I have been trying to get wireless charging working on my new Google Pixel. It seems the following combo is a bust...
Fone Salesman UniQi (receiver) - Thin Qi Wireless Charging Receiver for USB Type C phones such as Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, 5X, HTC 10, LG G5, G5 SE, OnePlus 2, 3 (Type-C, USB-C)
http://a.co/cIeimkt
Yootech T500PB (pad) - Wireless Charger,Yootech Qi Wireless Charging Pad for Galaxy S7,Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6,Note 5 ,S6 Edge+,S6 Edge, Nexus 4/5/6 and All Qi-Enabled Devices
http://a.co/8tTHQvg
Samsung EP-PG920IBUGUS (pad) - Samsung EP-PG920IBUGUS Wireless Charging Pad with 2A Wall Charger- Black Sapphire
http://a.co/5PH84Nf
Kroma 5825856 (pad) - Wireless Charger, Kroma Wireless Charging Pad for Galaxy S7,Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6,Note 5 ,S6 Edge+,S6 Edge, Nexus 4/5/6 and All Qi-Enabled Devices
http://a.co/7zBruMl
I have tried the UniQi receiver with all three charging pads listed above with very little success. It does show on my phone that it is charging but the phone never increases in stored charge. For example, went to bed last night with phone at 22% and woke up to a 1% battery life.
Any ideas what combo of Qi receiver and Qi wireless charger that will work with the new Google Pixel XL?
Supposedly this one works according to the Amazon reviews. Very interested in this as well as I plan on getting an XL soon.

Actually, looking at that Amazon listing (I checked it out before too) it shows the following reviews (both critical and not). The thing that concerns me is the ones that are not critical mostly just talk about how they are happy to have wireless charging. Those reviews never go into detail on it actually working or not like the critical reviews do...
1.0 out of 5 stars - Doesn't charge, only maintains battery level.
By: JayZeeon - December 1, 2016
Does not charge my Pixel XL with either of the charging pads I own. It does show charging on my phone when I place it on the charging pad, but the battery level maintains it's level (doesn't decrease or increase), so it is trickling in a charge, just not enough to increase the battery charge over time.

5.0 out of 5 stars - I'm so happy to have found this solution for my Pixel XL!
By: Sojourneron - November 30, 2016

Only had this for a couple days now, but it's been solid so far. I've been diggin' my new Pixel XL, except for the fact that it doesn't have wireless charging. I have wireless charging pads in so many places because my phones have had them for years now. It sucked having to go back to plugs, even if they do offer rapid charging (this wireless solution does not). I'm so happy to have found this solution!

Charged fairly quickly considering it is not charging under 'fast-charge'. Tucked behind a thing hard snap on case to my Pixel XL and is hardly noticeable.

Where the hell is the "Like" button on these damn forums!
This "good" icon does not do the thumb up justice.
:good:
The thing that caught my attention is the questions. One asked if it covered fingerprint scanner and the answer was yes, partially. This seems like a non-starter for me if it covers scanner.

Yea, that's not a big deal at all. By default the design has a long power ribbon. You can bend/fold the ribbon to make it the size you need it to be with no issues.
In my case the one I bought from fonesalesman (which so far has been a BAD experience) was sized almost perfect for my XL. After putting on my back shell case only a tiny little bit (the size was so tiny it was about the thickness of a credit card) was exposed (nothing actually covered the scanner at all).
Interesting Development on this charging pad... As of a couple weeks ago it no longer charges my Pixel XL if it is powered on. It will charge it if I turn off the phone. My USB charging doc has a Amp meter on it & while the phone is on I have to adjust very carefully where I place the phone to get .5 A to show. No Charging icon will appear. Without much care of placement it will show around .3A. While off both figures will double to around .6A & 1.0A. I have another pad on order just in case it is the issue, but has anyone else suddenly seen an issue with their Qi solution?

For all who are looking for a good wireless charger, I found this on ebay. There are currently 13 active listings, and the final price including shipping comes to nearly USD 70. It is apparently from Japan, and both economic and expedited shipping options are available. [ Lowest cost incl. expedited shipping I found was 73$ ]
It has the feature of automatically sensing where your device is so that there is no "no-charging even though placed on mat" issue that some charges are having.
Here are a few youtube videos of the charger :
Unboxing Panasonic TM101
Nexus 4 on the charger
Demonstration of the auto-sensing feature
Apparently, the device is available for a cheaper rate from Amazon Japan, which ships only within Japan for 40$ [ compared to 50-55 USD in ebay w/o shipping].

