In my opinion beats audio really hurts the audio quality with good players like poweramp. therefore I made this little zip to help people remove it. It should work on any rom, but I take no responsibility if it doesn't (please tell me though so I can try to fix it).
To install: copy zip to root of sdcard, make a backup in CWM (recommended), then just chose zip from sdcard and flash it.
all it does is delete all the beats files and add back a few in an unmodified form.
file is attached
Nice work! We need more uninstall scripts in my opinion. So its not like all or nothing when installing add-ons and themes. Even though I don't have Beats I thank you.

thanks, I wish our roms had more options for these things upon install or something, or at least more settings like cm7 has. this was super easy to make, it just took forever since I had to type the name of every file and make sure I didn't need to replace it.
Nice. Good to see that you figured it all out...
works on galaxy ace 2th gen
i just wanted to confirm this workx on 2th gen galaxy ace (the i version)
This is great. I am pretty sure I saw a couple Beats removers floating around but I feel much better using one by lkrasner. Thanks man! Keep doing stuff like this!
big problem
tried the beats remover on my galaxy sl and now i've lost all my audio... no sound from music..no notification sounds. no ringtone.... but can hear calls..

When the removal utility was available for a particular phone, A2 in this case, why use this on any other phone
Good job Ikrasner! :good:

Sorry man, I hope you took a backup. This was intended for the A2. The removal part will work on any, but there are some files that are device specific to be added back.

I am on NeoRom v 2.1 and I love it.. But as the update contained mod of Xloud and Beats audio, I cant experience anything new in yhe sound quality...
So I tried other equilizers as well like Equilizer and DSP manager..
Equilizer downloaded from market and DSP manager provided by pankaj88 sir.. But its always force closing..
Then I tried Beats audio EQ settings from market, but it was not upto the mark..
So I request someone if they can provide with the perfect Beats audio EQ settings..
I want my R to have sound effects like HTC one X..

No one can give you perfect EQ settings buddy. The EQ settings are normally determined by your taste i.e. what type of music you like & the medium used to listen to it.
eg Assume you are a bass head and you want your speakers to output more bass, in that case you just amp up the lower frequencies in the EQ to get it to the level you want.
The best way would be to test different EQ settings & finally settle with one which is of your taste.
BTW do you know which sound chip does HTC One X use?
Hmmm.. Ill try that..
I dont know which chip is used.. My friend has bought it.. Ill check and let you know..

Also if u interested in beat-making
can share with u some samples from Lucid Samples.
Which type of beats do u prefer?
sooo about those audio enhancements supposedly put into the apparently most popular kernel for the Evo Shift...
are they supposed to do ANYTHING WHATSOEVER?
heres the list of roms ive been through
XPERIAnceZen (currently using), JellyBelly, Motoblur'd, ShiftyBastard
Now XPERIAnce, JellyBelly and Motoblur'd use the same kernel, Strapped365's custom kernel, while ShiftyBastard has a different one (if I recall)
The roms sporting strapped's kernel boast audio enhancements built into the kernel, as does Shifty.
Motoblur'd claims to have XLoud, ClearAudio+ and Noozxoide. Nothing works. Noozy and Noozxoide both quit before they open. Even tried putting them in \system\app as suggested on its thread. DSP Manager does nothing.
Same problem with JellyBelly and XPERIAnce.
ShiftyBastard's Noozy and Noozxoide enhancements work amazingly! but the rom is god awful on performance and have had some issues with apps not opening, particularly games like Dead Space, Beat Hazard and Air Attack.
My question is how do i get the enhancements to cooperate if they are built into the first 3 roms or how do I get ShiftyBastard to play nicely with my apps?
Where does it state that the kernel is responsible for these?

i suppose it doesn't >_< i may be under misinformation that audio tweaks are set by the kernel. actually i may have misread the JellyBelly V6 notes
***Note: If you are wanting to use a third party music app please use another version, it probably won't work on v6. There are a lot of audio mods in v6.***

is it a build.prop tweak perhaps? i tried installing the Pimp My Beats audio mod and it mentions adding the mod to the build.prop. im no developer at all, though i have had quite a few ideas for overall performance and visual appeal. these may be of my own preference towards the og HTC Sense and Rosie tweaks in MicRunny roms. maybe i should read up more on development processes if i wish to join the club ^_^
anyway, is there anything that can be done with my situation? is this a recurring problem or are there actually no enhancements working?
any help and insights whatsoever? ive returned to my favorite Supreme Sense rom and might stick with it if there really isnt anything i can do. but i do love the ICS and JB roms available to us. as i cant physically ask in dev section just yet, im really hopeful somebody can point me in the right direction.
also if anyone would like to post what DOES exactly control the audio mods (libs and such or the like) please let me know. id like to do some poking
MotoBlur'd was untested by me (bad idea) I still need to fix it. I have gotten about three people that say the same thing as you (all phones are different)... There is a lot more to audio mods than just the build.prop lines.... Try flashing this on a 4.0+ AOSP ROM:http://db.tt/nPFqNEj0 If this doesn't work you probably have a hardware problem.
It depends on what audio mod you are talking about as to the files needed. But the link above is all the files needed for the audio mod on MotoBlur'd.
And as BigSplit said none of these are in the kernel... All in /system.
thanks ill give those files a go.
not really sure if its a hardware issue as im not having problems with the Supreme Sense DSP manager or the HTC Dolby/SRS/EQ. but like you said, each phone is different. either way ill report back later on this when i have a free minute. i work at a repair shop so i basically get to play with my phone and others all day ^_^ is there anywhere i can look around in the system folders to test a few tweak theories out?

