Hello all! Last month, I tried my first attempt at rooting a MyTouch3G. Rooting the phone was easy. I installed a Froyo Cyanogenmod ROM which made the phone get stuck at the splash screen but I could still get to the loader screen. I tried a radio update after that to see if it was the issue. Now the phone gets stuck at the splash screen and ignores any key commands to get to the loader screen or USB.
I was told that the phone will need to be JTAGged at this point. I've checked around the local shops with no luck. I am looking for someone, particularly in my geographical area, who can do this for a reasonable fee.
Please let me know. Thanks!
Hello I am new to this forum and this is my first post and attempt to receive help with my phone. I read the forum rules and searched for my problem in other threads but have not found anyone with my non-rooted phone and issue. I have read many of the threads and dont understand much of the lingo and find myself looking up the meanings to words just so I can understand the post. So, if you are able to help me please try to make this simple and easy to understand for me.
I have a non-rooted Tmobile G1 phone. One day the phone rang and I could not answer it. After the caller hung up it just kept ringing. I tried to end the call and turn the phone off but it just kept ringing. Seeing as how it appeared to be stuck in the ring cycle I removed the battery for a few min and then tried to turn it back on. It boots up and the Tmobile G1 screen comes up but that is as far as it goes. I called Tmobile and they went throught the steps with me to restore the phone to factory settings. It still wont boot up it just stays at the start up screen until I take the battery out. Tmobile advised me that they cant fix it and I just have to buy a new phone but I cant afford that right now and was hoping that the alternative methods I have read about will work for my phone as well. Can my phone be fixed?
I would greatly appreciate any and all help you can give to get my phone operable again. Thank you in advance!
Hello, I did something really stupid. I just got my Sprint Xprt, tried to root, got that done. Then I deleted a file, that had something to do with the rooting. Then when I rebooted the phone , I got the welcome page from sprint, all it would do it replay that. I tried to go to recovering, but must have wiped everything, because now, it will not power on, and when I do get the phone on I get a little black battery symbol. So...can anyone help. I need something that can do it for me as I can't do much programing per say. I can follow simple instructions...I said SIMPLE. I have had the phone for only 3 days and I really liked it when I had it. Please help.
Doug
I'm not sure you guys can help me here as you seem to deal mostly with phones but I'm hoping, here is my problem.
I have the Pandigital PRD07T20WBL7 the tablet has never been hacked and I have had it for some time now but this morning when I turned it on It got as far as the boot screen and then just sits there, I have tried multiple times to reset it and/or cause it to restore to factory (Holding power and Vol up) I'm honestly not very knowledgeable when it comes to tablets or android systems so I'd love some advice on what I might be able to do to get this one working again, at this point restores or even a workable hack would be welcome. If someone could advise or point me in the right direction I would much appreciate it. BTW I have tried to run the Canadian update to the firmware just to see if I could get it working and it wont go in I get an error from the installer I've attached a screen of the error the updater gives me if thats any help to anyone. I appreciate any help I can get with the problem thank you.
I have an LG G2 D800, with stock everything; I did something either interesting or dumb, and now it won't boot. I never rooted it because all the instructions were for Windows, and I use Linux, and never found anything that explained how to do it with Linux, if possible. But I now have a a usable Windows (Vista) installed in a VM, so maybe I can do something.
Here's what happened; I hope someone can help steer me in the right direction...
I finished my AT&T contract, and decided to move to Project Fi. I got a Nexus 5X, and got an unlock code for my G2, which I wanted to give to my wife's brother in China. So, I needed to get a non-AT&T sim to enter the unlock code. Here's where I went wrong. I was curious about what would happen if I used the Project Fi sim, and since I wasn't rooted, I didn't think it would do anything bad (silly me!). Well, it did. It crashed, so I removed the sim and turned off the phone. Now, it won't boot. It sometimes just shuts down immediately, sometimes after the LG logo, sometimes after the AT&T logo, and a few times, it made it all the way to the login screen before turning off. Never further than that.
I did a factory reset, tried starting in safe mode many times, and sometimes it gets to a screen saying it's updating Android, but has never made it past 20 files before turning off. By the way, if it was reset, how could it update Android - wouldn't the WiFi need to be set up?
So, I'm wondering what might be wrong, and what might fix it. Obviously, I'm willing to try anything at this point, as it can't get much worse. The phone is in perfect shape, and would make a nice gift (or sellable item), so I hate to lose it.
I'm pretty technically inclined, but I don't know much about phone tech. I know Linux pretty well though, so I can follow directions without too much babying. Or, just point me the right direction.
It did go into download mode, but right now, it seems like it doesn't want to do that.
Thanks to anyone that can help.

Thank you for using XDA Assist. I'm going to move this thread to the specific device Q and A forum. You should find expert help there. Good luck!
