Having an issue reverting pixel to stock - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

I unlocked my bootloader and rooted my Pixel but didnt like I cant use my banking app and a few others being rooted so I decided to revert it back to Factory. Now I am stuck and will not go back to factory. Using ADB Fastboot, I try the stock img and says it cant, need to unlock bootloader,ok, well I try running dePixel8 and then it says "error:connect failed:no devices/emulators found". I can run "fastboot devices" and it shows up.Been folowing these directions https://developers.google.com/android/images . When I try to load up in recovery mode,I get the warning "your device is corrupt. It cant be trusted and may not work properly". then shuts off.Can anyone lead to the right direction here or what am i missing?

[Q] Unlocked, reflashed, app ran into problem phone restarted and bricked?

Hi there,
Im still kinda a noob with android...
but i managed to unlock my htc sensation trough the steps @HTC,
changed the recovery, tried to flash a rom.
it failed due to my phone not being S-off. so i flashed it back :/
no problem there i thought just a rooted htc.
downloaded an app to remove bloat. and all seemed fine...
I was playing Clash of Clans, and it gave a message that the Google play services stopped and the phone rebooted.
when booted the lock screen was frozen, i pulled out the battery to find out my phone is unresponsive..
When i connect to windows 8, it cant recognize my phone at all
When i connect it to a charger i dont see the charging light.
and the worse thing is.. i cant get into the recovery.
any idea's what i can try?
i checked out the [unbrick] tread but i cant seem to figure out which "Package" i need and the links on the bottom of the page dont work when i click them
Thanks in advance

At first you have not to be S-OFF in order to flash a rom.
Your rom will get installed just fine. You just need to flash the kernel of your rom manually through fastboot using the command fastboot flash boot boot.img.
What exactly do you mean by telling "so i flashed it back"?
Did you relocked your bootloader with fastboot oem lock and you flashed an RUU?
You said you are just rooted. If my theory was right you probably unlocked your bootloader again by flashing the unlock.bin and a cwm recovery and then you had to use a (Superuser , SuperSU zip).
The first time you unlocked your device was you using the same computer with windows 8?
If yes this is a problem.Check your device manager for unrecognised devices. Can you see the device?
Check this out.You can also check this.
(You can try with win7 or a linux destribution instead.)
Are you still able to boot into bootloader (hboot) using (Power)+(Vol-) Buttons?
If you have enabled usb-debugging and a working adb shell despite you are in a bootloop you can try:
Code:
adb shell
su ------>(If you don't see # instead of $)
reboot oem-78 -------> To get in RUU mode
or
reboot bootloader -------->(To reboot into hboot)
* reboot recovery could bring you to recovery *
If you can get into hboot or RUU mode give the command fastboot getvar all and copy-paste what it prints.
I know it was possible to flash with S-on,
thats what i tried and it failed (manually flashed the boot.img resulted in a bootloop)
so i flashed back to the "stock" rom.
resulting in a "normal" rooted device
since i've replaced my recovery and got root access
it never has been oem locked again.(still isnt)
i cant get into my bootloader/ruu mode. nor start up.
when i plug it into my computer (windows 8) it makes the sound as it does when you connect a device.
but in device manager it shows nothing, not even a yellow ! as it normally would if it can recognize a device.

As you have not access to bootloader but your device is still seems to get connected i think you can only try HTC Unbricking Project. If the brickdetect.sh is not working you can try a different linux destribution.

Stuck at "...unlocked...booting now..." Bricked?

Solved.
AL10, NXT-C900B133, rescue0.3, NEXT
I unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP, and rooted using SuperSU with no problem by following these directions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-root-install-t3301371
I then formatted data using TWRP wipe, then tried to install Stock Rooted No Encrypted Boot from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/development/rom-stock-rooted-encrypted-boot-t3303606
The phone never gets past "...unlocked...booting now...." (I did not install insecure_boot because I had trouble finding it---it is not in Mate 8 Android Development, only in Mate 8 Original Android Development.)
I can get to fastboot and to the Huawei recovery in Chinese (which doesn't work---wifi downloading stops with an exclamation point), but TWRP is gone, and I can't get it back by reflashing it. I've tried HiSuite recovery, unbricking using the Italian knife following these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/unbrick-updating-to-b321-t3375934
with various roms, and I've tried force flashing an UPDATE.APP from /sdcard/dload. No joy.
I caused the problem by installing a B331 rom when I was at B133—dyslexic much? Once I got TWRP back, flashing a B180 rom worked fine.
The difficulty was getting TWRP back. To do that, I flashed the following files using fastboot—it may be overkill:
TWRP-2.8.7.0-ENG.img,
insecure_boot_b331.img,
and the files in
L29Fastboot.rar.
TWRP
Hey ho!
I had exactly the same problem yesterday.
I figured out my system only was able to boot when I hold down [vol-]&[power].
Then the "not trusted message" had a few more lines and the phone booted up.
When it's up again, you can use adb to reboot to fastboot: adb reboot bootloader
You can also try to go directly to recovery if you alrteady flashed it: adb reboot recovery
From threre you can try again.
btw: I had to use a complete different TWRP version. 3.x somewhat. I think it was from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/development/recovery-twrp-huawei-mate-8-t3298567
Info: I was NOT able to use [vol+]&[power] for Recovery, eRecovery or anything else. I was just stuck.
I hope it helps.
I recommend after getting your device back on track to use twrp to make a recovery on your microsd card. That way u have a sure chance of getting bwck to working order
Same problem here, but when I try to flash recovery or boot image using fastboot, I get the message "FAILED <Remote: command not allowed> ".
Any idea?

