Can't send txt after CM14 - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Flashed from CM13 to CM14 without issues. However, every nightly after 11/16 causes my phone to not send txt messages. Have tried different apps, checked carrier settings, re-flashed, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

I think the Beanstalk thread gives us the best perspective on the issue. Probably early issues that will eventually get fixed.

Which baseband? This behaviour smells a lot like some of the other weirdnesses I've seen when I've had an image installed which was expecting a baseband other than the one I had in play. When I tried CM14 had the latest official O-something or other for the SM-G900P SPR and like a lot of folks, GPS was just not functional at all. So... after wiping the everythings (literally everything except my ejected microSD card) and reinstalling CM13 through TWRP certain operations (like initializing GPS) were still taking a good 30-45 seconds to initialize which wasn't the case previously with the late October nightly I was using. ...another sign that something has gone off the rails with the modem-y parts, and that they might be in a tizzy about being talked to with the wrong API.
So... just to reset everything I wound up reflashing the O-something stock firmware I had, then letting it upgrade itself via the two OTA patches to PK1. (Don't worry, I find the idea of tolerating Sprint's Crazy-Town modifications laughable.) Updated the profile and the PRL for giggles, and then reflashed in TWRP, wiped the everythings again and sideloaded the same CM13 nightly and Gapps.
I've just gotten things squared back away with CM13 and haven't had a chance to circle back around to try CM14 again (because all that other stuff takes a few hours and makes testing conflict with things like, sleeping and eating) with the new baseband, but the pass through stock and it's updates sorted out the strange 30-45s glitches. If anyone's actually tried CM14 with a PK1 baseband it would probably be worth hearing if they've got GPS and cellular traffic working simultaneously.
Update: Sure enough, after upgrading to the PK1 baseband (via a reflash to stock) CM14.1 seems to be able to handle cellular data and voice calls, wifi, bluetooth and GPS. There was a bit of weirdness with Allo making a terrible sound instead of beeping, but all things considered it looks like it's stable enough to be a daily driver for the SM-G900P now.

[Q] Flashed CM 10.1 and Phone Calls no longer work

I flashed CM 10.1 (CDMA version) the other day and since then, phone calls haven't really worked. I can make outbound calls, but can't really receive inbound ones. When the calls connect, I can hear everything on the other line, but they can't hear me at all. I managed to reinstall Sprint Zone, and the network test shows Voice fails, and tells me I need to update my profile. The funny thing is, my data network works better than on the stock ROM.
Onto tried solutions:
CM 10.1 doesn't have a menu to update profile or prl, and the methods in the forums and on the web for manually updating PRL are way above my head. Special dialer codes like ##3282# don't work at all. Got off the phone with Sprint Customer Care this morning, and even though the lady was nice, she pretty much told me I'm SOL. If ANYONE has a solution, or at least a temporary fix for making calls, please, for the love of God reply. I'm really freaking new to this and lost all my backups somewhere along the way, so restoring it to pre-flash isn't an option.
EDIT: Finally figured out how and successfully flashed the factory FXZ for 4.1.2. Problem Solved.
You need to do any/all PRL updating before flashing a custom ROM.
Reflash stock, get everything working there - update your PRL, make sure voice works (inbound, outbound etc). Then flash a custom ROM.
Also, I recommend something newer - CM10.1 is really old at this point. CM11 is pretty stable, even the nightlies - although note, they are all built under a unified device name, look for moto_msm8960

Blaze Signal Keeps Going Out Problem(On Any ROM!)

