Alcantara - Google Pixel XL Accessories

Can someone tell me what exactly this material is? What does it feel like? Is it like a cloth texture? Does the oils from your hands discolor it? I ask that because I civil has a REALLY nice case now, made of a canvas looking cloth type stuff. Looks REALLY good, the CARNABY. Problem is unless you get the black one the olive and gray one both get discolored by the oils in your habds in like 2 days. Is Alcantara like that? Thinking about the SlickWraps Alcantara back.

Alcantra is the backside of leather. It feels like suede and is used in interiors of German luxury brand cars.

Real Alcantra, maybe. But, what Slickwraps is selling is a synthetic. According to their web site it is "Made from polyester and polyurethane." So, there shouldn't be any staining issues.

Note 4 Cases for Females

Trying to get some ideas of cases that ladies would like. Any help would be appreciated.
Body glove satin pink or charcoal grey would be nice for a female...it's a super slim attractive case and att has it in stock. ..you can check it out at this website although they have no stock http://www.bodyglovemobile.com/cell-phone-cases/samsung/galaxy-note-4/satin/?scheme_id=404
That's not bad at all. Much appreciated.
I'm getting this one for every day use: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N174VAE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and I've got this one on order for occasions when I don't want to carry a separate wallet: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NL5WOP0/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AWSTL9OR9CVRW
I tried using the flip covers for a while, but it was just annoying after a while. I like slim cases that allows my phones to still fit my back jeans pocket.
Here are a few:
Samsung S-View Flip Cover in red or white
Case Thin Fit by Spigen in white or mint
Case Mate Sheer Glam Case
Ringke Slim by Rearth
Incipio Highland in light silver/white (the pink is rather ugly imo)
The Octane Frost/Neon Pink looks much better
Saw these on OtterBox.
OtterBox Cases
Oh man why don't they have that one in white..

I got a few friends with the bodyglove, I'm not impressed with it for some reason when holding it in my hands. Maybe it's just me.
I think a girl with little hands would like slim cases over bulky ones. The note is already a big phone, add a bulky case and you have a brick... I too would recommend the Ringke Slim case. I have the white case on white phone. Putting them together looks super clean and nice, might be a little too girly for me that's why I'm getting a new case to switch off sometimes.

Bodyglove has many types of cases I'm sure your friends don't have the Bodyglove satin, other bodyglove cases can seem bulky....but the satin gives you protection, slimmness, and a fashionable design...

I didn't mean to say the bodyglove satin is bulky, was just saying in general I prefer slimmer cases to bulky cases. And yes my friends do have the satin cases, not for their note 4s though, but for the G3, iPhones, M8 etc. but they are all pretty much the same, made of this bendable rubbery or gel like material, which I'm not a fan of. Personally I don't like the look of it. But Good thing about it is that it's slim and has superb grip. Other people may have positive opinions of them which is completely fine. If op would like to try out another type of slim case with more color options, I'd recommend checking out the ringke slim for less than half the cost of the bodyglove. She can buy 2 different colors and still have some change left over.
ooh thanks for the suggestions the Case Mate Sheer Glam Case is divine! I like the Incipio Highland too!

Shop-leather has some nice looking wallet cases with wrist straps. They are expensive though and ship times are looong.
Can anyone verify if the casemate sheer glam case covers the bottom mic hole for the verizon version ? if you don't have the verizon version if the microphone hole cutout on the bottom left gives exposure to about 3mm more left that would answer my question as well. also have you noticed yellowing where you hold the phone on the case? thanks
I'm using the original Samsung case in red, none of those awfull pink cases for me thank you... [emoji39]

leather sleeve

Anyone know of a quality leather sleeve?
I used to be quite a fan of http://www.senacases.com/ , back with my original iphone 2G I had their slim leather pouch case.
Unfortunately, they don't have cases for the Moto X... However, you may want to check the phone's dimensions in comparison to other phones and maybe you can find one that still fits.
I've found that sleeves and cases for the Samsung Galaxy S5 are a good fit for the 2014 X. I bought one of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L1V9HW4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it fits perfectly. Even snap-in flip cases work, but you have to modify the cutout for the X's volume buttons.
Depends on what kind of leather sleeves you like OP. I ordered one after a while of debating really... They have multiple colours here.

