[MOD][Xposed] Make Infrared Blaster working with 3rd party apps (on EUI) - LeEco Le Max 2 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hi!
I've created an Xposed module for my LeEco Le Pro 3 phone, so that I can use the IR blaster not only with the included Remote control app from LeEco but with any other 3rd party infrared app from the Play Store which uses the standard Android ConsumerIR API (for example like RCoid).
XDA user @serc tested for me that it also works for the LeEco Le Max 2 (X820), so I thought I will leave a note also here in this forum (@admins: I hope this is ok).
You will find my related threads in the LePro 3 forum:
[MOD][Xposed] Make Infrared Blaster working with all 3rd party apps (on EUI)
[REF] How Infrared is (not) working on LePro3 - some infos for IR devs
The Xposed module is available via the Xposed Installer app, just search for "LeEco Infrared Fix" (or simply click this link on your phone).
Full source code is available at Github under GPL license: github.com/johnzweng/XposedLePro3Infrared

I confirm it is working with me.
I had to use the remote app that comes with the phone and giving it all the permissions first, then I could use 3rd Party apps.
I use Peel smart remote.
Thanks

hi androcheck,
after a reboot now, OS remote and rCoid are not working
i have tried
to reinstall reboot fix apk ver1.1
to deinstall fix apk ver1.1 and use remote from OS

Whithout any further infos I have no idea what could be the problem here. You could save the logcat (Android log file) like I explained here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70096764&postcount=37
In the resulting logfile we should see, if the module gets loaded and what happens when it tries to perform its "magic" (i.e. errors or other hints what doesn't work). Just search for lines with "LeEco_Infrared_Fix".

My X820 has small eUI by aurel and IR blaster was not recognized by AnyMote Smart Remote.
After installing this and restarting the phone AnyMote was still saying that there is no IR blaster on my phone but after closing and opening again the IR blaster was recognized and works as expected with my samsung TV!
Thank you androcheck!

When it installed on RR-N with official Xposed 88, device gets stuck on boot animation. Can you update this module to work on Nougat?

could you please update it to work with custom roms.

Just tested it with eui 19s (Indian).
Not working.

I just Got this phone Let's pro 3 AI x650 a few days ago and I discovered that the Infrared App Is missing, as a matter of fact there are no leEco apps on the phone. I have downloaded over 10 remote control apps and all failed to work, please I need help

It isn't working on MIUI 9 8.2.1 MM

i9505G (Google Edition) IR works on standard firmware from Samsung

I have an i9505G (Google Edition actual device) and IR apps are working; so kernel/driver DO expose IR (using just 3rd party apps but the ones stating G4 compatible are working fine and IR is working)
Just an FYI ; no kernel or driver changes needed

+1 for this one. I just installed it and set it up on my stock i9505G running 4.3. It has support for plenty of obscure TVs and cable boxes. So far, its the best IR app I've tried, and its free.
Yeppers watch on works. So do many other Samsung apps. Shealth and Svoice are also working. I don't really likes watchon but if does work. Took forever to setup so that my Sony receiver would control sound while using dish for channels and of course turn on off the tv

Sixasis Controller does not work on Android Pie

Hi.
I Just installed the ROM DeluxeROM v12 And I went to install the application Sixasis Controller and not connect it with my Dual Shock 4. I sent a few emails to the developer but I have not received an answer.
In Android Oreo If I work.
I don't have an answer but Android Pie now natively supports the Sony DS4 controller over USB and Bluetooth. You no longer need Sixaxis unless for some reason support wasn't added with your phone.
Also, Android Pie made a lot of security changes. Among them is blocking apps from simulating touches. Malware was doing this to steal from banking apps and likely a motivation for this change.

