I recently bought lg optimus net p690. It was running very good. I rooted it 3-4 days ago. There was no problem after rooting. It was running the same good. But while using wifi I ran the "software update" from phone. It downloaded an 18MB file and then updated phone and restarted. After that my phone has become very laggy. It runs slowly. When I slide to change homescreens, they change very slowly. applications too are laggy now. sometimes they crash...
now I want that previous firmware that was running good.
I tried to reset my phone (settings>privacy>erase) but nothing improved (my apps got deleted ).
I dont remember what was the previous firmware version or any thing.. but this is what is displays
Android version 2.3.4
Software version v10e-Jan-06-2012
How do I roll back to the previous version of firmware.. pls help!!
Only death can not be fixed.
How do you know that you downloaded a new fimware or just some application updates?
Did you take note of the software version? (Under Settings/About/Software).
Did it give you any warning about losing your Apps? (Titanium Back-Up is for backing-up Apps).
You can not "roll-back" firmware if you did not do a ROM (also called nandroid) back-up first...
But don't dispair, because If a ROM is not working for you, wether it is stock (Manufacturer) or not, you can get something better here!

Cheers, and don't despair, rooting is just the first step to a long and fun path!
BTW, you might have to root it again, but you already know how to.

Opps.... Forgot to ask... Did you do a "reset" (Hold Power down and choose reset phone)? A simple reset can solve A LOT of things, better than just pulling the battery out, so try that first and let us know what happened.
Again, you have to ENJOY getting into phones. You will learn a lot while failing and trying again!
i did reset from phone settings. not a hard reset.
it displayed "updating firmware" during the update process.
where can i get custom roms for lg p690? i dont know how to install them. pls help

Hi what country version is your phone?
Hello guys so i recently got into the rooting thing and so far..so good (i guess) i recently rooted my phone(LG Optimus G Pro) and added the latest CWM recovery (6.0.4.7) and flashed CM 11 Nightly ROM released 17/07/14
But i have a question... Since i installed this ROM another Nightly has come out yesterday (cant post links yet but its on the download.cyanogenmod website)
since i have noticed some problems with the current ROM i have (such as SD card not mounting so cant safely unmount it, battery dying wayyy to quick etc) and i want to upgrade to the newest one to see if those problems are fixed...how do i go about doing it?
Do i have to make another backup of my entire phone using CWM, then clear DATA, wipe cache etc etc, then flash the zip? or can i just flash the new one onto the current one without loosing anything? Please guide me on this. Thank you, you rock.
Nighties aren't promised to be stable at all times. As there is always new changes. However many new pushed updates fix such issues like in your case the mounting issues. (Maybe).
There is two approaches to this, you can either update via the built in ota updater that the developer had provided in the Rom. Or you can use the ota updater but do a clean flash, please note if you use the ota updater to update your device. It dirty flashes so it isn't a clean install. When you clean install, it ensures you that there is less issues but that's entirely the users preference. I would suggest you to check out the CyanogenMod Rom thread for your device and look for info, if there is a discussion thread then go ahead and use it.
I cant post on that forum yet cuz im new, but the OTA updater says no updates when im checking out the download page for the e980 roms and im seeing one is being released everyday. Its ok guys i cant post the problems i have here since its not the official thread. Ill just post some more till i can post on it.
This could be closed.
If you want otas I would recommend downloading from their site I stead of through their api as I've gotten a ton of corrupted downloads from their Ota system but never from a direct download from their site.
---------- Post added at 11:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:40 PM ----------
Also so long as you already have cm you can dirty flash as it acts like a normal Ota, just remember that framework mods like custom boot animations, xposed framework and custom busy box are overwritten, but it will keep all user data like apps and app data along with settings, texts, and dialer history
After a run in with a couple of apps' who's developement ran out with ICS 4.03 (VLC Media player and Tesla paid flashlight),I managed to recover once (VLC),but after Tesla I couldn't.
Along with usual house cleaning after root,I did Uninstall KNOX and it's buddies ... 4 in all,IIRC.
Chrome Cast is also gone.
Here's where it seems to have gotten weird: when I put in Tesla the instability got so bad that I was forced into a factory reset.
There went my root.
Upon trying to redo it,I can finish the first step of rooting, but the second step fails.
I'm guessing because of KNOX?
I have older backups, but I can't boot into recovery to access them ... no TWRP.
Any ideas on this one,or am I looking at sending it in for a reload?
Any help would be appreciated.
No ideas?
No idea

