Battery swap questions - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note5

I was thinking about swapping out some parts on my note 5 including back, camera lens housing, and potentially battery. The battery of the s7 edge appears to be almost the same size (based on an aftermarket battery size) so I'm wondering if you could swap that into the note 5. Any thoughts?

Why would you go anywhere near a Samsung "7" type battery?

The G2 used a "unique stepped design" (says LG) that allows it to fit a physically larger battery in it. N5 will just be the standard flat shape.
Thus, the answer is no.

There might be enough room vertically to fit this larger battery:
http://www.droid-life.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/IMG_7374.jpg
On the other hand, notice the empty space on top of the battery (in between the battery and camera). If one were to grind down the little vertical walls, it may be possible that a larger flat battery like from the Optimus G Pro may fit.
Hopefully someone will feel adventurous enough to investigate more into this once they receive their Nexus 5

Uh, you mean grinding away the back of the phone where the NFC antenna, Qi charging coil, and potentially even the cellular/wifi antennas are? Yeah, good luck with that!

No, I'm referring to small the vertical spacer walls that surround the battery as you can see in the picture. Specifically, the one on top of the battery. This may allow you to fit a battery that is longer in length. Just being hopeful here...
If you're referring to the grey area in that photo above the battery, that's only visible because there's a giant electronics board that's missing. You could remove the vertical wall but it'd only buy you an extra millimeter or so, nowhere near enough to fit a new battery in it.
I'm kind of interested in this, I wonder if a company will find a way to fit in a larger battery

S5 battery on S4??

Will be the same size the S5 battery for use it in our S4??
I've read that the new battery was made of a new material that would work to much better than just 200mah more.

I think no
If you see the S5 with its back cover off the battery is more rectangular in shape. No where near the dimensions of the S4. In short, it won't work.

I believe it's used to power the phone.
But on a more serious note it's probably the same battery as the Galaxy Round, they're both 2800mah and that general shape. The Galaxy Round also looks quite a bit like the s5 when you remove the back cover:

Note 4 v/s Note Edge Battery

Can anyone confirm if note 4 and note edge use the same battery. If different then what are the battery model numbers.
Just asking to know if we have had the option of using note 4 extended batteries with note edge, guess there is no aftermarket oem who is making extended battery specifically for edge.
Thanks

Yes, the battery are different also in the format .
Give a look here:
Mugen Power - extended battery for edge
I used in the past their product (for Note 2) without problem.

Note 4 battery is larger in size... Won't fit the Edge...

Very interesting.... I heard they were slightly different in size. (width I think) Are you saying this is not the case?
Yes thats what im saying. Unless the sprint note 4 has a different battery than the other variants. It fit perfectly in my phone.
Will that Mugen battery work with the Samsung flip case? I ask because they include a battery cover with it, which looks deeper than stock.
Note 4 (N910C) Battery is a bit longer than Edge (N915F) Battery. No, It doesn't fit inside the Edge either.
Have you tried it?

So the Mugen is considered as replacement battery with direct plug in? Does it require the ugly cover included? 6000Mah is quite interesting for an investment.

Isn't possible. Had a sprint note 4 owner at work pop there battery out and I tried. Battery is noticeably bigger even before I tried. So, no clue what you tried or did.

Is it the length, the width, or the thickness that differ. I have the note 4 duos hk model sm-n9100 which uses 3000Maj battery. The 3220mah battery for the sm-n910 models is to wide.

Nexus 5X Battery into Nexus 5

Was wondering is it possible to fit nexus 5x battery into nexus 5 without any mod? Since there's a post about putting LG G2 battery into nexus 5
Why would u want to do this, and what would be the purpose, is there any gain from it? Why not just get the 5x?

Interested in this as well. It might be a better fit than the G2 battery, requiring less work.

Yeah but cant find any info on how big 5x battery is
I'm guessing he has a n5, and only want to change the battery, assuming n5x battery is better than n5 and already available on the market.

Keeping my eye on this thread. As soon as I seen ifix it tear down of the 5x the other day and seen that the 5x battery placement. From the video it looks similar size.
https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus+5X+Teardown/51318
You're going to need to do some type of modding anyway to get it to work. Judging from the ifixit pics the ribbon cable in too far to right so you'll have to unsolder the original battery pcb onto the 5x battery. If the battery is a mm or two taller you might be able to squeeze it in after removing the black plastic piece on battery pcb.
So anybody found anywhere to get their hands on nexus 5x battery?

Zero Lemon 8500mAh Extended Battery for Note 5 works on Note 4 - Total 11,720mAh!

Hey guys. I've tested this on my Note 4 and it fits! The volume rocker, power button and S-Pen slots all line up. The case does protrude a bit on the sides, however it is very minor and I am now using this as my daily driver.
This does Rapid Charge passthrough for the phone and has a full spare USB-A slot to charge a second device (not rapid charge though). The battery itself does not rapid charge in nor out but passes the rapid charge through to the phone while charging the battery.
Pictures to come.

Interesting.
I'd like to see those pics when you can. I'm interested in seeing how it looks on the phone.
How does the case affect the phone weight? I've never played with the case.

If this one works I wonder is others will work too?
That's not a good idea i think.
You will loose sound cause the speaker is covered though.
Interested to see if this works. I find it frustrating to use the 10,000 mah extended battery from zerolemon as it never reads correctly even with the beast mode kernal that has the zero lemon fix. Post those pictures please.
i doubt about fitting part cause of note 5 camera n flash position compare to note 4 .
Good point
Are you using correct zero lemon kernal with your note 4 not hundred percent accurate but very good
can we see some pictures of your note 4 with the note 5 battery? i will get one asap if this really fits well.

Sorry, this mod was good, but I moved to the Huawei Mate 8 too fast after this and didn't take pictures before selling the phone with the case.

OK no problem, but how much more bulky was the phone? Does it become bulky like other zerolemon products or is it a slim style? Thanks for getting back to me even though ur not on the note 4 anymore. Do you like the mate 8?

There's no way that this case would fit a Note 4 and be a good idea. 1. The battery case completely covers the speaker and no sound is present. 2. The camera flash and camera itself are not located in the exact areas, whereas you'll be interfering with the lens etc. 3. The charging I this thing socks cause the connection is done thru a modified male micro USB connector which takes literally twice as long to charge and the correct battery. 4. Unless you have insurance on your phone, why risk 2 millimeters of loose play on the side of the TPU case? In my opinion, the most obvious choice, would be to use the correct battery with the correct phone. That's just my opinion, lol