I was looking at these today on ebay. Looks nice and was wondering if it could charge two devices, but because the charging coil moves, it looks like it only charges only one device. But it does take a bit of real estate on ones desk or nightstand, but looks cool! The little orb that follows the phone to charge is nice! Those dag gone Japanese know how to market a product! LOL

Yeah, unfortunately doesn't charge two devices simultaneously. I like the looks, but it does occupy a lot of volume. Not sure whether I should wait for the official one, which would be quite smaller and shouldn't face the issues other chargers are having.
EDIT : Have updated my post with that info, to make it clear, for those who don't watch the video.
I have one of these by my bed and it works very well. Looks good to boot.
Oh hell, might as well order this too. $69 shipped via snail mail. This thing just looks too cool.

Extremely likely knowing Google. But still I don't want to be stuck in a situation where they announce it immediately after receiving my brand new charger, at say 80$. ( google charger's price). It's what happened to me with the bumper, bought so many cases for it, that I decided to cancel the last one (which I had ordered an hour back before the bumpers came back online)

It can't do two at simultaneously, but if you put two devices on it will charge one, then the coil will move and charge the other.

Unberrivable!!!!!!!
I have this charger too. I love that I can just set the phone anywhere and it charges. It even works through my TPU case.
The only downside is that when the battery is fully charged, it stops charging. That means at night it charges right away, and then when I go to get it in the morning it's down to ~85%. It wouldn't be such a big deal if the Google Now location stuff didn't suck so much juice during the night.

Just to clarify , that means it will charge in effect both devices placed on the charger? How frequently does the coil move? In effect, the charging speed is reduced to half, right? [though the amount of charge transferred in total probably remains the same].
Also, does the N4 become hot while charging?
Since i cant buy the cool Panasonic Smartphones from Japan to use here on T-mobile, I'll buy this!
Where is this manufactured? Just curious on it...hopefully not China..

Or do it with a NFC tag?
I was searching through amazon today and found this qi charger that is exactly the same as the Metrans wireless charging puck found here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Metrans...LG-Nexus-4-E960-NOKIA-Lumia-920-/230947777125
I looked through the video and photos and they both say air box on the bottom. They are exactly the same in terms of design and quality even though this is listed as GMYLE for some reason. Its almost $20 cheaper. Here is the link on amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Generation-Pr...e=UTF8&qid=1369339242&sr=8-1&keywords=metrans.
When I bought it there was 7 left, now there are only 6 left. Its $37.49 + $4.49 shipping was is a great deal instead of buying a cheap plastic, generic one.
only difference I notice is the status led. the metrans is white. I've never seen it green or red during charging.

I'm debating on whether or not to buy it. I've read the thread and the review from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153418 and I think it's awesome but have always shied away because of the price + availability in the USA. I don't have any excuse now... so I might buy it. I love the auto-off feature when it gets hot but at the same I feel like the phone staying at high temperature for an extended period of time while it charges may not be great for the long term.
EDIT: Did some research on GMYLE and found their official website with the Metrans MWT02 product listing here: http://www.gmyle.com/collections/ba...cy-charger-with-1000ma-current-output-us-plug
Their website looks pretty cool.. of coarse that doesn't mean that their selling original products but it's more likely that they are.
EDIT 2: I noticed on their website it says that Input:
DC 5V / 1.2A
Output: 5V / 1A
while the eBay and the review from the thread listed above states that it should be
Input 5V / 2A
Output: 5V / 1A
OK EDIT 3: So I tried to email them from the address on their website which says [email protected]. But when I look at the mailto it says [email protected] lol. I don't know why it says Clever Gadgets UK when the company is located in California. I don't know how much I trust this retailer.
Well if you have access to ordering from Verizon in the US I would suggest getting the LG WCP-300 instead since with tax and free shipping it came to $42. The Amazon price is currently at $45.49+$4.49 shipping. I love the LG haven't dealt with the metrans one yet though.

I bought the Amazon one from GMYLE even after all the research I did. I'll let you know how that one goes. The only reason I decided to get Amazon over ahappydeal is because at least I can trust Amazon to back me up in the event that they send me a fake.
I'll post in the thread when I get it/test it.
Ok guys, I got my charger from the Amazon listing. It's legit, no mix-ups and knockoffs here. It's the same box and packaging from the eBay listing (Air Box) and also shows a picture of the Nexus 4 on the side of the box. It's got this super cool pulsating white light when the phone is charging (not the green/red that the Amazon photo depicts) which is awesome. Like the Macbook Pro light if you have ever seen them. You can see the light in the second picture as well.
It works as advertised, charges when you place it on it. I'm still experimenting with it but I think it looks a lot cooler than the LG one. I'm still experimenting with the temperature, it's at 41 degrees celsius right now (It's like almost 100 degrees ferinheight where I'm at right now (no AC just ceiling fan) so that may have a little to do with the temperature.
Would also like to note that the Amazon listing has the incorrect amp on the power supply. It's actually 2A (like it's supposed to be). Picture included below.

