Cant. Tried flashing again dual sim br and then the ota but i get ' Installation aborted ' everytime.....
It sounds like your Bootloader has been updated so you can no longer boot the KitKat kernel. Can you please state what version your Bootloader is now?
For example mine is: 41.13
This weekend I will try to build a Stock ROM based on Retail DS BR Lolliopop. That should get your phone back, as long as you have a custom Recovery installed.
Perhaps you could try to flash the full latest 4.4.4 Brazil rom; the OTA update to Lollipop might work on this one. Just not sure if it is safe to revert to an older bootloader on Moto G, never tried this myself.
If this doesn´t work or you don´t want to try, you will need someone to upload a full 5.0 ROM and look for a backup phone until then
My bootloader ver. is 41.18
i've tried reflashing br dual sim version and then the 5.0 ota. But it doesnt work.

Hi,
the title says it all:
How can I apply the 5.0 OTA update on a rooted, unlocked Moto G XT1032 with CWM recovery?
I don't care about root anymore and I have used SuperSU to unroot the phone.
But in order to apply the update I need to install the stock recovery, otherwise the device will get stuck in a bootloop.
How do I do this? I have tried using MotoToolAIO and its "Flash Stock Recovery KitKat" button but get a
Code:
hab check failed for recovery
message every time I try.
Could you guys please tell me how to get the stock recovery installed on this phone? As I said I don't care about losing root and I don't mind relocking the phone if necessary. I would really appreciate any pointers you can give me. Possibly without losing my data & apps. Thank you.
This page apparently is supposed to contain all those stock files but it is broken: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=14
This manual seems to be helpful for similar cases, it did not help me, though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
Download the stock 4.4.4 ROM for your phone, extract the recovery.img file, and flash it using fastboot commands.
You also need to be unrooted with the stock Motorola apps.

If you think that solves the proble, well...yes. But where do I find that file? As I indicated the only possible source seems to be unavailable currently. I can't find any other.
Does anyone here have an XT1032 DE singleSIM recovery image lying around?
As I am currently living in South Africa and internet is not reall stable it would be amazing if someone could offer just the recovery file instead of the whole 500-600MB dump.
I have a Canadian xt1032 running stock Telus 4.4.4 firmware. Not sure if that recovery would work but I could find it if you want to try it.
Don't forget to unroot too.
I unrooted too using SuperSU and managed to restore the stock recovery using MotoTool (find it on XDA). These are the basic requirements for installing an OTA. But after the OTA is downloaded and I try to install it, the process starts and in about 10 seconds it displays "Error" and boots to 4.4.4 again. Any recommendations?
^^did you remove any of the stock Motorola apps?
No, and Motorola Update Services is updated to the last version.

I doubt it - and fear what might happen if it goes wrong, to be honest. But thanks a lot for the offer. I was able to locate a Retail package for the DE version and will try to download the whole beast, hoping that the connection is stable for these 3 hours.
Even though nobody answered me, I found out what's going on. Lollipop OTAs cannot be installed on modified devices.
You could try out some custom ROM if you are unable to get the official 4.4.4. Carbon and CM11 are some customs ROMs I know of.
There are great unofficial ROMs on the moto g xda forum too!! Don't forget to have a look.
Sent from my Moto G using XDA Free mobile app
I'm thinking of Resurrection Remix 5.0.2
You could also check out mokee, crdroid, xperience. And don't forget to check out the ROMs in the forum list

One question man. I have 4.4.4 installed. Do I have to install stock 5.X in order to get lollipop bootloader before installing any ROM?

how did you manage to un-modify your device? I just bought the Moto G (2013) and have unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP and haven't had any luck installing ANY firmware after 4.4.4.... I'm always getting stuck on the bootlogo and have to return back to stock 4.4.4...

You need to have factory firmware and recovery installed in order to update via OTA.