[MOD] Amazon Prime Apk [Black Screen Fix]

After learning through a lot of smali guides on XDA , I finally managed to make my own Amazon Prime Mod
For many of us that don't have ChromeCast or any other external device to Cast to the Television or any other casting device , here comes a solution for the annoying Black Screen (Black Screen where only audio plays no video)
The black screen is a protection for the DRM content being played by Amazon and I managed to remove it
Features:-
Enabled Screen Mirroring (No need of chromecast or any screencast device)
You can find the apks here
amazon_prime_3.0.268.28447.apk
amazon_prime_3.0.269.96447.apk
Folder Link
Prime_Patched
I will keep updating the app with the PlayStore apk updates
Here you can find a sample screenshot

Please note that the Amazon Shopping App won't run together with this app.Uninstall that before using this mod
(I am still trying to figure out the reason though)
Reserved just in case
error install in xiaomi 9t pro miui 11.0.6 stable.
PD: Uninstall shop amazon xD, now install ok and work great!!, thank you
I get "App not installed" message regardless which apk I install. (Moto g power, rooted with magisk)
Black screen issue
I have try both app after uninstalling amazon shop but when casting only audio listing video not showing. Plz help me. I am using POCO-F1

Hi, Thanks for the mod apks. I've not tried them yet. Funny thing is, prime works in Marshmallow without mod or virtual exposed, but not in higher android upgrades. But other apps like netflix don't work at all.
I just wanted to know if you could help us in telling what to mod in the apk, so I can try it in Other apps.

That Black Screen is restrictions for DRM content
Mostly all of that started after Marshmallow, therefore no issue to Android versions below that (ofcourse xD)
What I modded in this app was a flag which told a certain method if the content was DRM or not
For example if you take Prime certain sections can be cast to the screen and certain sections cannot
That flag determines it
So before you reverse engineer , you must know how to engineer
The key to engineering such a feature is Google
https://developer.android.com/reference/android/view/Display#FLAG_SECURE
Now to reverse this
I first found out all occurences of FLAG SECURE throughout the app ( Don't ask me how, if you don't know you need to read all the other smail guides all around. it's the basics) and then a little knowledge of smali helped me disable it
HONESTLY, It's time to get a New TV with Android
Thanks

thanks a lot.. you saved the day for me,..
Since this thread is receiving a good response and huge thanks to a guy called Joshua (who just PMed) me with the fix to work both Prime and Amazon shopping together, I'll post the latest apk for Prime with the black screen stuff removed
And also if possible I'll try to do it with Netflix too
Cheers to you guys!
Will you still post the latest apk?
I can't install your files from last april (can't uninstall the other Amazon apps, only deactivating since they are preinstalled as bloatware - but that won't help on my XZ2 device)
So at the moment I use an older device for streaming where your apk works. However, installation of the other Amazon apps like Amazon Photos fails...
So your updated apk will be greatly appreciated

I actually have a solution that worked for me that you can do yourself!
I cloned the official latest VS of prime using app cloner arm, and selected options : redirect external storage, allow screenshots, and disable screen mirroring. Despite what you would think, with those options enabled I am actually able to screen mirror through my phones video out (I haven't tried wireless mirroring but as nothing else was working for my video out I presume it will work as well)
Good luck and let me know if it works for you!
So after not using It for an hour or so, when opening the cloned app again I got a sync error.
Restart on reinstall 2 golden rules

Thanks for the App Cloner suggestion
I tried and also got the sync error after a while: could_not_create_sync_account.
Maybe there are some suitable options within AppCloner preventing this error?
However, clearing cache/data makes the app starting again.
So this is the best solution we have right now, unless someone provides new modded apk's...
Anyone have a solution for: could_not_create_sync_account????. whenever I clear data downloaded videos disappear

That is exactly the problem we are currently discussing here.
So no, no solution yet!
At least until someday updated apk files are being distributed, as teasered in post #10...
Hey guys! I had the same issue with the prime video black screen and I was looking for a solution. Apparently I found the fix, just look and install the version 3.0.258.30941 or any version before december 2019( I tested it and it's working fine). Obviously never update the app

Hi All,
I found the solution. Just go ahead and use an old apk from say Jan 2019.
I used teh following site to get the old apk and it's working for me.

Tried, it doesn't work on modern phone (Android 11, MIUI 12) but it does work on an old phone (Android 6, MIUI 10). What could be the reason for this?