I'm curious, do you feel comfortable charging the phone overnight even though it gets super hot? Have you noticed anything odd going on with the battery ever since you started charging over night? I don't use the charger that much because it gets way too hot for it to be good for the phone.
It is a bit hot but nothing odd going on...it stops charging once it hits 100...it then cools down a little bit...then when it goes lower again it just pulse charges

You say that you feel the Metrans "is a more premium looking, overall better charger" but you "don't use the charger that much because it gets way too hot for it to be good for the phone"
Are you saying that you think looks are more important than functionality? Or are you referring to a different charger in the second post?
Found another one while surfing ebay. Appears to be a knock-off of the LG but i dont think its the Metrans one. $21 with shipping. Looks like it comes with a USB cable but not with the power adapter.

I bought one (white + orange) and have been using it over the past week
Looks great, feels solid and well made, and comes in proper retail packaging! You are correct, it doesn't come with a power adapter, just two micro USB leads (one long and one short) to use with your own. I'm using a 2.1A supply and it charges the phone from empty in about the same time as AC charging (2.5 hours). LED on the front is green when powered up and goes blue when a phone is placed on it for charging. Putting the Nexus 4 on charge is easy as it doesn't seem to be that fussy about placement, just plonk it down just off centre (towards the lower half where I'm guessing the phones receiver must be). The pad is not much wider than the phone itself so there's very little room to get it wrong!
The coloured ring around the top not only looks good, but its made of a tacky rubbery material, so the Nexus 4 doesn't slide about once you place it down (this is the reason I chose to go for this over the LG charger)
So far, no complaints at all! I didn't see the point of wireless charging before using it, I just bought it to have a play and to see how the tech works but I'm now a convert - I've been that impressed by this charger I've just ordered another :good:
Now only $9.15 (including shipping). look forward to some reviews.
edit. my mistake, $9.15 was the price for the receiver only (for those that need one).
It was 9.15 USD initially but turned 22.97 USD immediately after I click None at the receiver type box.
i just bought one hope it works well

They mention this is a 2nd generation qi charger.. might just be marketing bull****. They mention it has a built in temperature sensor and will react when your phone gets too hot. I just ordered one in black with a green ring(for android), we'll see how it does
Anyone know if this will fit in the LG smart fit2 cradle? They seem to be a similar size.

can you grab the app "currentwidget" and see what the live charging rate is? I have the WCP-300, as well as the orb, and they charge at around 575-600mA using a 1.8A stock power adapter.

Actually on looking through the currentwidget logs, with the screen off it seems to charge at a much higher rate, 750-770mA.

Which according to google they are the exact same diameter, and the ebay one is slightly thinner. (.385" vs 05")
cheap, looks nice, good reviews --- just ordered two
Does anyone who has bought this have a charging current log for it?
Also, after it finishes charging, and starts to discharge, does it start charging again to keep it topped up while on the charger?
Thanks!
I ordered one on eBay. I think i found is name on dx.com. it The mikasso T-200

I held off on ordering it because I didn't even have my n4 yet and I would also like to know if it stops charging and starts again to keep it topped up.

I'll order one once it goes <$20
I like it, but it's not like I need it.
I just ordered one. Will the phone still charge if I switch it off?
And what am I meant to use as the power supply, the charger that comes with the N4?

I am lovin' this Choetech desk charger. Choetech had emailed me after seeing me post here on XDA, offering me a 70% off discount code in order for me to review it objectively. I would never be extra favorable about an object because I received it for free or at a discount. If it sucks I will say so, and why.
Contents: Comes with the unit itself, a single well made Choetech USB cable (note: not USB-C), a very short power cable, and a stand that it sits in to stand upright.
Build Quality: Seems fairly well made, feels nice to the touch. The back has an interesting texture that's different than the rest of the body. It's apparently fireproof. 5/5
Ports: They slide in and out well, they don't feel cheap or fragile. 5/5
Packaging: Comes in a thin cardboard box, with a shiny cardboard cover. Not too bad. Not great. There are 2 twist ties and a power plug plastic cover left over (going in the trash). These items serve no purpose other than to signify the object is in "new retail condition". I would prefer even more eco friendly packaging, like the company Ringke uses, using only a toxic free, biodegradable plastic bag instead. I know it's not as "attractive" but environmental responsibility is more important in 2016, especially for small electronics that sell thousands and thousands of units. Doing okay here, definitely room for improvement. 3/5
Function: I charged my LG G5 with a USB-C cable, an extra LG G5 battery, my Galaxy S5 with it's cable, my USB chargeable vaporizer pen battery, and an external battery pack. Charges fast and had no issues. Everything works and works well. 5/5
Conclusion: Charges everything well, no issues with it. Power cord could be longer was my only criticism so far. I am happy with this product. Overall 4/5
Disclaimer: "I received this product for free (or at a promotional discount) in exchange for my honest review".
I am currently using this charger all the time and if anything occurs to change my opinion of it I will update the review.

