I know there is a marshmallow update. But is there the actual firmware needed to unbrick? Or do you have to use the lollipop then install the update?
I have the j700t from t-mobile
I rooted installed twrp followed the instructions to wipe so I don't corrupt the data folder but it happened anyway so I have to try again..
Thanks for any help and links

You could get better help if you would have included your country and the firmware or build number that your current using.
With that said.... goto samfirmware and download the latest firmware for your device. Then use odin to flash the firmware, you should then have latest update and you can then root again.
There are other methodes but I think this is the least complicated.

my note details is added
I know your method and used it a lot via mobile odin, but I used to keep the
root from options, and iam not sure if the new firmware will wipe my note or not if I flash it via odin pc
I read that flashing the stock recovery will unroot it.
I read that flashing the stock recovery will unroot it.
Flashing stock rom removes root .
But latest updates are more likely on XDA or sammobile before Kies or OTA .

I see your updated info except for country that you live in. You may have the newest for your country.
Yes, flashing a new firmware with PC Odin will remove root,.
I have not done it in a while but from what I remember all data remains in tack, just don't do a factory reset.
I do believe that there is a way to install a factory firmware in mobile Odin and keep root but I have never done that method.

unrooting will open OTA update to update the device with 70-80 mb rather than downloading 1 gb

Hello
I run stock rom with twrp
I download the update and then i tap to install it
It reboot my phone into recovery mode without updating it
Then i reboot my phone and i realize that the update was lost
It says me that my phone is updated(thats not true)
What can i do?
Maybe i can flash the update because i downloaded it and probably it is somewhere in my device?
Please help me
Thanks
Assuming you are rooted (since you mentioned TWRP), you cannot install updates to Lollipop - because your system partition is modified. You will need to be completely stock if you want to take OTA.
P.S. The update is 5.0.1, not 5.1
I was in the same condition, I flashed a stock lollipo android 5 with is home kernel, no root and with unlocked bootloader but the result is not changing. When the 5.1 update pop appears I confirm dowbload, I confirm installation but when reboot in recovery a very fast fake installation runs on error and then stop on home twrp immage.
Please any flashable pure stock will probably be easier.
Thanks
Sorry jj14 I confirm update is 5.0.1

Backup your apps and other files on your phone and just flash the 5.0.1 factory image, reroot and restore your user apps and you`re done.
Could you please upload a stock .zip file 5.0.1 that I could flash from recovery??

I really need help on this please.
I was trying to upgrade my rom and was following the instructions on this url
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-0-t3094423
I already have xtrestolite rom but wanted to upgrade to the latest one.
The instruction was to update baseband and modem so I did in download mode and used odin to flash the files for g920f from the following url
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60112855&postcount=3
I flashed the latest ones 5.1.1
After I did that, my phone is stuck on the samsung s6 logo with the kernel error
I can go in twrp and download mode but not sure what to do now
any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks
Try flashing unikernel
Try this link
Make sure you are on a recent bootloader & firmware (5.1.1)
had to use kies and install stock rom, everything is wiped now sadly
is it possible to root the latest version of s6? or install xtresolite on it and root it?
Yes, please look here.
Follow the instructions carefully and you are good to go

I have checked it, it says i need cf-auto root to root the device but when I go on the link, there's a note stating that there's no root for 5.1.1 version yet.
am i missing something?
The included UniKernel from g.lewarne is pre-rooted, you don't have to worry about rooting the 5.1.1

I had the same problem. My phone wont pass the Samsung logo on the start up.
After trying every thing and failing. I had to flash stock ROM again via ODIN.
see this http://itechify.com/2016/06/15/galaxy-s6-fix-kernel-not-seandroid-enforcing/ guide for step to step instructions on how to fix this error.

You're not gonna want to hear this....
You said you could get into TWRP. That's exactly what you needed to do! In TWRP, flash the new ROM!
EDIT: if you wanted to install the latest version of the ROM, why did you install the *old* Odex version? Deodex version is much newer. You're looking at two different ROMs in your links.
Motorola has released new OTA update of 371.4 MB in India.
I read that since I am a rooted user I must not try to flash this update.
I would like the help from xda to install these updates. Should I install stock firmware 6.0.1 first?
Two ways to do it
1. Flash stock ROM 6.0from factory firmware link. Allow ota to download and phone should upgrade to 6.0.1
2. Flash the 6.0.1 stock ROM which is made available in factory firmware link. -Update: 6.0.1 is already the updated system with the new ota of 371mb.
Option 2 is more convenient.
While upgrading to mm 6.0 via ota, on my rooted phone I had tried flashing the stock recovery and cleaning the root. but it did not help and I landed with a soft bootloop. The ota checks for the original fingerprint of the stock system which is why you need to be on stock firmware for the ota update method.
You need stock recovery and stock firmware.

Hi,
I´m on 6.0 rooted with TWRP and would like to update to Nougat without setting up my phone from scratch.
Does this work?:
Flash Stock Bootloader. (Does it have to be the exact same one from the Stock rom version i have?)
Unroot with Supersu
Receive Ota Updates?
Or how would you do it?
Thanks in advance

Hi mate
I am assuming you have a root stock firmware....
Check this thread , it explains how to update stock firmware without losing anything..... BUT you will have to install TWRP and root afterwards
