Smoki too But remember, it's just a launcher. If you want a complete set of things, you would have to create your own theme
as what Klothius said
Can you share the launcher.apk capy and klothius? I'd like to try and implement it in my own mix.

Samsung Galaxy S phone and dial pad apps
Hmmm is there anyway to port the Galaxy S contact APKs and other UIs? I've just recently changed mine to Cyanogenmod and seems to me the stock UI is pretty boring.
Sure, go on and have a look at any Galaxy ROM.. The pngs are only for HDPI and there will likely be none for our MDPI devices as AFAIK there are no TouchWiz MDPI phones.
A few months ago I tried it myself, but it was pain to get all the images right..
I can give you touchwiz app just install it

Ah that kinda sucks. Hmmm i guess the only option is to upgrade my phone then. Hmmm just an off-topic question, should i get the Motorola Atrix, LG optimus 2x or the Samsung Galaxy S2

There is a port of MDPI Touchwiz app on the forums i have the app if you want it i can give it to you, but its slow i think that LP and ADW are much faster
touchwiz
Hmmm, well then could you give me the link?
ok i have looked online and i have seen that on other Samsung android phones you can remove touchwiz by installing a "stock" rom, but to me a stock rom is the one with Touchwiz.... can someone link me to a rom thats stable and doesnt have touchwiz....im new to this phone and been using the inspire 4g but the glass shattered...i understand i will have to root phone that i know but the roms for this phone nobody seems to post pictures of what they look like.
Best rom that's stable and most themed is Sky ice cream rom by Sean. GO flash it hands down the best rom in our dev forum.

thanks i just felt wierd coming from inspire thier development area has some really really good roms for that phone, came here and was just overwhelmed with the choices and none seemed to stand out among the crowd. Ill give it a go i just really really despise touchwiz ui and its the reason i normally stay away from sammy phones, that and the fact samsung is extremely slow to put out new os's on their phones if they ever do...got burnt on the Behold 2 never got my update cause they never put it out.
Yap its still young phone and we still have more roms compare to vivid and holiday combine. Once ICS comes than it will be different flashing game haha

So does the Sky ICS ROM have Touchwiz removed? You state it is themed... but never removed... I just ask because I am very curious about this phone, but depise the iPhone rip-off that touchwiz brings to android.
You won't see touchwiz unless you chose that launcher and if you don't chose that launcher than you won't see touch wiz. You got option there like ICS launcher and every other things like setting, contacts, and stuff is ics themed.

exactly, you don't need to root or flash a custom rom to get rid of Touchwiz. For example, download "Gingerbread Launcher" and set as default when it prompts you. Turns your phone into a vanilla gingerbread android phone and Touchwiz is gone. I use ADW Launcher Ex and set it to "Fast" preset. Phone absolutely flies and no sign of Touchwiz anywhere. Stock everything for me.
ive been having issues with ever single rom in here. my fav the nexusmod, facebook app doesnt work it makes me use the browser, a few others camera doesnt work or gps doesnt work. or its overclocked which makes the battery die faster. i just want a damn rom thats as basic as it can be but still have everything work... and only reason i hate touchwiz launcher is i dont use the email app and from what i read you cant remove it from that launcher bar.

WTF?
really?
does anyone actually understand that Touchwiz is MORE than a launcher?
and you cant remove it from the launcher bar? where did you hear such asinine things?
its pretty well documented all over the Touchwiz device forums how the launcher bar works....SMH
app drawer
menu button

customizable grid

Really? I make it my business to never take part in flaming or making a member feel unwanted, but really? What have you contributed to the community to make such a demand? Such a request shows your ignorance towards the hard work and dedication that is put into the work that you use for FREE!
If you are not satisfied with the the work the community provides, don't use it. I speak for the entire development community when I say Restore your device to stock and STFU you ungrateful bastard.
If i offended anyone, I apologize but it's individuals like this guy that make devs feel unappreciated.

