Did you ever manage to get the LTE version working in the UK? Would also be interested to know where you got it from as I can't find an LTE for sale anywhere.
Connection the European SIM

I am interested in that too because i am struggeling with the same issue. The watch I have is an unlocked Korean version with a Tk telecom branding.
Maybe there is a complete neutral firmware for the LTE, that allows the connections of an ESIM via Gear App, as it was allowed with the Gear S2?
GrandMasterPlank. Not really tried yet, to get it working. Got it off Ebay, the same as Pixmixa the Tk telecom branded one. Think it will work has the same radio's as the Gear S2, that O2 were selling for a short time last year. But do not know if any mobile network will connect it, and how helpful they would be. Got this one because it has the possibility to connect to the mobile phone network, not sure if it ever will. But a least it can make an emergency call if i need to, not tried but said I can.
UK networks don't support esims at the moment so I doubt you'll get it to work

How did the scan of the sim card worked? Did it work in the UK or which country? Which carrier(s)? Thanks

Vodafone Germany still offers the previous S2 and shows how the activtion process works. Here you can see:
vodafone.de/hilfe/samsung/gear-s2.html#so-aktivieren-sie-das-esim-profil-fuer-die-samsung-gear-s2-classic-3g-smartwatch
(Please fullfilll the beginning of the URL, I am not allowed to post Links.)
Unfortunately, the app does not offer the menu for the S3 But its at least just a software issue, isnt it?
Pixmixa I have seen the same video, somewhere online, in english. Here is my best guess what appends the Usim/esim need to be registered on the mobile network. When you turn the S3 on it looks for a uk ICCID which is listed under Gear info/About device the first bit 898205 is for the country eg it is set for Korea. This need to be changed, which might be possible as the is a small slot at the bottom of the watch. Looks like a micro usb connection, which i have read on XDA developer is used to reprogram the esim. esims must work in the UK because the Gear S2 was being sold by O2, and i spoke to someone at O2, who phoned someone he worked with who a bought the (o2.co.uk/shop/smartwatches/samsung/gear-s2-classic-3g/). Got a QR code with it and was using it to make and receive calls.

Thank you, that is very interesting information. And you are right, there is a small docking port hidden under a plastic cap close to the wrist at the S3 too. Do you have any further information concering the reprogramming process? Maybe the process for S2 and S3 ist the same and someone who can do it for S2 can do it fo the S3 as well.
Is the docking port a micro usb connection? Not taken the plug out on mine. I was hope some Xda expert would know how to reprogram the esim.

No it is not. The watchside looks like something special. See this thread:

Does remind me of my connection on the gear S. Which if I remember correctly you can connect via USB to your computer.

I live in UK, few months ago I bought GEAR S2 Classic 3g version from south korea and i absolutely love it Sadly i realize that none of current UK providers wont be able to activate electronic sim card, i dont know why I was sure that UK wont be so far behind Korea, but it is like it is...
Today I found that o2 finally sells s2 3g watches on contract, but maybe anybody knows is it possible to activate PAYG ones? I admit I dont know how its going to actualy works. I didnt found any option to setup those cards, is it accesible at all?
ID BE APPRECIATED IF anyone whos done it could explain me if its possible at all...
Thanks..
To my knowledge the esims are locked to their individual carrier unfortunately.

I have a Verizon model Great S2, never activated, only used via BT. Can it be activated in T-Mobile? Do I need to get it unlocked?
Thanks.
I also have the Verizon model and was told the same but not sure since I myself haven't tried to activate the watch.

I'm also wondering about the radio. Do the different models have different modems, and since the Verizon one has a CDMA modem, is it incompatible with T-Mobile bands?
If you look at Network Mode you'll see WCDMA/GSM (auto connect) so I'm guessing you could, I would check to see if yours is the same, which I wouldn't be surprised if it was. I have a 2nd hand Gear S2 that was bought from TMO. Then again, what do I know since I was too chicken to buy a Verizon one to find out before buying the one I have.
OK, I live chatted with Samsung and called their support phone line. According to both, the carrier versions are carrier locked, and cannot be unlocked. So, no switching between carriers. They told me I'll need to buy another Gear S2 if I want to move to another carrier.
If the Verizon version is capable of LTE then it should be carrier unlocked out of the box just like their phones. It was part of the stipulation for them to be able to buy the extra spectrum they bought a while back.

