me. I have never had connectivity issues with this phone before.
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I am having the exact same issue, it all happened after I updated to android 9, even if you downgrade back to 8 it doesn't fix the issue, has anyone managed to find a solution ? Like henbone11 mentioned suggested sites with fixes from Google do not work. Thanks in advance
I was thinking bad modem software? Is it possible to get a older modemsoftware onto the phone with PIE installed?
Same problem here. Have not done any mods, always accepted the official updates.
Cant make or receive calls. (sometimes can make one or two calls right after restart). I do get text message notifications about missed calls. GSM data not working (sometimes seems to work for a bit but not enough to load a page or use maps.
WiFi and Bluetooth still work for me. so I'm using the s8 with another older phone for WiFi hotspot and calling.
Have done full factory reset, uninstalled all apps aso. Nothing brings it back - phone repair shops say they haven't heard s8 having these problems.
I have the same issue.
One day after I restarted my phone, it suddenly said no network connection. I did factory reset too, didnt fix it. Changed sim cards, still error.
I downloaded a widget that was supposed to turn the cell radio on and off. Cant turn the cell radio on either

Hi,
This issue is quite easy to fix. As modem performance (connectivity) is linked to model configuration. Another word for this is CSC.
It is fine to change your CSC. Download a benchmark tool to monitor your connectivity and record values and do not feel afraid to update / change your CSC.
It can take a while to find the right one for you, not it will be worth it. Don't worry.
Note: CSC changer can be easily found in XDA.
Note: a restart may be required to take the configuration into account.
Cheers

Hi.. i want to do your solution.
What benchmark tool to use? And is there a tutorial for the process?
Thank you so much for the idea.
I moved to another country and used a local sim card, worked for a couple of days and then it's suddenly no network.
IMEi still ok.
Phone still detects my number.
I've tried
resetting network setting
factory reset
Flashing latest unbranded firmware via Odin
Still no luck.
The mobile radio switch won't turn on.
Ping test fails.
Sometimes I wonder if this is a hardware issue.

Why would this work? Phone worked normally before. Same country/same provider. Sometimes still connects to data network for a minute and then drops all cellular connection again.
Why would changing CSC work.
Asking because changing CSC is not easy for me and I don't see why would I need to change it if it worked perfectly before. NFC payments worked(still work) , data/voice calls worked perfectly for 2 years. Then suddenly didn't.

Asus4max/SamsungA10s loosing data connection&no updates

Hi all,
I'm facing the problem with both phones (Asus 4 Max/ZC554KL and Samsung A10s/A107F). The signal is full, shows 4G, even the arrows, BTSs all around (almost the city centre) but the data connection keeps disconnecting. As long as there's a data transfer (downloads, online radio), it works, once it stops, the connection dies too, still showing 4G/data transfer arrows though. Switching the data off/on doesn't help, the flight mode on/off has to be used to restore the connection. Doing this everytime you touch the phone is kinda....tiring, not mentioning you're getting no messages/notifications till you do it. The sim cards are both quite new (t-mobile cz and kaktus (local lowcost t-m brand)), so it shouldn't be the problem, I was thinking about the problem with contacts to the antennas in back covers as both phones were open few times (was changing the charging connectors due to the slight water damage) but wasn't able to find out if the 4G/GSM antennas are in the cover in case of these phones. The carriers keep saying all is fine from the network part. Both phones were bought new in Asia, being used in CZ now but have all local LTE bands. Asus performs a tiny bit better (in terms of reception) so I decided to dig into the software options. The factory reset didn't help and I realised the phone is still in its original state from the time I bought it (03/19) and offered me zero updates. Even now it doesn't. Tried to download it manually from the Asus website but it always says "error" during the installation and stops it. So I decided to find another way to get it in. Don't want to risk Chinese one-click apps, so I chose Magisk which should allow manual updates with no risk. The collateral problem arose, as the volume keys do not work, so I tried to put it into the recovery mode through ADB. My old computer sadly only has Windows Vista OS and keeps telling me errors whenever I try to perform any ADB commands. Therefore I'm asking you here for help with the following questions:
1. is there any software allowing to put ZC554KL into the recovery mode through Windows Vista?
2. if not, any other way to push any actual ROM version into it? (There's still 7.1.1 from the factory).
3. if not, any other way to get there Magisk?
4. if not, any safe rooting app, not requiring the recovery mode? (Well, I don't need to get controlled by the Chinese comrades)
5. overall, any other possibilities to solve this data problem/keep the data connection working? (I could leave the online radio on (silently) but the battery gets drained quickly and I won't have unlimited data forever )
6. anyone knows where the LTE/WiFi antennas are in these two phones? As Asus has better 4G but significantly worse WiFi reception.
I've heard you're the #1 experts here, so hopefully we'll be able to solve this. If there's any information missing in the problem description, I'm ready to provide it.
Thanks a lot for any help

Problems with IN2015 on T-mobile. Flash to T-Mobile OEM ROM ?

I have both a IN2015(Unlocked) and an IN2017(Tmo), the IN2015 constantly drops calls, Wifi Calling does not work (despite icon), has a flakier connection, and worse data speeds than my IN2017 at the exact same place at the same time.
The no wifi calling / dropped calls are the biggest concern, and Im wondering if flashing to the OEM T-mobile ROM may fix it?
Is that even possible?
I wouldn't reflash it unless absolutely necessary.
Try a network reset.
Clear the system cache if you have that option.
Are all the configuration settings correct? Sorry I'm be no means an expert at that... be they need to be correct. Access Point Settings and there are more hidden ones.
A factory reset if any major firmware updates were done.
Lol, I have twins too except my phones are the Note 10+ and the carrier is AT&T. Operation of both variants is near identical but I block all of AT&T's bloatware.
They both use fast.t-mobile.com as the APN.
All other network settings are the same between the two.
You need to find the difference.
Is it a setting you missed, software, firmware or hardware issue? Is the signal strength the same on both phones?
Try a carrier reset for the effected phone.
Clear SIM toolkit data, reset network.
Replace Sim card, handle the new one like a stick of ram. They can be damage by ESD, if so the results are unpredictable.
Try setting related system apps back to factory load or updating them. Check the versions used on each phone.
The answer is likely starring at you.
Factory reset if that doesn't work and you give up on trying to find the root cause.