So here's my issue, my Galaxy S Blaze has been switched from ROM to ROM constantly, I have seen ROMS with modified build.props, other added features, and a bunch of other tweaks, you name it! I don't know what all those tweaks mean, I have no idea if it could affect the way my phone receives the signal but it got me so frustrated that I kept switching roms until finally then I went back to stock and am no longer am switching to another ROM.
Here's a history of the ROM switching I've made in the past couple of months:
1st - MIUI
2nd- Cyanogenmod
3rd- Gummy ROM
4th- Liquidsmooth ROM
5th- Cyanogenmod
6th- Dirty Unicorns (problems with signal started occurring right about here, and onwards)
7th- Stock ROM (hmm... nope nothing fixed.)
8th- Validus (still no, I didn't like the constant force-closing of many apps)
9th- Gummy ROM (nope, what's worse is my screen kept freezing if I had atleast 2 apps open and I slid down the notification drawer)
10th- Cyanogenmod (well, maybe switching to cyanogenmod will fix it)
11th- Gummy ROM (*sigh* switching back? Nope, still didn't help my signal)
12th- Stock ROM (you would expect it to be fixed right about here, but nope)
So what's up what is the exact problem with my signal? Here's the thing: My signal works! That's a start atleast. However, if I turn on my Wi-Fi while I'm home, I can still call/text people, all of that works. But after maybe 2 hours or so, the signal bar is still there, it's telling me it has signal and it's connected, SOMETIMES it will be empty meaning I have no signal(when I really do). But in reality, I can't receive texts, nor calls, none of that. So how do I fix it? By restarting my phone sadly, that has been the only solution for me for these past 2 months. People have complained to me because I don't answer my phone anymore, well I'm sorry my phone can't receive those calls due to this messed up signal. There are 3 other T-Mobile phones in the house that have no problem! The problem here is with my Blaze phone.
So what if I turn the Wi-Fi off for the whole day and see if it's the main thing causing the issue? Well, I did this. Turns out that the signal stays on longer than when I'm on Wi-Fi but it still goes out. I have switched SIM Cards, I have tried switching my APN: from "epc.tmobile.com" to "fast.t-mobile.com" but the problem appears to happen more quickly on the "epc" one than the "fast" one. Please help me with this, this has been frustrating me a lot lately. I'm not sure if anyone has even had the same exact problem that I'm having, I've searched online but haven't seen a similar problem.
Some of you might say, wow that is a lot of ROMS you've switched to, I'm sure there were more that I missed but that's as of recent. I can install ROMS correctly, I know how to use CWM when installing a .zip and using Odin when it's a .tar(or other supported file extensions). I've factory reset, wiped the cache, the dalvik cache, all before installing a new rom. After installing each rom, I've also factory reset and wiped the cache to make sure no other problems could affect the way the rom would work. Hopefully I did the procedure right, thanks for anyone who's willing to help me!
Right now I am running:
Baseband Version:
T769UVLH5
Kernel Version:
3.0.8-perf-T769UVLH5-CL990184

SMP PREEMPT Fri Aug 17 15:12:14 KST 2012
Android Version:
4.0.4
Another Issue is that I can't even transfer files to and from my phone when connected to my computer! This is another big issue, here are some images:

http :// i.imgur.com/1wRzJpX.png
Here's what happens when I turn Wi-Fi Calling on but maybe it's just a built-in function that I forgot it had and it's probably normal:
http :// i.imgur.com/cTSqRci.png
By the way, sorry for the links just copy and paste them in a browser to and remove the spaces between the http :// and i.imgur, thanks! Unfortunately, I can't post links until I reach 10 posts. If the links don't work for you, I've also provided attachments.
Many thanks!!!
That last picture does show the proper function of Wi-Fi calling however I don't know what to say about the rest of your problems.

There are two things I would recommend trying...
1. Use Blackhole System Wipe
I know you've been following all the proper steps in CWM (and I would say to keep doing so), but I've added using Blackhole, in addition to the first steps, and I always get great system performance on my phone, and my parent's phones (I put them on ProvisionMod after stock was being stupid). It works well for pre installation for ANY ROM and helps prevent pesky issues. However, chances are, your issue is baseband related and this probably won't solve it... But still! You never know! It's worth a shot!
2. Reroot your phone
I know this will be annoying and pesky... but sometimes the process goes wrong from the beginning and starts giving issues later on... When I first rooted my mom's blaze, something went wrong, despite my following all the directions, and one of her partitions was completely disabled, no matter the ROM. I redid the process of rooting her phone (not from GB though... From the ICS stock) and fixed the issue instantly! I would try these two steps first and see if they do anything! Good luck!

I switch back to cm11 because i have 6%/hr of battery drain, (7hr/41min Screen on time, 65% left), that is for me horrible battery life.
I did not look the cpu states, but, if there is no deep sleep, it sould explain mi experience about battery.
I have the same mensage when I was in f2fs. I have to go back to ext4 to work.
Does anyone know if the AOSP Camera will be made available? I don't like the Google one since it doesn't allow me to choose the external SD card as a storage option.
The system itself boots, and runs quite smoothly from what I've tried so far. Very exciting!
But I've found that Lastpass crashes immediately when I try to launch it. I did a clean install with CM12 11/17. Has anyone else seen this behaviour with this app? I'm assuming for the moment it just hasn't yet caught up to Android 5, and I'll have to sit patiently on 4.4 until then.

I don't use that app, but it's probably either one of two things (or both):
This ROM was just release back on 11/14, so it's fairly new (the 11/14 was the first release), so there could be some issues that are causing the app to fail.
The app needs to be updated to run correctly under LP. There were some major changes to the API for LP that could cause other apps to fail that are now using these deprecated API calls. The developer needs to take there app and compile it under the latest LP compiler and libs to see if it compiles.
So, you'll probably have to wait and see. So far, I've been lucky. The apps that I need to work (CoPilot USA, etc) all work. Just waiting for dhacker to figure out the correct set of libs for DRM so that Google Play Movies and Netflix start working again. They work fine under my Nexus 7 running LP, but that was an official release by Google.

