Use Amazon Firestick Remote as voice input for Android TV Box? - General Questions and Answers

One of the annoyances of Android TV boxes is that while USB headsets will work to listen to audio, the microphone part of these headsets do not seem to work as voice input to Google search or Google Play Store search.
I just ordered an Amazon Firestick at $30 because you can add KODI to it. The new Firestick includes voice remote control. Could this be hacked to add voice control to an Andorid TV box? Has anyone tried something like that?
If that would not work or is not in the cards for other reasons, is there an app, a driver or method to get USB microphone input for use with Android TV boxes?

[Q] Stream Audio from Android to PC

Hello,
is there an app that allow me to stream the sound output form android to my pc or feed a icecast server?
galaxy 3, 2.1
greetings

I use Twonky Media Mobile. It will stream music to any DLNA compatible device. I am using it to stream the music from my Vibrant to my LG Blu-ray player (which outputs to my receiver) as we speak. It's a free app and it works well.
Just do a search for Twonky in the Android Market.
Something else you can do is use "Remote for iTunes". You can play your music on your iTunes from your phone. I literally just DJ'ed a party 2 days ago the entire night using this. I had my laptop hidden away and it worked awesomely.

Google music/Amazon mp3 not playing samples

This appears to be a similar issue on other devices as well. When you press Playall on an album in google music store, it skips all songs and doesnt play sound. On amazon mp3 store, it just doesnt load the mp3 samples and refreshes the same page. I want to listen to a song before I buy it. On the shield portable everything works, so the issue is with the shield tablet software. Its like it needs a plugin or something.
My wifi is 130mbps after update, I have no cracked edges, found a Fintie tablet cover on amazon for 7 bucks. All is well but now I just need an update to fix the problem with the OTG Y cable not charging simultaneously when connected to ethernet or anything else. I would buy this tablet again.
Glad I'm not the only one... Google Play App Videos are not playing either.
Videos within Google NewsStand also don't play.
Can't get SoundCloud embeds to play either ?
It's a know issue, which they are working for the next ota.

Mockup camera and mic streams android

Is there app that will expose port that I can use to pass my stream so that other apps that use camera or microphone will use that stream instead original?
I'd like to use that to route streams from windows into Genymotion android instance.

Streaming to an Android TV - How?

Can anyone tell me a simple way I can stream to a Sony Android TV?
I am using Cast X to TV, but if I chose the DLNA option then it says "video not supported" on the TV.
If I choose Android Beam (I think it's this), then it works but it's all a little cumbersome and requires an extra app.
Thanks

Audio Utilities for Android - Compatibility Fixes for Spotify, Bluetooth etc.

Hi XDA Team,
Recently I ran into a predicament where my car's JVC Kenwood head unit stopped displaying song metadata and track information. It turns out this is because Spotify had dropped support for my brand of stereo, meaning I had to downgrade my Spotify version. Before this I used to be able to like songs, browse playlists etc all through my car stereo.
I then got to thinking about how music apps (particularly Spotify) like to drop features at a moments notice, stop working with older devices etc.
I don't have a good way to phrase this question, but can anybody think of an "audio bridge" that manages the connection between your phone's music player and your device of choice? Some third party app that could include support for various devices and apps? Even a custom developed Spotify application? Would love to hear any ideas as to how this could work or why it is/isn't possible.
