Can you send/receive emails on Frontier LTE without being connected to your phone?
I can send and receive calls and texts but the Mail program doesn't seem to work?

I use wireless tether regularly and have noticed that while in a tethered state, the phone no longer receives texts or voicemails.
Is this a "feature" of Google Voice? Making me keep voice open on my browser to notice any incoming messages?
Any way around this?
wierd bc I always tether my laptop w/my phone and dont have any problems whatsoever when 'I'm on the phone, txting, or browsing the web. I'm on stock 2.3.4
Maybe I should have been more specific.
Data will still go to the phone while tethering. I can browse, send texts, etc. It will even receive pushed emails & their notifications.
It will not receive text messages or voicemails though, until after I turn off the tethering.
My suspicion is that it has to do with Voice, and particularly with Sprint's integration of voice.
Ok - I'm trying to think of a creative way to get text messages if you didn't have access to cell service, but had access to internet. Something like having all SMS forwarded to Google Voice BUT that wouldn't require it to be done at an application level or using t-mobile WiFi calling to access SMS. Any ideas?

I receive SMS alerts from an email server for work. I would like to differentiate those from my other SMS messages but I cannot get the custom notifications to work when the sender is an email address. I did test and it works as expected when the sender is a mobile number.
I found another person having the same issue and they were able to enter the email address in the mobile number field to get custom notifications to work properly but that does not work for me. The other post was over a year ago so things may have changed.
Anyone have any ideas?
I am going to be living for a couple of months in an area where i will not have good reception, and am worried i won't receive many calls/texts.
I am wondering if there is any way that i can have my SMS's forward to my email, since i plan to have wifi and could receive email. I know there are apps that can do this, but it would seem that every app is only forwarding a copy of the message from your phone, once it is received on the phone. I am looking for a way to have unreceived messages automatically forward to my gmail, although i am thinking it is a limitation based on the carrier
I have an S4 and am on ATT
Any good advice on what to do about the calls as well would be appreciated too.
I do NOT receive group texts on my S2. I receive single person texts on my S2. And when I reply to group text on my phone, my S2 shows the number as 4073***300948. Any advice? I am using stock everything. I have Bluetooth OFF on my phone. Have the R703A with simcard from ATT.
If you are in standalone mode (non Bluetooth) then you are using your watch's phone #. Go to your watch settings and choose to use sync. All SMS, MMS and the like will be synced to your smartphone's #.
