So here is the story....
I am running the latest TWRP 3.2 and was formatting the /data partition. But now I go into a strange bootloop. The Tablet boots directly into Recovery, directly into Formatting Data, runs for about 20 seconds then reboots into the same setup...
Here is a screen shot..
Any help or thoughts would be appreciated!
Dave
Did you interrupt the formatting process? Can you boot into fastboot via the buttons?

Yuppers I sure did interrupt the formatting process. My total mistake!!
So, I simply held the power button to shut it down. Then powered and "left" pressed the volume button at the same time, then loaded a backup I had of a former version. From there simply reflashed my updates and.... PROFIT!

Hey all, i wiped my system in TWRP recovery and when i hold power, home, and vol down, i get to the TWRP splash screen but then i reboot. Any suggestions?
bump please help
So it will not boot into TWRP fully? How many times have you tried cuz if you rebooted accidentally after wiping system (I've done this), it takes a few tries.
Alternatively, you could Odin flash TWRP (file is in Open1your1eyes0 root thread) and try booting into TWRP then. This increments your flash counter.

No problem. You're saying its booting to the TWRP logo or booting to the Samsung logo? Just wanted to clarify.
Also, hold: power, home, and volume then once it boots release the power button. That seems to be the only way I can cold boot into recovery.

Yeah i hold home, power, and vol down, then it goes Samsung screen > Samsung Galaxy SIII screen > blue TWRP splash screen > reboot to system and freezes. And another thing, if i odin flash this TWRP, will it wipe internal storage by any chance? Its happened one too many times to me

Hmm, weird. What were you doing before which led to this?
Nope, it doesn't wipe internal storage. Just overwrites your recovery partition. When Odin reboots your phone, pull the battery then try booting straight to TWRP. If you still can't boot into recovery try the same steps but flash CWM, flash a rom, and then reinstall TWRP via GooManager.

Just flashed it and it still wouldn't fully boot TWRP. I'm about to try CWM now. What happened was i came from LiquidSmooth AOSP and I was ready to flash Hyperdrive Touchwiz so I wiped all the partitions and flashed the zip. The Aroma Installer froze before it started so i battery pulled and figured I'd retry. It wouldn't boot and now I'm where I am now.

Ok so I think I may have accidentally deleted something I wasn't supposed to on the TWRP recovery and when I tried to reboot the phone (the system) it gave me a prompt saying "No OS Installed" or something like that. I ignored it and continued anyway. So basically the phone rebooted but it got stuck/froze on boot (where it says HTC blah blah). It's not really a boot loop where it keeps restarting it's just there froze. Now I now you have to hold the power button for 10 seconds or so but the phone just won't reboot or power down/turn off. I also tried holding down the volume down + power and it doesn't restart to recovery either. It's just there frozen. I'm trying to get to the bootloader or recovery so I can fix this issue but I can't even power down the phone! And this phone doesn't have a removable battery so that's out of the question. What can I do other than waiting for the phone's battery to die out?
Can you hold down the power button until the keys start flashing? It should boot if you press until the lights go out.
Can you reach it from adb or fastboot?

No. Like I said I already tried holding down the power button for several seconds up to a minutes multiple times. The keys don't flash at all. It doesn't reboot or turn off. It's just stuck there. I tried holding down the volume and power button as well. Nothing. It's just stuck there on that boot screen (HTC quietly brilliant). I can't reach the device on abd (it says offline) and I can't reach it on fastboot either
Hm. What exactly did you delete?
You could try to leave it on until battery low. Then charge, power on into bootloader.

I basically wiped the entire internal sd card. I also wiped the System.
Ok so now the phone is dead but I can't seem to boot into bootloader/recovery. I keep pressing volume down + power multiple times but it just doesn't work. And if I do turn it on normally it'll go back to the boot screen and stay frozen until the battery dies.
Ok so I managed to "/adb reboot-bootloader" from my computer. I noticed that there's no recovery option on the bootloader anymore. What the hell? Did I delete the recovery by mistake? How can I flash the recovery again?
Strange... Get a recovery and
fastboot flash recovery FILENAME
Good luck!

Ok so I actually did manage to get into TWRP Recovery (v2.3.3.0). But it says "No OS Installed" what does it mean by that? How can I fix it?
Actually when I try to do anything like wipe something or ADB Sideload i keep getting these errors:
E: Unable to mount '/sdcard'
E: Unable to mount storage.
It seems that it can't locate my sd card. Although when I press mount I can see all the files on my computer but I can't see it on the TWRP's File Manager or when I try to install a .zip
Try latest twrp and see if it lets you wipe the sdcard.

