Mirrorlink Connection - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

Has someone tried to use the Pixel under mirrorlink connection in any car?
Does the phone supports mirrorlink? (not only Android Auto)
br
Chris

It's not under supported phone on the mirrorlink website. I use my chromecast, put my phone as a Hotspot and mirror my phone to my Civics touch screen. That is the best I could do.

[Q] Samsung TV remote app for Desire HD

Hello all,
I have seen similar questions around here, but not for this phone yet.
We own a Samsung ue32C6730 LED TV. I myself have a Desire HD. I am wondering if there is any possibility to use my phone as a remote control for this TV.
Hope anyone can help me out
The TV uses infrared for remotes the desireHD doesn't have an infrared port.
I meant remote control through our home network. The TV is connected to our router and my phone has Wifi.
This first app should work for your Desire HD (if you have the right TV set):

This second one only works on some samsung smartphones, I'm trying to get it to work on my HTC Desire (original):

If anyone knows how to get this second app to work, please let me know,
Grtz

[Completed] [Q] Mirrorlink

Hey there,
some Car Manufactures are integrating smartphones in their car infotainment systems with mirrorlink.
Im working at a Skoda Dealer in Germany and Skoda (also Volkswagen) are supporting mirrorlink.
But there are only a few devices at the moment supporting mirrorlink. (HTC ONE M8 for ex.)
So my questions:
Needs Mirrorlink special hardware or is this only software?
Is there a possibility to add Mirrorlink support to a smartphone by a special app?
Or mayby by a custom ROM?
I want to buy a Moto G 2014 but Motorola is not supporting Mirrorlink for now, so im searching for a possibility to add Mirrorlink.

Mate 9 pro mirrorlink question

Hello everybody.*
At first I must say it's nice there is a forum where you can find so much help with a lot of thing regarding phones.*
I hope my English I understandable, even though I'm from Denmark.*
I am the happy owner of an Huawei mate 9 pro. Really a good phone but I got a little disappointed when I upgraded my cars stereo to an pioneer sph-da120.*
I really thought that Huawei was up to date with everybody else on the market when it comes to mirrorlink, but sadly no.*
So my question is after of have tried nearly anything in the range of a rookie in phones firmware.*
Is there anybody out there that have a way to get mirrorlink working on huawei with other apps rooting and so on.*
I saw I an article that Huawei p10 is supporting mirrorlink and also in another that they have joined up with vw in 2016 to give people the option of mirrorlink with new cars, so anybody knows if there's and update on the way or is it a lost cause.*
Best regards
Do you mean MirrorShare? If so it works fine between my Mate 9 and LG WebOS TV.

No I mean mirrorlink. Mirrorshare I have and working fine but that requires WiFi and not a lot of cars has this or aftermarket stereos they all use the mirrorlink
Oh I see, my bad.

That's okay.
cant you just connect to your car stereo via bluetooth?
Well I can and have. But the whole idea of mirrorlink is to have everything you use on the screen on the stereo. It's a really nice thing.
The next step would to root my p9 pro to use ARU Unchained where you actually get your whole screen with background and icons over so you actually can control nearly everything with out using your phone.
Here in Denmark you will be fined for using your cellphone even for music via Bluetooth if you want another album or so. But not for using your stereo.
So for me mirrorlink is a feature that I really do like to have and I'm sure I'm not the only one
never even heard of that feature, and I have been using cellphones for 20+ years in the usa
Well it's something here there have been a lot about the last few years here. A lot of phones had it but not a lot you could use it for here but now it's really coming through so you can see my disappointment when I discovered a rather expensive phone doesn't have this feature. It's part my own fault because I really got my Eyes on the p9 pro before I bought it and on the other hand I don't understand why the chose not to have it in this phone.

Cat S60 OTG ?

Hello,
I tried to use the OTG (On The Go) function on my new CAT S60 but I don't know how to do it.
On the brochure and also on the site catphones.com at the voice Connectivity says "USB-OTG" but the technical support has told me that it works only on the S40 and not on the S60.
Does anyone know a way to use OTG on the S60?
Thank you and greetings.

Thank you 2ISAB,
the problem was rewanding the cable (not really OTG) and not the S60; wth the right cable OTG DOES function on S60.
Thank you and sorry for my mistake.
Bye.

Does HTCMirrorLink work after update to Android 9 in your phones???

Hello people,
since a long time i'm a sastified HTC user, especially for the good implemented connectivity between Mirrorlink and VW Infotaiments. But after the update to Android 9 is the connection between my HTC U12+ and infotaiment restricted, my infotaiment shows the message: MirrorLinkĀ® availability on this mobile device is restricted.
The mirroring function works first after more attempts, but the audio goes only over the htc 12+ speakers instead the car sound system.
I presume that in Android 9 build in Mirrorlink Version (5.00.1022520) is not compatible with the one from my infotaiment.
How can i revert to an older HTCMirrorlink version, e.g. 4.00? a normaly installation doesn't work and is refused with the message " APP NOT INSTALLED"
Does somebeody know which Version was buildin in Android 8?
Thx in advance

No it doesn't. After updating to 9.0 ist the HTC Mirrorlink service useless, only update to 9.0 if necessary.
Does it work before the update?
Greetings
Mine doesnt work on my Citroen van since update but my HTC 1 works fine
No, MirrorLink doesn't work on 9/Pie
I contacted HTC tech support today, 18 July, to ask about this problem. Surprised nobody has done so previously, or the support rep who replied to me was unaware this is a widespread issue. I've only had my U11 for 3 weeks. It came with Android 8/Oreo, and MirrorLink worked better on it than it ever did on my HTC-10 or my old 1-M8.
They created ticket# 50189199.
Let's see how far this goes...
