So here we go I can say finally I managed to produce firs custom rom for our beloved HTC One S C2 (I called it this way cause that is how on gsmarena.net is presented). If we ever get a sub forum this is how I suggest it is called. It is not very special rom, but it is a start. cause I don't like bloatware on my phone, I've tried to remove as many unnecessary stuff as I could remember, and I could miss.
Since this is my very first rom I've build with kitchen (for public use at least), don't be to harsh on me. I will try to improve it, and remove even more sens components, cause I just prefer stock experience.
You will need android sdk on you computer (you may know it as adb shell)
REQUIREMENTS
Unlocked Bootloader and Root access
TWRP Recovery
INSTALLATION
1. Download the ROM, extract only boot.img where you have android-sdk installed installed in folder platform-tools
2. Make a backup of your apps with Titanium backup or other similar app (so that you can restore them after flashing my rom)
3. Boot into Recovery (with GooManager, or restart phone and hold volume down, when in fastboot choose recovery with volume down and press power button)
4. Make a BACKUP in recovery!
5. WIPE! Do a factory reset and System wipe
6. "install zip from sdcard"
7. "choose zip from sdcard"
8. Flash the ROM
9. Go back to the main menu of recovery, choos reboot, and then reboot to bootloader.
10. Flash kernel with Command prompt (go into direcotry where you have extracted boot.img) and run:
(step by step guide)
Short version:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
11. Wait until android boots up, it will take a few mintues (5-10), because it is deodexed, but only first boot takes longer after that it is normal.
What is working:
Since this is sense based rom all the functionality should work (calling, texting, mobile data, GPS, wifi, bluetooth, camera, etc)
POSSIBLE PROBLEMS:
- There might be some reports of some services stop executing, this is nothing to worry about, it would just be something that I have removed cause it is only sens based and drains battery, but it should impact with phone experience.
- Due to all HTC widgets removal, not all the lockscreen options are functional (like people).
FUTURE:
I hope I'll have time and the will to make this rom to look and feel almost as an AOSP based (that is with statusbar, lockscreen, dialer, settings, etc). But I am still learning so don't expect to much. If there is themer among you or modder, I would really apperaciate some help with this stuff. Together we can make this something ! I would also need some mirror if this rom will become popular.
WARRINING:
This rom is for HTC One S with S3 processor only!!!
Flashing any kind of custom rom voids your warranty, and it could brick your phone. I am not responsible if this happens to you. So you flash this software completely at your own risk!
That being said here is the download link.
BackToBasics_v1
BackToBasics_v2:
(you have to downloade both rar files in sam folder and then extract from .part1, it will extract flashable .zip)
PART 1
PART 2
BackToBasics_V3
If you are coming from lower version of this rom, just make backup, wipe cache, flash rom and you are good to go. No need to factory reset (data wipe) or system wipe in this case

Flashing from KitKat to Lollipop
This is a nice well written guide by @Purpeltendire Thank you @Purpeltendire Thank you for this great guide.
If you are new or upgrading and need more help I updated help and info on my website also at computerfreek.com
Steps to flash from KitKat to Lollipop - This assumes that you're currently using a rooted KitKat image already, and have used mofo to get root.
BACK UP ANY DATA YOU DO NOT WISH TO LOSE.
YOU ARE ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOST FILES OR DEVICE PROBLEMS.
Make sure you have a good hour or two set aside, at the minimum. It’s probably not a great idea to try this right before work or class.
Install mofo, ADB, and fastboot on your computer if you haven't already. On Windows, I like using this for ADB/fastboot.
Download the image of your choice.
Download 5.1_images.zip. Extract the files, and put them into the same directory as fastboot. Next, boot into your phone's bootloader (turn the phone on by holding power and volume down), and flash each file seperately using fastboot:[/FONT]
Code:
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase ddr
Now open mofo_gui.bat, and flash the system image you downloaded:
Code:
mofo flash Your_imagename_here.img
Once that finishes, you want to try to boot the phone. Select Boot to System from the bootloader and then go grab a snack - chances are, it will sit at the Motorola boot screen for some time. After about five minutes, press and hold power to turn the phone off.
Next, boot into the bootloader again and select Recovery. You will likely get a "Dead Android" screen with "No Command." To bypass this, hold power and tap volume up (if that method does not work after a few tries, hold volume up and press power).
Now that you're in recovery, you're wiping both data (factory reset) and cache. Wipe cache first - this may take a very long time (20-30 minutes), especially if you've never done it before. Wipe data/factory reset second. If you're feeling paranoid, wipe everything again.
From recovery, boot to the bootloader. From bootloader, boot to system. This first boot might take some time as well.
Assuming all went well, you should see a Lollipop setup screen within 10-15 minutes. Congratulations!
Remember that your device is now in “like new and improved” mode. You’ll need to restore your apps and settings from wherever you backed them up to, and you'll still need to get the APKs for Xposed and AdAway. Again, nobody else is responsible for any of your lost data.