Ok, so maybe I'm a bit thik in this smartphone thingie, sorry to post on S II.
I got an i9070 (SGSAdvanced) and I would like to remove Touchwiz, since I got APEX installed. Now... from what I gather here, Touchwiz is a different, more complex animal then APEX and basically can't/shouldn't be removed? If so, does it slow down my phonw, like say... a PC with 2 OS installed(e.g.: Windows7+Ubuntu)?
I got Titanium and RomManager too, all the free versions. I'll gladly pay full versions when I'll be a bit used to them, learning atm, same case with APEX. Altough I don't know what APEX full has extra yet.
Anyway. I thankd the people that answered already, hoping for a YES you can remove, NO, you can't remove, BUT you can make it so it doesn't draw resources, and THIS is the Dumbie link for doing that.
Wtf, you know this thread is a year old? No you can't remove touch and what does tibu and rom manager have to do with it?

you are in the skyrocket section, you need to go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1952. and the answer is yes you can remove touchwiz.
No you cant remove tw from a stock system if you think you can you need to do a lot more digging. Try removing twframework.apk see what happens try removing systemui.apk too while you're at it. Jesus you noobs kill me with false info.

For clarity, you can't remove it but, you're correct that, you can find roms that don't rely on tw.
What was the best before sliced bread?
I can't understand what you guys are saying about . Why he want to install a new rom ??? Just remove touchwiz using Root explorer like ES File editor and add a custom launcher like Nova . Is that the easy method ???

Hope you are doing well . Sorry if my question was wrong . I can't understand . Touchwiz is a launcher created by samsung for their devices .
Or is touchwiz a rom or kernal ? .I DELETED TOUCHWIZ FROM MY S DUOS . I am using nova launcher succesfully without any error .
Please describe me if my assumption about tochwiz was wrong.
Touchwiz consists of several pieces taking out the launcher is part of it but that doesn't remove touchwiz itself. Touchwiz is deeper than a launcher.

So, we have an improvement, TouchWiz UX is currently WORKING on Kindle Fire, I have tested it and no crucial bug for a user except for the CM9 stuffs and a small DPI of 120, but it is WORKING with a DPI of 120, a little small? Your eyes will adjust. If you want to test it, here it is:
http://www.mediafire.com/?6b65sayjfz86fd3
Go to Google Play Store and use any apps possible to change your DPI to 120, then use root explorer or adb to push it over /system/app and install it! You should be good to go!
Here's what the first version of it looks like:
http://db.tt/WqRG8e64
http://db.tt/S7bmuvyR
Special Thanks to bobrien4975 for making this
What not working that I need help with! Coming Soon
* Working with a DPI of 160, 120 is maybe too small for a good use on a tablet.
* If you have the Galaxy Tab 7 or 10.1 rooted, go to system/app and get us the TWLauncher.apk , Framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk
* No Wallpaper on Lock Screen
* Soft buttons and notifications that looks like TouchWiz UX. (I guess for this we need a ROM, right?)
Oh, and don't update any apps on Google Play now, if you want it, I suggest changing the launcher then the dpi and update then change the dpi and back to TouchWiz!
sadly no
I spent hours last week trying this... no success the resoultoin on the launcher is weird and doesn't fit right i got contacts app to work and that's all

That's a good start! My KF forces close every time I use the launcher, but it seems you got it running, do you still have the apk or anything so I can test it out and find a solution! Or at least somebody will!
You'd have to port a TW Rom. Like the Stock HC 3.2 Rom on the Galaxy Tab 7. It's mostly AOSP. But I know TW ports are hard, you'd have better luck with HC Sense.

I see ur point, thanks for pointing that out for me! I guess if it involves ROM porting we should focus on the cm9 first, maybe our awesome devs will do it after their cm9 project! But I still can't see why can't we just port the launcher or make a typical theme at least! Is TW UX built for Honeycomb or are there other reasons? Thanks

Hey bobrien4975,
Can you send me the apk of the launcher and the framework apk file that is in /system (asuming that you do it this way) and all the files involving this.
I would like to test it, I hear it crashes a lot but it's great to have a try on TouchWiz and see what is the problem.
Can you upload it or something and make it a Alpha version so others may help with the progress and perfect it.
Meanwhile, I will try to get some information and try to port the Soft Buttons and Notification as I see you didn't get it working, I will try to borrow my friend's Galaxy Tab 7 and get the files I need! If you have a rooted Galaxy Tab and want to help, go into system and copy out the twlauncher.apk , framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk and email it to me: [email protected]