Ok I had a notification on the Moto G that there was an official Lollipop update available , along with a prompt to download 23.21.17 ( see attachments )
I initially tried upgrading from a rooted stock version of UK tesco firmware/Rom .
The firmware update started and the phone booted into a boot-loader ( with android image laying down ) The firmware update started , However this firmware update failed around halfway and the phone simply booted back into kitkat firmware/Rom
I then suceeded in re-flashing a stock UK KitKat ( 4.4.4) retail rom , then unrooted the Moto G , so theoretically the phone is stock but boot-loader is still unlocked .
I suspect the phone recognizes the boot loader is unlocked and fails to complete the update process
IS there a possibility this is an incorrect update ? I have not seen officail confirmation of lollipop for UK peregrine XT1039 yet which makes me suspicious of the new lollipop update on phone . Could this be due to me using Hola VPN ?
Please advise
Bump
I guess this means I have to update the unofficial way ?

Ok so The official update downloads ok, the phone then starts to do a reboot , however the phone now boots straight into TeamWin , instead of initiating new update ( I fastboot installed TWRP , in order to wipe dalvic and cache )
Anyone - please advise , is driving me crazy
Thanks
According to Motorola , seen here - https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/91996"]https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/91996, OTA updates will not work if the boot-loader is unlocked . Just to remind you guys , my bootloader is unlocked ( originally to root ) , however I have since unrooted
Anyway , can anyone advise me , what options do I have ?
u can flash custom rom

Reflash stock ROM, and stock recovery. Ota will not update if the phone is rooted (even unrooted), if the system files are changed (xposed) or if the recovery isn't stock. So, basically, you can't use twrp, Cwm, etc. You have to be COMPLETELY stock.

Does it matter that the phone has been unlocked ? I mean an unlock code was used so it could acccept any sim card . Does that mean I have to reflash Tesco Firmware Rom , or would retail firmware ROM be ok ?
Hello everyone. So here's my problem, i was flashing the android marshmallow rom that was just ported over to our lovely phone. I got it to work, it booted, ran smooth the only problem was i had no service at all. i still have my baseloader and imei but my service state says radio off. i did do a backup of my efs before i flashed marshmallow but it didnt work. i just reflashed it to Oxygen os and it still says radio off. ive tired flashing modems but i dont exactly know which one to flash. ive tried flashing other roms but to no avail. i really need my phone so any help would be greatly appreciated
Did you try moving to older versions of the OS.
Try doing following
1. Install any Android 5.1.1 firmware. This should restore the Radio
2. Install any suitable radio/modem explicitly
Let us know if it helps. Best of luck dude

I have to fresh install the ROM on my OPO because I got it bricked so I followed this guide now my radio still doesn't work and the phone is constantly rebooting. The issues came out just like @agentxur did
Considering that you still have your baseband and IMEI (You're Lucky ), you can just flash 44S Modem via Fastboot or full CM12.1 Firmware. I will leave out a link for 44S Modem down.
44S Modem: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001607675
PS: Flash it through FASTBOOT only!!! Else won't work
I hope the method pointed out by Sanjiv Kumar helped you. Whatever your feedback let the members know.

I just recently installed Linux on my laptop so I don't have fastboot right now but I actually read somewhere that twrp 2.8.7.0 (which I was using with multirom) won't flash modems or radios correctly so I reflashed 2.8.6.0 with rasher app and it worked. Thanks tho
Hi guys,
several months ago, when Motorola released Lollipop for my rooted XT1039, i tried to update via OTA, but the device got stuck in a bootloop, showing a message that i found out after searching, means that i have the wrong bootloader(I´m using CWM Touch 6.0.5.0)
So my question is, what is the best and safest way to get Lollipop working on my phone.
Should i flash the stock XT1039 version of Lollipop or can i use the Motoflasher to flash the correct bootloader and update?
Thanks in advance
Just flash the original recovery from your device, as you cant update via OTA from a custom one
Ok, thank you.
What I've seen ist the MotoFlasher the best choice, as it has the new Moto G Recovery, should i use this program?
