It just gets going and AppCrashes. The app link indicates this is for a specific device (gt540). Have you actually used this on LG999 today?

I did. I can confirm that this method works as I have working Gingerbread on my G2x now.

I posted everything I experienced. I must thank my lucky stars because it seems that I'm the only one who "unbricked" using this method.

Worked for me too (and a number of others in the thread above. I was using XP in a VMware Fusion VM on a mac.
This does work!!!
Only with Windows XP though... I have tried on Windows 7 and Windows Vista and only XP works... I was locked up I think due to Windows 7 and the updater, it during the update process wanted to install drivers I saw then lost connection.
I have since run this program under the general (CDMA and DIAG) and I will confirm it works...
Anyone in the Milwaukee area I will fix your phone for free, PM me and tomorrow after/during work I will pick up your phone and have it for you ready on Saturday(unless demand is crazy)
But 2 things - use XP and this method and you will have GB on your phone !!!!
This for sure will fix it?

i messed around with this app and successfully updated my once updated by lg software using vista and already reverted to root stock froyo g2x.
*****assuming you followed readme instructions in the KDZ_FW_UPD_EN zip and downloaded the v21E_00.kdz(i cant comfirm whether this is needed or not so try it without and see if you cant confirm for us!).
open the KDZ_FW_UPD_EN app, leave selections "CDMA" and "DIAG" in the upper portion on default
click "Read Phone Information" at the bottom, click "Upgrade Start"
this brought me back to unrooted 2.3.3 gingerbread. i should have titaniumed before doing because all apps would still be there but i was breaking my head open trying to figure this out and had factory reset a bunch of times.
i hope this helps some of you

There is a nvflash method that formats all the partitions and flashes the rom over. Its the only thing that worked for me. It was posted in another thread and I think I reposted it also.

BTW, to the user on Vista. You should never flash any device on Vista. Vista is crap and flashing usually fails due to comm errors and you can irreversibly brick your device. Flashing should only be done on XP with SP or Win 7.
Alright guys i was having Trouble rooting and i couldnt find a way or anything but with this it was easy 1 2 3 process i was able to root and everything... finally but i thought i would share for anyone who is having trouble with the superclick or any other process but heres how i did it.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Download zimage-root.tar to computer.
2. Download zimage.tar to computer.
3. Download ODIN to computer and unzip it.
4. You should have a working USB connection between computer and phone. If not, install Samsung USB drivers:
Download Samsung Drivers for 32-Bit Windows
Download Samsung Drivers for 64-Bit Windows
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Turn off the phone completely. Remove the battery and place it again.
2. Reboot the phone into ‘Downloading’ mode by pressing ‘VOLUME DOWN, HOME and POWER buttons simultaneously for few seconds until you see a yellow triangle with ‘Downloading’ message on the phone.
3. Run the ODIN exe.
4. Connect the phone to computer via USB cable.
5. You should now see yellow COM box. This means all USB connections are OK, and you are ready to go. If it is not so, reinstall the USB drivers again.
ODIN_COM
6. Click ‘PDA’ button and select the ‘zimage-root.tar’ file that you downloaded earlier.
7. Make sure the ODIN options are same as below.
8. Click ‘Start’ and wait until it is completed.
9. After the process is complete, the phone will reboot and go into a bootloop. Disconnect the USB connection now.
10. Turn off the phone and replace the battery.
11. Get into ‘Download’ mode again as specified in step (2).
12. Connect the phone to computer again and run the ODIN again.
13. Click ‘PDA’ button and choose the ‘zimage.tar’ file.
14. Click ‘Start’ and wait for the process to finish. You will get ‘PASS’ in ODIN.

yes I have successfully to rooting lg E435, but I think it was it's useless .. even with root, apps still can not be moved to the sdcard though with link2sd or app2sd

to root : change the original rom with v10c with kdz tool, install framaroot 1.4.2

OH MAN THANKS!!! Finally, did you unlocked the bootloader to change the ROM with a new one? Or the tool just takes care of it? I think I'll have to find a way to install in the SD card and let you know if I found anything.

DUDE! thanks for the help, I've finally rooted it, I'm gonna find some great apps and find a way to what you are looking because I'll be needing that too.
Even I have this device and my software version is already v10c and framearoot doesn't work for me. So should I flash it with KDZ to make it rootable or the firmware for which the links are given is something special ? I belong to a different country , So should I flash with the firmware meant for my region or the one given in the links here ?