I wish I could help
No problem ..... I'm running 5.1.1 now.
MUCH better than 4.4.4 and just as easy on the battery..... snappier too!
I think it's the T Mobile ROM.
I had it installed at CPR in Novi,Michigan when I was down for the Woodward Dream Cruise.
Now to root!
Not sure if they're up to that point yet?
I've even turned off KNOX active protection .... it's in the settings.:highfive:
No TWRP and no back up accessable
You can download the stock Firmware from [www dot sammobile dot com/firmwares. You will be able to flash this using Odin and will #1. Restore you boot loader to factory. And #2. Will restore you KNOX, which will show un-altered. From here of course install your TWRP and should be able to proceed as normal.
I looked and it seems they're only offering 5.1.1.
My question would be:can you go back to KitKat after upgrading to 5.1.1?
If I could, where would I find the ROM?
Lastly: I like this system much better than the stocker.
The downside is the O/S uses around 1 gig of memory.
THAT'S BLOATWARE!
I've got 34 app's disabled right now.
I'm thinking it'll easily be under 430 megs once I get rid of the garbage.
Hello, everyone. It's been a long time since I posted, maybe since my S4.
There may be some of you who are not getting signal or just "Emergency Calls Only" after update/upgrade/flash to 6.0 (MM).
There's a simple solution which I found after many and many tries.
Modem: https://www.mediafire.com/?14az40tk2dkd3gw
Step 1. Download the Modem attached.
Step 2. Open Odin, look for the file and put it in CP.
Step 3. Flash it.
Step 4. There's not step 4.
Enjoy your signal.
Edit:
If any of above does not work you can use this method by dhiru1602
Happened to me. I had no signal after flashing Marshmallow. Reverting back to any lollipop baseband fixed the issue. I did some digging and it turns out there was some provisioning parameters changes done from Lollipop to Marshmallow which was preventing network to work after flashing Marshmallow baseband. The RIL was using the wrong radio technology setting.
I did the following to fix the issue.
1. Dial ##72786#
2. Press Yes to reset the Provisioning Settings to default.
3. Reboot the Phone.
CAUTION: I am not responsible for broken unlocks. I tried this method and my phone was still unlocked. I don't know if it works for everyone without breaking unlock..

About to try this, havent had signal for 2 days now and it would only reboot after about 2 minutes even with airplane mode on. Weird thing is one time itd boot with a signal bar icon area and the next time it would be gone completeley and so on back and forth. If this works you are my hero.

It's the lollipop radio, so it will work fine, and yes, it will work in Marshmallow, tested by myself.
Is there anything i need to do first? After flashing lollipop or marshmallow my phone will start and stay on for about a minute with no signal and then reboot and do it all over... ive done factory reset. Turning airplane mode on delays the reboot but will end up rebooting. The area for signal bars is there just no bars

Should i do rtn for sprint clear efs and have modem in cp slot with the lollipop or marshmallow in ap slot or do separately? Sorry for blowing up thread i just dont want to resort to calling sprint with no resolution from them.
To check if it's a situation about CPU reboots install TWRP and put the phone to do some random operation that TWRP has, if it does reboot even in Recovery then your phone is faulty, if not then let's do something about it, I wil guide you.
Sweet i appreciate it, im flashing marshmallow back on then i will flash twrp, the sim card wont react when putting one in or out such as requiring a reboot. I just called sprint and they set an appt but id rather not. I will post as soon as twrp mode and let u know if its rebooting there.

---------- Post added at 07:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:49 PM ----------
Basically in a nutshell how it happened is I upgraded to marshmallow via oden and everything was good, signal everything. So then i installed twrp 3.0.0.0-3 or what ever and through twrp installed supersu 2.68 and rebooted and thats when signal was gone. Reflashed marshmallow via oden and same issue up til now. Have flashed ok3 and marshmallow with no fix.
---------- Post added at 08:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:20 PM ----------
I now have tried installing moar rom through twrp and it bootloops about the same timeframe it would reboot in stock only not getting fully booted but rebooting while the boot animation is going where the stock would fully boot and then about 30 seconds it would reboot. Flashing stock would successfully boot the first time and then the 30 second reboot, flashing custom reboots 30 seconds still only not fully booting the first time. Sim status and imei status have no information on stock and software version shows unavailable on stock with both lollipop and marshmallow. The only place it doesnt reboot is twrp or philz touch or stock recovery