Modded Peacock TV (Android TV ROOTED FIX) - seeking someone to test

So I finally spent a few moments trying to find a workaround for using peacock on my rooted Nvidia shield.
On rooted devices, Peacock will pretty much instantly force close.. Even if you're passing safety net and using magisk hide.
To workaround this I simply disabled three activities/permissions in the AndroidManifest.xml:
android:name="disabled_com.peacock.peacocktv.safetynet.SafetyNetErrorActivity"
android:name="disabled_com.peacock.peacocktv.ErrorActivity"
<uses-permission android:name="disabled_android.permission.QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES" />
You'll more than likely need to have signature verification disabled, but I'm not 100% positive on that. Also, to be safe before opening the modified apk below, hide magisk from it.
IF YOU PREVIOUSLY HAD PEACOCK INSTALLED, CLEAR DATA AND UNINSTALL IT BEFORE INSTALLING THIS MODDED APK
APK is attached, just extract the zip and install the apk.. let me know if it works for you too..

No luck here, still force close on my 2017 Nvidia Shield. I cant even get an unmodded version to run on a unrooted 2017 running 8.2.3. Been trying off and on for over a year. Did have it up and running on an earlier firmware by installing before root. Stopped working after about 30 days.
It didn't work for me
Followed this guide to disable apk verification (didn't work without it) https://www.andnixsh.com/2020/01/how-to-install-unsigned-apk-root-method.html
After successfully installing, I open the app, see the Peacock logo, and then it force closes
Anyone get Peacock to work on rooted Android?
I say we just give Peacock feedback, I 1 starred their app and submitted to support that this is BS. Believe it or not I have a subscription and can't watch on my rooted Nvidia Shield
I was trying to test that on 2019 shield and it would fail from the start, i wonder what am i doing wrong?
If you need a tester, you can PM me and I can test them and let you know
Thank you @bobpiesz, I got your mod working on the FireTV 2nd gen Cube. I can confirm that all of the following are required:
- Your modded Peacock app
- Disabled signature verification in order to install modded Peacock app
- Magisk app needs to be hidden
- Peacock needs to be added to the Magisk denylist, and Enforce Denylist needs to be enabled.
If you open Peacock before you have done all of these steps, the app will remember that the device is rooted. So in this case you have to clear Peacock data & cache.
I wrote up the steps to disable signature verification here as well as the other steps. Feel free to cannibalize what you want
I modded Peacock v1.6.89 (~June 2022). There is at least one new root check in v1.7+ that will have to be found to get the newer releases working.
I removed one of the main activities from v1.6.89 so that the app now only creates 1 icon. On FireTV at least, only one of the two icons would launch without closing, so I removed it.
ok so i tried to use this on a android 11 android tv box and guess what it doesn't work like is there a version of this that actually works

Question How to enable VR, Daydream VR on S22 Ultra

was bored and was curious if anyone had been able to modify the existing Google VR apps to bypass the incompatibility check. thankfully someone has! so if you still have a Google DayDream VR headset you're in luck.
one oddly positive note is that the display perfectly is calibrated to work perfectly with the DayDream 2.0 viewer. I was concerned as with the larger screen, the S22 Ultra would be way out of calibration but that is not the case.
to note, when pairing your daydream Bluetooth controller, you'll run into an issue where the daydream app does not seem to know when pairing is completed. to address switch off your Bluetooth and after 5-10 seconds switch it back on. then the daydream app will confirm pairing is complete and you'll be good to go!
I saw this post a few days ago and I remembered it and thought about the time I got Daydream on incompatible devices even without root, I used a modified Google VR Services APK to bypass the compatability check and got it working on a Note 9 (why is the Note 9 not even supported in the first place it's literally the same as the S9). Anyway it worked pretty well you will just have to do a bit of sideloading to get some apps & games as the Daydream app can only show things that the Play Store deems "compatible". Just install the modified Google VR Services APK, a Daydream APK, and the Daydream Keyboard APK and just sideload most of your apps.
If you want to get your paid apps, use an app called zBackup, it allows you to backup apps as an APK and include it's OBB. Download zBackup on your old Pixel and on your new Pixel. Then backup your paid apps and their OBBs. Then copy the ZIPs and APKs zBackup backed up and restore them on your new Pixel.
Modified VR Services APK:
Trying to get Daydream working on the MZP without root.
Can some one please help me edit the Daydream related APK's to automatically pass the checks in /system/etc/permissions/handheld_core_hardware.xml for and