Thanks. How is the fit? What is the interior like? My biggest concern is that if dirt or sand is easily embedded in the lining, sliding the phone in an out of it could scratch the glass.

So it's more like a soft cloth inside. I've always had a screen protector on all my phones using this (have used the same type of sleeve for other phones as well) so never thought of scratches.
I've been using the Snugg Galaxy S5 Pouch since October and put all my cards in the front. The picture with the card in the front is not the actual color, that's just the flash from the camera.

I ended up getting one from saddleback leather. Its full grain, quality leather with a 100 year guarantee so I can't complain
The iPhone 6 fits perfect its a little tight at first but is great once it breaks in
My leather case
I have this one which I really like.

They do felt and leather. I actually really like the felt.

Full-grain leather wrap from Toast is finally available!

Needs more pictures. Button side, top, bottom, and front. To judge case/screen protector compatibility, the front needs to be very zoomable to see the plastic ring between glass and metal.
Yessss i emailed them a long time ago and the said this was something they were thinking of making. $44 seems a little steep though. Whos gonna be the ginny pig and get one?
Is the visor part attached or is it a second piece?
I just ordered one. Knowing toastmade it will take them a couple of weeks before they ship it. I bet it will be beautiful though.
I would buy it, but I would like more pictures or a full review of this case from someone. =)

It's full-grain leather (the best you can get) from American cattle, sent to Europe to be tanned and back to Oregon Leather Company. Once dyed and finished, the leather is shipped to us, then we laser cut and handcraft to perfection. It's quite a process, and it took us quite some time to get the 6P all dialed in. The leather is ~1.5mm thick, so it'll take any drop and the phone won't wear through on the corners like the super thin Horween used by others. With that being said, we made the wrap all one piece; without the visor coverage, the surrounding leather would protrude and look pretty bad.
True story: Matias (owner) unknowingly dropped his leather wrapped iPhone outside his house when dropped off by a cab late one night. The next day, he managed to track it down at a neighbors' using the "Find my iPhone" feature. He determined that the cab had ran over the phone; there were even little pieces of gravel imbedded into the leather which managed to take all of the damage. Replaced the shattered screen and it was as good as new.

More pics and reviews are in the works. FYI - the leather is ~1.5mm thick. You could surely apply the front panels atop a screen protector, but I don't think you'll be able to cram it into a case. Honestly, I don't see why you'd want to case that smooth, buttery leather. It'll take any drop and the phone won't wear through on the corners like the super thin Horween used by others.

Just out of interest, what made you choose slickwraps over dbrand?
I've only ever dealt with dbrand so far so I'm not really aware of how the different companies compare and what they actually do different?
The toastmade stuff I've seen on the internet does look top notch.

I guess I'd have to see it in person, from that picture it almost makes the phone look plastic.

I wanted a real leather skin for my 6P. I don't think dbrand sells real leather skins.

I just replaced my dbrand black leather (vinyl) with a slick wraps real leather one. It was a lot easier to apply, I don't think the fit is quite as exact, but the feel of it is so much better.

Okay, its official. The Slickwraps leather skin sucks. The leather is thin and plasticity feeling. It does provide grip though. It will have to do until my toastmade skin comes in though.

Will be interesting to hear feedback on the quality and fit of the toastmade wrap.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dbrand skins. I've got a combo of the light and dark brushed metal and it was like applying Armour it was that thick and good quality! Love how they give you some spare pieces as well.

I might bite. I would love a real carbon fiber version like the wood.
A carbon fiber pattern in the leather would do.

I would like to know if you used the Slickwraps leather or the Slickwraps "Natural Series" leather (one is real leather, the other is vinyl). I was considering the Slickwraps Natural Series because it looked fairly modest (doesn't cover the entire back), is less than $30 and looks fairly nice. However, if it is really thin and feels like plastic, I'll pass on it. Thanks!