This was stated in another thread. I don't know if you heard, but I'm holding on that there's still hope. Is there still a possibility to be able to make a rooted image? I'm really hoping that we'll be able to have root with lollipop, but at the same time, I don't want you to put in all this time and effort for nothing.

I am far from the skill level of any rom creator but every google guide I've found seems to indicate root (even temporary root) is required to do a system dump. Is temporary root possible on the lolipop update? If theres another way, please post a guide @computerfreek274 so one of the people who has updated is able to easily help us out and get the ball rolling.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you simply extract the system.img from the OTA zip using this method? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2497883

If you Google it there was a way to do it without root. I do not care if it is a system.img dump like that. If you can just copy the system folder to your sd card i do not think you will need root for that use es file man and send it my way that will be great.
Want to make sure so if you have root via MOFRO then you should wait and not install the OTA and wait for new System Image from the Freek!!!

Gotcha. Well unless someone has had luck with Kingroot (early reports said that it didn't work), I don't think that will be possible.
EDIT: Nevermind. It's totally possible. I'll try to track down someone who can get it to you.

ROM Ipioneer Slim 10c v0.1
A light, clean & faster rom!!!
Disclaimer:
/***
* Your warranty is now void (and I'm sure it was void before this process).
* I am not responsible for hard or soft bricked devices, boot loops, dead or corrupt sd cards, strange behavior or you getting a heart attack 'cuz your youtube app is not working properly.
* YOU and only YOU are choosing to make these modifications, do not blame on me.... I will just ignore you.
***/
iPioneer Slim 10c v0.1 is a light, clean and fast custom rom designed for the Lg G Pad X 8.0 (T-Mobile variant only) and it's aim is to become a replacement for the default system of this device.
iPioneer Slim 10c v0.1 it is light because it only takes 519.8Mb of disk space which is a big difference when you compare the 1.2Gb of a stock rom, it is clean because it only contains the essential apps to make it work properly and it is faster because the whole system have been 100% optimized.
iPioneer it have been designed with the User Freedom in mind, it only provides you with the basic OS so you can do what you need to do on top of that.
Features:
Based on stock (10c)
Rooted
Busyboxed
Init.d Support
Extremely debloated (very serious)
Deodexed
Zipaligned
Nova as default launcher
Installation instructions:
Download the rom to your desire location (link to download to the end of this post).
Boot into Twrp recovery and do a standard wipe (factory reset).
Install the downloaded rom .zip.
Reboot the device.
Be patient, is going to take more time than a regular stock rom to boot into the system, at first is going to be stuck at T-Mobile logo but after few seconds is going to enter into App Optimization mode and after that you will be able to setup your system.
Enjoy it.
First things to do after you install this rom:
Add your google account (if you didn't complete that step at the first setup).
Download your favorite app manager (Rom Toolbox, Titanium, etc.).
Freeze the application called App Updates in order to stop the system update beacon for OTA. I removed 3 core apps in order to stop OTAs but it seems to be very integrated with the system, there is no way I can remove it from the rom without breaking the system. This is the most practical way to my knowledge right now.
Optionals things to do after you install this rom:
You can uninstall Nova Launcher if you want as is not part of the system apps, but before you need to install your favorite launcher. If you don't install another launcher and remove Nova you will have a broken system and most likely you'll have to re-flash the rom.
On purpose bugs and missing options:
On purpose bugs are bugs that comes when you remove a functionality from the system but it can not be removed from a third party component, example: LG VPN app it has been removed but the options remains in the Settings of the device and when you tap that option you will provoke a crash event, the way to resolve this is to decode the third party component (very difficult) or reinstall the missing part (in this case the LG VPN app).
iPioneer Slim 0.1 it comes without some apps that can not be removed from the system setting options, this is like that because I believe that these apps are not necessary for all people, if someone need them they can be downloaded/replaced from the Play Store or I will provide a flashable file with these apps so you can install them.