I flashed the latest verison of TWRP and it's still doing the same thing. Same errors
Fixed
Mods you can close this thread. I found out what the problem was. It was the way the SD Card was formatted. I have a MacBook so I guess when I was formatting the SD Card on my Mac it wouldn't format it right or to a way recognizable to TWRP
The solution? I just wiped the internal SD Card on TWRP Recovery instead. That fix all the "E: Unable to mount '/sdcard'" issue.
As I told you

Yeah I didn't know what you meant exactly. I thought you meant to wipe the sd card any way like through the computer (since my Mac read the sd card, oddly). But I guess you meant to do it inside of TRWP. Thanks
I was in recovery to flash a camera mod, after I flashed the mod I went to clear cache and dalvik just like I usually do when I flash something.
It got stuck on erasing cache for TEN minutes. So I held power to reboot it. Cache was then unmountable. Then I heard if that happens it's probably TWRP's fault, and that a Factory Reset would help. So I did that, and now my /system is gone and I unmountable.
I was able to get into bootloader before, but now that I'm at home it seems I'm having trouble getting there. What are some "force"/hard reset ways to get there? When I try to hold to reboot and hold Vol UP/DOWN it stays black??? Sometimes if i just press power it boots to Google and stays. From there I try to hold power to reboot and get UP/DOWN to get to bootloader but either my timing's off or I'm doing somethign wrong?? Help!

Might want to look that thread over.

Can u get to recovery? You will have to download a Rom on your computer and side load the Rom to your phone.

Yes but it continuously says "E:Unable to mount /cache"
I tried wiping it but it takes <5 minutes, is this normal? Can I format it in fastboot...? Or should I just use Google Factory and not ever use recovery or what?
What's the long term fix since somehow TWRP can't wipe my cache without doing something horrible, and CWM isn't official?
EDIT: Finally cleared after like 10 minutes. I managed to adb push a stock untouchced zip through TWRP.
EDIT: What the hell? I booted and my phone is just like it was before?? Somehow data survived I guess? Lost no apps, no photos... Cool i guess? /thread
I had the same problem as you and after I flash back the stock camera I can enter the system normally except the internal storge won't be mounted. do you have any idea why...and how to fix it?

Took a factory reset and restored the data, it worked fine. they should put a giant warning in the camera mod thread about this kind of things.
Hi,
i fashed the fresh RMA Nexus 5 of my friend with the latest 5.0.1 image from google. Now it is stuck at this screen.
I tried to reflash via fastboot and LG flashtool. I tried all the usual suspects (manual reflash etc.) but it refuses to boot. If I want to go into stock recovery it still displays the same screen. Please help!
ThX in advance!
Looks like the stock recovery. Press vol up then power. Then release power

probably your bootloader flag wasnt clear, so the recovery is trying to do the usual things as you were flashing (wipe data, etc)
on fastboot
do a format cache
and format userdata
Sorry, but tried. I can get into fastboot but for recovery after vol+ then release Power I geht the same screen
Userdata and cache I did wipe

Did both on fastboot: no change
Hi,
i tried flashing a different recovery via cf-autoroot. Still the same when I try to get into recovery. Any advice?
Edit:
TWPR and CMW it is all the same: Little Android with its open stomach and a spinning tetrahedon.

This was the first thing I did after the usual flash precedure failed. I´m guessing towards a hardware defect! The Device was a fresh RMA Google Nexus 5 running 4.4.4. It was unable to aquire network connection to LTE and 3g Networks and had random reboots from the start. So I tried upgrading, but now it is completely unusable
did you try booting while plugged in to AC charger? just a thought. seen that yesterday on a friends phone, that was behaving erratically.

If you format your system then the OS would also have gotten erased as well. Normally, if you opt to reboot after doing such a wipe, you'd get a notification advising you that no OS was installed.
Try flashing your stock ROM.

If you can still boot to TWRP, flash a ROM.

i cannot access the device via adb. When i switch the phone there is only a coloured stripe appears.

i cannot also access twrp.
Can you access the phone as a removable drive if you're booted into TWRP? I did that exact thing once and that's what saved me.
While the phone is off, hold volume up, volume down, & power, that should start the bootloader. Use volume buttons to change selection to Recovery Mode, and press power button.
All you had to do was search google.