It turns out it was simply a matter of PEBCAK. I uninstalled Android System Webview, because it has the same icon as the stock Browser, while I was removing unwanted processes.
The first time , I flashed 11/15 version, everything seems to work fine ,then I flashed gapps, then I got no signal anymore, but everything else seems to work, so I did a factory reset, the gsm signal came back again, today when I trying to flash 11/18 version, the signal gone again, this time I don't want loose my data , what should I do to get a gsm signal? *#*#4636#*#* seems not working on 11/18, sorry for my poor english

Ah, I'm familiar with those errors as well as the ID10T error as well.
Works just fine, very smooth. Had no troubles with the signal at all.
However, I can't receive a call, the dialer just stops. It is possible though to make a call. Anyone had this problem?
yes had that error many times "dialer has stopped", this is work in progress man. I hope that dhacker checks this and the other thread and try to remedy some of the prob.
For that dialer has stopped error, a reboot can cure it. But again i cant rely on a phone that is going to quit when you need to make or receive a call.
So the fix for no service is still reboot and hope?
I'm on Verizon CDMA, XT926, 11/23 build, 11/22 gapps, SuperSU 2.27
Thanks.
Doug B.
I had an odd issue on 11/22 build:
When I connect my car via bluetooth, when a call comes in, pressing the answer button does nothing and the call keeps ringing forever.
Also,
Is Anyone having issues with restoring on TWRP 2.8.1.0? I tried restoring a backup I made and my phone won't boot. It just gets stuck at the cyanogen mod screen.
Edit: I restored a previous backup, installed TWRP 2.8.2.0 and then restored the backup I was trying to. It worked.

On my 11/25 build data wasn't working at first, I just turned it on and off from settings and it started working.
11/25 build is working for me as far as being able to receive phone calls. I was previously getting FCs on it when an incoming call was coming, but I was also running f2fs. I've gone back to ext4 and things seem to have stabilized at this point.
This build is the dhacker? I found nothing in his link. Many changes over the previous build?
When open 3g ,call comein can not.
How to fix it?
Thank.

SMS issue
Is the sms issue (can't receive sms, although the phone I'm sending from receives the delivery report) still present in this new build (12-02)? I've tried the 11-25 build and BlissPop and none of them allowed me to receive sms... It's the one real issue that's keeping me from jumping into Lollipop
Razr HD (XT925, KK bootloader)
My device does not come out of the boot with this version.

[Q] Sprint Nexus 5 no data on all post-LMY48B AOSP ROMs

First off, yes it's a Sprint problem. Yes, you aren't obligated to care.
I was happily running a myriad of 5.1 ROMs that I was just dirty flashing for awhile. Decided to move up to the latest Chroma and did a clean flash and...no data. I get a signal and an exclamation mark. Well, I've certainly seen this before. I tried flashing the Sprint fixes floating around and with no luck. As soon as I disconnected from wi-fi I'd lose data.
I flashed the factory image and was up and going in no time. Did a profile and prl update (since those have never worked on AOSP roms) and tried another clean flash of SlimLP, CM12.1, and Chroma. No data on any of them. For the meantime I'm back to using a debloated factory image and Code Blue.
I'd really like to go back to using RRO on a custom ROM. Are any other Sprint users having this issue? Any workarounds? I know we had this issue during the early stage of CM12, after which a fix was identified and committed upstream.
Also having this issue... Without the exclamation mark though. One thing to attempt is the dialer *#*#4636#*#* option and switch between variations of the LTE/GSM/CDMA combination... Occasionally I can get my connection to data back, but it's not reliable... A more reliable fix would be appreciated

AOSP Or Lineage ROMs for Sprint

If I'm understanding correctly none of the current roms work on Sprint's network. Is that correct?
I've tried lineageOS and couldn't hold a signal so if there's one that works please point me in that direction.
Thanks.
I hadn't had any luck with ROMs on Sprint either until today. I decided to restore my TWRP backup of LineageOS 14.1 official, then I re-flashed the bootloader and radio from the most recent stock build (I had been on 4.4.3 to test something). The device was not active on my account at the time, but when it booted up, I got an alert from Signal Check Pro that it had an LTE signal, and the LTE indicator was on. So then I signed on and swapped devices to try to reactivate it, and immediately went into carrier settings and tapped update network settings. I got an alert shortly after saying com.android.phone had stopped, but it appeared to work, and I had a signal and LTE indicator. There was a Lineage update showing (May 17), so I downloaded it (over LTE) and installed it. Everything has been working so far, both before and after the update: voice, LTE (all bands), SMS, MMS, and RCS. So I really didn't do anything different, it's just working now.
Note, I have had SMS problems on every stock build starting with the first 6.0.1 build, and all security releases after it. I haven't had any problems on any older Android version. What happens is it works fine for a while, but at least once a day. SMS stops working until I reboot or update network settings. That's why I installed Lineage, trying to determine if it's a bug in Android or the radio. So far, no problems, but it has only been a few hours.

LOL it course the SMS bug struck after about 24 hours.. except this time it took a couple of tries to get data working again, and SMS wouldn't work again.. I knew better.. back to stock again..