Are you sure you followed the instructions including the "flashing the ROM" part? check if you have the correct version.
If you have followed, I think this will be a carrier related issue,

After install framaroot you have to run it and choose Gandalf, then reset your phone

Hi. I bought HTC One M8 for Windows mobile (T-Mobile US version) running WP 8.1 OS few days ago. Whenever I try to log into Microsoft account I get error code 0xFFFFFE70 saying 'We weren't able to activate your phone' with an advice to contact Microsoft support regarding error.
I have searched on-line for this error and have tried everything advised including correcting system date/time settings, soft/hard reset of phone, even reformatting the stock firmware with WDRT (Windows Device Recovery Tool) and also HTC custom tool. Nothing seems to resolve this error so far. Due to this I am unable to use windows store to download apps or log into my one drive on phone etc as each one of these requires Microsoft account login.
I was thinking maybe anyone can help me by providing me with latest windows 10 preview RUU for HTC M8 for windows (T-Mobile). If you installed it on your M8 via WDRT (Windows Device Recovery Tool) then you can copy it from C:\ProgramData\HTC\Packages\Products (default directory for WDRT). Maybe Windows 10 preview would solve my problem.

I have finally managed to resolve the issue via manually pushing update cabs (first 14203-14219 and then 14219-10586.11) via 'iutool' as described here.
In this case as I was unable to install and run Windows Insider app via MS Store or Sideload it (as it required MS account login) I went straight to pushing cabs via iutool without any prior modification via Windows Insider app as mentioned in thread and it worked. After that mobile got updated to 10585.164 build and now its working perfectly.

1 - How did you sideload/install the Microsoft Insider app without being able to log into a Microsoft account?
2 - Coming from 8.10.14203.306, would I just install the 2 files ( 14203-14219 and then 14219-10586.11)?

No need to install Insider app. Just run following commands (Modify depending on your system locations) via Command Prompt in Admin mode (Windows key + X > Command Prompt (Admin) )
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Phone Kits\8.1\Tools\bin\i386\
to check whether device connected or not
iutool -l
to transfer cabs (located in c:\cabs)
iutool -v -p c:\cabs
(Install cabs in 2 steps. First from 14203-14219 and let phone update complete. Then delete these cabs from c:\cabs and paste 14219-10586.11 cabs in c:\cabs and repeat same steps and let the phone update.)

When I downloaded the file from the link on the iutool page you referenced, it downloads as a .txt file. Does it matter if I'm sending that file as a .txt to the phone or does it have to be converted to a .cab?

Brother these text files contain download links for cab files. Open these links one by one or simply copy and download all together via free download manager (portable edition here)
Cab files downloaded from both text file links are about cumulatively 788mb (51 cab files of about 52.8 mb for 14203 to 14219 and then 47 cab files of about 735mb for 14219 to 10586.11 update.)
Thanks again for the help and clarification. I do though have another question about installing the .cabs. After the first 8 or so cabs I installed, the OS is updated to 14219.341. Am I able to skip the rest of the cabs in link 1 and start installing cabs from link 2? I ask because when I install the 13th cab from link 1, the phone reboots but instead of the white HTC Not For Resale screen, I get a black backlit screen and unable to even shut the phone down with the power button. I've had to reset it using RUU and start over from scratch.
Edit 5/7/2016: No need for reply. I was making this harder than it actually was. Once I stopped being dumb about it, I managed to get the phone fully updated and it's running perfectly now in Windows 10. Thanks for all your help in pointing me towards the solution.
I restored my 6045i phone via mobile Q and lost fastboot because it went straight to LP this time. I am trying to use the Eluga Switch firmware restore but it will not connect. I have tried XP and windows 7 machines with no luck. Can anyone provide tips or guidance?

Pretty sure for the eluga software you DO have to be in download mode. Haven't used it yet so can't confirm 100%. I know the comments I saw said it looks for a com port and I think that's what download mode does.
I finally got this to work. I had to remove some android USB drivers and let the tool reinstall its own drivers. I also had the phone off, but the tool put it in download mode on its own. So now now I have fastboot commands again and was able to flash TWRP. [emoji1]

You can tell exactly the steps to do after downloading the complete folder.
Inside I find a .exe and txt saying to download some things. Can you tell me what exactly thanks.

Just run as Administrator the exe file and wait to load data and then the program will open ...Put your device to download mode..Connect to Pc and the program will recognize and PRESS "Download"

As I put in download mode?
But the program proceeds to download from the internet or is included in the file that I downloaded? that is, I mean need the internet connection?

No...The file is included in Program
