Galaxy s6 - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've got a galaxy s6 running 6.0.1 and ive waiting for a root method to come out for my build but none has and it seems none will. I was wondering if it would be possible to change my firmware to one of a rootable build? Really wanting to root my device and im almost despirate at this point

I've got a SM-G920W8 with telus (candian) and yes I've tried but It says I need to purchase to root which I really shouldn't have to do because there are so many other apps that are free but none of which support my build.

Were you able to get your GN10.1 rooted? If so, how?
Unfortunately, mine came with the OTA already installed so I think I might be eff'd.

What's the latest build number version for G930F?

I just bought the G930F and I'm using it on AT&T. I'm currently on G930FXXU1APB4 but I saw on Chainfire's website that he has G930FXXU1APBF. Will root work on G930FXXU1APB4?

Does it matter what build number/version I'm on when rooting my G930F? Will it work regardless?

We usually go for the latest version. Samsung never provide change list. Since your phone is rooted, it's easy to do a backup and try them out and see it for yourself, no?
I'm sorry but I don't understand how this works. My build number is this MMB29K.G930FXXU1APB4. Can I use CF-Auto-Root to root my phone?

Are Samsung Devices Rootable?

Or does an emulator still need to be used? Can Samsung Devices with Marshmallow be rooted?

Of course they can. If using odin then most methods still work even after going from lollipop to marshmallow.

So my Samsung S5 Active could be rooted using Odin? The Marshmallow update just happened last week for this phone? What about the S6 Edge?

G900f? That's an s5. What variant do you actually mean?
Anyway on a side note, if you do mean an s6 variant there are no current root methods that does not involve a pc/laptop....sorry dude.

G920F on G920V?

New to rooting ig, I have a Verizon S6 on Nougat and im looking to root it, but the last phone I rooted bricked so im kinda iffy on it. Every time i find a video or a guide on rooting an S6 on Nougat, its all for G920F, all i need to know is if I can use those files for my G920V.
I would be using TWRP 3.1.0.0, which I believe is universal, Odin 3.12.7, which i believe is also universal, and Magisk 12.0, which is what i am iffy about.
