From NXT C900 B170 to B320 - Mate 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I just bought my Mate 8 which is a chinese model (AL10) rooted to NXT C900 B170 (stock international rom).
I would very much like to flash to B320 (in order to get EMUI 4.1).
What rom do you suggest I flash before B320 ? I read that it it risky to directly flash from B170 to B320.
Thanks !
Kind regards.

Thanks. I wouldn't want to "try" any method that's not proven as it's my work phone.

Thanks wmfreak...I installed both the files using TWRP but now I have 2 issues
1> No matter what version of TWRP I install, I am unable to get back to TWRP screen. Sometimes it goes to EMUI recovery, and sometimes it hangs and just says "your device is booting now". I am using TWRP. 3.02 4.1 . Is it the wrong version ? Or am I using the wrong hote keys.
Are you able to go to the TWRP screen after nougat? Please help!

In twrp go to wipe, then format data, then type in yes. Then you'll be decrypted.

Dear Brother,
I am also facing the same problem in my Mate 8 L29 - B560. Did you fix the above issue in your Mate 8? If fixed please let me know the solutions.
Thank you.
You need to find insecure boot.img for your system and flash it and then flash any Rom via twrp (use any guide but first flash boot.img and format everything).
Remember to backup Tour data from SD card and internal first

Extract from your software package that u used UPDATE.APP and put it on /dload folder on SD Card. You have to install it via Holding vol up and down and power at the same time. (you can find step by step how to do it on the xda forum)
Later you can find OEM unlock in Developer options. Untick it.
So, What's the solution?

Problem to flash a new Rom

Hello,
I "encourtered" a problem with a new update.
I bought an Asian Huawei Mate 8 with the C636B152 version.
Next, I use a C900B320 version to flash this Huawei. Currently it works perfectly.
But now, I have a zip file ROM C432B320 to flash it and I try to update.
For that I use the 3 buttons method.
I extract the zip file in a dload folder on the SD card.
I use 3 buttons and the smartphone restart.
It seem the update is perfectly but, after reboot my huawei is always with the C900B320 version
I launch TWRP and it say : "Device not rooted". Is this the problem ?
What should I do to resolve this ?
Thank you very much to help me.
Regards.

Hello,
I "encourtered" a problem with a new update.

Update .152 question

Hello,
I get a notification that I can update my P20 Pro from .131 version to .152 version.
The update has around 700MB, the problem is that when my update gets downloaded and when I reboot the device it reboots the device in to a TWRP where I get an error 9 with an information that the update has failed to install.
What can I do?
Should I remove TWRP, would that help?
I really want that update since I have very bad SOT (4 hours of SOT max )
Thank you all in advance
Hi,
We can't do it if you have TWRP. You must use HuRUpdater.
I did it on my P20.
You can use Huawei Firmware Finder APK on play store to download the packages.
(I will do it with 8.1.0.164 )
How to use:
Warning: Make sure you know what you are doing and do not flash firmware from other devices.
Download firmware files (for official firmware use Huawei Firmware Finder).
Put files you want to flash in a seperate folder on sdcard.
Supported zip files to flash are (name must match):
update.zip (use FullOTA file)
update_all_hw.zip
update_data_public.zip
Optional: Put recovery.img in same folder if you want to keep custom recovery.
