Hi,
Some people have ported Beats Audio, xLoud and Mobile Bravia Engine to several of the android phones.
Is it possible to port it to Atrix 2?
Will it really increase the performance?
There are several methods available online..
(A simple google search will show the results... I am not able to post the links as i am a new member)
Have anyone tried it??
Any senior members willing to try this?
-----------------------
P.S:- This is not a Q&A post.. This is meant for discussion of a general topic.

I have installed Beats Audio and it works fine, yes it does increase audio performance. To install Beats Audio you need to root your phone.
I haven't tried xloud and bravia, so I cant comment on that.

For the love of everything even remotely good in life, do not do this. Beats audio and really any other mod are TERRIBLE and degrade audio quality. if what you want is something that drives the base hard and washes everything else out, I suppose it does a damn good job, but it kills audio quality. If you want good performance, buy some decent headphones, nothing less than $100 or so, but you don't need anything crazy, and get a good player with an equalizer like poweramp.

I have never used it, but obviously none of these can change the hardware of the phone, they are basically fancy equalizers. All equipment is different, and that is the main point to equalizers (not to adjust sound for the type of music, the recordings are mixed how the producer intended, but to adjust for different listening hardware. for example, small headphones often need more bass volume to sound good, while large speakers might lack on the low to mid end.) That said, some of these enhancements might improve quality on the device they are intended for, as they can change what is needed to get good sound there.
You can try any of these, and see what you think, as everyone has different tastes, but to get the best quality sound, I would still recommend high quality listening gear, and a good equalizer you can play with to get the sound you want.
I mostly listen with ER6i in ear headphones, which are noise isolating (not electronic canceling), so they block a lot of sound, and have really good quality for in ear headphones. They don't make the same ones any more, but they were around $100, so I'm sure there is a replacement model. I use Poweramp as my player, and it has a 10 band EQ that I tweaked for my headphones to sound best.
Well i have installed all of these and my audio is better..performance is better. From my point of view..it doesnt hurt anything.

Shame on you! Difference of opinion I guess, but my guess is it is still the same as the tv store effect. the brighter the better seeming at fist glance.
Anyways, always feel free to try things out, but make sure you know how to remove them. I made a beats remover that is in the general section somewhere, but they might have updated since then, so no guaranty that it will work.
Beats audio thing was just a screw up. It made the audio quality bad for me. I tried Acid audio engine which worked fine. It did boost the audio quality for me a lil bit !

This is what i'm looking for "
"Cool, it works as desribed, arhd 40.3 android 4.4, elementalX
Many thanks mate!"
"I noticed a huge difference on being able to really "feel" the music after installing it... Sound is amazing man...every element of it is enhanced rather than just a focused few."
"The mod basically makes every single sound coming from the phone absolutely amazing. Everything I listen to has amazing clarity, bass and treble. Gaming is amazing ( example : Dead Space) I've been following this mod all the way through and the improvement is amazing from the beginning. SRS works like a beauty and everything sounds very balanced and natural with all genres of music."
"...i have to admit this Sound Explosion is better so naturally and powerfull crystal everything.
On max volume is so loud and on the same time pure no headache ears ache and i can feel the music lol.
I dont know what is inside the zip but is extraterreateial
I dont need anymore a EQ or PowerAmp the stock player is a BEAST
Thank you for this MOD IS REALLY A BEAST.
...hehehe now i know why this is called Sound Explosion and i never thinking befor the stock buds can reproduce sound like this..."
"Doc3000 u know u have THE BEST sound mode here.
U just did it once and thats it i try few diferent after each update they are not even closer to the sound of The Explosion.
For everyone who wonder THIS IS THE BEAST of the sound mods ever made.
When i travel and listen with the stock earbuds this mod make them to sound like hight end top ear buds.
I dont use anymore even beats."
"The mod works perfectly with all kinds of headphones. Love the mod and will support it till the end."
DESCRIPTION:
- sound mode based on BBE, SRS, VRS and Dolby sound technologies
- fully reworked M7 sound processing
Recommendations:
- recommended to listen to music without Beats in headphones and with Beats in speakers
(I use in my mode fully ported sound processing from the best music smartphone BBK Vivo Xplay. You don't need Beats Audio at all.
But it's better to turn ON Beats when you play music in speakerphones for Boomsound effect.)
In the headphones with Beats OFF:
- impressive sound with the overall clarity, natural not artificial
- perfect sound detailization and contrast
- definitive sound channels separation
- wide stereo field
- audio experience like in the theater space
- low harmonic distortion
In the speakerphones with Beats ON
- loud and powerfull sound
REQUIREMENTS
- ANY SENSE4.4 DEODEX/ODEX ROM without any sound mods
INSTALLATION:
- please make nandroid backup of your ROM
- install mod in custom recovery
- wipe cache and dalvik cache
CREDITS:
ALL credits go to DOC3000, I just modified 2 files for it to work on our device (originally made for HTC One)
Everything copied from OP
DOWNLOAD SENSE 6 - 4.4.2 RELEASE
For ROM developers: please don't include my sound mod in your ROMs without my permission. Thanks.

