UPDATE: There is an app in the play store called 'Advanced Wifi Lock (Free)' which fixes this problem and DOES NOT need root

Some (or maybe the most) users reported that the phone loses wifi signal after a few minutes in standby. I probably found a way to fix this. All you need to do is:
5. change the line 'gEnableSuspend=3' to 'gEnableSuspent=1'
PS: Keep in mind that unlocking the bootloader using htcdev will most likely void or at least constrain your warranty

Are you sure about the gEnableSuspenT (changing d to t)?

Update in post 1, no root required!
Yeah I found out about the wifi lock issue when I got my sony tablet, advanced wifi lock is the perfect solution!
for me the wifi lock causes very low standby hours. anyone having the same issue?
If I did not misunderstand what you mean by WiFi shutdown, there is an option in WiFi setting which keeps WiFi on even phone is in sleep mode (standby).
Go to:
WiFi list, menu, advanced, keep WiFi on during sleep, select always.
No 3rd party app needed.

That's exactly why this thread exist...
the 'keep on' function doesn't work for some users.

OK, if that's the case, ignore my post then, but I did not really see any where mentioning the "keep one" function not working in this thread, so had no idea... maybe good to add it somewhere just to avoid further confusion
By the way, the "keep on" function works fine for me, so maybe something to do with the router? or wifi band (802.11a/b/n)?

Have been looking for this solution awhile... finally found something that is useful!!! Thanks a lot!!!
This app causes massive battery drain. For me, I updated my device with ics ruu and this problem was gone, but a week ago when I did a factory reset the problem reappeared.

Thanks for sharing. I would've tried it out if it weren't for the fact that my current rom has no problems with wifi connectivity at all.
However, I will keep this app in mind just in case .
Recently my Facebook app stopped working on my surface rt,when I open it it says "no content", have tried refreshing, uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck,i can connect to Facebook normally through browser,im running windows rt 8.1,can you help? Thanks

I know it sounds strange, but its because the date and time aren't set correctly. Even if it's one minute off it'll cause issues. It's something to do with security; firewall will block some internet programs.
I set it to match internet time, then set it to auto update and it's been fine ever since.

are you talking about tablet time??i will check mine, also where do you set auto update??

if you want to change the settings of time's auto updating, go to Control Panel>Clock, Language and Region>Date and time>Internet Time (tab)> Change Settings there.. You must have checked the "Sychronise with an Internet time server" and the server must be "time.windows.com", then click "Update Now "and "Ok".
This will set your time auto update.
thanks for that,i did all that facebook app still no good,no content or news feed, just a blank page although i am logged in,never mind i can still access facebook through my browser, once again thanks

I thought I'd start this thread to raise awareness and stop some confusion. It looks like there is a bug in Android Lollipop where under certain circumstances, the battery chart/graph always shows WiFi was on even though it was switched off. This is with "scanning always available" set to OFF of course.
A google code bug has been submitted for this: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=81501&colspec=ID Type Status Owner Summary Stars
What I've found reproduces the problem:
1) Make sure "WiFi scanning always available" is OFF.
2) Connect to a WiFi access point.
3) Physically leave that area of the access point so that the WiFi disconnects because you've gone out of range.
4) Disable WiFi from the settings.
5) Observe the battery chart will continue to show WiFi on, forever, until you re-enable WiFi, reconnect to another WiFi access point, and then disable WiFi.
This hasn't been fixed in 5.1 :'(
No issue here and I manage my WiFi manually. So my question is: do you manually manage your WiFi or do you use an app or a rom feature based on profiles, hours,...?

I do use an app to do it, but that's besides the point, I'm able to reproduce this manually. Did you follow the steps I posted in the first post?

Thanks for confirming. Yea pretty annoying how they won't fix such simple bugs, thought for sure this would be gone in 5.1.

Yeup it's a visual glitch with the battery graph. As OP said it only happens if you disable the WiFi once leaving the WiFi network area, if you disable it while still connected it shows as off properly in the graph.
Any fix has been found for this bug? Because I'm on Chroma 5.1.1 and this still occurs.

Just to inform you guys.. The hotspot mod where you download Shortcut Master Lite from the play store and edit the 2Apn's by adding "dun" is working on the Sprint Note 8. ???
Any hotspot for Note 20 like "dun" ?
Anyone try this or something similiar on Note20 ?

If your having issues
Please note that cre1 update will unpatch the hotspot after few minutes of using. You will have to downgrade to Crd7 (Odin) for this patch to work and ignore the update.
Dont update past Crd7

Edit the "APN2 LTE internet"
Look for the "APN type"
The Default should be " default, mms"
Add ",dun" to the end of it.
And the finish product should be "default, mms, dun"
Make sure you save your modification. Hope this helps.

Do a search for "LTE"
Look for the instance "LTEFunctionality Test" "com.test.LTEFunctionality"
Once open, look for "LTE APN Settings"
There should be two which you can edit, the first is " APN2 EHRPD internet"
The second is APN2 LTE internet, this is the one you would like to edit.
Scroll down to "APN type" and add the ",dun" and done.
What if its shaded out how can we get it to work then.

Unlimited?
So this would be unlimited hotspot on my unlimited network from Sprint? and also I noticed that it wont let me open my sprint app anymore after adding ,dun
My guess this happens due to block the app from tracking your hotspot usage? I have 10GB of hot spot and I used this method then went back to normal settings again without ,dun and restarted my phone the My sprint app opened and well I be damned but it did not track my usage I still have 0 data out of 10GB used! I guess I will just have to disable it when I want to check my activity on the My sprint app, this is awesome!!! :good:
If I'm wrong please let me know

Or you could simply check your activity on the web via PC.
Personally I don't even bother, as it's unlimited. Or, reset the changes and change back whenever you get curious. Either way works

Oh yeah went thru the same thing using this method on the s7 with the unlocked firmware. I couldn't believe it wasn't registering, because I wasn't rooted. It's true though, it works. I would test it jus like you're thinking, by using the hotspot without the mod. It would count the data up while I watched. Then I made these edits, and BOOM! No more data was showing on the hotspot usage on the Sprint site. Didn't have any issues for a year. Then the phone broke [emoji28]

Not working QI5. Hotspot turns on, and I'm able to log in to hotspot, but no data. After turning off hotspot, I have to switch airplane mode on and off to get data back. Weird stuff.
So I went into *#*#4636#*#* and I putted my phone in my pocket with screen on.
I took it out of my pocket and I saw set bandmode 23 successful.
No my question is, how can I revert this.
I've tried every different bandmode there is to select
Euro: gives me Edge connection and I can call
Bandmode 43. Gives me 4g but I can't call.
Not in the *#*#4636#*#* menu but in something else
I know about the engineering mode and I know how to enter it too. There is an option bandmode and bandmode2 both with over 100 different modes
Setting it to auto from this even more secret menu still didn't work.
To get in this mode download shortcut manager from gp.
Open app tap 3 dots and click app explorer.
Scroll down to com.oneplus.factorymode tap it
In there you will find bandmode and bandmode2
Any fix? I've tried every possible fix.
I'd like to call and use mobile data.
I would contact oneplus support if I were you
Move your sim into the other slot if it's not occupied, otherwise I found this method. I have not tried it yet, though.

Ya, don't go playing with the band selection, or you may just get dropped to 2g connection with no LTE possible.

Download the "Network Signal Guru" app from the Play Store.
I told it to "Clear Forcings" in the menu, and LTE is back up.