On Purpose bugs (located at settings):
From the Share & Connect menu:
File Sharing that contains BLE and Android Beam doesn't work, package SmartShare it has been removed.
Media Server (DLNA) doesn't work, package SmartShare that also contains SmartShare.MediaServer it has been removed.
Lg Airdrive doesn't work, package LGAirDrive & LGAirDriveSettings were removed.
From More>VPN menu:
LG VPN doesn't work, package VpnClient_LG it has been removed. Basic VPN it works.
From Display menu:
Home screen doesn't work, packages LGHome, HomeSelector, LGHome_Theme_Optimus, com.lge.launcher3, com.lge.launcher2.theme.optimus were removed.
If you need these options to be available on your system just download these app on Play Store if they are available or just wait until I have ready the System Apps flashable zips.
Missing options (located at settings):
Smart Cleaning not present, package LGSpringCleaning it has been removed.
Cloud (cloud integration in settings) not present, package CloudHub (maybe dependant on SmartShare package) it has been removed, please also note that this cloud integration it was integrated on the stock File Manager, so... if you want a full integration of the Cloud service on settings maybe you will have to install the stock File Manager provided by LGFileManager package.
From Backup & reset menu:
LG Backup is not present, packages LGBackupLauncher and LGBackup were removed.
From About tablet menu:
Update Center and its content (App updates & System updates) is not present, packages com.lge.appbox.client (app updates), com.lge.updatecenter & LGUpdateCenter (main menu for updates) were removed.
If you need these options to be available on your system just download these app on Play Store if they are available or just wait until I have ready the System Apps flashable zips.Flashable zip with system apps:
Coming soon when I have a free time.
What to do if you get the OTA notification:
Freeze the app called App Updates with your favorite app manager.
With your favorite file manager go to /cache and delete the update.zip (the downloaded ota).
Tap on Restart & Install button on OTA pop-up, the pop-up it will start counting to 0 in order to restart but your device won't restart because there are 3 core apps removed from this rom plus 1 app that you just disabled (all these 4 app controls the OTA), the notification is just gonna disappear, push recent button and clear the ota pop-up window.
Bugs Report:
If you find a bug in this rom just notify me about that in this thread, please, just use the title as "Bug Report" so I can pay close attention to that, my time is very limited. Thank you.
Feature Request:
If you want a feature to be added into future revisions of this rom just notify me about that in this thread, please, just use the title as "Feature Request" so I can pay close attention to that, my time is very limited. Thank you.

How fast does it run compared to the stock rom?

How fast it can go is a subjective matter:
It will depend on hardware lifetime span (how you use it and how other people use this tablet).
It will depend how much apps and content you put in it (the more things you download the more slow android is gonna be, this is kind a Swap area).
I did not do a benchmark, when I declared that is faster than a stock rom is because that speed response enhacement it comes based on the Deodex and Zipalign process. It can be or maybe not noticeable to your eyes but based on deodex and zipalign process is for sure that is faster than an odex and not-zipaligned rom.
The best answer is that you need to try it on your own and see the difference.

Please only select the apps that you really need or you really think that should comes with the next revision of iPioneer Slim rom.
This will help me to build a better version with features that users needs.
C'mon guys... only 3 users have use the poll...
I need more data background in order to release a new version of the Slim line version (may be the last one).
All V521 users please contribute with this.
Right now I'm testing a new build that it seems to have success stoping ota download and notification & I have removed even more bloat background packages.
As of today I start the syncing process of CyanogenMod for our device, so all I ask is that V521 users vote in the poll so I can build and release what I think it would be the last Slim version (iPioneer Slim 0.2) based on users needs.
Once I start the developtment with CM I will not pay attentions to the Stock & Slim version until I finish with what is gonna become iPioneer CM 13.
Thank you for your attention guys.
BTW: sorry for my english, I try so hard to write all this in a good way. Arriba Mexico Papa!!!

The reason is that the xda app can't see the vote going on.
Personally, I will be excited to see a cm/aosp custom build, which will sure draw much more attention.

