So I had Android N-Ify installed on stock 6.0.1 osprey and decided I wanted to uninstall it. After uninstalling I decided to restart the device so that everything the module affected is back to stock. However, the status bar icons were affected by that and now they look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Anyone who has had this issue or knows how to bring it back to normal?
Thanks in advance!
Are you talking about the layout of the icons, or the icons themselves? The icons look the same as on my device, for the placement activate the System UI Tuner (long-press the cog for about 5 seconds until a toast pops up, the cog icon will have a little wrench next to it from now on), go to Settings - System UI Tuner, then Quick Settings, tap the 3 dot menu in the upper-right and select Reset, should be good to go.

Hey guys, whilst I realise this was probably a n00b mistake with some setting I probably inadvertently changed, but this morning my icons have disappeared at the top right:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
This is from my Today screen. If I go into another application and click where the icons should be then they appear, and if I go back to the today screen, they are there, but as soon as I click the start button, they disappear again. If I click where the icon should be, then whatever should happen normally happens (if I were to click the sound icon, the volume would appear).
As you can imagine, this will get annoying, quickly! Any thoughts on what could be causing this? The only thing I've installed today is the Advanced Config tool.
Any help appreciated.
I had this same problem, but I think I figured it out.
I'm running wkTask / wkTaskLauncher. On the today screen there is a blank space where the 'ok' or 'x' would be when a program is open. press and hold in that blank space, and a menu will pop up. Go to Preferences -> General1. Check the 4th checkbox, "Hide task list when there are no tasks".
That got rid of my half icons.
I have the same problem on my asus P535. using wkTask too. but your solution does not work for me. no effect after checking that 4th option. no change after closing wkTask too.
it suddenly appeared after running scummVM.
any other idea?
thx
On such a large screen, it is difficult to reach for the notification bar at top. Task switchers like wave launcher and swipepad can be used to set a button in them to call notification bar, but I'm unable to find such an app. (I got home and lock set this way though).
Anyone knows an app that toggles the notification?
I don't know of such an app, but in GO Launcher EX and some other launchers you can set it up so the notification bar drops down when you swipe down anywhere on a home screen. I've been using this on all my Androids and I love it because like you say, it's hard to reach the bar sometimes. If I try a new launcher and it doesn't support this I uninstall it immediately.

I know launchers can do it, but that is when you are at home screen.
However, with swipepad/wave launcher, a shortcut can be assigned to app for notification toggle. I have done that for home and lock buttons, refer to screenshot.

Thanks. Swipepad is now complete, with lock, home, notification and app drawer.
I'm stretching it but is there any way to clear notifications from anywhere other than the notification bar?
One more app: status bar expander
(better icon that hello status bar)

As you can see in the screenshot, after modifying the DPI to something more realistic and not comedic, the UI adjusted perfect except it didn't center the all apps icon above the home button. I'm wondering how this could be fixed through maybe a mod or something.
I do not want a new launcher that doesn't have Google Search built in. Its not the same stock experience. Any idea what I should do?

Depends what you are trying to do. Are you trying to get more docked icons at the bottom, or the main grid on the launcher. Basically, what I did is I changed my DPI to 439 (wanted 445, but notifications get cut off in the pulldown bar). This is ideal for me and gives me an app drawer grid of 5x6. However, the launcher grid stayed the same, so I used the Launcher Tweaks settings in Gravity Box to customize the launcher grid to 5x5. Now, I still only have 4 apps in the dock tray on the bottom (plus the app drawer icon in the middle), but I do have a 5x5 grid on the homescreen. It looks like it came from the factory this way.
Just got the Android L preview and thought I'd share some screenshots
If you want a screenshot of a certain screen, just ask
I got the image on an emulator as i don't have a Nexus, shouldn't make a difference though
Ok so the boot animation is the same..this might be because it's a preview because i was expecting the new Android logo
Home screen icons are still the same, probably for the same reason
This is notification centre, opened by swiping down on the statusbar
I have no notifications though...

The navigation bar has been made transparent

I will add more later
Thanks for this review and screenshots! :good:
What's new in Security tab? KNOX feature inside?
Yes it's awesome. I'm using it to type this. The animations are great and system is running extremely smooth on my Nexus 5.
Can't wait for the full release.
My tablet is Samsung Tab S7 FE with Android 12 and One UI version 4.1.1. After last update the desktop changed.
Before the icons at the bottom: recent apps, home and back, were in the middle of screen. Now they are on the right side of the bottom line, which is very annoying: you very often accidiently touch those icons.
I tried to move the position of those icons by pressing long - no success.
I don't want to use Nova Laucher or similar apps, so any possibilities to move those icons back to center of bottom line?

you need to disable the task bar from settings

You can change the position. You have a choice of left, center, or right.
Thank you, now it works!
