[Completed] ipaq h5550 and h4700 advice / guidance - XDA Assist

Hello, I'm a first time poster, who would very much appreciate some advice please.
I have recently been given an HP ipaq H5550 with docking station, and it does power up. It has a Rom Revision of 1.10.10. I'd like to know if this ipaq can be upgraded at all, either with a new OS and how to go about upgrading it, or even where to get software for this from, even something like a basic drawing program that my nephew could use without it being online.
It does see my wifi network, but won't connect to it, I know though it is something I'm doing wrong, just not sure what.
My friend also still has his H4700, and would appreciate a similar answer. Can this model be upgraded with a new OS at all ?
Any comments would be appreciated, or any links where we could send the ipaqs to in order to be upgraded so that it's done by those with experience would also be appreciated.
Thank you

Hi,
Since that's an older device, and a PDA, which is not really the focus here on xda, it may be hard to find help on that. But, you could create a thread here and maybe you'll find members who know about it,

Good luck! :good:

HP ipaq 6715 prototype - firmware availble?

Hi,
i know this forum isn't about that kind of devices, but maybe somebody can help me anyway.
i bought that ipaq 6715b(probably a prototype) today and found out that this device isnt't a commercial version with support etc.
the thing is that it hangs on startup, so i can't use it all.
i would like to know if somebody can suggest me to write another firmware to it to make it working again. i tried to flash the 6515/6510 FW, but of course the update isn't accepted because of the wrong Modell-ID.
does somebody might have another idea what to do with it, or should i just put in the trash can?
i've attached some pictures in case somebody is interested in it...
Regards,
Melgar

I could really use some help

Hello,
I am new to this forum community. This is actually my first post ever.
I own the cingular 8125. I recently aquired a bluetooth stereo headset, hoping to utilize media options on the go. I bought the Southwing sa505, which seems to be a great product, except for the fact that it will not work with my phone. I have contacted Cingular/att, Southwing, and the HTC people. Everyone knows that I need the A2DP hack, but nobody can tell me where to get it.
I've done my own searching using the various engines, but all I can find are waves and waves of forums-no actual links to any type of file. If you guys can help me resolve my frustration in this matter, then I will become a financial contributor.
I am so tired of dead ends, please try to give me a response, whether you can help me or not.
Thank you for your time,
James Coyle

Welcome to the forum.
Usually people here tell n00bs with such questions to keep searching but since you offered us money...
Just kidding!
Seriously though:
Please read the first page of this thread. You will find a download link, full instructions and even screen shots. Though it is not specific for your device it is for very similar model (just no keyboard) and should work just fine for you. (As far as I know this is the only patch available).
In the future I recommend you post questions specific to your device in the Wizard subsection (that is what your phone is called here).
P.S.
This hack is a ripoff from another phone. No official solution exists which is why any of the companies you contacted couldn't help you.

[Completed] Applying Custom ROM on a "No-name" budget Tablet.

I really really hope this is the right place to be asking this, I don't want to flood a place i,ve only just discovered, but I've tried to figure this out on my own and have had little luck, So some insight would be very much appreciated.
So The situation is: I have a budget tablet that came pre-installed with adware and (i think) malware. I've heard of people fixing these sort of things by "Rooting" the tablet and removing the issue. Well my tablet came Pre-rooted, so after looking around some more, i found out about Customs ROMs. Further investigation revealed that most customs ROMS don't support my kind of Tablet, Which is a Tagital (That's where the no-name comes in) T10 10.1 inch tablet. My purchase of this tablet was mostly my fault, as i bought on impulse and didn't look at the reviews at all, which blatantly expose the issues with the tablet.
Now, what I'd like to know is: Is there a way for me to apply a custom ROM even though my tablet is unsupported? I'd like to avoid returning this tablet, so i'd like to get the best out of the situation.

Archos diamond plus

Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum, and the reason I came here was to gather any information (if any) about a possible rooting process for my smartphone, Archos Diamond Plus.
I have this smartphone for about 1 month and half now, it rolls exceptionally well, no trouble there. Only thing I find irritating is the complete inability of any rooting process I've tried so far to work on this phone. So here I am asking:
Can anyone help me on this front? Does anyone know and is willing to share any information about any possible rooting process for Archos Diamond Plus?
I look forward to your replies and I thank in advance anyone who will take time out of his/her life to take a look at this thread.
P.S. I am well aware that this is NOT the correct place for this thread, but being a new user on this forum and all, my posting abilities are limited. I am hereby asking the mods, if they'd be so kind, to transfer this thread to its proper location if it poses any problem being here.