Another reason is not many users are interested enough in a slimmed stock rom. The benefits of a slimmed stock rom may include less system storage usage. But the free uped system storage is not accessible for users to use as data storage anyway. Speedwise, I wouldn't expect noticeable improvement from a slimmed stock rom. As a result, the benefits of a slimmed stock rom is not enough to draw users' attention or interest.
I am a flashholic but I actually not interested in slimmed stock at all because I already have root.
I personally advise you to not spend too much time on modified stock rom.
I appreciate your work and look forward to your future possible cm rom, which I will definitely try it out and will draw many g pad x users here. And don't forget there is a bounty for custom roms like cm.

You are right about working in a stock version. The reason why I'm doing this is because we all know that CM most of the time has bugs, bluetooh problems, camera issues, data conectivity troubles, etc...
Sooooo, if the version of CM I'm going to compile it results with many bugs there is gonna be the option to go back to stock slimed or stock bloated.
I can build a CM verion but Im not the kind of guy who inverts his time in CODE MODIFICATION, so hopefully the build it comes with no bugs at all or at least no major bugs.
The other alternative is that I can sync, compile and build and one more guys can do the bug fixes.

That would be great! I think if you took a poll most people would prefer a CM build to a slimmed down stock build.

Yeah, I know that. Wish me luck.
Right now I'm stuck trying to get the Blobs for this device and compiling the kernel so I can build the CM recovery, once I have the recovery done I can start compiling CM and start testing.
I'm trying to by pass the kernel (as is not need it right now to build the recovery) but for some reason the system is demanding an standard and working kernel... weird...
But honestly speaking is gonna take lot of time. So be patient guys.

Ik, is just a prebuilt because our device doesnt have a device tree or structure already, so making this at first is gonna help me to buil the cm zip.
Is not need it if a device tree already exist but not in this case, just see it like a pretesting of code for this device.
When I try to compile this recovery things are gonna break so you get info of what is missing, what you need, log, etc... So you fix everything you can in this step and then you build the cm.zip in a better way (less issues).

These are your device tree for twrp 4 b3 right?
Let me see if I can work with that, I was almost done building the cm.recovery and fixing some boot.img issues but if I can take your files that would save time.
Did you forked that device tree or u just build it from scratch?
If you forked them, from what device?
I was thinking on pulling the v500 just to figure out some sort of missing info I havent been able to catch from ramdisk.

i built it from scratch, id be careful looking too much at the v500, it's a snapdragon 600 SOC which is very old and is a quad core. the 615 in the g pad x is octacore and much newer. even the ramdisk is going to have big differences in how its handled.
During the last few months I have been testing several Nougat rom/kernel/modem/su combinations for the hlte N9005 international.
I created this thread to share my setup, hoping it will help others to save the many hours of research, trial, error and frustration I had before reaching the jackpot.
I have 3 hlte phones at my disposal, two myself and one my wife. All three are running trouble free.
By using my setup you will get:
Absolutely no freezes, reboots or FCs
Stable root and Safetynet checks ok
GPS fast and stable fix - average 5 seconds worst 20 seconds
Low battery drain (of course actual drain depends heavily on your apps and usage)
Everything works (AFAIK - you tell me what does not)
Keep in mind my main goal is to provide a stable setup. I will do my best to update this thread regularly, but it is very unlikely I will be using the very latest builds available, mainly because before I adopt a new build it must be thoroughly tested.
If you're interested head to the guide in Post #2
Why Resurrection Remix?
RR has, IMHO, the best combination of features and stability. The RR team has been around for a long time without the ups and downs of other roms. For the Note 3 we are in a very fortunate time, with an official build and many unofficial builds to choose from.
Since RR is based on LineageOS, it is available for most devices. It is very likely when we finally retire our Note 3 and move to another flagship, RR will be there for it.
Why Not Oreo?
Well, thread title says it all.
Credits and Thanks:
@vidwhal for the current RR build
@gj86 for Synergy kernel
@Jairus980 for Xenial kernel
@Hereiwas and @jcadduono for modems and bootloaders
@topjohnwu for Magisk
@stangri and @kantjer for Magisk unofficial daily beta builds
@Deic for the Safetynet fix Magisk module and @NovelliJack for finding the module
@MastahF and all other contributors that made the Open GApps project possible
Special thanks to @tarkzim for the RRN build used in initial setups.
and everyone else I forgot to mention.

