Using the rom located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1624433
I am using 4ext as my recovery boot, and have installed all CapRom Rom's this way.
The latest one uses the new Aroma installer and when choosing what mods to install, if i select the beats audio as one WiFi calling no longer becomes an option in settings.
I saw within the rom thread that someone else had mentioned that data isn't working either, but i didn't pay attention to that since the connection in my house sucks. I always just check if wi-fi calling is working or not.
As of now i've reinstalled the ROM and choose not to install beats audio.
New version i will release soon will fix beats.
sit tight a bit!
Awesome. I'll keep an eye on your original post and then post my results here.
Side question if I may
With the new addition of the arora installer, when selecting say the aosp messaging mod how is that updated? I looked for it under installed applications from the play store and nothing messaging shows up (unlike the apex launcher).
Would these mods only be updated anytime your ROM is updated? If so, how would I go about updating them? I'm not sure who makes them. I think the msg mod is this one .
I'm not update hungry, just more or less curious so i know how it works. I'm also wanting to try and contact the dev of the messaging mod.
Many thanks again.

The link you gave me to try has worked.
I installed it via 4ext, and during the aroma installer i choose to install beats audio. Wi-Fi calling is working!
I also disabled wi-fi to see if i could pick up a 4G tower to see if data was working, and I was able to pick up one. Yey.
Were you able to figure out a fix for the data not working? I'm still having the issue. IT says its connected (WIND Home) but apps which require data state that it cannot connect. I have tried at full bars but no data symbol appears =/
So I have been searching for a while now for a way to get DSPManager working on my Sensation running stock ICS. The only reason I want it is for the dynamic range compression feature. I listen to a LOT of podcasts and they tend to vary in volume and sound quality and the DRC feature would help a lot with it, especially when playing audio from a car stereo.
I have Rockbox on my old iRiver music player with this feature built in and it works flawlessly. However the Rockbox Android port is basically non-functional on my phone.
I rooted and unlocked the phone back in February hoping that would allow me to overwrite the existing files on the phone with the DSPManager files (or the beats audio files). I was able to get it installed and it opens to the screen, but when I try to enable the DRC feature, it crashes.
It seems like the only way this will work is if I flash a custom ROM (like Elegancia.) The problem is that I tried getting S-OFF earlier today and it failed, downgraded my HBOOT from 1.29 to 1.27, and almost soft bricked my phone. I was following the directions in this post. I recovered from a nandroid backup and was able to get the phone going again. I still have S-ON at this point. This is my only phone, so I'm paranoid about permanently screwing it up.
So... is it possible to get DSPManager working on the phone as it is? Or just install Elegancia without S-OFF? This guy has a tutorial where he installed Revolution HD successfully with S-ON.
I've also looked for an app that would give me dynamic range compression but haven't found one.
I'm still a noob to all this flashing stuff... just did a lot of reading before trying this. So take it easy. Thank you.

hi mate,
once i tried to flash beats audio in my ics rooted stock rom and it flashed it successfully
but after that when i open htc's music widget to listen some songs i saw beats audio icon in status bar
but the problem was that from the widget i hadn't sound at all
just playing the songs without sound
maybe it screwed somehow htc's music app
i don't know about dsp manager but if you try it do a nandroid first just in case
about flashing roms with S-ON you can see also this

Search up acid audio mod. It has a Awesome Beats manager (kind of like DSP). It also improves the sound quality a lot.

of course verified it is ticked to "on" on speaker and bluetooth....
am i missing something here in the settings or anything?
Try it using Google play.
BeyondPod for example does also not work eith MusicFX

Hi!
I just got my mi5s+ which I love.
But I have a strange issue, whether I'm running a stock MIUI ROM or a AOSP/LOS ROM (Oreo):
When I'm playing any audio, I have some weird stutters/crackling randomly.
It happens both on speaker and bluetooth headphones. It happens on Apple Music/Spotify/Local media. Sometimes it even happens with notifications.
I noticed that it gets worse when I'm downloading a file in my phone or when I'm running a heavy/poorly optimized app like snapchat. I was thinking it maybe it was a bad
I haven't installed any audio mod. Tried various firmware. Kernel settings are on stock. I've tried factory reset, wiping cache
Do you have the same issue? Is there any fix? When I've done some researches I've noticed it's a common problem on xiaomi devices and I haven't found any good fix...
It's such a shame a device that powerful can't play audio properly...
I've personally only had audio stuttering if I have too much running at once. but at that point, the whole phone feels clunky.
and when I say too much, I mean to the point where the phone is hardly usable - everything is delayed.
I also mostly use google play OR the built in MIUI music app. I do have Viper4Android installed, so it could be cleaning up the crackling.
My Google Pixels microphone randomly died after some point in its lifespan, but happened recently. First i updated version to Android Q Beta 1 (and it was working all right on that version) but when i updated it to Android Q Beta 2 (microphone stopped working and whole UI experience was buggy, some apps not working, random restarts, etc...) but then i got it back on Android Pie, and it worked for few minutes into boot and died yet again... Then i installed custom ROM (Pixel Dust) with TWRP recovery and Root, but nothing of those helped, then i got it back on Android Pie via adb sideload OTA. That didn't help either... So i don't know is it the software problem (because it seems to work first few minutes after i boot it) or is it the hardware problem. I use my phone mostly for phone calls and now because microphone is dead, it lost its functionality... But speaker was working, earpiece and 3.5mm jack.. Any suggestions??
i'm having a similar problem at the moment. Since the April OTA update, phone calls stopped working. Even when using a BT headset. I tried reverting to Full Recovery Image from february, but that only helped a bit. Also, any other audio app was not able to use the speaker. With the Feb version, youtube and google music were back working, but phone calls are still not possible, causing the telephone app to freeze. I was thinking about installing some custom rom too, but that doesn't seem to do the trick. Did you try to wipe the cache in recovery?
Update
found three possible workarounds for people having the same issue, perhaps one of those helps. I'll go through them today evening.
You could try enabling the "Disable USB audio routing" in developer options and see if that works for you. It did work for me

A couple of days ago one of the CEs here pointed out to me that I needed to enable the setting for wired headphones in Google Settings > Search, Assistant & Voice > Voice > Hands Free and toggle on the ‘wired headset’ setting,

Change your launcher, for example, on nova launcher, disallow permission to microphone for google app and never let him this permission, do not use google assistant.

Maybe is a kernel error..but definitely is not a hardware problem. maybe try changing kernels. o downgrading to 7.
since none of the above tricks worked in my case, i booted TWRP to clean the caches. Didn't bring any good result. So i flashed ElementalX Kernel and now i got some kind of a better result, even if it's still weird. Everything works now except incoming calls. I can actively call other persons, use whatsapp or facebook audio calls and all is good. Only if i receive calls, still mic is muted.
I will try everything from above, and hopefully something will actually work and get my Pixel back in life. I will get you updated guys.
Thanks for the support.

None of those helped so far, i'll try flashing some kernel then...
I discovered that when i try to record with my camera video, it says "Can't record audio. Another app is using the mic." Also when i try to record audio message on Messenger app, as soon as i click on microphone icon it says some error.
Update, my sound and video won't record, both on Youtube or Instagram or any kind of video audio playback.
Update
I flashed ElementalX kernel and same stuff happened, phone calls and microphone was working for first 30 minutes then it got back to old days, not working as usual. Now i think this is hardware problem

have you tried chaging vendor image, or getting a vendor image from a working pixel?
I installed lineageos 16 without gapps and is working good for hours until installed gapps.
