Can this be installed on unrooted DAV701L?
Does your unrooted DAV-701L have B211 on it?
Probably not, since my android os 5.1.1. I guess this means I need android 6 (B211) first, right?
And since there is no B211 for the DAV-701L your question is answerd
Yes, just realised that, but many thanks for confirming

Okay that is right.you must update from android lollipop5.1 to android 6 start from b209 then b211 and th the last one is b212.first you must be on release lollipop b029 or update to it then there are multiple files on our xda site for transforming from b029 to android6 b209 or from b029 to b211 directly then from b211 to b212.
these files under our General p8max threads titled p8max update files.
Thanks for the clarification, I am not shure, if I should take all that steps, all in all I am quite satisfied with my P8max, I am just concerned about potentially missing security patches
hello, how would i go about updating once i have downloaded the files, usually you can update from a single update.app file but the files in the link provided have multiple files.
I have DAV-703L build B211 on 6.0.. Can I use the update? AND how do you update if not rooted? Thanks
Rename the .zip file to update.zip and put it on your SD card into the dload folder.
Type *#*#2846579159#*#* in the phone app and then select hota update and start it.

Hi all,
I reset my MT7 TL10 phone today. And I installed stock recovery hoping that I will get updates but it is still not updating. I think the stock recovery doesn't belong to my version. I took it from the root and unlock thread.
I shall be much thankful if someone help in this regard.

Thanks Simona Simmy. I downloaded one from Huawei site one. I extracted according to the instructions for Huawei software extractor. But unfortunately the only recognizable file is system.img. There the other files are unknown image files. I don't know which one is recovery.

I updated from Lollipop to Marshmallow using B807 and want to install the rest of the OTA updates, but now the updater app is missing the local update option.
Has anyone encountered this problem? Or knows how to install the updates some other way?
I have the Honor 6 H60-L02
Thanks!
yes... i have the same problem...
If the updates are not zip files you can try this
*#*#2846579#*#*
Project menu and select number 4 for software upgrade then sdcard upgrade
That should do it...
It works for the update.app not for zips
And if you are rooted you can replace the updater
All you have to do is get the hwOUC folder from the Android 5.1.1 you can find it in the system/app/
And replace the current one with it and set the right permissions and restart phone...then you can install zips too by doing a local update in the updater
https://mega.nz/#!FAA2RR7a!4eEBkC3c7aWMkwE2YaAe3BnKIEBd8EWbLvy-cosaXq4
I attached the updater
In case you are rooted and you want to try the second method

Any Ideas on what i'm doing wrong?
OH! Got it had to just install the HwOUC.apk as a normal app and then I could use it! Thanks for the advice!!

Sorry but it's not clear for me. I'm in the same situation, H60-L02 and damned B807 firmware. With B807 Local Update Function is missing and there are not full update (update.app) that I can install. This means that without rooting my phone I must keep the B807 all life long, hoping that a new full update will be available??? But some of the guys that work to beta release is also able to think? Local update is the first function needed in a beta release!!!
Mmm.....I think I am now on B820.
At first,my EMUI version is B810.
There is no FULL pack of B820.
All the update file for B820 I can find is [B523 to B820] and [B805 to B820]
So I downgrade to B521,then flash the B523 pack downloaded from here.
Finally I flash the update pack[B523 to B820] here
The update is successfull, but I got a strange version number.......
Also works on Honor 5x L24 US Version

After getting my phone to stock I was unable to get the next update. The option to install local update was missing and the update would freeze when installing from recovery. This was a lifesaver! Thanks!!!

First downgrade to B211. There is a guide that shows how to downgrade from EMUI 4.1 to 4.0. You can find the guide here. Once you've successfully downgraded to B211, B563 OTA should appear on your set in couple of days. I received mine immediately after downgrading to 211.
Well whatever I did messed it all up, now it just sits on the EMUI screen asking to reboot or wipe... then somehow i managed to get to Huawei eRecovery and it says "getting package info failed" so it looks like i ruined the phone... any ideas on fixing this?

Just upgrade to 211. A simple dload should do it.

How do I get it? Been trying to do it through firmware finder with no luck.
Well now that my phone only goes to fastboot, my issue is that the drivers won't install properly. I installed HiSuite, and when I go into Fastboot, it tries to install drivers and gives me: Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)... Sometimes the Android Bootloader Interface pops up in Device Manager with a ! Does anyone have the right drivers for a Mate 8? Maybe I can manually install them?
Finally got downgraded to 211. Now I just wait for the update naturally?

No way. You need MF-PV to update via dload, twrp, ect.

But I do not understand what it takes to get the OTA out of Firmware Finder and then they can not install

You can attempt to install this update using a custom recovery like TWRP. There’s a chance the installation might fail as this is marked as a beta and is only intended for select handsets.

I updated my phone using the OTA-MF version using firmware finder wifi dns update method to version 386. No issues so far.
Haven't tried the update to 388 though, as it says that the firmware has not been approved for installation.
Not approved means it is not approved by Huawei, probably in beta branch and is not tested or verified to be stable. A.K.A may contain bugs.