Anyone tried to Verizon Gear S2 on a GSM network (AT&T or T-mobile)?
Just bought a Gear S2 for $99 refurbished and thinking maybe I should have bought GSM because or worldwide compatibility.
None of the Gear S2 have LTE which is carrier compatible. Verizon Sprint have CDMA 3G and AT&T and T-Mobile have GSM 3G.

Same here, saw the android police article and bought a Verizon one to replace my wife's broken fitbit. Im wondering how much more I'll have to pay monthly or to activate.
Can it be used on a sister company of version like straight talk

I attempted it yesterday, apperantly verizons model doesn't have an esim number so it can't be used.

I activated my S2 Verizon on Page Plus. Put a $10 pin on it that will last 120 days.
$0.10/min talk, $0.05 text, $0.10 meg data.
Given my experience with the Gear S this is enough for my needs when I'm occasionally without my phone.
jb
JB can you say more on how you got it activated I'm on Page Plus? Something like that would be perfect for me. Just order a T-mobile S2 Classic. Thanks.

Thank you! Is it necessary to have any connection between Samsung pay on smartphone and Samsung pay on SG3? I have S7 edge SM-935F and Samsung Pay doesn't work in Canada although I flashed it with German DBT Firmware. I don't know why because some people wrote that it should work, but it is another problem. Could you clarify please, will Samsung pay on SG3 work without any connection with Samsung pay in smartphone?

I'm sorry for meticulousness ). Does Gear Manager add card to Samsung pay on smartphone or directly to Samsung pay on SG3? In other words, is Samsung pay on SG3 able to work without Samsung pay on Smartphone?

I am told that SP works with rooted phones so the answer to your question would be yes, SP on the watch should work without SP on your phone. The issue you need to address is, does the Gear S3 that you own have the SP app already installed? Not all Gear S3's come with the app installed. At this time, only US, Australia and Singapore watches come with it pre-installed. My Canadian watch does NOT have this installed. There is no way that I am aware of that you can*sideload it either. At least I haven't figured it out.

You can pay with a watch without samrtphone, but add a card in watch will not work without a smartphone.
Sorry for my bad english.
Can your extract the samsung pay from your watch so the rest of us can sideload it?
Newbie here, but I'm looking to buy a refurbished GS3 Frontier that's been factory reset. The watch is in US, and I'm in Canada (yes, I'm polite too ). Will the watch work in Canada? I'm running on 4G/LTE from Public Mobile on my S7 Edge.

Hi eveyone,
Can anyone confirm if the Gear S3 can indeed be unlocked and if so can it be used on other carriers? I think as long as the carrier supports e-sims it shouldn't be a problem but i've been reading conflicting info like this: https://support.t-mobile.com/thread/143724#631813
Any info would be appreciated.

Since Gear S3 release, no one managed to use it on other carriers. Even if you get an unlock code, other carriers are yet unable to insert the e-sim code into their line.
So the answer is no.
Regards
As I know now,
all of Korean and USA version ARE carrier locked,
And Only Singapore version is carrier FREE.(I'm not sure, the next week when I receive the sm-r765f coming from Singapore, I can report if it's )
AND slapshot2286 unlocked his at&t version Using the code from at&T.
forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/how-to/guide-gear-s3-frontier-765a-carrier-t3537382/amp/
But register other provider' profile to built-in esim, you need a QR code(maybe it's an URL of server where contain the profile for download? Not the contents of profile? Anyone know about this plz reply me, many thanks) to scan! Lol providerS at Tokyo doesn't supply QR-Code to scan NOW.
One more important thing, you must confirm the BANDS(3G/LTE) of gear s3 is compatible with the carrier which you want to use.

If it's a esim model it will only work on T-Mobile. You can use the watch on bluetooth and works nearly the same. But never no service. I use a AT&T and Verizon watch bluetooth only.

Where I live we have no 3g networks. We are still on the GSM network so it's not an issue I think