Loving it.
So before i received my Choetech 50W 6 port QC3 charger I was using a Aukey 5 port charger. When i opened the Choetech charger i was slightly dissapointed that it didn't have that hefty feel that the Aukey has, but that dissappointment was quickly set aside and I realized that the size and feel was perfect. I now prefer the Choetech charger to the Aukey.
Here are a few things that swayed me:
1. it comes with a usb cable: I can not tell you how nice that is. its not something i would take points off for, but it make it a complete package ( yes, I know we all have like 10000 of them, but we can always use more)
2. it actually stands up, with the included stand i had no trouble getting the charger to stand on its side. This historically has been an issue with chargers i have seen like this as the power cable "tilts" the charger back and it never really wants to sit up. Which is why initially i was hoping for a "heftier" product. but the Choetech charger has no trouble actually staying on it's side and in place without the power cable dictating it's orientation.
3. The QC charging works well, it chooses the appropriate charging mode for all of my devices, QC2 for my LG G4, and S6, QC3 for my LG G5 and just regular charging for my battery dock. It's nice when a thing does what it says it will do
4. The indicator light: Nice feature , as i never know if my Aukey is working. The Choetech charger has a nice light that is not obnoxious. I currently have it on my night stand and its not too bright that it keeps me awake.
5. 6 ports of awesome- Nice to be able to charge all my devices.
I agree with the OP: basically this thing is a 5/5, It does what it says, and some nice thoughts were put into the design. It surpasses the current charger I was using, and handles everything i have thrown at it.
I'm not going to post pictures here as the OP did a great job with his, but if you have any questions, or what to see a specific view let me know.

Disclaimer: I did receive this at a discount for reviewing the product, but that has in no way swayed my thoughts.
I got the Cheotech 6-port station as well, and I can objectively say, pound for pound, the charging solution I truly needed. Just like @kchannel9 said, the charging cable should be longer, because it limits the accessibility. That's of course outweighed by the sheer ease this station has brought. Here are some benefits I've found in it:
1) It has 6-ports, two of which have Quick Charge 3.0
I have two G5s, S7, and two iPhone 6s Plus', so I have ports for all of them
2) Its compact, so I can put it the corner of my desk, and the kids don't see it, so no tampering
3) Powerful but safe. I am an adjuster, so I hear plenty of horror stories about fire losses involving charging devices. This station has been plugged in since purchase and it hasn't even gotten at least warm. That's relieving to me.

Yes! The same thing happened to me! I was asked to review it as well which was a first on Amazon for me. And I love the thing!
I've been wanting a device like this for a while but couldn't find one that didn't seem to have "issues". While I've not been able to test the quick charge 3.0 I've charged multiplier devices and tested it with my USB voltage/amperage tester. It was charging my windows tablet and my OPO together at the same time, and here's my favorite thing... It doesn't get hot! Honestly it barely gets warm. Awesome. It's built very solid feeling, like strong good quality plastic, doesn't feel like crap.
It also feels like the back of the 2nd gen Nexus 7 but even smoother, which is fun to touch
I highly recommend this thing! Had it... A week now I think with zero issues
I received this item at a discount as well and am very impressed with it. It charges all of my devices just as quickly as my stock chargers without tying up all my outlets, so I love it and the convenience it offers. I'd never heard of Choetech before, but they've earned a lifetime customer.

This is the device I am using now to charge all my devices, Lg G5, S7 Edge, 2 ipads and kids tablet, here is what I like about this multicharging unit:
*
·*********Really fast in charging the LG G5 and S7 with almost same speed as the original OEM chargers if not slightly faster.
·*********No overheating in either the charger nor the devices even when charging all devices together.
·*********It is my favorable travel charger (All in one) in a single gadget.
·*********Size is good.
·*********Power cable is ok for home use as my setup is near the plug, yet in travelling needs a longer cable.
I received it for a discounted rate to review, it’s not my first item from Choetech brand, I had a wireless charging pad before for my Lg G3 and doing very well till now.

