[Urgent] USB Connection issue

Today when I connected my phone to my PC using the data cable I've always used, I got this problem. The prompt that comes up (Active Sync/Data transfer) didn't come up. But the phone started charging. I've tried soft reseting, but it didn't solve a thing.
I have *no* idea why this problem is occuring. Please help.

Happened with a cable of mine. Turned out to be the cable had broken. I've also had this if using a USB hub. Try plugging it directly into the USB port on your PC...
Hmm, I restored my system to a few days before, and the problem is solved. Wonder what was causing it.

[Q] Micro USB connect auto-mutes sound

I have begun to get frustrated with a problem im having, and thought it worthy of addressing here.
Whenever I plug in the micro-usb connector (several, including original), to either charge or connect to PC, it auto-mutes the sound on the device, displaying the muted sound icon on the top bar. It stays that way even after disconnecting the USB. Its causing me to miss calls due to me having to remember to manually re-enable the sound after each connect and/or disconnect.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is this a feature? Any fix? I could not find any similar threads by searching. This is a stock OS unhacked. with TMO.
Thanks for any assistance.
Dave
Never seen this, never had a stock TMo ROM though

[Q] Widget for USB Computer Connection Mode (MTP/PTP)

Hi all,
I apologise in advance if this has been answered somewhere here before, but I couldn't find anything on Google or using the forum search.
Background:
I usually have USB connection set to Media device (MTP) and this works for 99% of devices. The one thing that's causing me issues is the USB connection on a Hyundai i30. As soon as it is connected, it starts to scan for music to play. However after approx 5 seconds the connection drops, then it attempts to reconnect again. This causes the radio to toggle off in the car repeatedly each time it tries to reconnect and worse, ends up draining the battery on the N5 instead of charging it.
Current Workaround:
I've been able to avoid the issue by deselecting both MTP and PTP in the USB connection settings which allows the phone to charge properly.
TL/DR - Hoping for an easier way to change USB mode:
Does anyone know of any widget that exists that can toggle this from the homescreen? It's a pain to have to go all the way to USB connection each time I have to get in the car, then to remember to change it again next time I'm using anything else. Bootloader unlocked and rooted BTW.

USB Device Connected Notification keeps popping up repeatedly

"USB Device Connected
The phone's battery is being used to power the connected USB device. To save battery, please disconnect the USB device when not in use."
This notification keeps popping up whenever I connect a USB Flash drive or anything to the micro usb port. This happens even when the battery is 100%
My phone supports OTG and the drive works but its really frustrating because that notification keeps popping up.
When I click ok it goes away, but pops back after few seconds.
How can I stop this notification from popping up every few seconds ?
Please help

That sounds like something in your battery/battery saver options is telling you to remove it.
