Hello all
I'm was impatient today and wanted to install nougat firmware on my nordic xperia xz but i came across an error that I wanted to discuss with you guys.
Let me explain:
I've used XperiFirm to download F8331_Customized AU_1305-1859_39.2.A.0.327_R2C. Firmware has been downloaded successfully and files have been unpacked automatically.
Then I used the Flashtool to create ftf ( had to use CREATE instead of FILESET decrypt) which also went fine and with out issues.
Then I went further to flash the device (used simulate just incase) and almost at the end it produced error that looks like this:
01/017/2016 19:17:12 - INFO - Checking header
01/017/2016 19:17:12 - INFO - Flashing data
01/017/2016 19:17:12 - INFO - Processing ssd.sin

01/017/2016 19:17:12 - ERROR - Error flashing. Aborted
01/017/2016 19:17:12 - INFO - Flashing finished.
01/017/2016 19:17:12 - INFO - Please unplug and start your phone
I tried several times just to be safe that I am doing it the right way and same error came back every time.
So my question is did you guys came across this error before and if so what is solution for this ?
Thanks
As been said around the forum, Flashtool does NOT support Android 7.0 yet so the only way for you to get 7.0 rigth now is to flash to a previous 6.0.1 from a region that has 7.0 on OTA

Any help would be awesome.
I think your log speaks for itself... By the first ERROR, it says.... Drivers....
So I guess you do not have the correct drivers installed before you flashed.

1-Flash latest version Vodafone ROM.
2- Turn on your phone, get a file explorer+framaroot.
3-Reboot into flashmode, and flash ONLY the OLD Kernel.
4-Turn on your phone, open Framaroot, click Gandalf Exploit(If it doesn't work at the first try, close program, and do it again, it's a known issue).
5- Turn off phone, boot to Flashmode and Flash NEW Kernal ONLY.
6-Install Root Uninstaller from Google Play and Uninstall the Vodafone Bloatware if you don't want it.
Note: I'd advise flashing the NEW Kernal after the root process, cos the OLD Kernal won't let you turn WI-FI on(it didn't for me at least, so I had to keep flashing and reflashing stuff)
This took me around 2 hours to figure out because of the Flashboot only error, which made flashboot keep disconecting and reconnecting.
If anyone needs a more clearer and straigh forward step-by-step, I'd be glad to do one.
Thanks to the OP for this!
Working great so far!

I received a prototype 6653 and I was told that I will not be able to install latest firmware or Android 5.0 on it. Is there a way to turn it into a normal working Sony Xperia Z3?
Try rooting it and then flash international D6653 ROM using flashtool. Do make a backup just in case things get ugly.

Why root? You do not need to do that in order to flash a FTF
I suggest the OP just flashes a FTF for the correct device type he has. No need for root.

Hmm well so that he can make a proper backup..including the DRM keys. After that he can go on flashing at will.

You can backup apps via many non root methods. there is no need to backup DRM keys unless you unlock the bootloader, so no need for that either.
Yes, it is advisable to root before doing anything, but in order to root you have to flash an older firmware first with a full wipe.... so what exactly will you be backing up? Nothing that he has currently set up now...

Totally agree with you bro. He is already on older firmware (the prototype one). Since D6653 is the International variant of the Z3, as far as I know, you can flash international Z3 ROM. But since his device is a prototype and not the retail variant, having a backup (of the prototype thingy) will save him if something goes horribly wrong.
So in conclusion what I should do is:
1. Make a backup of my Xperia Z3 prototype firmware
2. Root my Xperia Z3
3. Install Xperia Z3 international firmware
Is this all?
Yup thats pretty much it...follow the below thread...its for the Z Ultra but you can gather some useful info from it....

Thank you brother.

still can't flash anything at all!
Just exclude "bootbundle" from flashing. When you choosing files to flash, there is some checkboxes. Find "BOOTBUNDLE", and choose it.
This way phone is flashing normally.
OK i forgot to bundle the firmware thats why it doesnt install.
Anyway, i have installed the latest firmware.
However i am unable to update to the latest walkman application and some sony apps are out of date.. HELP
Yes I think that's the problem of owing a prototype phone. Just try downloading the latest .apk file and install it manually...also, does it connect to PC Suite?? And are you getting any error dialog while trying to update apps via Update centeR?
I successfully updated the apps manually. Any way to make the phone function as normal? Also, I am unable to access xda developer forum using chrome on my d6653 or the official application.. Really really weird
Hmm i guess it has to do with the official firmware. Just wait a few more days and flash another ROM of your choice. That will remove all the restrictions you now have. There is already a root option available for locked bootloaders. I'm just waiting for a stable CM12 build.
Thank you bro.
But what do you mean by flash another ROM? I thought what I have now on my phone is the latest one?
Xperia Z3 (D6603) Prototype model
I've bough xperia Z3 from aliexpress . Item is really looks good but the thing is when i update item it doesn't update to newest version of software. So I've flashed the xperia device using Xperia Flashtool and install new marshmellows rom. But unfortunately this kind of message shows on when it's on first start. "this device is a prototype. Accordingly it collects and sends usage information to Sony Mobile in order for us to improve the device" and it shows on the android settings page as well under usage info. Please help for this issue. I want to rid out of this message from the setting menu.
Hi,
I updated my xperia XA (F3115) to the latest nougat (F3115_1302-4361_33.3.A.0.131-R2B_Customized_AU) everything went ok except I got one warning.
"WARN - Unit 2212 not found in bundle"
I'm using the latest version of flashtool(0.9.23.2), and tried it twice and on a different pc and got the same warning each time.
The phone boots and seems ok however I've just flashed it so haven't tested many functions as yet.
I attached the log file from flashtool.
How do I fix this error?
Is this warning anything I need to concerned about?
Thanks

How can I solve the problem. I really want to get the solution.
Please help me, brothers.
You must use the last version of Flashtool...
update Flashtool to latest version and your problem is solved.
Please link the last version of Flashtool.
I think that Flashtool which is gotten by searching normally on google is not the last version.
XperiaXZperson http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php this version works
I already used it. But it didn't work.
what do you want to flash anyway? xz and xz1 have different firmware
What is your actual phone model ? Download correct firmware