That is a combination of three different audio mods, so those are the most common folders and files tweaked. Hope that helps.

Wait DSP Manager is in MotoBlur'd? Delete it! Crap that's why it doesn't work and why Noozy is FCing. Dang, I'm gonna try and fix that ROM tomorrow... I really screwed up on that ROM, my fault for releasing without testing.:banghead:

so because im a glutton for my own failings im about to flash a slightly modded version of your Motoblur'd to one of my own shifts. basically i removed dsp manager and libcyanogen-dsp.so, moved noozy and the motoblurd theme apk and edited the audio_effects.conf file. ill post back my results for ya
fyi noozy and noozxoide still dont open
while it didnt hurt anything, nothing gained either. if you want someone to test out the fix, assuming you find it, count me first in line. your rom is awesome and super smooth regardless if the audio tweaks work or not
one more thing...i noticed the Sony Xloud references also applied in your rom, though there doesnt appear to be an option for it in the music effects section. any chance there may be an issue there somewhere as well?

Bro just flash awesome beats, clear audio+, and bravia 2. I've done it on countless ROMs and a few devices including my shift, original evo, HP Touchpad, Nexus 7, and mums Acer Iconia a100.
It always adds to the sound and makes the equalizer work.

Bro none of those installs made a lick of difference. though i must admit using TWRP to install Awesome Beats was actually pretty...awesome *knee slap* why dont more zip installers have there own interface for installing?!
U mean aroma installer? More don't have them because its alot of extra effort for little/no reward unless u want to make some things optional

which is exactly why i personally think the effort is more than worth it! think of the possibilities! with a bit more development in the roms you can allow people to use a preferred music app, install different tweaks and apps while negating others from being installed all together. customization, isnt that what custom roms are all about?
Well from your other thread it sounds like your audio enhancement problem may be hardware related.

Hi,
Some people have ported Beats Audio, xLoud and Mobile Bravia Engine to several of the android phones.
Is it possible to port it to Atrix 2?
Will it really increase the performance?
There are several methods available online..
(A simple google search will show the results... I am not able to post the links as i am a new member)
Have anyone tried it??
Any senior members willing to try this?
-----------------------
P.S:- This is not a Q&A post.. This is meant for discussion of a general topic.

I have installed Beats Audio and it works fine, yes it does increase audio performance. To install Beats Audio you need to root your phone.
I haven't tried xloud and bravia, so I cant comment on that.

For the love of everything even remotely good in life, do not do this. Beats audio and really any other mod are TERRIBLE and degrade audio quality. if what you want is something that drives the base hard and washes everything else out, I suppose it does a damn good job, but it kills audio quality. If you want good performance, buy some decent headphones, nothing less than $100 or so, but you don't need anything crazy, and get a good player with an equalizer like poweramp.

I have never used it, but obviously none of these can change the hardware of the phone, they are basically fancy equalizers. All equipment is different, and that is the main point to equalizers (not to adjust sound for the type of music, the recordings are mixed how the producer intended, but to adjust for different listening hardware. for example, small headphones often need more bass volume to sound good, while large speakers might lack on the low to mid end.) That said, some of these enhancements might improve quality on the device they are intended for, as they can change what is needed to get good sound there.
You can try any of these, and see what you think, as everyone has different tastes, but to get the best quality sound, I would still recommend high quality listening gear, and a good equalizer you can play with to get the sound you want.
I mostly listen with ER6i in ear headphones, which are noise isolating (not electronic canceling), so they block a lot of sound, and have really good quality for in ear headphones. They don't make the same ones any more, but they were around $100, so I'm sure there is a replacement model. I use Poweramp as my player, and it has a 10 band EQ that I tweaked for my headphones to sound best.
Well i have installed all of these and my audio is better..performance is better. From my point of view..it doesnt hurt anything.

Shame on you! Difference of opinion I guess, but my guess is it is still the same as the tv store effect. the brighter the better seeming at fist glance.
Anyways, always feel free to try things out, but make sure you know how to remove them. I made a beats remover that is in the general section somewhere, but they might have updated since then, so no guaranty that it will work.
Beats audio thing was just a screw up. It made the audio quality bad for me. I tried Acid audio engine which worked fine. It did boost the audio quality for me a lil bit !

Root ur fone and download PIMP MY ROM from GPlay it has all the above mod's
Be careful when u install them do it on a stock ROM......
As iksraner says its really BS and isn't worth downloading .........
I have be a very long user of Project Desire on bro Wolbreak's rom and m still using it, Last night bro Rajeev's PureX for z3 came out, I was just testing it, on that way I found XTreme Music Mode by bro AndroidXpert
I dont know which one is better or clearer for now, I have tweaked everything on Viper4android app that came with that mod and sometimes I feel like I miss DSEE HX?
Anyone got any idea about the differences?
I know its better than stock but If you could share your experiences I will be very grateful to ya.