Rock Stable Setup
Using Resurrection Remix
Revision 11 - 11-Mar-2018
Phase 1 - Prepare for install
Here I am assuming you have a Windows PC. If not you will need to use google search to adapt my instructions to your available OS/hardware. The PC is only required for this phase.
1 - Samsung USB Driver:
Make sure you have the Samsung USB driver installed in your Windows PC.
If not download and install the latest driver:
- SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.5.65.0.exe
2 - Odin:
If you do not have Odin, get it here, unpack to any folder and create a shortcut pointing to Odin3 v3.09.exe.
There are newer versions of Odin, but they may have issues with our Note 3. Odin v3.09 is the one to use.
3 - TWRP
New to TWRP? Read this guide: TWRP: the complete guide to using Recovery on Android.
If you do not already have it, install TWRP 3.2.1-0. Download it from https://dl.twrp.me/hlte. More info here.
If you no not have TWRP installed download the .tar file and flash with Odin.
If you have an older version download the .img file and use your current TWRP to flash the image into recovery partition.
4 - Update Bootloader and Modem:
You have to install latest Nordic Countries Bootloader and Modem. I have prepared a "tar.md5" with both.
And yes, modem is not country or region dependent. Rest assured Nordic will work no matter where you are.
Get it from here: N9005_Nordic_XXUGPQB1-Modem_XXSGBQD1-Bootloader.tar.md5
Updating bootloader and modem is a must!
If you don't you may get the "SIM Card not detected" error and GPS fix will be slow or not work at all.
There are many sure ways to flash modem and bootloader so that they "stick". What always works for me is:
- Restart into Recovery (TWRP)
- Select Reboot->Power off
- Turn on directly into download mode by holding Down Arrow+Home+Power at the same time
- Connect phone to PC
- Flash with Odin using the AP slot
Now you should check if update was successful. The best way is to install the app Phone INFO, run it and select the Firmware tab. The correct Bootloader and Baseband (modem) above should be displayed. There is a screenshot in first post.
If the update did not work repeat the steps carefully until it does. You may, as a last resort, after powering off remove the battery, wait for about 30 seconds, reinsert the battery and then turn on directly into download mode.
Thanks to @Hereiwas for the files I have used in previous setups. Check out in his thread Bootloader and Baseband for SM-N9005.
If you need more info on flashing modems and bootloaders also take a look at @jcadduono thread [Direct Download] Latest Bootloaders & Modems.
PHASE 2 - Download the necessary installation files
1 - Resurrection Remix Nougat rom - thanks @vidwhal:
Download from here: RR-N-v5.8.5-20180101-hlte-Official-vidwhal.zip.
Please note that I am not the rom builder or developer. All credits go to @vidwhal and the RR Team.
This is the rom thread: [ROM][HLTE][UNOFFICIAL][OMS]Resurrection Remix N.
Please note this build may not be the latest available. The goal here is to have a stable rom that you will be able to use as a daily driver with no issues for a long time. Only after a lot of testing a new build makes into my setup.
I modified the zip to remove Magisk. This will make it easier to use newer or beta Magisk builds if necessary in the future. Remember Safetynet is a cat and mouse game and changes happen fast.
Special thanks to @tarkzim, who produced the RR builds used in earlier setups. He did a fantastic job of producing a very stable build without a Note 3 device for tests. His builds led me to create this thread.
2 - Magisk v16.0 Official - thanks @topjohnwu):
Magisk Installer: Magisk-v16.0.zip
Magisk Manager: MagiskManager-v5.6.1.apk (optional - you might need it in the future)
Magisk Uninstaller: Magisk-uninstaller-20180222.zip (optional - you might need it in the future)
if you decide to use newer builds do it at your own risk. I strongly recommend to keep these.
3 - Gapps:
Open Gapps Pico: open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20180311.zip
Not much to say here. Open GApps FTW.
Again the above build is the one I tested. Use this for a failproof installation, but feel free to use a newer build. Usually it will not be a problem.
I prefer Pico Gapps so I have the bare minimum as system apps. And I live by the KISS Principle. All other gapps I need are installed as user apps so I am allowed to use Titanium Backup to backup/restore them with data.
If you would rather use another Gapps package just pick the one you want. All packages should work but the Aroma. Aroma does not work in TWRP 3.
4 - Xenial Kernel - thanks @Jairus980:
Xenial Kernel: [Hlte][Xenial-b26x][02.01.18][N7.1-GSM].zip
Kernel thread: [Kernel][Xenial][Hlte].
With Xenial you have some fixes like the correct charging current in lock screen and working Gravity, Linear acceleration and Orientation sensors. Of course there is a lot more under the hood. If you plan to do some kernel tweaking Xenial offers more options.
If you do flash Xenial kernel do not report any bugs in RR thread. To report a bug you must first go back to stock kernel by dirty flashing RR and Magisk. If you are still able to reproduce the bug then you may post it in RR thread.
Even if there is a newer kernel release, you should keep using the build I posted here to have my tested stable setup.
Special thanks to @gj86 for his Synergy Kernel, used in my previous setup. It is also a great option.
5 - GPS Fix:
In this setup there is no need for a GPS fix. GPS is fast and rock stable as it should always have been.
But you really must update your modem to my recommend Nordic QB1 or GPS will be slow or not work at all.
Do not worry about your current location. The modem will work not matter where you are.
Latest RR builds somehow made GPS fix slower. I checked the gps.conf file and it is exactly the same as in previous builds.
I have my own optimized gps.conf, prepared originally for Marshmallow CM13, with a few more adjustments for Nougat.
After installing my gps.conf in latest RR build, gps fix is back to normal, taking only a few seconds.
I prepared a flashable zip to install my gps.conf. It saves existing gps.conf and put mine in its place.
Download it from here: Fix-GPS-for-hlte-la14.1-based-roms-v1.zip.
PHASE 3 - Backup!!
Now it is time to make backups of your current setup.
Use TWRP to make a nandroid backup. You will need it if something goes wrong. If you are paranoid like me make two and save them on your PC hard drive.
If you use Titanium make also a Titanium full backup. Remember that you should never restore system apps or settings. Use Titanium only to restore user apps and xml backups of wifi passwords, call log and sms messages.
The steps to install the new ROM will not erase your internal storage, but why not make a backup of everything to your PC or an OTG USB Drive.
PHASE 4: Install
- Make sure you have updated TWRP and your bootloader and modem as instructed in phase 1
- Make sure you have all files downloaded from phase 2 in your phone - preferably in external sdcard
- Make sure you have backups!!
- Reboot into Recovery (TWRP)
- Use advanced wipe to wipe System, Data and Cache
- Flash RR-N-v5.8.5-20180101-hlte-Official-vidwhal.zip
- DO NOT WIPE ANYTHING
- Reboot System (be patient - it will take a while, around 3-4 minutes)
- Pick your preferred launcher
- Check Settings->Date & Time and make sure it is ok
- Reboot into Recovery (TWRP)
- Flash [Hlte][Xenial-b26x][02.01.18][N7.1-GSM].zip
- Flash Magisk-v16.0.zip
- Flash open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20180311.zip (or the one you prefer)
- DO NOT WIPE ANYTHING
- Reboot System (this time it will be faster)
- Go to Settings->Accounts and add your google account
- Customize your other settings
- Run Magisk Manager and check if SafetyNet passes
- If not disable/reenable "Magisk Hide" option in Magisk Manager Settings and try again
- Restore/install apps/data
- PROFIT!