My new favorite Note 9 case - Gear4 Battersea

This is my new favorite Note 9 case. Same rubbery material as the Tech 21 with better bottom and back protection. The whole inside is protected with the orange D30 material.
Real grippy. great feeling case.
Looks good. How slack is the left side where the Bixby button side is?

Nice case.. But I second this opinion...
Glossy black cases get so greasy with fingerprints and also show micro scratches very easy..
Couldn't agree more re those glossy/shiny sides.
The glossy sides are actually.very grippy/sticky. They use the same glossy sides on their other models.
Their note 9 cases for me seem to be step down to what they had for the note 8.

Unless Samsung brings the alcantara Note 8 case for Note 9, there is no favourite case for me. I know a guy that claims he got one (preproduction? fake/replica?) from Alibaba but I can't find it anywhere. The rest all basically the same case made by hundreds of different companies/sellers and easy to spot; they are plastic all around and the buttons are not that great. Better than nothing but they don't compare to the real (only for Note8) thing.

Personally I think overall, the Spigen selection is the best.

You should order alcantara case from interiorex. Have found it great personally. The fake Samsung ones on AliExpress seem to be even dangerous for their scetchy chemicals, being thus probably imitation alcantara.

Are there any "grippy" cases out there yet?

I am coming from a Pixel 2XL and I was using a Pitaka carbon fiber case for the past year. That was one of the best cases I have ever used. The carbon fiber seemed to have a grippy or rubber coating over the case and I never dropped that thing. The TPU cases that claim to have grip are still nothing like what the Pitaka case had. I have reached out to Pitaka and it sounds like they won't be making a case for the Pixel anymore. Bummer.
If you're looking for a slim, non-tpu case check out the Spigen Thin Fit. I had one on my LG G7 and got one for my Pixel 4. No problems with grip and definitely better than a TPU or glossy plastic case that gets slippery when you're wet, sweating, or have greasy fingers or something.

The grip on the thin fit is good, but beware that the edges stick up past the screen, and they're sharp. They make using gestures really annoying. I stopped using mine for that reason. They didn't think that one through for the Pixel 4.

Yeah, I haven't had that issue really, I don't use the gestures too often, but I can see where you're coming from. I'm hoping they release a Thin Fit 360 in the future, which would correct this issue entirely (at the expense of having a two-piece case design). I had it on my G7 and it was perfect. The only problems I see with that type of case now are they hug the outside of the screen just a tiny bit and tempered glass screen protectors can interfere with installation.
I'm using the black Speck Presidio Grip case. Very grippy, doesn't slide easily on slick surfaces, good drop protection, and not bulky at all.

My Dbrand Grip case came in last week. I put a orange carbon fiber skin on the back so I could remember that I have the orange Pixel 4 XL. So far, so good. I haven't got anywhere near dropping it. I had the fabric case from Google before. It was a fine case but it attracted stains.
using moment photo case and yes the sides are grippy like the pixel 4's sides.
If I remember I'll report back when my Dbrand case arrives, it is literally called 'grip' but who knows if it is nicer than the Spigen armor with kickstand, it is quite grippy.
ESR cases are very grippy and also has a kickstand
I'm actually loving my moment case for the 4XL, the walnut wood really sets it off, the inside has soft suede like material to keep it from scratching. I used to have the pitaka on my 2XL and forced it on the 3XL, it was way slimmer. But I've come to accept a little extra bulk for protection and the ability to add lenses is really special, it actually transforms the ability of the already fantastic camera.
Anyone know of a case similar to the ones from smartish? The kung fu grip cases have a rough outer edge and have a grip to them that i like very much. Only for iphones though. Anything similar maybe?
I had purchased a case from the Google store with my phone since I was so pumped about it. It was 40 bucks that I never should have spent. Their case is a piece of molded cardboard wrapped in felt. There wasn't even any protection on the bottom. Not only that, but the case was really slippery; always felt like it was going to slide out of my hands.
So, I purchased a Spigen Tough Armor case from Amazon and could not be more pleased. It fits better (still not as grippy as I'd like) and feels much more durable.
Dbrand has sale running .. Grip case $15 ..
