Safest rooting tool - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hello,
I've got my S7 yesterday and can't live without Titanium and AdAway. I'm not sure if it's possible to root build MMB29K.G930FXXU1BPJE without bricking it? Which tool should I use? Don't I lose fingerprint support?
Thanks!

That's a good question . I'm looking to root without tripping Knox on my wifi version I just purchased off of ebay. I'm looking for an tar.md5 to start with.. Any help would be appreciated.
Same here. A White WiFi Note 12.2 64GB I bought off eBay, which according to Samsung's website, doesn't exist.
Hello,
Great tablet... I just got one off ebay myself and I see towelroot does not work- app not installed. I Allowed unknown sources in security. I am curious as to why you guys are concerned about tripping the knox since this I think this tablet would be out of warranty, unless you would not want to trip it for resale?
Any success on rooting so far? I am no too experienced but the first thing I'd like to do is get the apk from this enhanced s-note on all my other note tablets and phone.

I tried 2 different versions of Kingroot with no success.
Hi I used the cf auto root - check the 1st pic I attached. Once you plug in a windows pc it should download the samsung drivers then download that specific dl in the pic (I can't copynpaste on here)- it gives you the latest odin program download. It really easy from there. Once you reboot, supersu is there. I then dl'd root checker, titanium backup, busybox, root explorer and most important twrp manager from the play store. It was all too easy. I'm on 5.02 and I did check the knox and it started but stopped and said it couldn't be accessed at this time. I'm keeping the stock rom and just wiped dalvik and cache in recovery.

The most effective way to root this tablet is with Cf-autoroot. It will trip the Knox counter but it will permanently enable SuperSU on your device.
If you root your device you will NOT be able to take OTAs. If you run rooted stock firmware it will alert you that an update is available but most likely it will fail to install. I tried updating my firmware while rooted via Kies and it failed each time.

Root Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930W8 Exynos)

Hello everyone,
I just got my new S7 from Telus and my goal now is:
Root the phone
Install a clean stock ROM (bloatware-free)
Now I've been reading a bit but I'm a little unsure whether I'm looking at the best solution out there, or even if I'm on the right track.
These are the 2 options that I'm leaning towards following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/recovery-official-twrp-herolte-t3333770
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/sm-g930-exynos-cf-auto-root-t3337353
Can you tell me if the TWRP route is the best to follow?
Also, I can't seem to find a Stock ROM, can you point me to the right one for my phone? (Sorry, my searching and Googling skills needs an upgrade.)
Installing twrp wipes the phone, so you lose everything. If you install cfroot first on the other hand, you can backup your stuff with titanium backup and other apps and then install twrp and restore your apps at the end.

I'm ok with the wipe as I just got the phone today so I have nothing important there.
So would you suggest that I use TWRP over cfroot?
--Also, do you know where the right stock ROM is? I still can't find one.-- Oops, sorry I thought the link you have was part of your signature. I got my ROM now, taking a long time to download though. Haha.
Is there another download location I can use? I messed up the slow download and now I have to wait a long time just to start over with the slow download.
TWRP install does not wipe the phone. If you want to use TWRP to backup/restore data you have to format data (which does wipe the phone), because TWRP does not support the samsung encryption yet (no timeframe for this).
You could still use TWRP to install stuff on /system.
I would go cfroot and flashfire.
quick question here: I've got 930w8 from Bell (Canadian version). on https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ I Cannot see CF-auto-root root for W8 version.
Is it safe to guess that auto-root for 930f (exynos) will do the trick?

You can use Cf Auto root for G930F, is working
Hello!
Just wondering if this CF Root will work to root my device still?
It's April 4, 2017, so this thread is really old.
I've gathered that I can use CF-Auto Root G930F and have that downloaded..
I got my phone from Virgin and live in Canada
It's a Samsung Galaxy S7
Model Number : SM-G930W8 (LU2BQB6)
Android Version : 7.0
I'm trying to spoof Pokemon GO haha, and apparently I need to move some apps to a system folder or something.
First thing first though, figure out how to root.
Quite frankly, I'd be willing to send someone a couple bucks via paypal for any assistance at all.
I can tell you that cf autoroot for international model works on android 6.0.1, not sure if will do the job on android 7
S7 android 7.0 root
Is there a root for android 7.0 for an S7?

Need help rooting an S6

I want to root my S6 but I know nothing about rooting and such. I've tried towelroot, kingroot and pingpong but none of them seem to support my device.
It's model nr SM-G920F and the build number is MMB29K.G20FXXS3DPD3. I'd like to root it without triggering knox if possible, if it's not tell me what not to do as to avoid bricking it.
It's 6.0.1 Marshmallow
Sorry if this noobish of me to ask but I can't find any tuts with which I feel secure rooting, thanks!

Yes it does. I rooted it yesterday. But be careful with TWRP,
"recovery is not seandroid enforcing" may appear on boot, and u may experience a bootloop.
Keep a stock official rom in your pc, in case u want to recover. Use Odin

If you reaaaaaaally want to root, you can use this guide : https://www.thenextdroid.com/root-samsung-galaxy-a01-core-pc-magisk/
But beware, they use kingroot (a one-click root app) which isn't very good for your privacy, I won't recommend anyone to use it. If your phone isn't your daily driver go ahead but if not I strongly recommend to keep it like that (unrooted).
yes, go with magisk, the A01 is fully supported and very easy to install
just mind you it triggers knox and voids the warranty
but if the root is to remove apps and bloatware, you can do it without rootting using ADB
well, actually i have to advocate for not rooting the mobile, your privacy and safety is more more protected, and actually what do you need root for so badly?
you can debloat the device using adb, and not root needed for that
sure you can mod some things, but i it really worth risking your safety over that?

Well I never recommend those because of privacy and security and most of the time the app just doesn't work. I'll even prefer not to be rooted rather than using one of those.
Hello,
Finally, I can unlock the bootloader, flash twrp and root my Samsung Galaxy A01 (a01q) (SM-A015M).
All I need is just update to Android 11 and then I can unlock the bootloader and flash the magisk patched boot.img together the patched vbmeta.img.

Question Questions About Rooting Samsung A22 5G

Hi,
I am hoping someone can clear the following up for me, I have just upgraded from an Alcatel Pixi (Android 5.1.1) to a Samsung A22 5G phone and there have definitely been a LOT of changes in rooting phones since I rooted my Alcatel Pix. I understand that there are answers on Google to these questions but I am more interested in specifically the Samsung A22 5G not just generic.
1) Does KingRoot and similar programs still work to root?
2) Is there any way currently to stop Knox from being tripped?
3) Can Knox be reset - I remember this used to be able to be done?
4) Do I need to use a custom recovery for root?
5) Is it possible to relock the boot loader once I have rooted the phone?
6) Is it better to use Magisk or SuperSU?
Thanks in advance