wow, nice to see that someone using and "sharing" my builds
but a little tip for you, maybe you can ask me first before you post something are modified from me, no offense and i saw that includes my name on it.
just remind you and i think i will keep building this when i'm free, anyway, thank you for posing this. all good.
EDIT: also i think there is no need for removing magisk separately, it's fine for flashing newer magisk over the older one.

Sorry, you are absolutely right.
Thanks for being cool with it.
The main point in changing the rom zip is removing the magisk manager system app. It is a little tricky for noobs to remove the system app to be able to install the v5 beta Magisk Manager.
And thanks again for making your fantastic RR build available.
Thank's for your work. I installed all, but then I had a problem. When I try to open settings/apps, it crashes everytime....

This does not happen in my phones.
In my work phone I have 600+ apps installed. It takes a while to open but no crashes.
If you post a logcat I may be able to help.
I reinstalled everything, and before made a full wipe, also of the internal storage. And the problem was no more present! Wow! And thank you again...
I checked AFH and have 30+ downloads of installation files.
Any more success or failure cases? Please let me know.
This might be a silly question: You wrote I should download the latest NORDIC COUNTRY Bootloader and Modem.
Is this also correct if im not living in an other region or should I download the one from my Country? Thanks.

I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil and use it.
If it does not work for you just flash another one.

To use Sammy Spen apps/features you need a Touchwiz based stock rom.
There are some apps with similar features for AOSP roms.
Many users say the best is SPenCommand developed by @emandt. It is paid but users say that the app is well worth the price.
Check the SPenCommand Google+ Comunity.

I installed SPenCommand but the App doesn't open. When clicking the Icon nothing happens. Anyone knows about this Problem or knows another app for this?
Beside that everything (incl. Batterylife) seems great on this first day of testing.
I have followed your step to instal, wipe dalvik/art, system, data & chache. Flash ROM then reboot.
I got 'Could not do normal boot'.
Enter TWRP again and instal synergy kernel and reboot, I still got 'Could not do normal boot'.

I have never used SPenCommand myself. Just read good things about it many times in other threads. Try to search and get help from people who are using it.
You may also check these apps: Note Buddy (S Pen Helper) and CM S Pen Add-on(ROOT).
And this guide on them: The Ultimate S Pen Customization Tool for Your Galaxy Note 3.
But be advised that I have no experience using these apps. Just found them using google.

BUGS / KNOWN ISSUES:
*Pop-up While being plugged into pc saying device can not be used, this is normal just dismiss and use as normal.
*Certain Apps do not work due to being rooted; SamsungPay, SHealth, SecureFolder and others are effected by this.
some apps now working with tima=0
*If you get stuck in setup wizard, please click back and go forward again, if it still wont proceed just reboot phone and it will make it through the setup. This happens randomly for setups it seems.
If you are having audio issues : go to /system/etc/mixer_paths_tavil.xml and change to mixer_paths_tavil.xml.bak2 and take the mixer_paths_tavil.xml.bak and remove the .bak off of it. This essentially turns off the dual speaker mod, but shouldn't need to be done, some apps just may not like dual speaker mod?
Removed This pre-built in feature on BRB4 due to many apps not supporting dual audio this way.

Changelog
Please pay attention to how files are labeled as this is to help insure you have chosen the correct firmware for your device. The U1 or U2 will be to determine if your device has been updated or not to the newer bootloader. This will forever lock your device to the newer revision bootloader U2 and you no longer can flash U1 roms or use their data from backups. Please insure you either update and flash U2 or if you are still on U1 and you bootloop and cant recover, restore using a u1 firmware or choose to flash the latest firmware.

Haha !!! 1st! Can't wait to give this a go. Thank you for your hard work! You rock!
Well ive narrowed down the camera to a issue with the updater script and the links/perms to the hardware for camera. Not sure where to start as the stock img and the eng img built very different scripts.. gonna have to play around some and see.
WOO!!! Glad to see you got it working before me!
I wanna go for a ride.. I'm buckling up!

Yes that's correct
Both are still not working. I'm still just in testing phase that it's flashing with flashfire and booting correctly for multiple people. Wiping data etc and it still works. Looking for fc's etc. I'm working on redoing the scripts in hope the cam and flash are just tied to the perm/metadata/symlinks auto generated by my tool

What happened? I'm thinking you would need to have selected wipe system and data and placed it at the top 1st because you are coming from a non deodexed Rom and i completely forgot about this step as I've been on deodexed myself for some time and it wouldn't effect me. If you want to give it another go that would be what would cause the issue.

Looking forward to downloading once uploaded, thanks for fixing the bugs
OP HAS BEEN UPDATED AND FRESH DL LINK IS AVAILABLE!
Make sure to review steps as they have changed, and i have attatched photos to op of the way flashfire should look.
Thanks so much for your hard work!
One question - I'm not rooted (yet); does flashing this (and hence being rooted) limit us to charging up to only 80%?
Thanks in advance!

Yes once rooted we are stuck at max 80% charge
Ok thanks - just got my note 8 on Saturday and I'm dying to root it. I'm just having a hard time accepting a 20% loss lol.
Hopefully the masterminds figure out a way to overcome that.