Try the general steps but flashing the official firmware or using the one from that thread? The biggest issue currently besides no signal is the rebooting every 30 seconds unless im in download mode or recovery be it twrp or stock. The software version under settings and status shows as unknown as well as sim status and imei status on both lollipop and marshmallow. If i could get it to stop rebooting i could play around in hidden menu or build prop or csc settings but i cant do anything hardly in 30 seconds before reboot. Does the same thing in safe mode
im in the same boat after i tried to change my kernel.
its looking like a fd up efs folder. we need a good backup to resotore in twrp to fix efs, or efs repair tool

Hi , my note 5 was originally N920P(sprint) before I bought it. It was rooted and the model number was changed to N920F (IDK how they did it) . I guess they did that to bypass network lock. Please how can I flash official firmware without relocking the device to sprint? I heard others with the same phone as mine are getting no network reception after flashing official firmware. Thanks

Alright. I wiped as you stated and installed rom. Everything went well. Restoring all my apps took around 2 hours. Only had 35 apps. Downloading super sue to flash in twrp to get root. Right bow everything seems good. Will test out more later. I do like the look of it and feel how.
Good to have you back Sir. Could you possibly please get the Verizon visual voice mail baked in this kind Sir.
That and the low in call volume were the only things keeping me from running as a daily.

If this CF MM rom is the same as that Stock 6.0.1 MPG24.107-70.2 (Brazil) for Verizon XT1254 but debloated. I I need to flash the BHB27 v200-8-M kernel then. Lets try that. T1s are not pricey anymore if Do brick it.

It seems that flashing supersu in TWRP (which version didn't matter for me) will cause the phone to lock at the M logo. Flashing the zip without flashing supersu does work...but installing supersu via apk method doesnt work. Tried flashing it again and once again locks at the M logo. Back to LP I go until this gets resolved.
:edit:
reverting back to my previous restore I now get the "Motorola Sensor Services Complete Uninstall" popup that re-appears on reboot even when checked to block the message.... I would probably terminate this build until you figure out whats going on with it, its buggy as heck.

You can just uninstall that sensor. MM installs a newer version and when you downgrade it needs to revert back. I'm testing 7.1 but will probably go back to 5.1 for my volte

EDIT: This SuperSu ( BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651) works on THIS ROM Motorola 6.0.1 even after being updated to Verizon 6.0.1 OTA. See post #18 for confirmation.

I am not able to get root. I installed the super su from the link I posted for the guy who wanted to know how to unlock bootloader and root. I installed super su in twrp. I have wiped cache before and after install. Reboot and stuck at the m logo screen. I have to reboot wipe cache and reinstall the mm ROM to get my phone to work. Any ideas?

While SuperSu 2.76 works for @iiWoodstocK ROM, the stock Brazilian Marshmallow 6.0.1 firmware on which this ROM is based actually needed BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651. I don't know why, but we figured out it like this version of SuperSu. Then after successful reboot, you can update to newest version.
Since this CF Droid Turbo XT1254 ROM is based on that firmware, it's possible it also needs that version of SuperSu? BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651 Perhaps that is a difference between @iiWoodstocK's ROM and this one? Just a suggestion. Let me know if it works.
You can find it at the bottom of the first post in this thread:

I'm only suggesting that first post for the SuperSu version attached. The bootloader unlock procedures in that post are for the other Quarks, not for the Droid Turbo. But that version of SuperSu may be useful.
For those interested, however there are other files in that thread useful for all Quarks.

I installed 2.62 ss last night after you posted it in another thread and it worked great. I am rooted and phone is running normal. I am not going to update ss just yet. Been thinking of updating the kernel but not sure what benefits are from it. Will have to read that thread some. Thank you @ChazzMatt for the link. I had a reply done and summited right when the site went down. I am glad I was able to be the first to report back on installing the ROM Ect with help from members. CF will have to add the ss install in the opening post. My AdAway is working, flash fly is working, esfile explorer is working since rooted.

Good to have you back Sir. Could you possibly please get the Verizon visual voice mail baked in this kind Sir.
That and the low in call volume were the only things keeping me from running as a daily.
Downloading now.

I will apply my low audio tweaks to this rom in next build. I will also see about getting vvm done too. However my audio boosters zips from .49 may still work I will look into it.

If anyone has problems with data or signal. I have changed my cellular network to these settings. I have not had problems but changed them anyways. Default is GSM not LTE.