XT1557 Fall-through from normal boot mode Moto g Turbo

Hello,
A few days ago I found my Motorola Moto G Turbo, model MERLIN XT1557 , turned off. When I switched it back on, it did not boot successfully but instead redirected to the bootloader with the message:
"Your device didn't start up successfully. Use the Software Repair Assistant on computer to repair your device. Connect your device to your computer to get the Software Repair Assistant."
"AP Fastboot Flash Mode (Secure)"
"failed to validate boot image"
"ERROR: Failed to pass validation, backup to fastboot"
"Fastboot Reason: Fall-through from normal boot mode"
"CID Read Failure"
"Invalid CID status 0x69"
I have not unlocked the bootloader or tried to install any custom firmware. As far as I can tell, this occurred spontaneously and without warning (my best guess would be an update that went wrong). For this reason, I have not enabled USB debugging either, so the phone doesn't even let me unlock the bootloader.
Recovery mode does not work, this merely gives the message "failed to validate recovery image". Nor do "Factory", "BP Tools" or "QCOM" do anything (barcodes works). Thus even if I wanted to perform a hard reset, I cannot seem to do it.
Strangely, I seem to be able to access two different types of bootloader interfaces, one with just text and another with a picture of an android. Neither seem to be of much help, however interestingly the one with the android picture states "Software Status: Official" while the pure text one sometimes (not always for some reason?) states "Software Status: Modified". Again, just to reiterate, I haven't performed any custom android modifications.
After all i tried to flash stock firmware, it installed successfully without even a single error and then again the same thing starting to happen, firmware installed but didn't solved the problem, same dual bootloaders menu start appearing.
ok, at last i am able to just boot into my phone,
used
fastboot oem config bootmode factory

and reboot. Phone opened in factory mode but still recovery is not accessible.
Working on figuring how can i get into recovery. Flashed twrp, didn't booted in recovery, flashed stock recovery, same result..

Redmi note 7 stuck in a bootloop. Can only access stock recovery, is it fixable?

Good morning!
While attempting to flash a stock MIUI 10 ROM into my Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, to downgrade back to Android 9.0 due to some app compatilibty issue, I messed up big time and my phone is now stuck in a loop where the screen turns on, nothing shows up, then it restarts, going off for a few seconds and turning on again.
Power Button + Volume UP successfully brings me to the stock recovery 3.0 from xiaomi.
Power Button + Volume DOWN fails to bring me to the fastboot mode.
If I select the Connect with MIAssistant in the recovery the phone will show up as "sideloaded" after using the command adb devices, but the MIPCSuite app does not see it and the command adb restart bootloader also fails to bring up the fastboot mode, it just gets stuck in the loop again.
More context on what went wrong and caused this: I followed an online tutorial to flash a rom using the MIFlash app, so I unlocked the bootloader and tried to flash the rom usin xiaomi's tool. I got a failed to check sparse crc error code and it went downhill from there when I tried to fix things reading multiple threads on the issue. I tried deleting some lines from the flash_all.bat file and tried to flash it again but then the flashing process went seemingly forever so I aborted the operation and now this loop happens. I tried a few more times but with no success.
The first time I tried to use the tool I used the clean all and lock option so I'm not certain if the miflash tool locked the bootloader regardless of the outcome of the flashing attempt.
Is there hope? Can I fix this phone if I only have access to stock recovery and nothing else (although it shows up in adb devices but can't get into fastbootmode) ?
Thanks a lot to anyone who took the time to read and possibly help.
Both ADB and Fastboot are Android-side launched by device's bootloader. If you can't enter Fastboot mode then my guess is there is something is wrong with curently installed Android.
BTW: If you lock device's bootloader then bootloader attempts to load device's Stock ROM.

I see.
What can I do to try to fix this issue?
I finally managed to fix it through the Emergency Download Mode (EDL). It requires Xiaomi Authentication which I bypassed using this guide: https://www.droidwin.com/fix-mi-account-authorization-unbrick-xiaomi-edl-mode/
With that setup I flashed a stock rom using the MiFlash tool.

Pixel 2: Slot Unbootable: Load Error

I have a pixel 2 which is stuck in bootloader due to "Slot Unbootable: Load Error".
So far I tried to flash / wipe the device with https://flash.android.com/ but the process can't be started due to "Device Unlock Disabled".
Anyone got some hints for me?
Unfortunately your options are rather limited because the bootloader is locked, and because OEM Unlocking is off (get_unlock_ability=0), unlocking it is not possible. This is one of those shortcomings I think should be addressed in Pixel devices but that's another conversation for another time.
Are you able to boot into recovery or Download Mode?
I'll break out my old Pixel 2 when I get home and see if I can figure something out.
Trying to boot into Recovery Mode gives the same Load Error. Trying to boot into Download Mode gives: "ERROR: Operation Denied" .

Yeah, I had the same result on my Pixel 2.
Rescue Mode unfortunately wasn't introduced until the Pixel 3.
Unfortunately I don't think there is any way to fix your device beyond taking it to a repair center and having them replace the mainboard...unless you can find someone who has both the Qualcomm Product Support Tool as well as the necessary files. It's not possible to flash the device via bootloader when bootloader is locked; the prescribed method to update outside of system is via recovery (ADB sideload).
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
I was concerned that might be the case. Appreciate your efforts.