Obviously about more stuff.
If he wanted to say that this mod isn't good he'd say so ( or say something like "this mod needs more work" ).
This mod works with megaboom found here in these forums. But thanks for the awsome mod.. sound, sounds more crisp
This is definitely an effective mod. Highs en meds are louder and crisper. But I've noticed one thing. With beatsplayback.eq set at 1.1 ( another mod that comes with the insertcoin aroma), songs like Damian marley's " Welcome to jamrock" lose their bass and the speakers start cracking. This happens with beats on and with beats off
Quality effort on getting this to the m4, appreciated big time!
however, i still prefer viper4android http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223 it has a bit more oomph! and customization (thats just cos i'm a sound freak) imo. thanks tho.

Hi
Can anyone please recommend a good global equaliser app for the U11+?
I used to use Viper4Audio but as this is only for rooted phones it is hard finding a replacement that works as well on the U11+.
Thanks
Aussie
I literally embarked on a search for one today. I just got this device and already miss my old one which had a system-wide EQ. Here's the one I tried that worked. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devdnua.equalizer.free
I do get a notification prompt that the app is running in the background and that leaves me worried about battery drain. I shall keep searching until I find an almost perfect one or until a custom ROM with Dolby ATMOS gets released.

Thank you. Yes I agree. HTC releases a phone with quality audio DAC but no system-wide/global EQ.
V4A is ideal but only works on rooted phones with permissive kernel, so for now we are left searching.
Cheers

Hi I tried that app but as soon as I put the higher frequencies up the volume decreased and it changed the dynamics of the sound a fair bit. Same with the bass.
There ust be compatability factors with some devices that have enhanced (preset) EQ.
Cheers
Aussie

I use Neutron. It's not system-wide,but its 30-band equalizer gives pretty awesome sound. My Youtube sounds pretty decent with these Usonic setups i have. About viper i don't know if it's good for our device. It only has 48khz drives. You are right though. I miss Viper sound... HTC must give us in a future update(...)a system equalizer
Hi.
I use Poweramp.
That's the perfect HiRes player.
Perfect sound on Bluetooth and on cabled headphones.
Just great.
Take care

What do people expect out of Dolby Atmos? I'm kinda curious. I'm an audio technician and I do get the benefits for mixing or cinemas but on a phone it seems to me like big marketing to sell more stuff.

That may be but Dolby Atmos is an object based playback system. Instead of having a fixed 5.1 setup Dolby Atmos positions a virtual object in a room and calculates the loudness for each speaker. The idea is that you could add more speakers without changing the whole cinema sound mix. It would simply recalculate everything in real-time.
That's why I don't understand what Dolby Atmos should do in a phone. If you output it to a surround setup yeah I guess that'll do but for headphones or the integrated speaker or even stereo I doesn't make a difference.
Only other adjustments within the software could make a difference. So Dolby Atmos alone isn't particularly useful. Other settings from HTC or the Beats can. To be clear: I do believe that the sound was great but I don't thing Dolby Atmos itself played a role in it

To top it off, Atmos is a proprietary techology licensed from Dolby, so what OP is asking is straightforward piracy/theft.