Made this into a development thread, not a question thread, hoping to get TouchWiz working!
It takes a while for your eyes to adjust to the small density, but when you do, it's amazing, the launcher really is, and for an average user, I don't see any crucial bug here (except for the CM9 stuffs), it's beautiful, not as small as I imagined it would be, and I fooled a dude at my school claiming this is the Galaxy Tab 7!
Nice yeah I kept it at 120 I like it

Have anyone tried this, I am looking for a bug report, I am not seeing anything on my Kindle except for the not working Lock Screen lock!
When you changes the DPI, some apps in Play Store seem to be updating and some apps forces close all the time after update, so let's not update any app for now, but installing new apps seem to work great!

Have you tried S Note? Supposedly it's way better than S Memo and should be ported in my previous post.
Don't know nothing about the porting stuff, you should try other forums here too :good:
They have wider coverage and give you better odds in your search.
I could speculate that you can copy the needed resources from tw framework in to the S Memo apk to make it tw independent but that's just speculation and i've really got no idea.

Yes I have tried flashing it, and no, it does not work. Believe me I've tried so many different things. I know what I'm doing, and this isn't working. Unless for whatever reason my recovery isn't moving the files correctly, it isn't working. I don't have the snote apk in system/app, even though it is included in the zip. Weird. Might try moving everything one by one.

Turns out it still didn't work. I also ran out of space in system.
You could free up some space by getting rid of some of the notification, and ringtones. Some of them are 300kb or larger. I freed up 13MB just by doing that alone.
Not sure if that will still work though. I am having the same luck trying to get the same features as the S3 camera. I've been looking for help to get the extra effects, and shot modes for my camera ever since I saw the the camera on my girlfriend's S3. I've even went as far as trying to manually place all the files, that I was told that I needed for it to work, into their correct places. No dice. I've seen in a few posts in a couple different threads on here, that Samsung has tied up quite a few of their newer apps to only work with the phone they came with. Something to do with them being tied in with framework, and/or the kernel.
I've looked at our SamsungCamera.apk, and seccamera.jar files compared to the S3's, and they're very similar in most places, but they changed them up just enough for them to be a pain in the ass for them to work on another device.
I've asked for help from many people on here, as I am far from dev status. I can edit code if I know where to, but I haven't the foggiest of knowing what to do on my own on the harder stuff. When I have seeked others for help, either I get no reply, or sent on a wild goose chase. Not totally sure, but I think the dev work for our device is slowly dying as other devices are coming out. It seems they'd rather just not mess with it, and just jump to another device that already has the new stuff already working.

HTC SENSE 7 LAUNCHER FOR S6/S6 EDGE
Ok guys, so far this is just a base for a project, currently my device doesn't have root, therefore I'm doing what i can without. Therefore here is the sense 7 launcher working that can be installed on your Galaxy S6/Edge. Install both APK'S
Once/IF we get root i can definitely get things working better. However, in the meantime, when placing widgets you can jut tap them, and move them later.

Ok guys, so far this is just a base for a project, currently my device doesn't have root, therefore I'm doing what i can without. Once,/if we get root i can definitely get things working better. However, in the meantime, When placing widgets you can jut tap them, and move them later
Isn't this what has already been achieved by the user in this thread

And rather successfully I might add.

I could be mistaken, but the one you link to seems to just be Blinkfeed related, where this is the Sense 7 launcher. Seems like you'd already have to have the Sense launcher to use the Blinkfeed plugins from that other thread.

It is the launcher and all. Like you said you can't have the plug ins without the launcher. The OP of that thread covers it all. He is even going to get the themes to work too. He had spent a lot of time getting it to work for any device.
I can't get any of the news feeds to show up in blonkfeed. I can choose which ones, but when I go back to the home, nothing shows up.