I received this desk charger a few weeks ago and I must say it is very good quality product I use every day. The product was packaged very nicely with a power cable and a micro USB cable. This is top notch built and just speaks how premium Choetech quality is. I used all ports and they all properly power all my devices. Haven't had any issues with any of the USB ports.
I'm seeing some on Amazon with super suspect reviews. Like, one of them has 99% 5-star reviews. Come on, dude...
Can y'all share some LEGIT portable wireless chargers? Preferably some with REAL fast charging.
I have ordered this one.,
QI wireless charger, 20000mAh, price around 35 US$.
Can tell you more in a couple of days, should I get in the next days (has unfortunately around 4 weeks delivery time).

got it now. Works more as OK for this price. Can charge also if the device is in the cover. The HW looks professional. QI charging with stand works only if you put the phone horizontal on the stand , but this is ok. Think was a good deal. Shippment needs 3 weeks.
After some weeks using I can say it was a very good deal. Works perfect with my Note 9 on travel. I can really highly recommend this QI charger. Use it on my business trips including powerpoint presentations in combination with an little HDMI adapter and on the evening to view Netflix videos in the hotel.
I don't want miss it anymore...
I've got to get that!
I think using the descriptor “best” is relative. What may work for one may not work for another.
Take this product:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077QRXLF6/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
10000mah battery pack, usb 3 ports, qi standard. Display shows exact charge numerically. Even shows the voltage coming in and voltage going out of the ports and what the qi is sending out.
There is a led ring that shows light white when charging and dark blue when charged.
I like these so much I bought 3 for the 3 notes i have.
EDIT: does charge them with the samsung military grade case for the note 9 series as seen in the photos (may be hard to see the actual case but both units have the case on )
They look pretty cool. The light looks a little too bright though? Also, the top surface looks quite slippery?

Does look cool, I like the bright light, but I'd definitely want it to be optional, you wouldn't want that next to your bed when trying to sleep haha.
And yeah that super smooth surface does look like the phone would easily slide off, although it would be negated by a case that had some grip.
Not sure what happened, might just be a temporary thing, but it's currently unavailable?

That’s why i said not one product can be “best”.
I’m sure this is not designed to sit next to your bed at night. Its mostly aimed at people on the go /traveling.
The light ring is not bright. In a darkened room it will be noticeable, sure.
The top surface has plastic (shipping plastic). You can remove this plastic overlay as you see fit
Ive had these for about 3 weeks. I have used them 2-3 times per week (just to test on the charge times) and am very happy with the product price point and features.
You can also charge the product up whilst charging a qi enabled device (pass thru charging)
Does anyone make a car phone cradle holder with inbuilt wireless charger?
Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk
Lots of people do wireless charging cradles for cars - I have an iOttie, two QiFulls and (my favourite - so good that I bought 3 of them), Samsung's own one.

Of course you are right, but for me personally is size and power (20000mah) decisive. And some small things like the vertical stand, the non slippery surface and the size (like the phone itself) seem to be thought-out....

^^^ thats why there are more options out there because not everyone has the same feature requests. I don’t particualry like portable upright chargers and the fact I have 3 of these means the 10 000mAh X3 (30000mAh? ) wlli be plenty. And if they are not, i have two portable power banks.
The product i listed here is just another option in the mix... not trying to steal thunder away from any one product..

The last thing I needed was yet another power bank (I have a couple of really hefty one - 26,800 mAh from Zendure and 30,000 mAh from iMuto - as well as a whole raft of smaller ones given away free at various trade shows), but none of them do wireless so I had to get one of these as well.
Ordered it on amazon.de and it arrived here in the UK in a couple of days. Initial impressions are favourable. It charges my Note 9 even in its Spigen Tough Armor case, and I like the ability to have the phone at an angle. It also seems to do passthrough (i.e. wireless charge the Note 9 while also being charged itself).
There's a USB-C socket for input (haven't tested whether it can also be used as an output) as well as MicroUSB in and 2 x USB A outputs.
yes, is no bad

Well, getting bogged down with semantics is a waste of time. I think most of us generally agree that when we say "best" we're implying that the product performs as expected and that it suits most of our needs/wants.
That charging pad you shared looks promising but it sucks that it's no longer available on Amazon. I hope more OEMs jump into this portable wireless charging game. We need more options, that's for sure.

I feel you on this. I'm down to two right now. One big one with enough amps to charge my laptop quick enough and a smaller Anker one for everything else. I want to replace the Anker one with a wireless one. Less cables to carry around.
